## What is Aura Social?

Aura Social is South Africa's dedicated freelance marketplace built specifically for the local market. Businesses post projects for free, receive proposals from vetted South African freelancers, and hire with confidence knowing every payment is protected by escrow via PayFast. Freelancers keep 100% of their quoted rate — the 12.5% platform fee is charged to the client, not the freelancer. All payments are processed in ZAR with no currency conversion and no offshore fees. The platform includes built-in contracts with NDA support, milestone tracking, timesheet management, file sharing, in-platform messaging, video meetings, and a full dispute resolution process. Both clients and freelancers get their own dedicated dashboard with role-appropriate tools.
