My overall experience with Workday Learning has been largely positive, especially in how it brings together learning, compliance, and employee development into a single, integrated platform. It serves as a centralized hub where employees can access both their personal information and the training resources relevant to their roles. Where my experience has been more challenging is with the reporting capabilities, particularly for managers. However, we’ve been able to turn that limitation into an opportunity by implementing automated reporting that feed into Power BI. By creating enhanced, intuitive dashboards, we’ve significantly improved visibility and usability for managers, enabling them to easily identify gaps and enroll employees in relevant developmental trainings. Overall, Workday Learning has proven to be a powerful platform that, when complemented with the right reporting enhancements, effectively supports both organizational requirements and employee development in a meaningful and scalable way.

Pros

What I appreciate most about Workday Learning is how it provides a centralized, user-friendly platform that supports both organizational needs and employee growth. The system’s structured admin levels also ensure the right balance of governance and flexibility. Admins can for example manage access, assign training. Workday Learning does a good job supporting both compliance and developmental training. It makes it easy to assign and track required trainings while also offering opportunities for employees to development through curated programs and courses.

Cons

One of the challenges with Workday Learning is its out-of-the-box reporting capabilities for managers. The standard reports can be difficult to read and don’t provide the insight that managers need to quickly assess training progress or identify skill gaps within their teams. To address this gap, we’ve implemented a more effective solution by leveraging Workday's automated reporting that feed directly into Power BI, where we’ve created enhanced, user-friendly dashboards. These dashboards provide managers with clear, real-time visibility.
