Pros Gemini is a great product of Google. It's great at coding, it's good at generating images , with the right prompts you can achieve alot on a daily basis once you figure everything out of how it works you can achieve what you need. But with all ai products it can have it's bad outcomes but also good all depends on the right prompting. Cons What I experienced bad was customer support, it also has glitches in it's daily quota limits, sometimes the images or codes your asking it to generate sometimes takes a whole different generation of what your asking, another con is which all ai providers does if it generates the wrong thing your asking you can lose your credits really fast. Hall duty can dictate answers and it actually understands education jargon. Now, it requires 20 minutes rather than 2 hours to create weekly newsletters. I really appreciate that it makes suggestions for tone changes when I'm frustrated in difficult parent situations. Cons Occasionally uses overly formal language in an elementary school setting. 100% can't get that $20/month approved in district and that is if you're paying out of pocket. Many times, whatever we type in the prompt, it includes in the image things which we have not typed in it, like background etc., due to which our image becomes much more creative. They are beautiful logos that do not look like AI-generated logos. Cons The image-editing feature. It frequently tells you that it made the revisions, but the edits never actually show up in the output. I’ve tested this across multiple logos and images—easily 5–10 attempts each—with the same result every time. It's great to see the progress being made in the LLM space as competition benefits all ecosystem players. Pros Gemini 2.5 pro worked very well for basic and advanced coding tasks. Without carefully prompt engineering, Gemini 2.5 pro was still able to reason about most tasks and provide working code. I primarily used Gemini in the web UI and enjoyed the clean interface (very similar to claude.ai). There are smaller models in the Gemini family if you don't need so much reasoning horsepower. Based on the accuracy of the results, Gemini benchmarks very similar to Claude 3.7 Sonnet. Image creation within Gemini also works quite seamlessly. Cons Google does impose token caps on a daily basis. If you need more tokens, it's easy enough to switch to the paid version. You could also pay for Perplexity which includes Gemini 2.5 pro. It usually understands my prompts well so I don't have to fine-tune too much. What I especially like is that you can get 3 drafts at once to compare and choose from. Cons It just doesn't feel at the same level as ChatGPT, especially in generating written content. Also, I was never able to get a usable image generated and the model generally seems bad at following specific instructions for images.
