Limitations on logic when building forms. I need it to be much more robust so I don't have to ask people questions that don't apply.

ITAM was shown in a demo and it was mind blowing. Real time analytics driven from live connections in the system blew my mind.

Cons

I had no complaints about the product because I haven’t utilized it fully. Watching the demo and using other c TDX products helps me understand the environment.

It is a highly capable asset management tool that successfully addresses visibility gaps and helps mitigate compliance risks. However, you have to be prepared for the initial setup hurdle before you can unlock its full budgeting and lifecycle tracking benefits.

Pros

The seamless integration with the core ITSM ticketing system. Being able to link hardware and software assets directly to active help desk incidents gives our technicians instant visibility into a machine's full service history, making troubleshooting incredibly efficient.

Cons

The heavy upfront time investment required to implement and customize the tool. Manually importing existing inventories, defining custom asset types, and adjusting attributes to fit our organization's specific workflows felt tedious and delayed our time-to-value.

TeamDynamix ITAM has given our IT team much better control and visibility over our assets across campuses. While it takes time to get fully configured, the payoff is worth it. Having asset management tied directly into our ticketing and service management workflows in one platform is a major advantage. It's a reliable solution for higher education IT departments managing assets across multiple locations.

Pros

TeamDynamix ITAM integrates seamlessly with the ticketing system, which makes it easy to link assets directly to support requests. Tracking hardware and software across multiple campuses is straightforward once everything is set up. The ability to assign assets to users and locations has improved our visibility into what we have and where it is. The platform is flexible enough to accommodate the needs of a multi-campus university environment.

Cons

Initial setup and data population can be time-consuming, especially when importing existing asset records. The interface for managing assets could be more intuitive some actions require several clicks to get to. Better bulk editing tools and more robust reporting out of the box would be a big improvement. Like other TDX modules, the learning curve is real for new administrators.

ITAM does exactly what it promises within the TDX ecosystem, and for institutions migrating from fragmented spreadsheet tracking it's a genuine improvement. That said, it leans heavily on administrator effort to stay accurate and functional. It's a solid module for TDX shops, but organizations expecting a fully-featured standalone ITAM solution may find it falls short of dedicated competitors in areas like automated discovery and software lifecycle management.

Pros

The bulk import capability handles large, complex data migrations well. Being able to move thousands of hardware and software asset records into a centralized system — with owner assignments, department data, and vendor details intact — was transformative compared to managing that information across disconnected spreadsheets. The tight integration with the rest of TDX means assets connect directly to users and tickets without maintaining a separate system.

Cons

The import process demands significant data preparation before a single record can be loaded. Field formatting requirements are rigid and unforgiving, which means a substantial cleanup effort is required upfront. Combined with the lack of any automated asset discovery, keeping inventory current relies entirely on manual updates — which is a meaningful gap for a dedicated asset management product.

Sassafras helps in identify waste in business. It is a good product for cost analysis of software and hardware.

Pros

Sassafras K2 captures complete information on machine and software usage. The level of detail in the information gathered is impressive and useful. Support from the Sassafras is solid and available to users of all skill levels.

Cons

The interface has a learning curve. It is good to pair with the vendor when beginning to install their agent on the clients. I use is mostly for asset tracking and usage, but the capabilities are big and can be overwhelming for the end user.
