Pros I appreciate the service Nickel provides for payment processing. It doesn't penalize customers or business with constant fees when using bank account payments. Automated reminders, a professional personalized payment portal, and diverse integration options add significant value. The initial setup was also very easy making the transition from Quickbooks smooth and hassle free. Cons I have no dislikes at this time. The web portal is minimalist and easy to use. I was able to get up and running within minutes. It's great that you can assign a branding logo to your invoices. Pros I love that there are free ACH bank transfers and the ability to apply a 3% fee to credit card charges so that my business can keep 100% of what I charge and the customer has the option of not paying more to make a transaction or the option of convenience. It's a win-win for everyone. Cons The biggest issue with Nickel is that it doesn't have a phone app. The website is borderline unusable on a phone browser. Cons The only thing I don't love is that it doesn't add up all your invoices together and that can lead to an error. Switched to it from Melio. We love that the most basic features are free and we really don't need to upgrade at all. We also love that it's super easy to use and secure (we can send payment links to our vendors/subcontractors to request their preferred payment methods and we never have to worry about transposing any numbers etc). Cons Downside is that we are an accounting firm using it for our clients AND our own practice and there is no way to allow our firm members to see ONLY your client's Nickel profile and not our firm's Nickel profile as well (so, all our independent contractors can see how much we pay eachother). Other downside is that Nickel USE TO advertise that it was for the construction industry and USE TO provide a service where it would take care of lien waivers for you. They have since stopped doing that - and that really really sucks for us. I immediately had a response from the support team at Nickel, scheduled a meeting and they answered all of my questions and helped me get things set up. I've needed support after I was up and running and they were quick to reply! Pros The value Nickel provides is tremendous. I am able to utilize their free account to obtain ACH transactions/payments with no fees. My bank wont even do this for me. The customer support is tremendous and the process is simple and easy. My customers have a very quick, professional and reliable way to make payments. Cons It would be nice to have the recurring payments feature on the free version. Aside from this one thing - I am very satisfied with my experience and improvement to my company payment processing because of Nickel. To make matters worse, paid invoices were not marked as paid and still showing as outstanding. That is unacceptable and would only trickle down to customer dissatisfaction. Unique payment links, payment portal, CC & ACH, emails as soon as anything hits are all really good features that I have come to value. Very simple, but also very effective for the things that I need accomplished. Pros I did a deep dive of like 10 other digital payment websites and ended up choosing Nickel. The main reason I chose Nickel is because it has a 0% fee for ACH payments, but it also has some other nice features. It has pretty seamless QuickBooks integration, and what I find most useful is the general payment acceptance link they give you. I can literally send this link to anyone and accept payment from them so I don't have to worry about customizing any invoices or sending the wrong link or anything. Cons No major issues with Nickel so far - support is pretty responsive and have fixed the small issues I have ran into. I had looked at multiple more mainstream competitors, but with the large cost per transaction, none looked totally appealing. Nickel offers 90% of the features with 0% of the high fees. I have since started using them for all of my invoices across multiple companies. Cons The only thing I currently wish Nickel had would be features for more types of businesses, such as selling tickets for classes or digital goods. There isn't really a clean way to do that right now, but it's something that could easily be added. I spent a lot of hours looking for an electronic payment platform and luckily I found Nickel. From sign-up to the actual implementation, their customer service has been friendly and helpful. I only use it for accepting client payments, but everything has run smoothly with no complaints. I have not received any negative feedback from my clients that have used the service. Pros What I like most about Nickel is that there is no fee for ACH processing. The platform also allows you to determine the amount of credit card fees to allocate to the client. Cons I have only used Nickel for accepting client payments so I can only comment on that. To date, I have no complaints about Nickel. Support is quick to fix a problem. I didn't even submit a ticket. I just simply replied to an email about how my experience was. It was having many duplicate invoices and even when an invoice was changed within the system, it was producing those. Nickel got it fixed the very next day. Pros It is able to sync to the accounting platforms and easy to setup to. The customer support helped quickly resolve a minor problem. Cons I wish it can show me a total of the amount and the number of transactions for the invoices that weren't paid when I select them all. I wish the transfers of funds were quicker. It isn't as fast as Melio. Maybe over time it might.
