Pros What I like most about EHS Insight is its flexibility and ease of use. If I had to pick something, it would be that some of the advanced reporting features take a bit of time to learn and configure, especially when building complex dashboards or custom forms. That said, their support team is always quick to help, and once you get the hang of it, the system is incredibly powerful. There are quite a few platforms much more oriented toward smaller companies. Pros The training catalog was extensive, however not on the list of OSHA approved online trainings for any of the big packages (OSHA-10 and 30, HAZWOPER, MSHA pt 46, etc) Cons The customer service team members were not all on the same page, making our time with them a bit problematic. Unfortunately we were mislead into believing their training was OSHA standard. Cons EHS Insight does not support all configurations when prioritized customizations are needed in a very short time. It is great for completing audits and recordkeeping for safety training. There are a lot of options and easily customizable for my plant's needs. Cons SDS database is a little cumbersome, but improvements are happening often and there are always updates that are occurring. Our ISO 9000 and 14000 auditors listed it as a strength in our organization. Pros Our company utilized EHS Insight for 3+ years. In that time we were able to increase the EHS focus by allowing our employees to immediately report all safety and environmental incidents. They are tracked and automatically sent to the concerned party for action. Response and accountability increased 66%. Another option we took advantage of was to create audit check sheets. Audit compliance increased as they could use the phone app to conduct the audit in real time. Cons The number of notifications that our management received was high for each incident reported. This took some time to understand how to limit the notifications for each step of the process. Pros The software is very intuitive for all users. The customer support is beyond great, you get a confirmation email of your submitted request within a couple hours and normally I have a customer support representative reaching out with in 48 hours asking for more information so they can support my needs. Being able to manipulate forms, reports and setting up my dashboard to fit my needs is extremely helpful. The SDS module is built very well, with the one exception, when using the anonymous QR code it does not have a search feature you must scroll through all SDS's alphabetically. The Leadership and upper management are very accessible, I have been able to voice my opinion with them and there was not a sense of dismissiveness that you can get from other platforms. Cons As will all EHS platforms there are certain issues, the couple of requests that I have to ask is this. 1) create a PSM/RMP module or offer individual items that could be built into a PSM/RMP program; 2) bring in micro learning videos, 30 & 40minute videos on basic safety processes are antiquated; 3) there is a real need for operational type training videos, videos that offer basic and advanced training on types of, operations, and mechanics of pump, basic chemical reactionary properties and other operational processes; 4) create a ala-cart style product line that allows for creation of individual reports that will not break the bank; 5) The SDS module is built very well, with the one exception, when using the anonymous QR code it does not have a search feature you must scroll through all SDS's alphabetically. September 5, 2022 4.0 It took me a while to get myself and employees used to using Insight but it has proven to be a resourceful software that meets the company's basic needs. The annual pricing is very reasonable in comparison to many other systems. Pros Like the use of the LMS. Training modules are roughly 30-45 minutes and meets most of OSHA's/ANSI's basic training awareness needs. Simple to use and some modules are available in Spanish. Cons Has too much of an Excel database feel. Missing a couple of functions that I would like to have. The safety data sheet function is a bit unfriendly because I have to upload so many SDS manually. It was difficult to get started as there are a bunch of things that you have to do to get your data in and there is a specific order you have to follow. None of this is provided so you have to continue to reach out to support for that help. Customer service is great!! Pros We have 16 stores across 5 states and it works great for tracking incident events and inspections . Customer Service is awesome. Cons We have 400 employees in 16 stores and training is a big task. This program does not send notifications to the employees when I assign training. Most of the employees are not in front of computer all day and don't login to the program. I have to find another way to let them know they have had training assigned and this defeats the purpose of having an EHS program. I also noticed training is not listed on the list of things to review. Reason for choosing EHS Insight Seemed to have the most diverse capabilities and ease of use. Review Source AZ Aric Z. Improve safety KPIs. Pros The software is mobile first. No other out of the box safety products on the market allow for full usage and control from a mobile device (phone/tablet). Support is knowledgeable and easy to get in contact with via email. Honest with you and do not over promise. Support website is full of great information, easy to search, release notes are great, and product feature requests are easy to submit and track progress. Software updates every two weeks which helps to prove value. Long track record of major upgrades. Cloud hosted so upgrades do not require IT support. Software can be customized which is great option to have, but we use it out of the box and just submit feature requests. Employee integration with Active Directory/Office 365/Single Sign On (Okta/OneLogin) are very beneficial which helps with ease of use. Product has scaled well from test users to 500+ users Highly Recommend Cons No phone support is a little frustrating, but it makes you be concise with your questions and leaves a paper trail. Some forms do not work right for us since our employees move a lot and do not have centralized database for employee locations. More of our problem to solve. Reports are customizable, but some limitations. Jobs/Business Entities cannot be linked to admin/project manger/executive/safety manager for reporting purposes out of the box. March 24, 2017 5.0 EHS Insight has been instrumental in advancing our safety program. With employees spread out across the country, this program has made it easy to not only collect but share information in real time. The app and offline capability even allow our remote employees to stay compliant. The program is extremely easy to navigate. Site Supervisors that were given early access learned the system before formal training just by exploring. The support staff at EHS Insight is above and beyond. In the few instances there have been technical questions, the staff is quick to respond and thorough. If you are looking to consolidate incident reporting, corrective action tracking, audits, inspections, BBS observations, online training, safety meeting records, individual training records and a laundry list of other invaluable tools... do yourself and your company a favor and speak with the folks at EHS Insight. Pros The list of pros is too long for 1500 characters. I think if I had to choose one feature it would be the mobility. being app based, our employees can access the system from anywhere. That decreases the time it takes to enter vital information and increases the real time factor. Cons With the speed and accuracy EHS Insight performs updates and maintenance, there is not time to develop any dislikes. These folks know what they are doing and they do it very well. Cons The issue that was identified was that the incident investigation module did not support associating multiple versions of corrective action plans with a single case that could be a challenge, especially while making follow-ups. This makes it more difficult to trend problem areas related to particular machines over time; I have had to go through cases to determine the particular equipment’s failures. The auto-reminders minimised workload interference while the pre-populated regulation compliance checklists reflected some of the state and federal guidelines. Cons I encountered a limitation in the risk assessment in that one cannot transfer the whole step if he/she feels uncomfortable and it means starting again the form.
