It's easy to stay organized. I like that you can also have a chat representative to help you out whenever needed. Pros I like how beginner friendly this program is compared to other takeoff programs. I feel like estimators of PMs with little to no experience can figure out this program pretty fast. I like that it's web based as well and not an application on my computer to download. And the cost of this program compared to others is well worth it. Cons I can't overlay 2 plan sets and auto align them or overlay multiple pages at once. I think we were trying to and the chat representative said that it hasn't been developed yet. The continual imrpovements are greate. I am very happy with the software and it's team collaboration. I look forward to using the software every chance I get. Pros Quick and easy to learn and use. More capable than competitor software while similar in cost. Love the ability to import custom properties as well as built in properties. Cons Would love to have more complex formula capability, such as calling on an object that is not a child or parent. Some of the formula writing is not as intuitive as it does not much the industry standards. Ex. are not equal and or equal to need to be written differently. There are some features that have not been added yet, but they're being worked on constantly by the design team. Pros How AI was able to rapidly help me build my assemblies. \[sensitive content hidden\] introduced me to "Claude AI" and it did all the work in minutes. Cons I cannot think of one thing to dislike !!!!! Most estimators look for software that is quick and user friendly. ZZTakeoff checks all the boxes. We look forward to working together. Pros The ease of use, the program has no lags, even being a web-based software. Having the ability to use my templates and parts list from another program really helps speed up our setup. Having the ability to have multiply estimators work together on one project is revolutionary, we now have just one report for a project instead of turning in multiply reports and having to explain them. No more missing sections. Having the ability to have AI (Claude) help with writing or building templates and takeoff tools is amazing. Cons I am nervous about the web-based software’s as internet can sometimes go out in our location. Would love to have the ability to work offline if needed. I couldn't recommend more to any construction professionals looking for apowerful take off tool at a fraction of the price of the "bigger guys" Pros The program is intuitive and the support team is extremely dedicated to making the user experience top-notch. I actually can't believe how responsive the team is when I have a question. 5 stars! Cons The program lacks the ability to apply sales tax natively, and the report function isn't as intuitive as Planswift. The team is obviously refining the functionality of the program, and they were able to set me up with a custom formula to facilitate this need, so I believe as time moves forward, these issues will be resolved. The one thing I'm waiting for is once they add another tab for tracking profit / loss on projects all in one system. Pros Super easy and friendly to learn/use. Transition from some of the big names it's just a lot more simple and doesn't require as many manhours to learn and use. Cons At the moment it's had no issues for my use. The learning curve for learning how to make the assemblies is one of the items I'm still working on. ZZ is easy to use, perform take off's in, and share screen with partners. Pros Ease of use; flexibility to create formulas, assemblies, etc.; Auto-scale and page naming works the best out of all the platforms I've used. Their team listens to real users and up dates features in close - to - real - time based on the feedback. Cons No AI integration but rumors are it's coming soon. Although they have a great community and great videos, sometimes it takes a bit to learn the in-depth how to's... however, they do have a great support team to chat with. Overall, very happy with the software and love the new features coming so quickly! Pros Being a Planswift for a lot of years, the biggest game changers for me are: - full color plan sheets - 100% online use/access (including mobile access) - sheet revisioning options (not having to create new projects or have jumbled plans) - AI features (scaling, page naming, etc.) - Ability to work on the same project as another user simultaneously Cons Because it was a newer software, zzTakeoff did not have all of the plugins yet, and we needed Earthworks plugin. That was a little difficult to deal with, but we were able to work around it. I understand many plugins are close to being released in zzTakeoff. Coming from PlanSwift, ZZ has all the same features in a cloud based product with many additional features. Pros I am a big fan of the software being in the cloud. Being able to access takeoffs from any device connected to the internet is a game changer. Cons My least favorite thing about zzTakeoff is the inability to easily assign takeoffs to areas for reporting purposes. Pros zzTakeoff is a great software that does everything I need for my drywall business. Easy to use and accurate. Cons Nothing about zzTakeoff I have come across that I don't like so far. Pros The versatility of the software is a big upgrade of what we were running before so that has been fantastic. Cons I would say the only thing I currently dislike about the software is just that it is still in its development phase so there are random little things missing. ZZ's customer service is very helpful and easy to get ahold of. Darin helped us throughout the whole process. Pros I like how you can collaborate in real time with each other. Also some of the AI features zz has implemented such as automatically ordering and labeling drawings. Cons So far, I am getting used to the mechanics of it compared to the platform we were previously using. They are similar to each other, but zz has many more features. The software is powerful, offers a great set of tools, and is backed by an outstanding support team. The ongoing assistance from\[sensitive content hidden\] and the zzTakeoff community made it easy to get answers whenever we needed them. It's clear they care about their customers' success and are committed to providing excellent service. Pros I really liked the wide range of features zzTakeoff offers and how intuitive the software is once you become familiar with it. One of the biggest advantages is the community support, where multiple knowledgeable users and staff are available to answer questions and provide guidance. I also greatly appreciated that the representatives who helped us get started, \[sensitive content hidden\] continued to be available even after onboarding. Their responsiveness and willingness to help made the overall experience much more enjoyable. Cons The software has a lot of capabilities, which can make the learning curve a little overwhelming at first. While the training and support are excellent, some workflows could be more intuitive for new users, and having additional step-by-step tutorials for advanced features would make onboarding even smoother. We were looking for a software provider that is continuously innovating, introducing new features, and investing in the future of their product. I really like how the design team is engaged with the users. I feel like this platform gets better and better! Pros zzTakeoff is very easy to use. I came from OST and was reluctant to try something new. zzTakeoff was very easy to understand and apply what I could do in OST. Cons I did not like how I couldn't customize keystroke commands for zooming and panning similar to OST. But I found a workaround. Wanted to try something new and in development. The ZZ Takeoff team did everything they needed to do to support our startup. Pros Initially the purchase was very easy and the time it takes to get people up to speed is very short. The development team was quick to help us get integrated with our ERP system. We've definitely gotten our return on investment in this tool. Cons Nothing stands out at this time. With a balance of cost and features it really does everything that I need and they are always working to add new features. Pros cost, formula & assembly inclusion equal to the power of the more expensive systems, basic ai for file naming and navigation Cons price list management - There is no easy tool to update prices and carry them into assemblies so when you have to update a large number of items and assemblies already created it can take a while to update.
