It's great to see the progress being made in the LLM space as competition benefits all ecosystem players. Pros Gemini 2.5 pro worked very well for basic and advanced coding tasks. Without carefully prompt engineering, Gemini 2.5 pro was still able to reason about most tasks and provide working code. I primarily used Gemini in the web UI and enjoyed the clean interface (very similar to claude.ai). There are smaller models in the Gemini family if you don't need so much reasoning horsepower. Based on the accuracy of the results, Gemini benchmarks very similar to Claude 3.7 Sonnet. Image creation within Gemini also works quite seamlessly. Cons Google does impose token caps on a daily basis. If you need more tokens, it's easy enough to switch to the paid version. You could also pay for Perplexity which includes Gemini 2.5 pro.
