It prevents important assignments from getting lost in emails or chat threads and helps writers stay aligned with newsroom priorities while maintaining creative focus. Pros Working in creative and newswriting means balancing ideas with tight deadlines, and MonsterOps helps keep that balance clear. It gives me visibility into what stories matter most, what deadlines are non negotiable, and what is coming next without constant back and forth. Editorial meetings feel more focused because decisions, follow ups, and story tasks are captured live. I spend less time clarifying priorities and more time actually writing. Cons There is a short learning curve if you are not used to working inside a structured operating system. It took a bit of time to understand how everything fits together, but once it does, the workflow feels very intuitive. MonsterOps helps solve that by keeping goals and responsibilities transparent across teams. Everyone is accountable, and their work connects back to shared outcomes. For us, that means fewer unclear requests, better prioritization, and less time spent figuring out what should come first. It helps the whole company move in the same direction without adding extra process. Pros I find the way they did the scorecards super cool. It's way better than a simple spreadsheet. Everyone updates their number and we can quickly see when a scorecard needs attention. They way you can quickly and easily switch between weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly made our life so much easier. Cons Every time I want to suggest an improvement, it's already been addressed before I have time to email support. It's clear they are heavily improving the software every day. Before, priorities, numbers, and issues were split between sheets, Notion, and random notes, so prep for leadership meetings was slow and messy. Now, everything we need for the week lives in one place, so people actually show up already aligned, we spot stuck items faster, and follow ups from last meeting do not quietly disappear. It sounds simple, but that shift alone has made our leadership time feel a lot more focused and useful. Pros We signed up for MonsterOps after getting tired of spreadsheets and random Notion pages. In only a few days, we’ve got leadership priorities, metrics, and issues in one place, and our first weekly meeting was a hundred times more productive. You can still see it’s a newer product in a few UI details, but the core idea clicked with the team very quickly. Cons I am still early in using the tool and have not hit any serious drawbacks yet.
