We’ve been using BlazeSQL (Blaze) since early 2025, and it has become a cornerstone tool for our business. Before Blaze, getting answers to even basic questions could take days. We had to rely on contractors or team members with SQL skills just to extract and analyze data, and any back-and-forth slowed things down significantly. Blaze completely flips that. Now we can explore, iterate, and get to insights in minutes instead of days. A great example: During an exec call, a question came up around how “Hive HQ tips” are applied to jobs with multiple Bees. We all thought we understood the logic, but I decided to quickly validate it in Blaze while still on the call. Within about 10 minutes, I was able to: •Pull historical job data •See exactly when tips were added •Compare that to when Bees booked •Identify which Bees actually received payouts What we found was a gap in our understanding of how payouts were being applied—something we had no visibility into before. Without Blaze, there’s no realistic way we would have caught that—especially not in real time during a live conversation. That’s the biggest value: it doesn’t just make analysis faster, it enables a completely different way of operating—where questions can be answered instantly and new insights are uncovered in the moment.

Pros

Blaze has completely changed how we access and use our data. What used to take days—and required a contractor or someone who could actually pull and work with the data directly (SQL, etc.)—can now be done in minutes. The biggest win is accessibility. Non-technical team members can ask questions, explore data, and get real insights without needing to know exactly what to ask upfront. Instead of spending time trying to define the “perfect” query, we can iterate quickly and get to answers in real time. One of the most valuable use cases for us has been around product decisions. We often knew where pain points existed in our app, but didn’t always understand the root cause or what specific changes to make. Blaze helped us go deeper—identify the underlying drivers of those issues and design more thoughtful product changes based on real data, not just anecdotal feedback. After rolling out updates, we’re also able to track performance and validate whether those changes are actually improving outcomes. With features like Agent Reports, we can continuously monitor key metrics post-release and have insights pushed to us automatically, instead of needing to manually go look for them. Other highlights: •Fast time from question → insight •Ability to analyze multiple data sources together •Flexible dashboards and new filtering capabilities •Enables both reactive and proactive decision-making It’s become a daily tool for us and a core part of how we make decisions.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve to fully unlock the platform’s capabilities, and we realized over time we were only using a portion of what’s possible. Some of the reporting and visualization features could also benefit from more flexibility and polish, especially for more customized views. Also, some newer features are easier to access in the web-based version versus desktop, so aligning on using the browser experience helped us get more out of the product. That said, once you understand how to use it effectively, the upside is significant.
