Five stars! Pros As an electrical contractor specialising in high-voltage commissioning, we work with very expensive, large test equipment. Much of this gear needs to be transported interstate via road freight, so monitoring its location during transit is critical. We installed Maptrack asset trackers to protect these assets, and the results have been outstanding. The devices are extremely easy to install and provide accurate, real-time tracking data. Our investment in these trackers paid off in a big way when a couple of pieces of test equipment, valued at over AUD 142,000, was stolen during a break-in at an employee’s home. Thanks to the Maptrack asset tracker, we were able to give police the exact location of the asset, even guiding them over the phone as they executed the search warrant. This led them directly to the equipment, which was recovered within 48 hours. Although our equipment was insured, the Maptrack asset tracker saved us thousands of dollars in replacement costs and, just as importantly, prevented any operational downtime. This was vital for maintaining our commitments to clients, as replacing such specialised, long lead-time equipment could have severely impacted our schedule. In short, the Maptrack asset tracker is a reliable, cost-effective safeguard for high-value equipment. It has proven itself invaluable to our operations, and I would recommend it without hesitation to any business needing peace of mind when transporting or storing valuable assets. Cons The previous app was a bit clunky and hard to navigate, but the new system is a huge improvement, much smoother and easier to use. It would be handy to have more integration options in the future, but that hasn’t been a dealbreaker for us. Pros Very easy to learn and use across the team. Scanning and assigning assets takes seconds, and the custom forms help us make it fit our process. The reports are clear and give us a good picture of where everything is. Support has been excellent and always quick to respond. Cons Setting everything up at the start took a bit of time, as we had to load in all our assets, but once that was done it ran smoothly. A few more integration options down the track would be great, but nothing that stops us using it effectively. The new platform is more user friendly and offers so much more. The team at Map Track are very approachable and happy to assist with any questions or concerns/problems that I have to date. Pros By utilizing Map Track we are able to keep track of all our small equipment that we use. We are able to assign it to Projects, work groups, team members. It will help with monitoring and alerting when testing, tagging, calibration of equipment is due. The team at Map Track are very helpful and available anytime to assist with any issues you are having and provide you with solutions to making the platform work for you getting the most out of it. It made the A.I feature for building the database unreliable. That said, the A.I feature is fantastic for standard tools like power tools and common plant items like Compressors and Generators. The geo locating on scanning of assets and the flexibility within the tools them selves means i can customize most aspects of the system to suit my specific needs. Bulk scanning makes assigning multiple assets simple, the Ai asset creation tool is surprisingly effective and has sped up the process of inputting new assets. MapTrack has replaced other software we previously ran to manage staff, pre-starts, and basically any custom form you may need. The dashboard gives an easy to read yet informative overview of how your assets are deployed, where, and at what level of utilization, extremely helpful analytics. Combined with GPS tracking and telemetry our larger assets such as heavy plant self report hours for maintenance and service purposes reducing downtime and costly repairs. We get alerts when staff members have expired tickets/licenses, when plant needs maintenance, we can audit all assets comprehensively giving confidence in the accuracy of all asset information/locations. Pros The software is incredibly intuitive and easy to navigate, various features like import/export operate quickly and without fault. However the support is by far the best feature. Very responsive to emails and calls no matter how ridiculous my questions are. The development team is moving quickly and implementing new features and requested features rapidly. Cons N/A - Fits our use case perfectly, and the continued expansion of features indicates it may even replace other software we have in the near future. We now have full visibility over our tools, equipment, and vehicles, which has helped reduce loss, improve accountability, and handle servicing and compliance. It’s simple enough for our construction & maintenance teams to use, but powerful enough to manage hundreds of assets across multiple sites. Pros Easy to setup and use, everything just works they way you'd expect. Before using it, we struggled with misplaced or unaccounted-for equipment across multiple sites. Now we track the location and status of every bit of gear. The MapTrack team were very responsive and always helped right away with any questions. It was easy to setup and importing our asset registry and tagging everything. We now use it to track where our assets with QR codes and some GPS for our vehicles. The customer support is awesome and can always just give them a call when we have any questions.
