September 30, 2024 5.0 My experience with has been 100% positive since I onboarded almost a year ago. The customer service is stellar; the program is user-friendly; the reports are easy to create; and, the website program is easy to set up, revise, and use. Pros My number one favorite thing about is it has an amazing, responsive customer service team! The onboarding one-on-one Zoom meeting was a game changer for me, as I'm an older generation and not as tech-savvy as I'd like to be. My questions that I've had, to date, have been thoroughly answered in a timely manner and with respect and encouragement. I believe my learning curve was greatly reduced because I was able to ask questions and get immediate feedback. My second favorite aspect of Ownerrez, after the live customer service assistance, is the incredibly user-friendly library of videos covering, literally, every single aspect of setting up and using Ownerrez. Step-by-step, easy to understand, screen shots of every step; it makes it really easy to research something I need help with before I have to call or email for assistance. As my confidence has grown in maneuvering and understanding the workings of the site and my website through them, I've become more adept at finding answers myself. My third favorite aspect of Ownerrez is the website capability. I BUILT MY OWN WEBSITE, and I'm an old Boomer! It was that easy and, again, I had easy to follow, step-by-step instructions and access to a live customer rep when I had questions. I love my website and I'm comfortable maneuvering around the dashboard to make changes and/or look for specific data. Cons My experience with has been entirely positive. Otherwise the software is reliable. Our bookings have been on the decline because of the state of the vacation rental industry, and OR isn't adapting to the changing landscape so we're unfortunately moving on to vendors that have more modern direct marketing and guest journey features. I find it ironic that OR is arguing in their support that integration with metasearch is a waste of time when we have ample evidence to the contrary. Pros Overall we've been very happy with when it comes to the channel manager and the PMS system itself but only for vacation rentals. It's definitely a good PMS system. The rates and rules are easy to configure and well thought out. The channel management is pretty good as well. From a control perspective it's really a good channel management tool. Cons My low review score comes from the fact that when it comes to marketing and direct bookings, pretty much fails. If you don't mind the majority of your business coming from the three main channels, then stick with OR. But if you have a multi-unit property, OR doesn't provide what you need. When we dug deeper we discovered that OR has two drastic gaps: one is no support for Google Hotels or Hotel Metasearch in general. Yes they support Google Vacation Rentals but that is not the same as hotels. The second major gap is the terrible integration support for external websites. The WordPress plugin is severely limited in what it can do so the only way to get a good web presence is to work with a third party vendor that took the time to build deeper integration hooks. CRM support is also poor. For example there's no way to let the guests automatically update their email address. We have to copy and paste it manually. Review Source Response from OwnerRez September 16, 2024 This review says some things that are factually incorrect. "Google Hotels" is the same thing as Google Vacation Rentals from an implementation standpoint. The reviewer believes they are two different things, but he is incorrect. GVR is the "Hotels" version of STRs and Google prevents integration partners from listing STR properties as hotels. ie. OwnerRez is not allowed to integrate with the hotels side. Guests can update their email addresses directly (there is a POC and RA guest form for that). Customer support does not take days to get a reply unless the question requires escalation in which case there may be research time involved. Initial customer questions tend to average 24-36 hours average first-response time. SM Sean M. I've onboarded with many different companies for different business solutions and this was hands-down the best experience I've ever had on a product I was very green with to start. She was thorough, and she took ALL the notes for me and gave me step-by-step instructions for each thing I needed after the call to set things up exactly how I want them.
