## What is DockDocs?

DockDocs is a privacy-first platform for working with PDFs, with around fifty tools plus document AI. Its core PDF utilities — compress, merge, split, rotate, crop, convert images to/from PDF, add page numbers, redact, and more — run entirely in your browser, so your files are never uploaded; you can confirm the 0-byte upload in your browser's DevTools. These tools are free, with no watermark and no sign-up. Some advanced format conversions (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HTML) and password protection run on a secure server; the tool tells you which. The document AI (chat with a PDF, summarize, compare documents, extract data to a spreadsheet) sends only the extracted text, not your file. When the AI can ground an answer in your document, it highlights the source passage and flags what it can't trace — a citation won't appear for every answer. OCR digitizes scanned documents in the browser.
