Despite missing some functionality to separate it from the competition, LimeWire is actually quite nice! Pros It's free, the interface is nice, and they give you a generous free file size limit of 4GB. Plus it's all legal content now, as they filter out the bad things that used to plague the platform. Cons You can't customize the shared files link, they don't give you direct download links (links that will download the file as soon as the webpage loads), you need an account for most things, uploading is kinda slow sometimes (could just be my internet though), you need credits to use the AI features (surely having some basic ones for free wouldn't hurt, right?), but despite all the grievances I have here this is a very nice platform! May 29, 2025 5.0 The Limewire nostalgia is real and it's super cool to be using this platform from my teenage years again! Who remembers downloading music from back in the day?! the platform is solid, provides fast upload & download speeds and tons of bandwidth for all my professional needs. I am constantly having to send large files of 10's of gigs to hundreds of gigabytes to my clients and this will be my new tool moving forward. Limewire is generally more reliable than "SendBig". I tried using the AI tools, but there seem to be restrictions. Glad if I could access these upon completion of this survey. Pros I like the quick transfer rate limewire offers as well as the reliable upload without interruptions. The filesize of up to 4GB is sufficient for my use. Cons I needed to get familiar with the new website, as I was used to the earlier "SendBig" website. There seem to be more features, like AI tools, that were not accessible during my last visit. It does what it says with ease and it provides a professional interface for my clients. Pros My business as a photographer requires that I transfer gigabytes of files to client and I use LimeWire to fulfill that need. There are several aspects of this site that make this very easy to do. Uploads: I like the ease of use and the user interface. The drag and drop works well and if you segment your files into well named sub-folders, your upload gets a meaningful title for your clients. I like the dynamic upload status so you are aware of where you are in the upload. Uploading is a snap with the drag and drop interface. Functionally for my clients, I like the gallery view that is presented where they can look at the gallery as a whole or individually in sequence. Downloads: This also applies to the downloads which they can do individually or as a whole folder. It's handy to be able to download a single file or all at once and view the entire gallery singly or all at once. Overall, LimeWire is simple to use and does the job. What more could you want. Cons I haven't been able to find an area that shows your current status with regards to used file space. Also, using some of the tools (Image to vector, convert to pdf, upscale image) comes at a price but that is not a concern for me as my main use is file transfer. The features were flawless and they have become my new go to stop for all my projects! Cons I noticed the text to audio was only available if I bought monthly credits and not the actual monthly subscription itself.
