It's clearly a mature tool for developers, backed by great documentation, solid tutorials, and a helpful community. Customer support has also been great, I reached out about a licensing question and got a fast response, with my issue resolved in under 3 hours. As for value for money, I started on the Pro plan and it was well worth it for the time it saves; I've since moved up to the Advanced plan and have been very happy with that change. Pros What I like most about GitKraken is how well it handles tracking changes across different repositories, the security it provides, and its integration with multiple Git servers/providers. I use Git and Jira daily, and I really appreciate being able to clearly see pending PRs, easily fix a commit message or perform a cherry-pick, and the worktree management is outstanding, it's also been a big help for branch maintenance. Selective staging is another feature I rely on constantly, and the built-in code editor comes in handy for resolving conflicts and making quick linter fixes without leaving the app. On top of that, performance has been a real highlight for me, I switched to GitKraken specifically looking for better performance for a project that's several years old and quite heavy, and it turned out to be the tool that worked best for me. Everything feels fast and smooth. Cons So far, I don't have any significant complaints. The one thing I'd mention is that the desktop app can sometimes use quite a bit of memory. It’s one of those tools that just stays out of your way and lets you focus on your work. One thing I really like is how simple it is to switch between different profiles. I use a work profile, a teacher profile, and a personal one, and managing repositories across all of them is smooth and hassle-free. I never feel like I’m fighting the tool or reconfiguring things all the time. The commit graph deserves special mention. Honestly, it’s the best I’ve used. Being able to visually follow changes, see where something came from, and understand how a branch evolved has saved me a lot of time. This has been especially useful when working with larger teams spread across different cities, where understanding who did what (and when) really matters. GitKraken has also been a lifesaver when it comes to code reviews and merge conflicts. The merge and conflict views make even messy situations much easier to understand. I’ve managed to solve conflicts that had my teammates stuck and frustrated, and a few times that alone made a big difference for the whole team. I’ve also used GitKraken in class projects, and the Gitflow support is great for teaching. The visual explanations help a lot, and the AI features that explain commit histories make reviewing long chains of changes much less painful. This has been really helpful during one-on-one meetings and code reviews. Overall, GitKraken just feels solid and well thought out. I’ve been using it since the early days, and it’s been great to see how much it has improved over time. It’s easily one of my favorite tools for working with Git, and I’m genuinely happy to keep using it.
