I highly recommend. Five stars. And it is refreshing to get to deal directly with the \[sensitive content hidden\] building the app. Pros I'm a big fan of what Deqian is building. It provides the features of a much more expensive data room system, and he seems to add new features weekly. The value is unmatched. Cons Early versions required you to get comfortable with the setup. Today, it is intuitive and easy. When they added the signature feature, I was able to cancel another service. The product does what it promises and makes secure document sharing feel much simpler and more modern than many legacy alternatives. It was easy to get up and running, the platform feels thoughtfully designed, and the overall experience has been smooth for our team. We’ve also found the visibility into document activity genuinely useful, since it adds context beyond basic file sharing. Overall, Peony feels like a well-built product that balances security, usability, and professionalism very well. Pros Peony has been easy to implement and easy to use. The interface feels modern and intuitive, and it makes secure document sharing much more straightforward than older, more cumbersome tools. We’ve especially liked the combination of strong access controls, a polished sharing experience, and useful visibility into how recipients are engaging with documents. It solves an important business problem cleanly and professionally. Cons There has not been much to dislike so far. As with any newer platform, there are always areas where additional customization or more advanced workflow options could be helpful over time, but our experience has been very positive overall and the core product has delivered well. Switched from [Papermark](https://www.capterra.com/p/10023636/Papermark/) We switched from PaperMark primarily because Peony was a better fit for our budget and use case. As a startup, cost matters, and Peony offered a more accessible path to data room functionality without requiring a multi-user plan. PaperMark is a solid product, but needing a higher-tier setup for data rooms made it harder to justify for our stage. Alternatives considered [Dropbox DocSend](https://www.capterra.com/p/136311/DocSend/) Reasons for choosing Peony We considered other options, especially DocSend, but Peony stood out on value. DocSend felt too expensive for our stage, while Peony provided the core functionality we needed at a much more startup-friendly price point. Mostly intuitive. Fast app speed. Team has been super responsive to help navigating some set-up needs and questions. No relation to the team, just met them, but I am happy to celebrate products that are a breeze to use. Pros Just switched from Docsend to Peony as we launched our Series A round. Excellent value and customer experience -- all the key features of the upper Docsend tiers at a fraction of the price, but the decision was definitely not about price and more about the modern experience (for both fundraisers and prospective investors) that Peony provides with both design and functionality. Nice flexibility for data rooms to have combinations of embedded file types, videos, web links and more. Doesn't have the third-party management features of Docsend, but not missing that too much, managing more through shared-use links with portal registration. Cons No major frictions thus far. Only issues/questions the team quickly addressed. Tiny CX upgrades will surely come over time but it's 95% spot on already.
