Founder Computer Software Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "A great improvement from Wave" December 20, 2024 5.0 We decided to move away from Wave to ReInvestWealth due to the pricing change Wave did. The migration was smooth and we had a couple of sessions to tackle specific questions we had to learn how to register things using ReInvestWealth. Once we understood how to do it (easy to do once you get familiar with were buttons and options are) we had to spend some time configuring several automation's that, in the long run, have saved us a lot of time when it is time to classify expenses and payments. Pros A list of the things that we like vs Wave: - Multicurrency business: Here you can have multicurrency invoicing integrated directly to your accounting, without having to create 2 "companies" and adding extra steps like with Wave - FX loss/gain: A lot easier to handle it here vs Wave - Automation: You can create your own automation rules to classify expenses and pretty much any transaction that is reflected in your accounts, you are not constrained by a predefined algorithm like with Wave. - Custom support: Since this is not only an online accounting solution but also has the support of real people with accounting knowledge, you gain access to the option of booking a session with a CPA (additional cost) to tackle specific questions and receive advise that will benefit you and your business. Cons There are two main areas that need improvement from my perspective: - Reporting: Limited, it has improved but it is not as robust as Wave yet. - Transaction filters: The filters are there, the UI needs improvement to make it easier to use them. It is important to mention that they are focusing on improving the first point, releasing some initial versions of basic accounting reports and showing the drive to invest into making the reporting module a more useful tool for those with the need of forecasting expenses, revenue and overall having an easy way to see the "numbers" of your business. It seems like a platform for cash based, small entities without complicated transactions. Pros Feature set seems strong. I am a small shop, so this is one of the better programs I've tried for the price. Cons Once I connected to Stripe, it seems to drive us to use Stripe instead of letting us operate within the platform and only do the card transactions on Stripe. Making things accessible and easy-to-understand for everyone. That's a great company mission and they're clearly succeeding there. Pros The integration was seamless, simple, and reliable! Which I simply cannot say about the other very popular software out there (that starts with a 'q'). I also deeply appreciate that this was made by and for Canadians, especially, small business entrepreneurs. Cons Nothing really so far! The only thing on my wishlist would be that the access to Cloud Tax and the T2 filing was fully a part of ReInvest Wealth instead of separate to reduce the complexity there of having to work with two companies. Literally could not even do the most basic functions, like, connect to my business bank accounts. I was on service calls with them for MINIMUM 2 hours every week with issues QB could not solve. They have seemed friendly, inviting, and helpful so far. Pros The $49 for a 30 min consultation with a CPA is a great value offer. They do offer tax filing services natively on app which is pretty great. They also offer the option for you to do the filing yourself with minimal software assistance and no real person support for significantly cheaper as well. Cons They don't offer any free CPA advice by email like a regular CPA usually does. It doesn't (currently) have a tagging or project system so it's really hard to divide specific initiatives or projects into separate reports or to filter your reports by tags to only see some activity in your accounts. Pros ReInvestWealth is a real game-changer for solopreneurs when it comes to accounting/bookkeeping! I really like how the AI helps you save a lot of time, and that they're one of very few systems that can actually help with filing taxes. Also, knowing that a CPA support is just a click away when I need accounting help is a major plus. One of the most important aspects of any system is their customer support, which is amazing—the ticketing process is quick and I always get fast, helpful responses. Cons While ReInvestWealth offers the most essential aspects of an accounting system, I did run into some issues with invoicing. They offer an integration with Stripe (which works perfectly), although it was Stripe itself that posed a few blockers on my end. I had to change my invoicing process because of this. The team is always present when needed and they are very proactive in terms of enhancing the offered solution. Pros Solution and support The solution (software) is very easy to use especially that RIW is reactive to any change request that adds value to users. It is also proactive in introduction of the latest technology to facilitate the bookkeeping process, and I would like to note the AI bookkeeping functionality. Moreover, the level of support in terms of speed and effectiveness makes me count on RIW whenever I face a difficulty, knowing they would swiftly take care of it. The platform is continuously evolving and improving, and I’m excited to see how it progresses. Pros It's super user-friendly. Very easy to track transactions and file taxes. Tax seasons aren't intimidating for me anymore. It takes me less than 2 minutes to file sales taxes, so you get the idea :) Cons For small businesses or professionals who have just started making over 30k, the subscription fee might be on the higher side. The setup was straightforward and I was able to start using it almost immediately without having to learn a complicated system. What really makes it different is how much the AI helps automate things. Transactions are categorized automatically and the platform gives helpful insights without requiring a lot of manual work. For a small business owner, that saves a lot of time. Another feature I really like is that you can file HST returns directly within the app, which makes tax time much less stressful. Not having to jump between multiple tools or deal with complicated exports is a huge plus. Overall, the interface is clean, simple, and very intuitive. There’s almost no learning curve, which is rare for accounting software. It’s great for entrepreneurs or small business owners who want something powerful but easy to manage.
