### "A Perfect File Service"

June 6, 2025

5.0

Limewire made transferring files from my desktop PC to my Apple iPad incredibly easy and smooth. The interface is clean and intuitive, so I didn’t need any technical knowledge to get started. I was impressed with how quickly large files moved between devices without any noticeable lag. It’s also great that it works seamlessly across platforms without the need for extra cables or complicated setup. Overall, Limewire has become my go-to tool for effortless file sharing between my devices.

Pros

Limewire was very easy to use. Its interface was very intuitive; not messy and cluttered like some others. And the drag & drop was really helpful so I didn’t have to go digging through mountains of folders to find my file.

Cons

It would be nice to have a “dark” feature for the interface. At nighttime it’s like a flood light. It’s too bright. That’s really the only “con” I can think. Everything is clean and easy to use.

### "The hidden gem of file sharing platforms "

May 1, 2025

5.0

It’s been really good. The upload speed is fast so it doesn’t take long for me to send my clients their files.

Pros

I like how simple yet powerful it is. Even the free version gives a lot without compromising on anything. I use it daily for my business. What’s great is that person can view each file or even download individual files as well without downloading the whole thing.

Cons

The files only last for 7 days and they don’t have an app yet. I think if their we’re an app I could do background uploads but other than that it’s great

### "My very personal favorite"

April 9, 2025

5.0

My experience is very positive and I don't say that often. What you get in exchange for not needing to sign up or deal with 5k popups and ads is just overvalue for money. I've never seen such allowances on any cloud (I've been juggling files for good 20yrs now).

Pros

Account? What account? No sign up to continue, no \*bs\* popups, just straight into a clean and speedy UI, fast U/D speeds, library that actually works. I don't need more to give it 5/5 .

Cons

In terms of personal preference - I,d like to have the option to change the UI colors to dark grey&red. In terms of LimeWire as a service - I have nothing to complain about.

### "LimeWire: The Wild West of Free Downloads”"

June 30, 2025

5.0

LimeWire was honestly a game-changer for me in the early 2000s. It made it so easy to find and download almost any song, movie, or software I could think of. The feeling of searching for a track and watching it slowly download was exciting—like a treasure hunt.

Pros

Access to practically anything You could find every song, movie, software crack, or obscure remix you could imagine. Even stuff that was impossible to get in stores. ✅ Simplicity It was easy to install and use. Just type the name, click Search, and files would flood in. For a lot of people, it was their first experience with peer-to-peer file sharing.

Cons

Fake or mislabeled files You’d think you were getting a song or a movie, but it was either corrupted, something completely different, or in some cases, inappropriate content.

### "One of the best file transfer services "

April 29, 2025

5.0

I am very pleased and i've been using since long, long ago... Not sure if it was in beta Filetransfer, but i adopted i very early because even the free option handles more GB than most competitors

Pros

It has the easiest of use i've ever found. It can handle of BIG files and the history system is very useful.

Cons

The change from FileTransfer name... Joking! :P I don't really see any downside on it.

### "I'm realy happy"

May 24, 2025

5.0

Overall, my experience with LimeWire was a mix of excitement and frustration. It opened up a whole new world of music discovery and sharing, especially for underground and hard-to-find tracks. As a DJ, it was a goldmine for rare edits and bootlegs. But at the same time, the platform was full of sketchy files, slow downloads, and the constant risk of infecting your computer. Still, for its time, LimeWire was revolutionary and played a big role in shaping how we accessed music in the digital age.

Pros

What I liked most about LimeWire was the freedom to easily discover and download rare music tracks and remixes that weren’t available anywhere else, especially in the early 2000s when digital music was still evolving.

Cons

What I liked least about LimeWire was the high risk of downloading viruses or corrupted files, and the lack of file quality control, which often made it a gamble every time you tried to get a song or video.

Overall I have used Limewire for over 15 years and it never fails to be one of the best places to get any kind of music or videos from.

Pros

What I like most about Limewire is that I can burn Cds and put anything I want on them right from my phone.

Cons

What I like least about Limewire are the viruses that it can cause when using the product or app or when searching through it.

### "Great features, but tracking needs improvement"

April 29, 2025

4.0

My experience with LimeWire has been mostly positive. The ability to edit shared files and track what I've sent is very convenient. However, improvements in tracking file downloads or providing clearer access to this feature would enhance the overall usability

Pros

pros are that you can edit your shared files after you send the link and see everything you have sent

Cons

are that I can't see if someone has downloaded my files, or I can't find them. Or if you have this feature it's not easy to see

Personally, LimeWire has been a great help in creating images for my presentations as a university professor.

Pros

What I like most about LimeWire is that it allows you to request multiple versions of the idea you're working on, making it easier to choose the most suitable one to keep refining.

Cons

What I don’t like is that the app still struggles to accurately draw human hands.

### "“A Wild Ride Through the Internet’s Music Jungle”"

April 14, 2025

5.0

Honestly, it felt like magic back then. I could find almost any song I wanted for free, and it opened up a whole world of music. But it was a bit of a gamble — sometimes you’d get what you wanted, sometimes a virus, and sometimes... something very unexpected. It was chaotic, a little shady, but kind of iconic.

Pros

Free access to music and movies (especially before streaming took off) Massive library — you could find almost anything No account needed — just install and search Simple UI — easy to use even for non-techies Fast downloads (when peers were plenty)

Cons

“Too many fake or mislabeled files.” You’d search for a song and end up with something totally different. “Viruses were everywhere.” One wrong download and your PC was toast. “Slow or broken downloads.” Some files just never finished. “Sketchy as hell.” You always felt like you were doing something illegal… because, well, you probably were 😅 “Hard to trust what you were downloading.” No preview, no guarantees.

### "Easy, fast, reliable and very cool brand"

May 4, 2025

5.0

Easy, fast, and intuitive. Sharing files with all sorts of people has been simple and fast.

Pros

Using LimeWire to transfer files is incredibly easy, fast, and reliable. I found it while searching for ways of sharing music files with the artists I work with, and some of them who aren't tech savvy use it without problems. It is very intuitive.

Cons

The brand is still unestablished (unlike other companies who do the same) so people find it strange to use it. Although, some like the nostalgia it brings to use a brand that meant something very different 20 years ago.

### "Limewire: Useful for work files"

May 19, 2025

5.0

Honestly, I've only used it about 3-4 times since it took over easyupload. For uploading and sharing files for work it works, it does its job. I still need to figure out all the other features, but the initial impression for my basic use is good.

Pros

What I liked most is how easy it is to upload and share files. I used easyupload before, and having it here is convenient. It's fast and practical for work, like sending documents and files to colleagues.

Cons

Sometimes the interface is a bit confusing with all the new stuff (AI, etc.). I only use it for files, so all that extra stuff is a bit distracting. Easyupload was more direct and simple for what I need.

### "Limewire's got what you need"

May 26, 2025

So far my experience with Limewire has been exceptional. Both interesting and productive. It has handled everything I have thrown at it incredibly well.

Pros

I love the variety of tools Limewire offers as well as the quality of the rendered work. It makes it so easy to incorporate all things AI into my workflow.

Cons

Haven't really found anything I don't like about it yet - not anything I would call a "con". If I had to choose one, I sometimes get lost in the UI but I am confident I'll get used to it.. That's probably more a ME problem than a Limewire problem.

### "Limewire Giving back"

December 17, 2024

5.0

Overall i cant say much bad. I havent used it a hell of a lot lately but i plan to

Pros

I have to say after years of being on and off limewire, seeing them from the beginning, the greatest thing they have done is in terms of giving the creator creative rights (surprising concept) of the content they create using their AI generators. This is something almost noone else has taken part in doing. Even grammarly snatches rights for anything you put in it, thinking youre just using an awesome essay editor...thank you limewire for giving the power back to the artists

Cons

Not much to say here. I think the company should almost gear totally toward content creation though and working with artists.

### "Greatly priced file sharing and editing service online"

December 21, 2024

5.0

My overall experience with LimeWire has been decent as far as cloud storage goes, it's very simple and decently priced so I will continue to use it.

Pros

What I liked most about LimeWire is the decent pricing-per-GB and that they use AI to assist with the naming, tagging and overall editing of files.

Cons

Still in very early stages and some features are not available yet such as downloadable clients. In a way I am disappointed that LimeWire decided to move away from P2P, and are also advertising their own cryptocurrency, but it is nice to see it back decades later using a more useful service.

### "Exp of Limewire"

June 9, 2025

5.0

LimeWire was an exciting gateway to an immense library of music, movies, and software that was otherwise difficult or expensive to obtain. It was a revolutionary way to discover new artists and access content.

Pros

The ease of use It was generally considered very user-friendly, with a straightforward interface that made it easy for people to search for and download files. \* Availability of Content: At its peak, LimeWire offered access to a vast and diverse library of content, including music, movies, software, and documents, all shared by other users. This was a major draw for many.

Cons

Legality and Copyright Infringement: This was by far the biggest negative. LimeWire was primarily used for sharing copyrighted material without permission. This led to massive lawsuits, a tarnished reputation for the company, and ultimately its shutdown. Users who downloaded copyrighted content were also at risk of legal action, though this was less common than the actions against the platform itself.

### "Better than "we transfer""

April 1, 2025

Overall, it’s been really smooth and impressive. LimeWire feels like it’s evolved into something powerful and relevant — a smart solution for creators or teams who need to collaborate and move files efficiently. It's not just a nostalgia play; it's genuinely useful in today’s workflow.

Pros

I really like how simple and seamless it is to upload and share files of any size. The fact that it's encrypted and AI-powered makes it feel modern and secure, and the interface is clean and intuitive.

Cons

### "Limewire: Great discovery. Much better than the competition."

April 2, 2025

Great discovery. I now use it exclusively for all my file exchanges with customers. And I have noticed some of my customers are switching to Limewire too!

Pros

For my line of work, Limewire is far more practical, efficient and usable than most of the competition (wesendit, wetransfer, smash, etc). Straight forward operation, and cloud-like visualisation of all files and activity.

### "Initial impressions are good!"

June 17, 2025

5.0

I was previously using Sendbig until they got taken over by Limewire, who I only knew from the old P2P days. I was a bit cautious about signing up because of this but having used the free tier for a few days now, it's way ahead of the other free competitors in terms of upload speed, readiness of the file and the ease of sharing links with other people. I work with a bunch of people who really do not get on well with tech and even they have had no problems downloading the files easily and quickly.

Pros

It's got a really easy interface. I was able to share links with my colleagues who are really not tech savvy and they downloaded the files really easily.

Cons

The size limit on the free plan is a little restrictive although okay for the majority of things I was using it for.
