My overall experience with E3 has been hit or miss. Since the mobile app does not work every single time, it could cause an emergency to become worse than it should. It delays locking the school down.

Pros

Emergent 3 (E3) has an intuitive interface, making it easy to use in high-stress situations. It does not have a ton of settings or buttons you have to press. Everything is in bold and includes an image of each situation. It allows teachers and staff to lock down a school easily during an emergency. Once you submit a lockdown, the local police station is notified instantly to respond to the school.

Cons

A con about E3 is the mobile app does not always send out notifications. Even though you follow each step, it does not always work. Since the mobile app is not always working, teachers must rely on their school laptops to submit any emergencies. Sometimes you may not have your computer signed in, which could take time. If an emergency takes place, you would have to wait until your computer turns on and hope it's not doing a Windows update.

My overall experience has been mixed. I like that our school has an emergency notification system but it does not always work properly. I know the school district has spent a ton of money on this program. If a real emergency would take place, I don't know how well this system would function. It does not always work when we have a drill, which is a problem. I feel like other systems would work better than E3.

Pros

I like that E3 is available on PC and has a dedicated app for your phone. Whenever something happens at work, it automatically notifies the entire staff as well as law enforcement. Our school implemented E3 a year ago. Luckily we have never had to use it but just having it makes our school a bit safer. We have drills a few times a month to test the system and it has worked every time. I like that it has a map of your school and teachers can mark themselves safe. I also like the chat feature so staff can communicate to each other remotely.

Cons

One massive con is the app does not always pop up on your phone. Most of the time we have a drill, I do not get a notification on my phone. I followed all the steps the app had me do. It has users give permission on their phone to send notifications. Even though I did everything properly, it does not always notify me on my phone. I have never had that problem on my computer but the problem is I don't always have my computer on. I always have my phone on me though.
