It's easy to install. The basic features easy to use. The remote support agent and access is fast and has good features

Cons

With the remote support tool, you will need to update the agent frequently. Also, the remote support agent can get hung up

Overall I (and our business) have a very positive experience with the Kaseya VSA in our day to day operations. The VSA allows us to centrally manage all of our customer remote operations including Endpoint Security, Backup of differing technologies, Patching, monitoring and remote access. The VSA also allows us to provide many of these same benefits to our customers which we support, enabling them to have a similar positive experience when needing to access their own systems.

Pros

I am most impressed by the functionality and ease of use of the Kaseya VSA for everyday operations, from the perspective of a managed services provider. Supporting our customers in a way that allows quick resolution of their issues is a driving force behind our software purchasing mandate, and the Kaseya VSA allows for this without being cumbersome to use.

Cons

My primary issue with the Kaseya VSA is around the licensing model. We run an on-premise VSA, but would prefer to have the flexibility of a monthly subscription service around our licensing as this is how our customers consume services in the cloud driven era we live in.

For an established RMM tool, one would expect better performance and reliability. The constant connection problems will cost countless hours every month in productivity.

Pros

The ability to categorize a site into subsites, creating tasks from scripts is very easy (although creating your own is not for the majority of users), easy to install.

Cons

Constant disconnects, too many steps to accomplish tasks that other RMM tools do much better, Live Connect is not seamless and requires logging into almost every time, registry editor does not show actual data and only keys, navigation in the menu does not always pull results, saved credentials suddenly no longer work, no ability to drag and drop from local to remote and vice-versa....there are honestly too many negative aspects to the program compared to other tools out there.

I've been around the industry for long enough to have used most of the rmm providers, and I'll start by saying that they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Some are robust and powerful, others are easy to use but limited. Kaseya VSA falls into the robust and powerful category - it takes some expertise and configuration, but what you have here is a system that is capable of automating the majority of your IT operations. Alerts and logs work as you would expect, and are pretty dependable. Patching is really solid in the platform, you'll be able to setup automation scripts to do most of what you need once you get some experience in the platform. Remote Control is pretty darn good too - it's fast and the UI was recently improved. You'll need to dedicate time and resources to getting it up and running. It's not the worst startup in the world, but it takes some learning and hours of configuration. Support is hit or miss, just expect that with pretty much every rmm player in this space - I've yet to be truly wow'd by support. Lean on the community if you hit roadblocks and support isn't coming through. There are some good groups of people who can assist or share practices. The service desk in VSA needs to be extended with something else though, so consider that when purchasing.

Pros

Remote control is integrated into the product, and actually works. Very powerful scripting and automation. Pretty good selection of add-ons to extend services out to other areas (SSO, PSA, etc). Product is improving.

Cons

The UI needs an update, and some of the workflows are less than ideal. Support could be better.

Pros

Live Connect has been a great addition to the RMM Platform. We use service desk for our helpdesk ticketing system and enjoy the many ways it can be tweaked to fit .

Cons

Getting the solution setup was a difficult task, especially the service desk. I with there was more options/fields for asset tracking and management. Fields like Purchase Date, Expiration Date/Renewal Date, automated checks for Dell warranty information, domain expiration tracking.

VSA is allowing me to scale my client base at a far greater rate than I could without the platform. Automating tasks & automating the monitoring of infrastructure saves me lots of time.

Pros

I have found that VSA is so feature rich that you can do basically everything you need from an MSP standpoint. I have appreciated the prompt support when it was required & have found that VSA will really scale quite well. Kaseya gave me 2 free 1.5 hour long sessions with a VSA expert to remotely assist with the initial configuration & to go over all the features.

Cons

Sort of a positive negative comment, VSA is such a vast product that the initial setup process is quite a mission. Probably one of the more negative things is the lack of a quality iPhone/Android application to assist with monitoring alerts.

Pros

Kaseya has a huge array of features. We use it for monitoring, backups, anti-virus, reporting, etc. Theres also network discovery tools. I like that it can be used as a single point of management of all endpoints.

Cons

Configuration. If you are new to the system, it can be very difficult to configure. The settings are so granular, it can be a bit cumbersome to get everything figured out. Once done, everything works very well.

Pros

Lots of configuration options and customizations. Potential to do so many things with it. I like the ability to see software and hardware inventory quickly and run reports.

Cons

Not user friendly, requires some indepth knowledge to use it, remote control software not as robust with features requiring Live Connect for file transfer, chat, etc in separate portion of the app instead of inside remote control app.

Pros

The software allows us to monitor and maintain external machines in one central place. This helps limit the resources required to complete most IT tasks

Cons

It isn't intuitive enough and you can end up configuring it in a way that causes you problems further down the line

Central Management of all the assets and remote support

Pros

Live Connect, we were able to get the insight of the machines without logging into the machine and complete most of our tasks. Centralized patch management and asset audit with automated monthly reports.

Cons

Chat feature is not upto the mark, customizing a report is not user friendly, patch management is still having issues, there is no time based password generation for the technician to login the server. doesn't reads the backup details of third party backup softwares like veeam, shadow protect.

Overall good, but, not great.

Pros

Fairly easy to use and setup. Also, SaaS offering, so, not on-prem hardware needed.

Cons

Price is a little higher than competitors, especially considering you need to do a 3-year contract to get the best pricing. Parts of VSA have been "broken" with upgrades and time to fix essential issues have been longer than expected.

Kaseya helped us to get an accurate picture of our network and assets. We have been able to leverage Kaseya to do a number of projects that previously were off limits because we had to "touch" every machine. Now that "touching" a machine is just selecting all from a list we have significantly more flexibility from an IT standpoint.

Pros

The feature set of Kaseya is impressive and has helped me to automate a significant amount of our work.

Cons

The interface is currently awful. Flash is not a technology that should be used in a modern product and the interface frequently fails to update accurately when using filters.

An all in one solution ready to go. The customer service was good and quick to respond, but not always easy to understand.

Pros

Overall, good, lots of features and most of it is easy to use. We use this software to push out updates, patches, and manager our anti-virus.

Cons

The viewer for remote desktop updates almost daily!!! We are forced to update it and run it every time we want to RD someone.

Allows us to manage our networked computers easily. The cost per machine is very reasonable and the application is very flexible.

Pros

The remote access is excellent. The display of remotely accessed computers comes up in a floating window that is easily viewed.

Cons

Sometimes when you change views, it does not change immediately. You have to select another view for your filtered view to be displayed.

The pros of Kaseya are being able to remote control a users computer for troubleshooting purposes. You are able to push updates, audit software installed. We create and track our tickets using Kaseya. Super user friendly.

Pros

live connect and remote control of endpoints is great. KSDU is nice when it works but the reporting isn't accurate. Service Desk module is good and we use it everyday.

Cons

SQL backend makes updates a pain. Everytime we update we have issues. Would love to migrate to the cloud but no migration options are available.

Like the product, but support is disappointing. We have used this product for over 7 years. I am told every year that they are improving their support, and I should wait and see. Still waiting...

Pros

Probes are very easy to depoly and get up and running. In addition there are many products it integrates with.

Cons

Their support desk is very unreliable and often tickets can go many days without any feedback.
