The advanced options allows me to analyse the dynamics and the structural details very easily. Though it is an advanced software, learning is very easy. It's nice that we can still maintain our older drawings with the product. Pros The compatibility with older versions and the dxf export are very useful for us. I use it for over 30 years now, so I'm used to the software. We've never had any intern, that knew how to work with the software, because it's hardly ever used for just 2D. We have no experience with the 3D, but I'm sure it's a great product for that field of expertise. Cons Because no one uses it for just 2D, it's impossible to hire engineers that are used to this software for just 2D. But to be honest, it's a 3D CAD product after all. Review Source AV Alexandra V. We were stuck in the stone age with AutoCAD but now we generate 3D models and associated drawings better/faster/cheaper than before. Pros CATIA really is easy to use compared to other CAD tools. Pros CATIA is a very powerful, informative and amazing software in terms of features, functionality, designing and product development. The best part is that it provides a lot of facilities such as designing a part, machining it and generating NC codes. It consist of a variety of options such as creating engineering drawing sheets, engraving, pocketing, padding etc. The Machining feature has a lot of options and is very smooth while running it on a particular part. The most interesting module being Machining where you can simulate different processes like Lathe Roughing. Catia can generate the G Code for that process. Since you can easily control it to create designs by optimization softwares like ModeFrontier. Teamcenter engagement is a plus, as well. Cons It requires some time to become an expert.
