Its been a game changer for me and over profit is up due to Handoff AI Pros Ease of use. Automatically adds in essentials to complete the job like fasteners etc. Cons Sometimes I have the need to do very detailed estimates for insurance claims which need to have all line items shown on the proposal. I'd like a few tweaks to the starter version, but otherwise pretty satisfied with the product. Pros Handoff is easy to use and saves me hours when doing estimates. I can be more confident in my estimates and get back to clients sooner to win more jobs. Cons The exported pdf invoices on the starter edition say "client not specified", which looks unprofessional. I realize this is to encourage you to buy the more comprehensive software, but as a single person business , spending an extra 1000$ a year for that feature is unreasonable. I'd prefer it to say nothing, or to have option to put a client name in the starter pack I'd also like the option of separating materials from labor with an AI prompt and adding different markups to labor vs materials as it would be more consistent with how I like to bill customers and helpful in understanding my margin. Able to get rough estimates quickly Cons Often does not make adjustments correctly. Pros The app understands most of the specific details to give detailed material estimates and itemizes everything for me to create a project plan. It has also allowed me to get pricing over to my customers in a much quicker time frame than it would if I were to have to price everything out on my own. We did compare the pricing with bids we put together for the first few projects we estimated through Handoff and each time Handoff was within $100. For the most part, Handoff is fairly accurate minus the labor part. And I’m not sure how you would account for that on a truly accurate level. Although my experience is limited I have been around the block a few times in this application is top-notch. Pros I love the intuitiveness of the application. I prefer using it on a mobile device, Handoff has gone to Great strides too make their tool work on mobile devices. Cons Originally I would have said did not work well I'm over devices or there were no change orders but the company continues to impress me by diving into their weaker areas and bolstering them up. I'm looking forward to seeing their additions to handle project management, not only the estimating piece. Pros WIth Handoff, I'm able to confidently push out estimates which used to be my number one pain point of being a general contractor/real estate investor. Manual estimates would take me 2-5 hours and now I can knock them out in 15-30 minutes. I send out A TON more estimates now which leads to more projects and more income! Cons Sometimes the estimates come back extremely high - for instance to install and paint 8 doors, Handoff came up with a bid for $7,500. The customers would laugh at me, and I'd probably get a bad rep if I sent that in. Site visit notes and photos, ability to take photos of multiple receipts and add them to an invoice (and then mark them as billed so you don’t double bill).
