## What is Session Sauna Booking?

Session is scheduling software built for saunas — where a "slot" is a shared session, not a one-to-one appointment. Set a recurring or one-off schedule with the capacity, duration and price per session, and Session generates the bookable slots automatically. Customers book a space, pay by card (Apple Pay and Google Pay), and reschedule or cancel themselves through a secure link — no account, no back-and-forth. It handles overbooking prevention, per-session capacity overrides, private hire, part-session pricing, waiting lists that auto-notify when a space opens, and automatic confirmations and reminders. Memberships, bundles, gift vouchers and per-guest waivers are built in, with a staff check-in page for arrivals. Free to set up — 0.5% per booking, capped £100/month. Used by community, independent and mobile saunas across the UK and Australia.

Our overall experience has been excellent. The system is intuitive and easy to use for both our staff and customers, and the customer service has been outstanding from day one. Switching over from Acuity was smooth, and any time we've had a question or hit a snag, support has been quick and genuinely helpful. It feels like a platform built with real care, and it keeps getting better.

Pros

This booking system is incredibly user friendly and easy to use, and the customer service is impeccable! It's the perfect solution for sauna businesses, with everything you could possibly need. We especially love the single calendar view and the ability to fully customise our booking page and options, it's made things so much easier for both our staff and our customers. Switching over has been seamless too. Moving from Acuity was straightforward, and whenever we got stuck, Wil was there to help right away.

Cons

The only real con is that it's still a newer platform, so it's under active development and there are occasional tweaks needed here and there. That said, Wil is incredibly responsive and quick to fix or improve things whenever we flag them.

Easy to use, purpose built for saunas, supports our non-profit sauna model. Great value and really easy to navigate.

Pros

The switch to Session has been fantastic: - Much better user interface for booking - Brilliant for one off events - Great reporting ability - Constantly improving its offering - Thorough FAQ and Help Section - Integrates with Stripe well

Cons

Nothing negative to report, everything is working well and Wil the developer is very responsive and we can't wait to see what improvements are in the pipeline.

Our overall experience with Session has been excellent. It has made the booking process feel much more joined up for both our team and our customers. The system is straightforward to use, the design is clean, and it feels like it has been built around the real needs of sauna operators rather than forcing us to work around a generic booking tool. The migration from Acuity to Session has been a really positive step for us. It's made the customer journey clearer, reduced friction, and given us a platform that feels much better suited to managing sauna sessions properly. The support from Wil has also been outstanding throughout, which gives us a lot of confidence in the product long term.

Pros

Session is a brilliant purpose-built booking platform for sauna operators. It has clearly been designed by someone who understands how saunas actually run day-to-day, which makes a huge difference. The platform includes the features you need without feeling overly complicated, and the whole experience is intuitive, well designed, and easy to use, with great reporting. The customer journey is much smoother than something like Acuity, especially for a sauna business where sessions, capacity, memberships, check-ins, and operational details all matter. It feels specific to Glasgow Community Sauna's needs rather than a generic booking system that has been adapted to fit or no longer gets feature updates. Support has also been excellent, as are the docs to go with it. Any time we have had a question or issue, Wil has been incredibly responsive. Bugs are dealt with quickly, and (sensible) feature requests are often added within days where possible. It genuinely feels like the product is being improved in partnership with the people using it. Overall, I can't fault Session. It has made our booking process clearer, easier, and much more streamlined.

Cons

There's very little I can list as a negative. As with any newer or fast-moving platform, there have been the occasional small thing to refine or adjust, but these have always been handled very quickly. Because it's so tailored and continually being developed, there are moments where we spot new things we would like added as we use it more. That said, this has actually been one of the strengths of the platform, because feedback is taken seriously and suggested improvements are turnaround within a couple of days.

Session has been incredible for Leeds Community Sauna, giving us amazing tools to allow us to offer so much more than before, and ensuring key business decisions are based on readily available visitor data. It's incredibly good value too, offering so many amazing features that keep growing – making it more than worth the money.

Pros

Session has so many fantastic features. Some which stand-out are: • Session allows multiple types of sessions and events to all be displayed together in a single calendar view, which can be filtered so certain sessions are easily findable. • The booking journey is quick, smooth and seamlessly integrated with Stripe, allowing for super easy management of payments and refunds. • Session has some amazing reporting, segmentation and data insights, including trackable visitor retention and heat-mapping. • New functionality is being introduced all the time, including lots of new tools around email marketing, memberships, bundles and vouchers. • The switch from our previous system to Session was much more painless than it could have been, with lot of automation making the process really manageable.

Cons

There's nothing I don't like about Session. Where some features were a little weaker, these have all been strengthened in recent months and its amazing how well it's been developed in such a short period of time.

I was apprehensive about a move away from our previous booking system (it was a 'better the devil you know' situation), but I needn't have worried. Wil who created Session is super quick to respond to enquiries and to give advice on set up and any teething problems that users might have. Session is a really streamlined platform for sauna owners / operators and makes scheduling sessions the work on half an hour, when it used to take half a day. Repeating schedules are one of my favourite features, making it so easy to set your hours for a specified period of time, save and you're done. There is also the flexibility to add special one-offs. Session has reduced my administrative workload by allowing customers to book private sessions directly from the website (as opposed to coming through me) and closing all other sessions off when this happens. The inclusion of waiting lists is also really great and gives customers much more autonomy. Customer feedback is that the calendar interface is much easier to use and understand than our previous system, everything is in one place and in a sleek and user-friendly booking page.

Pros

The thing I like most about Session is that it saves me so much time! It is so easy to use. The fact that its designed specifically for my field, by someone who understands what I need as a customer, is invaluable.

Cons

Sometimes the version we use on our mobiles can be a little bit glitchy, like loading sessions an hour earlier, before self-correcting, but this is really a minor in convenience.

I transferred from Acuity- the process took me a couple of weeks, but I could have completed it in a day or two if it had been my sole focus. All of my previous customers and information transferred smoothly. Customer service has been very supportive with a response time of under 24 hours helping me to overcome hurdles. Now that it's set up, I find it much more user friendly than other booking systems I've tried. My customers report the same- they say that it's much smoother to book one or multiple sessions and like the additional features such as upcoming events, add ons, memberships and vouchers.

Pros

I like the fact that this booking system is set up specifically for sauna businesses. This has allowed me to create a specific memebership model that I couldn't create on other booking systems.

Cons

It's taken me a while to solve how to set up gift vouchers and discounts, but other than this itis very user friendly.
