### "The Classic for Audio Management"

May 9, 2026

4.0

I have been using LimeWire for years. I love being able to search for specifc audio files and add them to my library. Its super easy to use and the application has in depth "how-tos"

Pros

Limewire is currently and has always been my favorite way to download music. I love how there is a comprehensive library to download from and super easy to transfer downloads over to something such as iTunes or however else you manage your music/film files.

Cons

With there being such such a comprehensive library to download from, sometimes that means you truly need to search through files to find exactly what you're looking for.

### "The resurrected LimeWire is one of the top in its field. Period."

May 6, 2025

5.0

I have to rate My overall experience with LimeWire to be a 10 out of 10. I have found no flaws in the program, it has safety and encryption, the account security is on par, and I feel that my data will be saved for years if I need to be an accessed at any time. That's pretty awesome.

Pros

So I've used different storage services before in the past, like Mega and Google Drive, but I find that LimeWire is a very unique service that provides certain things that these two do not. For example the amount of data that I can store here and the ability to quickly link and share it is a very powerful tool that allows me to better others in my daily life. Sometimes I write PDF files that respond to people's trauma or different things that occur in their lives, so by using a service like limewire, and Limewire in particular for its many benefits and advantages, over other competitors. I also work systems administration, and the system that they use for security is very thorough. Each file is cryptographically hashed so that it's secure and safe and unable to be shared with others unless if they have the link specifically. That's a very powerful thing to have. That means that I can directly respond to survivors and abuse victims, and respond in a way that is safe and encrypted for them and their messages and what we have to respond with. Thus this is why I like LimeWire in particular.

Cons

It doesn't really have any cons from what I've seen. I've noticed that it runs pretty well and the download speed is pretty decent, especially for a free service that required simply a Google login. That's very powerful for me, because it means I can respond to a few hundred people every few weeks instead of just dozens. That's amazing.

Switched from

[Google Drive](https://www.capterra.com/p/161425/Drive/)[MEGA](https://www.capterra.com/p/232384/MEGA/)

LimeWire is a far superior product compared to these two others. Google is the next best and Mega is last although it's still pretty good. However LimeWire is ease of use and accessibility, as well as it being a household name, the security, the ease of file accessibility, the ease of sharing, and so much more make this my preferred file sharing site going forward.

### "Already sold, just need to fix up a couple things..."

April 4, 2025

3.0

It's a nicely interfaced website with easy-to-use features and good sharing options. Despite missing some functionality to separate it from the competition, LimeWire is actually quite nice!

Pros

It's free, the interface is nice, and they give you a generous free file size limit of 4GB. Plus it's all legal content now, as they filter out the bad things that used to plague the platform.

Cons

You can't customize the shared files link, they don't give you direct download links (links that will download the file as soon as the webpage loads), you need an account for most things, uploading is kinda slow sometimes (could just be my internet though), you need credits to use the AI features (surely having some basic ones for free wouldn't hurt, right?), but despite all the grievances I have here this is a very nice platform! It seems they've turned over a new leaf, and this is cracking guys!

### "15 plus years still amazing. "

February 19, 2026

Overall I have used Limewire for over 15 years and it never fails to be one of the best places to get any kind of music or videos from.

Pros

What I like most about Limewire is that I can burn Cds and put anything I want on them right from my phone.

Cons

What I like least about Limewire are the viruses that it can cause when using the product or app or when searching through it.

### "Limewire is an intuitive, drag and drop file transfer system that simply works!"

January 16, 2026

So simple to use. Drag and drop, secure transfer and I know when it has been received and downloaded.

Pros

It handles large files that Google can't transfer, it's secure and really simple to use. I like the intuitive layout.

Cons

Nothing, really. I can transfer 4gb for free, and if I have bigger files, it's fair to pay for that.

### "Really Happy to Discover LimeWire"

February 23, 2025

5.0

After issues with my phone and transferring files with the cable. My USB-C connection isn't working any more. LimeWire is the best way for me to transfer files wirelessly...really helped me out of a spot.

Pros

Love LimeWire... My phone had issues and I'm in a country where we have to get over a "firewall". I needed a quick and easy way to transfer files from my computer to my phone wirelessly. LimeWire works quietly in the background with files transfers while I can work on my phone. Also allows me to share files with clients easily too...was using WeTranfer for this in the past. Now I think it'll be LimeWire all the way.

Cons

Not too much...I just needed a few minutes to figure how best to use it. It's mostly pretty intuitive.

### "Best file transfer service by far"

June 13, 2025

5.0

Sometimes I need to transfer files and documents to clients and colleagues. I have used many different tools and services. So now I can say that this is one of the best file transfer services I have used so far.

Pros

\- Simple UI - Provides fast upload & download speeds - Transfer files wirelessly - Dynamic Expiration - Add/Edit files after uploading - The free plan is still enough

Cons

I haven't found anything I don't like yet. However, sometimes, I upload a file and it doesn't appear. It seems like there's an issue. But it still allows you to create a share link, and when the user opens the link, nothing shows.

### "LimeWire is working great as a file-share service - my real experience with clients"

January 1, 2025

5.0

Working great as a file-share service. Much better than WeTransfer, which was my first choice until I switch to LimeWire.

Pros

As a professional video editor of unscripted TV shows for the biggest TV broadcasters I send preview files of my editing sessions to my clients for review. I\`ve started using LimeWire for this purpose over month ago, and it\`s doing great! What I like most in LimeWire: - easy to share links with my clients, - 4TB is plenty for sending preview files for reviews, - tracking downloads is great to have. Now I know if my clients even downloaded my work for reviews. As for now I didn\`t use built-in AI tools, but it is good to have them just in case. Specially music generator is a thing!

Cons

\- didn\`t noticed so far, but cons may be exposed later on.

### "Limewire Nostalgia"

May 2, 2025

4.0

I’ve found that LimeWire transforms the often cumbersome world of file sharing into something almost effortless. Its beautifully streamlined interface eliminates the need to navigate confusing folder structures, making uploads quick and accessible even for non-techies. The built-in QR code system simplifies transferring multiple files simultaneously across platforms, keeping everything neatly organized with all the essential metadata intact. This ease of use isn’t just convenient—it saves me countless hours. Whether I’m sharing documents, high-resolution photos, or media files, the flawless drag-and-drop functionality and robust encryption give me the confidence that my sensitive data is secure. Even challenging transfers of large files, which typically bog down email attachments or cloud services, pass through LimeWire without a hint of compression or quality loss. But beyond the technical brilliance, LimeWire holds a personal legacy. Growing up with it, the platform wasn’t just software; it was a gateway to a vibrant world of music discovery. Late nights filled with downloading tracks, creating playlists, and exploring underground genres have deeply influenced my musical tastes. LimeWire wasn’t just a tool—it was a cherished part of my formative experiences, igniting a passion for diverse, authentic music that I carry with me today. It’s also fascinating to consider how the principles of intuitive design and secure, seamless file sharing that LimeWire championed continue to inspire modern solutions. Today’s file transfer services build on these same ideas, consistently pushing the boundaries between functionality and user experience. This legacy invites us to reflect on how the nostalgia of our early digital encounters often paves the way for continual innovation in technology.

Pros

What makes LimeWire stand out is how it elegantly eliminates the traditional frustration of navigating through complex folder structures and convoluted file systems. The interface is remarkably intuitive and streamlined, allowing for quick uploads without requiring any technical knowledge or expertise. I've found the QR code system particularly helpful and innovative when transferring multiple files simultaneously across different platforms, as they remain perfectly organized upon arrival with metadata intact. I could see this feature saving me countless hours when sharing documents, presentations, high-resolution photos, and media files between devices - especially when working remotely or traveling. The drag-and-drop functionality is flawless, and the encryption ensures my sensitive documents remain secure during transfers. For someone who regularly needs to transfer content to mobile devices, tablets, and between operating systems, this functionality is absolutely invaluable compared to other file-sharing solutions I've tried. Even when dealing with large file sizes that would normally cause issues with email attachments or cloud services, LimeWire handles them effortlessly without compression or quality loss. Plus, it's LimeWire... I loved this software as a kid and I probably wouldn't have the relationship with music that I have today if not for LimeWire. The countless hours I spent discovering new artists, exploring different genres, and building my digital music collection shaped my musical tastes profoundly. LimeWire introduced me to underground artists, rare remixes, and international music I would have never discovered through mainstream channels. Even though we all kinda had to grow up and move away from the software, that foundation of musical exploration and appreciation began with those late nights downloading tracks, creating playlists, and sharing discoveries with friends, so it's nice to see the software growing up too. The nostalgia factor alone makes this platform special to me.

Cons

well, I will admit, I am a bit apprehensive to be using a software again that I specifically stopped using for legal issues, so I'm just cautiously optimistic about this platform now that they are asking for money directly this time too.

### "Limewire synonym of Trust "

April 26, 2025

5.0

I am very much satisfied with limewire. I am knowing this name since my final college days, when I used to download songs from this software. It was a blessing for us in those days to get the song free from any software. Limewire was the name of trust since those days when set used to download songs on laptop on a average of 45 minutes for one song. 😊. After so many days limewire revived my those memories, now area transferring those stories of trust and stories of faith to our children. Thank you lime wire for this incredible journey

Pros

Fast speed downloads with even big files. Able to sign up with new account or existing Google account, very friendly

Cons

Superb exceptional and amazing .. the speed and prompts are easy to follow and the results are fast and very impressive

Pros

LimeWire allows me to create amazing images with simple prompts and it has an amazing fast speed and the quality is exceptional.. I created many NFTS with it yet somehow they got erased in time as I was sick and could not work on more yet the images I did create were amazing and so easy to create using creative ideas .. I hope I can get back into creating them again now that I have recovered.. I think it’s the best platforms to create NFTS that I have ever experienced and hope to start working again on my many ideas again now

Cons

The content I created disappeared from my site after I did not use it for a while and I had over a hundred NFTS created yet can do it all again as I remember most everything I had made already

While there's room for improvement in some areas, LimeWire represents a successful reinvention of a once-controversial brand into a legitimate and useful creative service that continues to evolve with regular updates and new features.

Pros

The intuitive and user-friendly interface makes it exceptionally easy to navigate and use. The fast process delivers results very quickly.

Cons

This service is not well known to customers. It is hard to convince them to use it. I think it won't be much problem once they use and experience it.

Seamless and quick. Most important is that my clients have an easy time that does not take longer than a few minutes to find their files and download them.

Pros

It is very easy to upload quickly and share the link with my clients. It is also easy and understandable to my non tech clients to use.

Cons

It's hard to know when someone downloads files. I would like to know when a file is downloaded so I don't have to bother the client to find out if they got the files.

### "LimeWire Review (2025) – A Surprising Revival for Content Creators"

May 17, 2025

5.0

If you’ve been around the internet long enough, the name LimeWire probably brings back memories of peer-to-peer file sharing and a fair share of controversy. But LimeWire has made a comeback, and this time, it’s not about piracy. It has rebranded as a Web3-enabled content platform, now offering a suite of creative tools, AI generators, and a monetization ecosystem tailored for freelancers, tech professionals, and digital creators.

Pros

I used the AI generators for art, music, video, and written content. These tools simplify complex or intimidating creative tasks for my daily deadline projects. This tool is excellent for freelancers and tech guys under pressure. The new LimeWire platform is surprisingly intuitive, easy to onboard, and easy to explore.

Cons

Just like Coinbase and every other crypto wallet, if you’re not familiar with crypto wallets, NFTs, or decentralized systems, there's a slight learning curve. Also, it is not as mainstream as YouTube or Patreon yet. Traffic and earnings may take time to scale.

### "I'm realy happy"

May 24, 2025

5.0

Overall, my experience with LimeWire was a mix of excitement and frustration. It opened up a whole new world of music discovery and sharing, especially for underground and hard-to-find tracks. As a DJ, it was a goldmine for rare edits and bootlegs. But at the same time, the platform was full of sketchy files, slow downloads, and the constant risk of infecting your computer. Still, for its time, LimeWire was revolutionary and played a big role in shaping how we accessed music in the digital age.

Pros

What I liked most about LimeWire was the freedom to easily discover and download rare music tracks and remixes that weren’t available anywhere else, especially in the early 2000s when digital music was still evolving.

Cons

What I liked least about LimeWire was the high risk of downloading viruses or corrupted files, and the lack of file quality control, which often made it a gamble every time you tried to get a song or video.

### "Exp of Limewire"

June 9, 2025

5.0

LimeWire was an exciting gateway to an immense library of music, movies, and software that was otherwise difficult or expensive to obtain. It was a revolutionary way to discover new artists and access content.

Pros

The ease of use It was generally considered very user-friendly, with a straightforward interface that made it easy for people to search for and download files. \* Availability of Content: At its peak, LimeWire offered access to a vast and diverse library of content, including music, movies, software, and documents, all shared by other users. This was a major draw for many.

Cons

Legality and Copyright Infringement: This was by far the biggest negative. LimeWire was primarily used for sharing copyrighted material without permission. This led to massive lawsuits, a tarnished reputation for the company, and ultimately its shutdown. Users who downloaded copyrighted content were also at risk of legal action, though this was less common than the actions against the platform itself.

### "Limewire Giving back"

December 17, 2024

5.0

Overall i cant say much bad. I havent used it a hell of a lot lately but i plan to

Pros

I have to say after years of being on and off limewire, seeing them from the beginning, the greatest thing they have done is in terms of giving the creator creative rights (surprising concept) of the content they create using their AI generators. This is something almost noone else has taken part in doing. Even grammarly snatches rights for anything you put in it, thinking youre just using an awesome essay editor...thank you limewire for giving the power back to the artists

Cons

Not much to say here. I think the company should almost gear totally toward content creation though and working with artists.
