Pros: Vagaro is bette price than competitors and has a pretty up to date UI. It makes online reservation reasonably which is a must when trying to attract millennials. It tries to bring everything in house which could create opportunities for tighter integration. There is some hope that the software will improve as there is a lot of low hanging fruit and their CEO/Head of product has a clear strategy on how to take on the market. Support can be pleasant and responsive if you encounter the right staff. They have a lot of advanced features (though they are missing a lot of polish an finesse-- see below)

Cons: Some of the ui is non intuitive but with creative searching of the support site you can find the answer. It's better if you can get someone to handhold you through the process--- and that's a big if. Software is missing some pretty basic features:

1/ Unable to link directly to a service provider, class, workshop, package, etc. It makes it very difficult to promote these things via ads or social media

2/ E-mails lack calendar reminder attachment for people to add to their calendar

3/ Lack of a list for classes/workshops. Older populations have difficulty finding or seeing the search bar for the classes.

4/ Lacking HIPAA support despite having SOAP note support

5/ Inability to customize new client email, appointment reminders etc.

6/ Inability to run new client discounts.

7/ Inability to actually see how the customers will actually interact with the platform as documentation / demo is woefully inadequate.

8/ Workshops feature is pretty haphazardly put together. It's just a class that runs over a series of dates. No options for early bird pricing. No options for custom dates. You're better off handling workshops through eventbrite or eventbee.

9/ Inability to provide detailed feed back such as this. I'm a customer who's paying _despite_ their shortcomings. I may have even conducted more user testing on Vagaro than the employees. They seem content in having their dirty laundry aired in a public medium.

Overall: Customer service can be spotty. Their support site is reasonable for the basic cases but is severely lacking in the actual nitty gritty of running the operations-- for example issuing refunds and voiding transacions is non-intuitive. Support team ignored my request for a demo. Support team dropped entirely off of my live chat and after ignoring half of my questions, and when they were responsive didn't actually address my full question. Their 30 day trial is a bait and switch since you can't actually test or try the billing flow from the customer's prospective without paying for the first month. I wouldn't go as far as to say that they are scammy but it certainly does not leave a good impression.

Their software is feels designed for salons with a minimal attempt to hamstring it into a fitness scenarios. It can work ok for a sole proprietor in this sense but for anyone who is running a gym with more than one instructor you're stuck between a reasonably good looking piece of software lacking in many features for a reasonable(ish) price and other dated alternatives which checks for more boxes but comes with it's own baggage.

It pains me to says that I'm with this company despite all of their shortcomings. Interactions with support can be pleasant punctuated by frustration. Fairly basic things which are missing is, again frustrating. Choosing Vagaro over the competition is like choosing Comcast because the only other option is get dial up.

Pros: This booking system makes my business so much easier to run as a soloprenuer . It is so much more than just a booking system , it is my website and POS as well. I love how it sends out multiple reminders to clients (3) I believe . My clients love it as well for the ease of use and the reminders. I get compliments on this and how the website looks as well. I love that Vagaro listens to its clients requests and adds new features from time to time . There is also a chat feature for help and on the phone assistance as well. I love the fact that I can sell gift certificates, and cc cards as well . Today I got an email that now if we wish we can have clients pre pay for services. The customer service is just wonderful. I revcently changed the template on my website to something that reflects my business image now . I love how it is easy peasy to do so , without assistance. Many of my clients like the option to book online themselves. I love how to make reports for my accountant is easy as well . Another benefit is email marketing. If you want to know more sign up for the free trial .

Cons: I wish they had an answering service. Maybe one day . They do have a place where you can put a clients formula which is great . But if a client gets multiple services it would be nice if there were multiple type cards for them for , facials , lashes , hair , etc . I wish they also had online forms for clients to fill out and sign . But these are not really cons just potential features that haven't been created yet

Pros: Online booking was a nice perk, although if a client didn't know how to book the first time(new online website) they would add themselves again so deleting a profile found to be quite an ordeal.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service. I've been a user for the past 2 months and can't wait to find a new software company. It started great, so much easier that square appointments, online booking, the works! Wow... no. The booking service works okay, when it wants to open. I have better luck on my phone but being that I have an iPhone X I don't have a headphone jack so to swipe a card I use my iPad. It never works the first, or usually the second time so I have to pull out he reader and plug it back in. Any issues or questions I have leads to me having to wait on hold for customer service for 20+ minutes or waiting for an email response. There are a ton of hidden fees every month that we're never discussed(of course in the fine print but never but an agent) for card processing and I am beyond disgusted at how they are handeling a gift card order I purchased for my new, small business. I paid for perfect gift cards that were designed incorrectly because of me, but because I was told the wrong information by their team during the beginning stages of the ordering process. They are beyond condescending and unwilling to work with me in this issue and even went to the length the add up what both orders plus shipping would cost me if I decide to fix my issue

Cons: I was willing to get past the slower, unreliable point of sale and I can't start to explain how much time and effort went into setting this up and transitioning from another booker is so I'm so discusted to have to do it again due to in my opinion an easy fix by the company. I still can't believe how this matter was handled and how I was spoken to over a small order of gift cards.

You didn't report issues accessing any of the account functions. If you had we would have advised on how to correct any connectivity issues. The mobile CC reader which operates with the Vagaro Pro app does use a headphone jack which works with the iPhone X adapter; we have no issues w/ compatibility/connection reliability. The report of a 20-minute hold time is inaccurate. Even including high call volumes, our average time to answer is 2 mins. We are also hiring more staff as we would rather it be even less time. Rates & fees were disclosed on the merchant services signup page & you had a screen to review the application before signing, disclosing everything. You called 1x regarding merchant services and had all of your questions answered accurately. The call record was reviewed.
Gift card order: design, proofing, and approval process completed. You never told the graphics team you wanted a foil inlay on gift cards and you approved the proof. Mgmt professionally told you all of this.

So far the customer support has been great, and I love they have classes each Monday.

Pros: One vary cool thing about Vagaro is when you sign up as a single business owner or someone with a whole team, the encouraging words "You got this!" Made me smile. I knew this system would be a good fit if it could encourage me along the way to growing my business! What other company does that? The price seems vary reasonable and I love how my clients will get text reminders automatically after booking an appointment with me. Its so important these days as we can get so busy and forget an important appointment. Vagaro Pro seems to be vary user friendly and will be painless to train others to use. I have only been using Vagaro for a few weeks now for the free trial and I love the ease of navigation this program offers. I have used other computer systems and for the price I feel I will be getting quality for the investment. I have called tech support twice now and each time I have called with a question it seems as though the tech support team member was truly happy to help me. I also love how they offer classes weekly. This will be a great way to help me to continue to learn and train my staff. I have been in transition moving my business and location. The option to transfer all my client data from a spread sheet or my cell pone has been so helpful and a time saver. I feared I was going to have to enter each client one by one, but the import option made it so easy and only took a few minutes to do. I will be telling other business owners about this booking system. Its great!

Cons: One thing if find frustrating with most electronics is that the options change with different devices. The same is true with booking stytems. I was able to down load the Vagaro app for my cell phone, but not my desk top. It would be nice not to have to log on each time on my desk top, and just rather click an icon and my books open for me like it does on my cell phone. I would also like the open to test trial the Vagaro credit card services, but that is not included in the trial. One things I found challenging is customizing my service menu. Vagaro has so many services already input in the statement I have had to go through and delete many services I do not offer as well and filtering through the descriptions of each service I do want to keep. It would make it more simple to keep the service menu empty so the business owner can customize without having to delete and edit prices for services they want. Though, may be helpful to someone brand new to the industry. I also do not care for my clients to have access to online booking. I would rather be in charge when a guest needs a reservation so we give proper timing for each individual service. The only valuable thing for online booking would be for more guest control. I do not want to that up or maybe the idea is just too new for me. Also, you don't know is booking. Everything is so electronic these days. I would rather talk to a real person about my reservation then just book online, thinking costumer service communication.

Ok for single operator. Not effective for bigger salon.

Comments: Their customer-service department seems to be filled with condescending 20 somethings who enjoy attempting to make users feel inadequate. The last 3 times I've had to call-in and ask a question or have voice a concern about the product, I've been spoken down to by someone half my age.

Pros: The calendar is easy and self explanatory. It seems easy to use Even for people with no computer experience . If you're still using pencil and paper , this is way better than that . Probably a great product for both renters. Clients like notification system.

Cons: If you've used any other salon softwares that are in a high performance category as far as reporting and/or user experience this will not suit your needs . It is very rudimentary in its performance . It does not allow for any customization in reports or in applications . Many features are archaic and need updating. The feature to logout users after a certain amount of time can't recognize the difference between idle and not idle so it will log you out and lose your work in the middle of a session . The "marketing" section is mediocre at best . IF you've already been running a computerized operation for 5 yrs or more, you will find the software completely inefficient . It does not save your work if you're in the middle of procedures when it logs out . It cannot tell the difference between tasks in progress and idleness . If you leave the program wide-open and it doesn't log anybody out automatically, then your separate users have no recognition within the system, Unless they individually and manually log themselves in-and-out every time . SO MANY SILLY TIME WASTING things that MUST be done manually every session. Yuck.

My salon has used this software since we opened almost 4 years ago, absolutely love it.

Pros: The online booking feature is a MUST with our clients, they absolutely love it. Also, the fact that you can have your website attached, a beautiful website at that. The ease of entering in all of our services into the service menu, our prices, and individual time intervals per service and per provider. But, the BEST thing about vagaro, is the ease of paper work. We do our daily tally and weekly tally sheets, and vagaro makes that absolutely a breeze. I am part owner, salon manager, and reception and I do all of the employees paperwork and money handling, and vagaro is absolutely amazing and makes the process so much easier than other software I've used over the years. The transaction list, to be able to go through all checkouts for the day, to be able to refund, charges, cash, and checks all separated into categories. It's just amazing. The checkout through vagaro is nice as well, you can put in the tip amount, check, cash, or charge, without using their merchant services, which is a benefit because you have an actual layout of each customer, each transaction, whereas on the credit card machine, which is completely separate, you can only see customer, and how much paid, including tip. Since, we opened this salon, we have only had vagaro, and we will continue to only have vagaro. It's the best salon and spa software that is available. No matter the size of salon, or services offered. This system works for everyone. Also, the text message updates they send out when theyre down.

Cons: There are really only a few things that I like the least about Vagaro. One would be, the system issues, especially with the credit card processing. When we first opened we were using vagaro as our merchant as well for our credit cards, and we had nothing but issues. Even now, I get the texts whenever there is a software malfunction, and it seems most of the malfunction is with credit card processing. So, we ended up having to buy an actual credit card machine and go with a different merchant provider, and now all of that is resolved. The next thing I like the least is, you can't separate your business at all. We have both tanning and a hair/nail salon. So, our tanning hours are slightly different from our hair/nail hours, and there is no way on vagaro, or our website, to separate and add additional hours. The last thing I like the least, is that Vagaro really only allows you to add services, there's no where for us to list our prices for tanning on our website, unless we take a picture of the menu and post it in our pictures, which would be out of place.

Overall: The salon benefits tremendously from using this software. First being, salon operations. The overall smooth running of the salon. With the booking block scheduling, color coordinated services, customized services, and application/processing time being adjustable, it just makes the salon run so much smoother. The service providers never struggle with their time management thanks to vagaro. Each service booked in their book is booked appropriately by time, which makes a smooth transition from one client to the next. Also, when checking customers out, it is super easy. Being a booth rental salon, who still functions as a team and uses one system, one receptionist, one merchant, one credit card machine, it makes it easy. It breaks down each providers day, total services, total money taken, etc. So, when it's time to closeout, there are no mishaps, you know exactly what happened with each client, by name, by service, by provider. You can truly check anything you need to. Also, when clients move their appointments around, as clients always do, vagaro has it set up very smoothly. It's very easy to move a clients appointment from one day to the other. Also, having the business website attached to the actual software is a major bonus! A lot of new clients find us using vagaro. The new customers can see customer reviews, they can see our service menu and prices, our hours, everything they need to know, and they can book online right then and there! Our clients truly love booking online, without that feature, a lot of our clients would have a hard time booking appointments because their schedule changes from day to day. With this option, the night before they know they are going to be free for a service, they can open up their phone and book for the appointment they need with the service provider of their choice! Vagaro, with the few faults it may have, is hands down the BEST salon software you can get today! It's a one size fits all type of system that has worked while we were an hourly salon, then to a commission salon, and now a booth rental salon. Vagaro is so great that we REQUIRE all of our service providers to use this system! The providers that have been with us since the beginning wanted to stay with vagaro. The new providers were amazed by the system and were happy they made the switch! Anyone who has ever used this system would be a customer, no matter the size or type of salon you have! It's the best! Almost 4 years with vagaro, and many more to come!

Pros: -so far, EVERYTHING!

-incredibly easy transition of hundreds of clients over the span of a month; the app is user friendly and self-explanatory

-clients of all ages and backgrounds have eagerly accepted the integration of automated booking

-easy to book off personal days without clients privy to days off

-easy to edit all aspects of the business (clients, hours of operation, services, etc)

-no major software bugs; my business operations have never been hampered by software glitches

Cons: After using this software for almost 1 year, I still haven't taken the time yet to explore the fullest capabilities of the software. However, I'm hoping it will be compatible with my Canadian Moneris account in respect to accounting and reporting through the client database and service totals, especially as I add staff to my growing business and move into a management role.

The Vagaro name took a while for clients to adapt to - we still don't know how to properly pronounce it!

Overall: My growing home-based nail business was using text message to book hundreds of clients. Switching to automated online booking was THE BEST BUSINESS DECISION I have ever made! It saves me from answering 600+ texts/week at all hours of the day/night so I can better focus my time and energy to providing a quality nail service. Automated booking removes the human errors of miscommunication and mistakes while providing each client ownership of their appointment, thus reducing no-shows. VAGARO online booking was a smooth transition and the App's simple user interface has made clients confident to book/rebook/cancel appointments any hour of the day. Clients can see all available appointments and compare against their schedule, as well as receive reminder emails that could include pertinent details, such as where to park or methods of accepted payment. I searched online and at beauty conventions for the perfect online booking system that could grow with my business needs, and VAGARO is the best value and service available on the market. It was a catalyst to my business development and the very definition of learning how to work smarter, not harder.

Recommendations to other buyers: Perfect for a home-based business or growing service that want to automate communications in order to save time, energy, and increase efficiencies, and thus provide better business services: work smarter, not harder!

Pros: The ease of use, and the fact that clients get repeat reminders. It has increased client retention. It also shows new clients that I am serious about the business. The website was so easy to set up.

Cons: It does not work with Square. I was using Square before I started with Vagaro. I love Square too. I think the ability to text blast would be great. I know it takes me days to read my own email. A text is read that day. I do wish I had more space on the website. I do offer more services than the average cosmetologist. I also wish there was an easier way to get products that I sell into Vagaro. I think this should be something that Booking systems and beauty companies work on together. it would be great if you could just dropa Dermalogica App into Vagaro. When prices change all products are updated. and so on . Any product line that a salon or spa could use should have something to just ad in easy peasy.

Overall: I really love this booking system . I find it easy to use and reliable. I also love the chat feature. If I don't understand something or need help with something or just plain forgot how to do something Vagaro tech support is there to help. I first got it because I needed a website ASAP to look professional. I also needed a reliable booking system for myself and my clients. it has increased client retention and clients that did not like to book in advance no do so because they don't have to remember to call and then play phone tag until we get to talk. I am a sole proprietor. Even good people forget appointments , with the 3 reminders that clients get its hard to forget to come in. If they still do forget or no show you can check with Vagaro to see if the text actually went through. I had a client that said she never got the message. She seemed honest but I did not see how that could be possible. I checked with Vagaro and there was an issue with her phone service. I don't do this with everyone, but in this case she really did not get the message. I do love that wen a client confirms the appointment the color in the appointment book changes to orange . If not I call them up. I love how it keeps track of what I do and what the clients get. I also love that I can set rules for online booking. I have mine set to 48 hour advance booking notice and then I have to approve it. But its possible to have same day booking open as well or not at all. I can keep track of how I I take payment cash or credit or check. The gift certificates are wondeful too. You can have a little creativity with them. Now and then someone will call when I am closed for a gift. I can send them a gift certificate through email. You can also do email blasts. I think a text blast would be great too, although they don't offer this at the moment. .

Recommendations to other buyers: Just get it ! You will love it as I have. It will grow with you. When you get new people working with you , you can add them to the booking system as well. I have tried a couple of others and this is working well for me. The online chat help feature is great. And you can call if need be.

Cons: Confirmations text do not work half the time.

Services seem to go missing.

The program doesn't always send of the confirmation texts.

Clients click the confirmation link on their end... but does not show up on the computer.

Sometimes when booking a client.. the program will book the client every single day throughout the whole schedule to the end of time... the only way to fix it.. is to reboot the program.

Occasionally the program will send out text after text to the same clients notifying them that they have an appointment. One of my clients received 14 text right after another. Talk about being a pain in the butt.

The Do Not Notify client tab does not work. When changing a clients appointment around... there is a choice to notify the client or do not notify client. This function dos not work. It always notifies the client either way.

When choosing to No Show a client.. it shows up the almost the same color as the booking color, very difficult to see the difference. It should be a totally different color not associated with the booking color. The Red and Orange is almost the same shade. Maybe No shows should have a black strip.. just a suggestion.

Beware that Vagaro fees are in USD funds.. NOT CANADIAN.

FYI... Since the last June update, I have had to contact customer support DAILY! sometimes twice a day! UGH''''

Vagaro seems to go offline a few times a month, such an inconvenience.

Their updates are done in the middle of a work day. =(

Overall: Every since your last update in June of 2016 your program has not worked properly! Very very disappointed. For the price you charge.. it's defiantly not worth it. =(

Recommendations to other buyers: They need to get rid of all the bugs they have created with their last two updates, or put it back to the way it was. Vagaro just so you know.... bad... is much better then worse. =( I do not recommend using this program to anyone, well not until they fix all their issues. The only reason I am staying with it is... its so much of a hassle to change to a new company, so much work to reset up all the info. It took me almost one month to input all the information in properly into the program. I could not imagine starting all over with another company. But... if another company would transfer all my info.. I'd defiantly try another software company. It's really too bad, because I believe Vagaro has potential of being a good usable software.

You advertise for them whenever you reach out to clients

Runs slow

Credit card processing is not the best; your money is held hostage for days at the end of the week and batches out to early

Your clients can be enticed by other salons in your area that also uses the site if they add their location

Overall: I have used Vagaro for about three years. Initially the bells and whistles are enticing. You begin with the $25 fee, but the functionalities you need to get the most of the site come at additional fees. If you do not add these "monthly" fees the site is very bland.

If you want to use the features such as: credit card capture, requiring a credit card to be enter by clients to book and other options such as these, you must add their chosen processing company along with authorize.net; of course with other added monthly fees.

The customer service agent are limit in their knowledge and frequently tell you they will add your issue "in the que" for the technical department. They have a forum where you can discuss and suggest issues and request features, but it seems to be just for show for the past few years.

When you use their credit card processing you are automatically batched out at "4PM". Whatever income you make after 4pm will be added to the next day. Any income made after 4pm Thursday will not be added to your bank account until "MONDAY MORNING". Meaning anything after 4pm Thursday, all of Friday's income and Saturday's income will not be added to your account (including tips) will not be added until MONDAY.

The credit card processing company is very hard to contact.

The mobile credit card device has not been updated to read card chips , but we have been told for almost a year it will be available "in about a month".

The system is very slow. Make sure you have a mobile device AND your computer just is case it is on the fritz.

They did what they initially called emergency maintenance on the Friday before the 4th of July without any notice. We could not use the site at all. No new appointments, could not check anyone out and if you did not have a hard copy our product prices you could not sell ANYTHING for about 4 HOURS in the middle of the day. They system was visibly on the verge of malfunctioning for days, but they did not send out any emails preparing us for the system being shut down, but they did send one early that day to alert us about a new feature .....

To sum it up, while there are many features they come at a price, with mediocre customer service, many restrictions on receiving your funds and you advertise their service every single time you send out a email, text or any other notice, but you are added to their very saturated search engine and your clients can be enticed by other salons in your area.

Recommendations to other buyers: Listen to your clients. Read the forum to see what WE need to function , as we are actually working with the site.

Comments: We've been using Vagaro since opening in Feb 2015 and we've seen many changes and updates and 99% of them have been fabulous. The development team is pretty receptive to new ideas and I see requests that we've made become a "new feature" many times so I know they are listening to the needs of their customer. Customer Service Chat knows me well... even though I wonder if they do a quick game of "Rock...Paper....Scissors" when they see me pop up on chat they're always happy to answer a question and walk us through something. :) The software itself is very user friendly and most of our clients say that the online booking features are fast and easy! I have no doubt that Vagaro will get better as they grow more customers. I'm sure for the independent service provider the core needs are 100% met. Pros: Easy to use for both Staff and Online Booking for Clients. Staff loves the App to keep an eye on booking. Marketing tools are a good business driver. Business reports are getting better with every update. Online tutorials are great for new staff learning system. Online chat option is AWESOME! Customer Service is A+

Cons: -Cancelation/ Waiting List needs to be better- it's currently not useable for the large number of requests we have for a cancelation list. -We've had some retail snafu's but those are getting better as well. -Marketing promos could use a "retail" option. -Checkout could have some updated options like a "hold in cart" so if you have to interrupt a sale you don't lose everything you put in checkout screen.

Recommendations to other buyers: Smaller salons will love this. Larger salons will have to be patient. We have 16 Service Providers and it works well for us.

Over all the company has been great for my business. I recommend to any salon wishing to grow.

Cons: The one thing they have not changed is the ability to customize more than 1 processing time per section with a client assigned to the same stylist. They have the notification setup not for solo salons but for clients that have to see multiple specialist in one section. Im a solo salon I do everything myself. So I don't split the service by doing the relaxer color and sending the client to different stylist to roller set the hair and sit them under the dryer. So I hate there is no consideration for this kind of customer. I have to create two separate appointment which means the clients get two or 3 separate time notifications. So the client is confused. We note them as a no show not knowing they thought there was an error and show up later scheduled time for the roller set portion at 3:00 instead of 12:00 for the actual start of the service. I now use the personal time off option to avoid 2 notification. But if the client cancels their actual starting appointment online the blocked time I made to roller set the hair remain on the schedule because its really not Linked to the actual appointment. Im patient that if others are open about this same concern it will be changed.

Overall: Professional presence to new customers, a way to notify customers of appoints and huge variety of reports for taxes and clients review.

Pros: pricing is very fair for what you get. VaGARO packs a powerful punch in every aspect of running a business, as well for stylist or chair renters. ...Customer love the confirmation notices and as a result more customers are pre-booking(especially guys) who used to be notorious calling last second. & educational videos on how to use vagaro & customer service are both excellent. They are always making improvements. It is certainly paying for itself.

Cons: it could be my tablets,phone or me, but sometimes searching for a client can get a little tricky. for instance , if i search for a customer and start with a lowercase letter but originally inputted with a capital letter, their name sometimes wont show up on 1st search but always on the second, its minor issue and it could just be me or tablets. BUT It is the only glitch iv'e ever had with vagaro.

Overall: IT's a God send, i tried a few others and just simply was a waste of time and money. The other stylists love it also, even the one who always says she's technology challenged , found it very easy to learn. & the customers who are using the APP or going to www.vagaro.com are singing its praises also, "so much easier to check their schedule & mine at the same time whenever its convenient for them & more efficient than calling the salon.

Pros: the viusal design for left brain people in the world! i love the reports are listed up and down!

Cons: I do NOT like the pop ups each time- but I get it! nor do we LIKE the screen going both left to right and top to bottom, It is hard if you are a visual learner! i also know that there is a more simple way to add inventory for both salon use * back bar and retail. I have never had one assistant enter the new inventory properly until this year! 10+ years - the back bar and inventory system should be more user-friendly!!!

Pros: Pricing is excellent.

Cons: Does not do much of what I want it to do. It is very very basic and probably over-simplified. For example, if you have spa packages that contain more than 3 treatments, the system won't allow it and you cannot sell your packages online. If you want to sell memberships, it's too basic & limiting in many ways, but one example is that members cannot share or you can't have particular other features. I also highly feel that their colors are very ugly, limiting and odd, meaning they don't even produce the most basic spa type or beautiful colors to use. Flamingo pink and dirty green are not ideal spa colors. I've seen our customers complain and not want to use their online gift certificates so they drove in to get our more beautiful ones at the spa.

I have felt sometimes that their customer service is lacking, sometimes unknowledgeable & borderline rude people, including the manager who was very rude & actually lied to me.

Overall: This software appears to be more suitable for an individual, not a day spa. While the cost is probably the best out there, their system is limiting to a day spa or other multi-staffed entity that wants to operate at a higher level. I really think Vagaro has great potential and they have great ideas & features. For example, I like the fact that you don't have to have an outside company for your email lists and you can also send custom emails & newsletters within their system of templates that are included. I also love their mobile app, very easy & simple, customers love it too! They have customer service available some on weekends & evenings too. There are other customer Service managers who truly knows good customer service. I wish they were all consistently good & customer oriented. I also like that their merchant processing is simple & in-house, and you only get charged one fee, nothing hidden. However, I don't like the non-swiped card fee as I think it's too high. I know they're always working on improving the system and I do believe in a few years it will get much better, hopefully. I think if they were to listen to customers like me, then it will. Again, they have great potential, but I am in the process of leaving them because my business is needing those features & improvements right now.

Recommendations to other buyers: Listen to your customers, be willing to make changes, don't tell them that you've got other projects, that it will be years before you think about what they're saying, and above all, don't LIE to them. My advice is to make sure you fully explore it and be sure of what you're getting & what your needs are.

Pros: Being the owner Everything I need it for is there. I can cut down on no call no shows by having clients enter their CC info, and it bonus out by letting me be CASH FREE. I am able to do inventory and charge for services. *** I would love if there was a way for walk ins to just purchase product with out being on the actual schedule/calendar. I had to add an add on for product purchase then go in and add prices for the product and add it in to their service in order to charge. I fell like that's an extra step that don't need to happen. If someone come in off the street rather client or not I should have a option to just charge them for product instead of booking them then charging for the product. other than that I love the product and what it offers. I have not went into customizing my site just yet so I cant comment on that. just yet. I have IT experience so its easy for me but I'm noticing clients especially older ones have trouble locating functions like posting for reviews or booking services if there is only one service tech. not sure why but that's has been my feed back.

Cons: not easy for clients to leave a review.... Once they receive a Receipt. I feel they should get an option to leave a review after each service by the click of a button from their text and or email.

I have not found a option that allows me to count how many ACTIVE clients I have on my roster.

Overall: The ease of clients scheduling their own appointments at their convenience. And the ability for them to see when I am available for the service they would like.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would like a search engine to find things faster. I don't want to have to load up the whole list of customers, because that takes time to load up then you type the person's name. That takes to long when you have multiple people on hold. Also I would like to see a list or just the last date of when they last came in for rescheduling an appointment. It takes to long for it to load up all that information. Oh and more color coded options to have for not just appointments but also blocking off schedules for personal time, vacation, or notes. This would help to schedule certain services within that time frame and can have the option to deny a service in that time slot too. For example, Getting ready for a out of work function but can still come in for work to do only trims, or easy clean up work, but can't do a full on coloring session even if there is time, because still need to run errands for the function. Pros: This software is pretty simple to set up and use. It has a very mobile friendly app to help you do your work and scheduling on the go along with a "widget" for android users.

Cons: The only con I have found with this app is that, when using it to schedule chemical hair services with a follow-up service after (ie. color and cut) if you input a gap into the service settings it shows that you are unavailable during the processing time. If you don't, when scheduling multiple appointments for the next appointment it will put the haircut directly after the color which you then have to go in and physical edit. And then when doing that, you have to make sure to deactivate the "notify client" button so that the client doesn't get the editted info or else they get all confused.

Overall: I stumbled upon vagaro when looking for an affordable software system for my small salon business. I was previously using a system that wasn't very mobile friendly and after doing some research this system/app was highly recommended. Very happy with its services.

Recommendations to other buyers: I love the "email receipt" feature. In salons, many times, you don't necessarily get a receipt so this feature is great for clients records and your own sanity as well. Any stylist knows that, while its not all of them, some clients are always looking for a deal. So many of them (eventhough they get the same thing every time) will come in and play dumb about the price, hoping you will lower it. It is so easy to say, "You're getting your receipt emailed to you so you can always know what you paid."

The software is good but sometimes it doesn't work as smoothly as I would like it to.

Pros: Its easy to use and very self explanatory which makes it easier to train new employees on how to use the software. The reports are very useful for the marketing and management team.

Cons: Sometimes customers don't get the notifications for their appointment or to confirm their appointment.

Sending individual emails to clients from here is also difficult. I still haven't figured it out actually, it only lets you do email promotions and it doesn't let you pick what clients you want to send it to. Given that we have loyal clients and walk-ins we would like to be able to select who we send certain promotions to, whether its a special for all clients that have been coming to us since we opened, or flash sale that is only new clients. That would be a great feature specially for the marketing team, it would make it a lot easier given that all the customer emails are already on the account.

Overall: I have a data base now for all my clients with their appointments, what services they've received from us, their contact info and so on. something else i forgot to mention in the cons section is that, theirs no section to input clients different social media account names for us to keep on fill for our marketing team. that is also something that would make their job a bit easier.

Overall: I have been with the same stylist monthly (if not more than once a month) for years. She was previously using a different on-line booking system which I was fine with using up until this last year. The system she had successfully been using started to have some major hiccups not only with a simple way for clients to book but additionally, they incorrectly were charging people despite all of the effort her clients made . Their incompetence in customer service, the difficulty, time and money it has cause not only myself and other clients but also our Stylist is incomprehensible. It is clear that the main functioned seemed to be consumption of others time and money.

She recently switched over to Vagaro.

Vagaro has completely transformed the users experience for booking online. I am again a believer that you CAN do most things on the internet, like utilizing a globally used system. I have watched the multi-facueted difficulties a business goes through when dealing with and/or represented by seemingly vengeful and obviously obsolete systems; specifically an online booking system.

Vagaro has amped her business back up (as far as I can see/hear) and the interface from a clients perspective is a breeze!! No questions, but if you have them they respond. I tested it out a bit just to make sure my appointment and credit card wouldn't get screwed with (she also confirmed neither had occurred). Vagaro or bust!!

Recommendations to other buyers: Most people can text, apparently everyone can yelp, not everyone can use a booking system. Thank you for being the best - now lets amp it up! :)

Overall: Vagaro is an amazing, easy and simple software. I absolutely would recommend this software to ANYONE in the business of hair, tanning, or any type of scheduling type of jobs. It is so easy to use and easy to work with especially when I am showing a new employee how to use it. For me I can book appointment every 15 minutes and I can set the time limit of how long a service may take. So if I book someone for our Infrared sauna, then it automatically books that person for a 45 minute slot. If I have a spray tan during that time I put that next person in and it doesn't affect anything. Vagaro is also my website as well where people can book from and my email blast go out from there. On top of my emails going out I can also choose to connect what my email is to Facebook and Twitter. I keep track of my sales through Vagaro by printing out different reports. Also my inventory and checking out clients is all connected in one simple and easy software. Plus you will not find anything cheaper than $35 per month. If you get a new employee who needs the site as well they can have their own scheduling for only an extra $25 per month. It is simplying amazing! VAGARO!!

Pros: How easy it was to accept clients online to start booking themselves (once they got the hang of it) saves me a lot of time. Love that it reminds your clients and that you have the option to email.

Cons: The face that you cant delete a customers email if they opened up multiple accounts. The functionality online could be better for clients. They hate that they have to keep putting in dates when they are just trying to figure out what available in upcoming weeks when they don't have a specific date in mind. I also wish you could search evening or morning appts it would be easier for clients who are looking for specific times that have to keep refreshing the page.

Overall: have had it for many years and its very functional for what i use it for. Only thing i would complain about is the functionability for my clients online they wish it was a bit more user friendly like it is for us on the professional side. The credit card feature is another I didn't like just wasn't fond of their merchant account side to run credit cards too many third parties to deal with. But those are things that are very minor and your clients can set up with you before they leave if they are having problems and you don't have to use there merchant account to accept credit cards.

Overall: I have been using Vagaro for since I became a booth renter March 06, 2011. I can not tell you how easy it made my clients to be able to book online and how easy it was for me to book clients on my phone if I was on the go. In fact the ease of booking made my business grow substantially. The reporting features made it easy to see how I was doing and where my business was coming from either phone appointments or online. Eventually my business grew large enough that I opened my own salon and Vagaro was right there with me for that. I added my additional employees and opened calendars for them and we took off! Again the reporting features helped so much with payroll and taxable income amounts. Eventually booking through Yelp became available and new clients could just click the link and be taken right to Vagaro, it was an awesome move on Vagaro's part to enable that. Fast forward a couple of years and now I have no employees and only booth renters in my salon and everyone uses Vagaro here. If someone searches the name of the salon on Vagaro it brings up each stylist's personal calander and they get the one that they need. Vagaro has been with me through it all and I am still with them because it is a quality product that delivers consistently.

Comments: Overall very good to excellent. I checked out many many competitors before choosing and after 9 months I am happy with my selection. Very good easy to access support if needed.

Pros: The online scheduling and the integrated credit card processing works great and our staff and clients are liking it. The Apps are a plus too so the staff always has access to their schedule and the client app is a hit. I hesitated switching from my previous software as setup always takes a lot of time for a dozen technicians (no matter what any provider tells you), and I was unsure that I could trust clients to book online without problems. I made the move and was pleasantly surprised how well the online booking worked and the response we received. However, I am glad I waited as these systems are now ready for prime time. The monthly price is reasonable and no up front costs. No worries about backing up at the salon anymore. I 'owned' my previous software so I was not sure I wanted to go online/cloud/subscription but it is a good value. Nice closing out clients on ipads at the desk or anywhere in the salon.

Cons: The daily drawer cash count is primitive. It does not know if you added money to the drawer, took tips out or did paid outs. It does not keep a record of counts during the day. I had to make a spreadsheet to handle these duties.

Pros: It's very attractive and quite easy to use, once you get adapted from whatever you were using before. I had quite a bit of data to transfer over from my old platform and I found it quite quick and easy to sit down at my desktop and pump it all out in batches. I am excited to be able to share this with my clients!

Cons: I would love to be able to enter packages with multiple service types. Additionally, I would like the ability to enter a past checkout date for services and packages, for accurate reporting. When I switched over to this platform, I needed to enter all existing packages for continuity, but the reports reflect all packages being purchased on the date I entered them all. My packages are unlimited and run in time increments instead of quantity of services. So beginning and end dates are important.

I would also like to be able to customize payment types for more accurate reporting. I saw the instructions for creating a GC for the month of groupons, etc...but it would make so much more sense to be able to create my own payment types so I can segregate for reporting, as well as split them up more easily at checkout.

Overall: I had tried Vagaro years ago, and while they were awesome even back then, I chose another provider due to just a few features that streamlined my business. NOW, I've decided to come back because they've really stepped up their game (without raising prices)! There are a couple of tweaks I hope to see in the near future, but overall, this is a fantastic platform for the cost! Good job, guys!

Recommendations to other buyers: I use my tablet, phone and desktop for making changes and it seems to take some time to refresh so that the changes are visible across all 3 platforms. This is fine when I'm updating 1 appt at a time, but when I've entered multiple changes, it can be a bit confusing. It's not a huge deal but I nearly overlapped clients the other day.

Overall: I have had Vagaro now for over 3 years. I had loved it in the beginning. It was easy to learn and worked great and had decent customer service to answer questions I had.

However, over the years I have witnessed and had to deal with a quickly declining company. The service now has become terrible. Vagaro crashes on both the web and the app, sometimes for 10 minutes but up to 4 hours and no one can be reached or the issue can't be resolved! This has become ever more frequent, sometimes once a month for hours! Trying to run a business blind is near impossible, and when I explained that the frequent crashes affect my entire business and stylists and create disorganization and ultimately a loss in sales on services and products, they could not even return my call or compensate me in any way after being a loyal customer.

They also have not updated their system with the modern times including new chip readers and do not seem to have many answers when asked questions about future necessities,

I am very sad to say that Vagaro has gone downhill and that I will be discontinuing service with them. In a business world, it is best to be professional and they can not even do that.

Pros: Online booking features, Salon personnel management features, integrated social and email marketing tools

Cons: No 3rd party integration plugins for popular website CMS platforms such as Wordpress, no mobile responsive GUI for when online booking is integrated with salon websites outside of Vagaro. Vagaro forces you to build your website on their platform which is horrible compared to other solutions like Wordpress. They should get out of the website business and focus on enabling their customers to rather integrate their functionality into popular website platforms like Wordpress or other CMS solutions by developing plugin technology to leverage their customer data. Customers should easily be able to push the online booking from Vagaro through Wordpress and Vagaro's email marketing data through popular clients like Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, etc. This is not possible and their support site is full of bugs. They have a chat window on their main support page that constantly refreshes when you visit, so you can't even look anything up.

Pros: I love that I can schedules clients from my phone when I'm traveling. I can see my schedule at anytime, anywhere, and have access to all my clients info if I'm away from the salon. Great way to track profits and losses from services and retail...

Cons: Wish I could arrange appointment inside other appointments instead of beside each other. The pop up window on the side opens ever time I log on , wish it didn't when I'm in a hurry . It sends out a text to clients when I move their appointment, even when I mark " don't notify". It is bothersome to the client when moving several of their appointments at one time. They get text after text after text...

Occasionally they website has gone down but Vagaro is great at letting us know and get it back up right away. If you ever loose your server for any reason, you will not have access to your appointment books. The pro's far out way the con's.

Overall: Makes my job easier to schedule and keep track of the books. Also, clients don't miss appointments because of the text reminder. Money is not lost :)

Pros: I love being able to run reports, capture client info/ spending habits, the ability to capture credit card information when booking, and the ease of running a promotion and tracking gift certificates. I love the auto reminders for appt confirmations and the ability to pad appt times so clients don't get double booked. By the way, I am the 2017 referral winner for Vagaro, so I talk up this company all the time!!! Couldn't run my biz without it.

Cons: The marketing templates look a bit elementary, so I have to upload my own images since I'm not a huge fan of the premade ones. I usually just use mailchimp for marketing because of the templates. Also, every Massage & spa forum online says how Vagaro REALLY needs to get a SOAP note for massage therapists, as well as online intake/ consent forms for clients to digitally fill out. I really wish Vagaro was compatible with SQUARE, bc I refuse to use Vagaro's Point of Sale system for services bc the fees are slightly higher than square.

Comments: Pros:

Clients love the ease of use from their end. Love that everything is available on my mobile phone.

Cons:

Doesn't seem to be designed for larger salon and spas. No hold button in the checkout. So if you need to add in product or services you can't do this prior to your guest coming up to pay. When you plug in a gift certificate as payment you don't get the remainder total after. You need to look under the customer management feature. This takes time. There are 4 tax options to check, however, you can only select 1. In Canada, some provinces have seperate tax rates for the provincial tax and the Canadian tax. You can seperate these out by selecting 2 taxes. My tax reports are a nightmare to figure out. If you use the marketing emails beware of saving it as a draft. If you select certain customers to go send to, save the draft, leave the screen and go back to send, you lose the clients you selected. Had 1 email go out for a coupon meant for 1 client, sent to all my clients. We had to send out a follow up email honoring it for everyone to provide the customer service. Cost my buisness about $3000. When I called vagaro customer support the didn't seen to care. They need to seperate the email marketing and the promo marketing. They both appear on the email sent to clients, so they get duplicate info, seems unprofessional. When I called in to ask if there was a way around this the rep told me I send out a "million emails". Pardon me, but I am using your application as it is meant to. We have sent out 5 in 2 and a half months and 2 were because of your mistake. Inventory is a nightmare. We presell products that are special order and not on the shelf. You can not go into negative numbers for inventory and if you have 0 quantity the receptionists cannot even find the product or price under their access. Wish you could select and deselect each access ability for all employees. You only have a few choices. There is no edit ability for cashed out transactions. Just an undo checkout button. You loose all info when u hit this button. Connection is slow. I have high speed internet and spend a lot of time waiting for it to load.

Overall :

Customer service has not been very helpful except for 1 gentleman I have spoke to. It needs to update on the management end of the software. The price is fantastic however.

Comments: They have a 30 day trial.

Pros: User friendly for both clients and service providers. We don't answer our phone rather, we have instructions on our voice mail for the client to go to the website and book directly. This saves time for both the clients and service providers. The system also has a complete point of sale system. It includes everything from checking a client out, rebooking, adding inventory with min/max reports, gift cards and the ability to print gift cards, Employee management with time clock and lots of different reports. They even have website and website support. The customer services and tech support is great as well. They have a pop up instant chat, which they are very responsive. I've been using Vagaro for about 6 years.

Cons: Wish I would have had Vagaro sooner. I love this program and my clients do too. I've used different scheduling system for brief time and by far Vagaro is superior.

Pros: Ease of use, the price for the value and the services that are available standard would be a la cart with other providers. Communication with customers is important and the reminders and email communication are great with Vagaro.

Cons: Membership structure was set up only for billing and not for tracking prepaid services. We found a way to get around that by using a point redemption structure. Works for us right now but that may have to change as our company grows.

Overall: Vagaro is worth it! Trust me, we tested the waters and came back to Vagaro after a few short months. We are a small business and found that even the basic features with Vagaro met our needs better than the excess features of other service providers. We offer some services that were not set up in the existing Vagaro system and customer service helped us customize to book these services. The membership features could be improved upon but we have found a way to make the current structure work for us. Booking & checkout is user-friendly and quick, which I love. Customer service agents we have spoken with every time have been wonderful and patient. We even spoke with a Rep at a trade show who took the time to show us how to better use some of the features and we were existing customers. Super Impressed!

Pros: I like the fact I do not have to do a reminder call every day. There are features I am not fully using because it does not apply to my business. but as I expand I can use all the features.

Cons: I think if I had to find a least like...when the wifi is slow and I cannot get onto the appointment calendar to book appt, and I have to wait. That is super annoying,,,but the good outweighs the bad I feel.

Overall: I have been a Vagaro user for about 4 years. I love the ease of it for me...a challenged computer user...and I have had great success. My customers love this also, they love the reminders and the ease of making their own appointments if necessary by theirselves.

Recommendations to other buyers: I am not the best at computer work, and with the ease of the system I could make it work for me and not have my assistant do my appointments. also, with the connection to my website my clients can make their own appointments if necessary. I thought it would be tough to let go of my control of my appointment calendar, but with going to a online system, it was a easy transition for them and for myself.

Pros: appointment reminders, marketing tools, marketing emails and daily deals, "Thank You" emails, "Birthday" emails, "We miss you" emails, ease of exporting contacts, ease of scheduling, confirmation emails/texts of appts.

Cons: I do not like the merchant processing that comes along with Vagaro. It is an outsourced company that does not walk you through any process at all. I do not know how to use it, yet it keeps extracting money out of my bank account monthly. Not happy with this at all.

Overall: I've been using Vagaro for my MedSpa for almost 4 years now... It is the EASIEST software and I have a 98% show-up rate because of the reminders that are sent to the clients via text AND email! Clients can NEVER use the excuse that they forgot about the appointment unless you put their info into the system incorrectly. I LOVE the marketing tools on the app as well, and I have gotten new clients just from doing the "Daily Deals" with Vagaro.

Undoubtedly the best scheduling system out there for my spa! Highly recommend!

Pros: Not only I enjoy how this program is, My Guests absolutely love it. The reminders and the notices they receive give them the opportunity to confirm, change the date and time, and even cancel if needed appointments. My personal records that are kept helps keep me informed for all aspects of my services and also prior or next appointments. It also lets me tell my Guests what products they've enjoyed in the past so they can re-purchase them. I just love the ease and way I can let my Guests know about my time out of the Salon and Vacations that would be coming up so they can get in prior or set up for after. It also sends them a receipt on their services and costs. Would not try any other program. Works on all my Devices. I run mine on all Apple products. It also syncs on my personal calendar so I can schedule my own appointments(Dr and time off) .

Pros: Every time we need assistance, we get what we are looking for. There has never been a feeling of frustration using Vagaro.

Cons: Some clients still calls us because they say they can't book online. We think that's just human nature, there are people who refuse to learn how to operate basic computer tasks. We say that because the younger generation of clients in their 20's and 30's never have a problem. So it's really a cultural thing. (Even Hillary Clinton can make a simple mistake handling something as basic as sending emails, right?)

Overall: Our business, Elastic Wax Center, started using Vagaro from its very beginning. Being a waxing salon, Vagaro provides us with everything we need in terms of functionality, credit card charges, and advertising, which helps bring new customers almost every day. One feature we really love is that our clients can easily book an appointment within minutes, and there has never been a problem with overbooking, which is essential to the satisfaction of our waxers as well as our clients.

Overall: Very excellent app/software for the small salon or independent contractor. I don't have a receptionist, and clients love that they can book online anytime or check their appointments. I also utilize an answering service when I am with clients, and can't get the phone, called Basetend. They are a remote receptionist service, and they are set up on my Vagaro account with the ability to view and add appointments to my schedule on Vagaro. It is awesome! Also Love Vagaro's email marketing set up. So easy to send updates to all our clients and let them know whats new at the salon. Overall excellent. I back up my client list, and my calendar just in case, but there have been two short times when Vagaro had technical difficulties for like an hour and then it was fine. Just think they should compensate when things like that happen, but for the low monthly price, it really is a good value. Otherwise a great addition to my business and lifestyle.

Pros: the fact that clients can book 24/7, cutting down drastically the phone calls I would normally have to return at the end of the day.

Cons: I came across a situation where I wanted to only allow one particular service to be booked on a certin day, but Vagaro does not have that but I think it would be a great option. For example this was a date for an event where we would only performing one type of service- but there was no way to keep clients from booking whatever they wanted.....On a separate note, when I have had to call Vagaro regarding a couple issues or questions I had, I feel like I'm waking the guy up sometimes or something...I get a real 'surfer dude' vibe...probably sounds weird but I don't care for calling in, I try to resolve everything thru the chat option.

Overall: Vagaro is a great scheduling system. My clients love it. I love that new clients can find me thru Vagaro's site and book immediately.

Pros: I love the layout and ease of use. It is very functional with tools that are a must have once you experience them.

Cons: I am not to fond of the photo gallery. I think a photo gallery should be just that and let you name the picture or explain as you see fit and not make the picture correlate to the list of services on your profile. However I do understand the reason behind it. Also the merchant services I think that there should be a percentage per swipe OR a monthly fee. It should not be both because its like double charging sort of or at least increase the percentage yield per swipe in order to eliminate the monthly merchant fee. Now if you are using merchant on a larger scale then obviously they can afford it but the smaller scale merchant service should be one or the other.

Overall: I have worked in the medical field for years prior to owning my salon. We are all familiar with having to be checked in and checked out and everything in between. Well this software suite allows you to have the true office program for your salon or spa. I absolutely love the features they offer. These features are truly beneficial to what you need and not unnecessary stuff like glitz and glam or badges. It allows you to see where the client is within the salon at all times and I love the way you can custom design your own profile page with the ease of templates and drag and drop!!! After one webinar for the beginner you will be using this program like a professional in no time flat!!!

Recommendations to other buyers: I like that this software had a place for me since I offer locs. It would be nice to see in the list of vagaro services that cater to a more ethnic spectrum such as braiding and natural hair services. But none the less I am still overwhelmingly pleased with vagaro and I am so glad i found them.

Pros: The amazing updates..If it cross my mind...within months the company has read it! And expand new ways to keep in touch with customers!

Cons: I wish i could use my own merchant service to checkout and swipe..but still stay connected to vagaro. I tried the third party merchant for the software and i actually like my bank third party merchant services. But this doesn't effect my feelings toward the actual software and using it.

Overall: I started with vagaro in 2010 for just a regular booking site for my chair (I'm a stylist) at another salon. However, when I opened my own salon it was nothing to expand with this software. Updates have been nothing but amazing. It keeps getting better and better. If you are in search for software for your business look no further! It goes from emailing reminders, texting specials, to keeping your inventory! EVEN PAYROLL! Vagaro is the Best! I use it from my phone, iPad, to desktop!

Pros: The confirmations texts, and reminder texts to my clients. Also the ability to let them know if they did not show. Also, the History for each customer that the software keeps track of. Lets me see exactly when they were in last and what time. Helps me remember each person so that I can be more personal. The note feature is a lifesaver!!

Cons: Sometimes it runs a bit slow .

Overall: The best feature is the reminder texts my clients get. It is impossibly for them to forget their appointment. They get a confirmation when the appointment is made, and then two reminders. If something comes up for them, the second reminder lets them have enough time to change or cancel, and that makes me happy as I can fill their space. :)

Recommendations to other buyers: It is always improving. New features added, and updates all the time. This works perfect for our salon. Pros: That I can use it on my i-pad, phone or standard computer. It is an easy to learn system to teach when hiring new personal. It has the ability to help you stay organized and on top of clients so they don't fall through the cracks.

Cons: The only con I have is that it is really difficult to send one email at a time to clients, you can do it but you have to go through and do alot of cut and paste.

Overall: I have been using Vagaro software for the past 4 years and it has kept up with me as my business has grown. Vagaro gives me access to client information and the ability to reach out to those clients who have not been in for a period of time, send thank yous and birthday emails. It truly is like having a front desk receptionist.

Recommendations to other buyers: Would like to have the ability to email each client individual if need be. Have the ability to set a 30-day or 60-day note so that client would pop up so you could contact them. Being able to add widgets to the website via Vagaro for when you are doing events.

Pros: I like that it texts appointment reminders and confirmation notifications to my clients. I was constantly having to call each client leading up to their appointment for confirmation. It was working, but I knew that something could be done much easier and efficiently. My clients constantly thank me for implementing a text reminder software. I also love that I can access my schedule from my desktop as well as my phone. Having 24/7 access helps to increase my income, and to respond to my clients much quicker. Worth every penny!

Cons: I would LOVE it if it had an option of adding a waiting list option available for the week, that way if a scheduled client cancels, it could immediately bring up a list of clients who are interested in filling the spot.

Overall: It takes a huge weight off of my shoulders knowing that my clients can confirm their appointments and reschedule without having to directly get in contact with me. It saves me so much more time, and it also helps to keep my day running smoothly. I also love the added safety features when I get notifications when my account is logged in on a different device. I can feel safe knowing that my client's personal info is secure. (Also, please add Spa/Salon to the industry category options. Thank you!)

Pros: Finger touch and move appointments is the most important feature, which other software doesn't have. Love to see our schedules side-by-side. Being able to block out time for a treatment room that everyone uses is so helpful, not having to worry about 2 people booking the same time. Different colors for each service makes it simple to see what we're doing at a glance, without having to read the services.

Cons: The notes aren't always available to read, which is difficult because we leave formulas and allergy info on them.

Overall: We've been using Vagaro for over 4 years. It's easy to use, understand, and train stylists on. We use it daily, actually, hourly. It's changed our business. We're more professional and clients can book while we're working. It's too slow to have people call and us call back to arrange appointments. Plus, this really makes it simple to prebook every client before they leave the salon.

The Package function was designed to group individual service types together so a discount can be given for purchasing more than one at a time. Packages can be made on-the-fly or preset for fast and easy addition to the customer's Checkout. Each Package must be applied to a customer profile. Pros: I love that they alert you when the system is going to be down for updates and they schedule those times in the middle of the night. I have called several times to ask questions of technical support and they are always knowledgeable of every topic and always send an email summary of the call. Previous systems have included less for more money and this service works for every stylist or salon no matter the number of staff. I can't say enough about the system. Highly recommended to everyone. My friend in Ohio Opened her first salon and they didn't hesitate to sign up with Vagaro.

Cons: I'm not sure there are any cons. It would be nice if when it automatically logs out at set time if it wouldn't logout if there is an open credit card transaction. I have gotten busy a few times and If you don't complete the credit card transaction it will time out and you have to get the payment processed again. I usually figure this out after the client is gone and have to call them. Sometimes when you in the middle of entering an appointment it will log you out and you have to start over again.

Pros: The client reminders is what really attracted me in the first place but it has many features that can be helpful in running a simple salon business and doing it in an organized manner.

Cons: I wish there were a few different features to help professionals navigate the calendar and such differently. But there are many ways to to do things differently.

Overall: I have been using Vagaro for years and I love it. Clients love it, its easy to use and keeps me organized! Wouldn't trade it for the world, even just the client reminder texts are worth it. I have referred many of my colleagues and they seem to be enjoying the service as well.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would have to work with a software engineer to do that I used Millenium in the salon for many years before going independent and using Vagaro and there are things I wish were paralleled between the two. But Millenium did so much and more that a salon professional working independently might not need as much.

Pros: What I like most about this software is that it was a great step up from Style Seat. I was using style seat for a while and really enjoyed it as well as the clients but then I realized that Vagaro is similar but with a lot more options. It reminds me a bit of STX which is a great software to use. Whats great about Vagaro is the color coordinated schedule and the options to look at reports more in-depth and tons of different report options. On style seat there is not an option for multiple locations where as Vagaro has that option. Clients love using Vagaro as well since it is such an easy app and from what I have heard there are no issues with online booking that other softwares have.

Cons: There isn't really something I dislike about this software because it does give me all the details I need for booking and reports. However, I do think that the schedule for the staff can look a bit more updates. It looks very basic but it is not basic at all. There are many reports and details in the booking site that they can make look more modern and enjoyable

Pros: You and your clients have an app to use anywhere, anytime. It helps those clients that think about getting their hair done at random hours when I am not available to schedule for them. It sends reminders automatically which dramatically decreases no shows.

Cons: I really don't have anything negative to say about this program. They are always updating and improving it to make it easier to use.

Overall: I have used this program at the last 3 salons that I worked and have absolutely loved it. Before moving to my last salon I looked and changing to the square appointments since I use square for credit card processing and they do not compare. They had less features and were not as easy to use for more money. I'm staying with vagaro. The customer service is also excellent. They are quick to respond to questions through email and I always get a person when I call the customer service number.

Pros: Easy to make appointments via the online or mobile app. although the mobile app could be a bit tedious trying to isolate a specific time, particularly small time frames. I love that they listen to the users' experience and make constant updates to facilitate our needs. Tracking inventory is a breeze and business reports are easy to obtain. Customer service is Five Stars. They've "rescued" me several times without one disappointment.

Cons: I'm not a fan of the drop-down menus while I'm hovering over the screen. I'd prefer to click on a tab should I require additional info.

Overall: I'm a solo artist so I need Vagaro to keep me organized, up-to-date, and hassle-free. Overall, the client experience is great with little to no issues while trying to schedule, reschedule, or cancel an appointment.

Overall: We were using another salon scheduling software that cost more, but switched to Vagaro after reading the reviews. It is just about the only software out there that can accommodate both booth rent and commissioned stylists. I love it's ease of use and all the many features of Vagaro. I still haven't utilized everything that it has to offer. It's affordable and they constantly are improving it to meet your needs. Customer service is top notch. I highly recommend it.

Comments: I am a mindbody convert. I researched several other programs/apps before I decided on Vagaro. I am very happy about my choice. The customer service has been top notch. A few times I had to wait quite some time for someone to get back to me but fortunately those were not emergency situations. When I did get to talk/online chat with someone they were very helpful, patient and thorough.

Pros: ease of use, affordability, integrated emailing & marketing tools, gift certificates, ability to schedule rooms with each appointment to avoid overbooking spaces and very easy to track membership.(this was very cumbersome in MB because I used a 3rd party cc processor) I also like the interface on the desktop version as well as the app. It's fun to use!

Cons: 1-Inability to force scheduling of couples massages with 2 therapists for 2 individuals. 2- Inability to set online scheduling to only show open appointments around existing appointments to avoid big gaps in schedule. 3- Inability to enter a tip after a credit card transaction has been completed and the inability to undo a transaction that has been paid by credit card prior to it being settled.

Pros: Ease of setup, selling gift certificates from my website, the very fast customer service, the inventory tracking (not with StyleSeat), the automatic reminders from using my business name and not from Vagaro. (StyleSeat reminders said they came from StyleSeat) The reports , being able to directly print from Vagaro, being able to print receipts(couldn't with StyleSeat). And many more..

Overall: One week ago I had a client who always used StyleSeat Express Pay. I waited they never charged her. She emailed me that her card was not charged so then I had to manually ring her out. 2 days later I got an email from StyleSeat that they were not going to allow clients to use the Express Pay thru StyleSeat if they checked the option for opting out of receiving any and all notifications from StyleSeat. That and their VERY SLOW customer service and the many complaint s from clients that the online booking never works and freezes led me to look for another booking site. I kept getting adds for Vagaro on my Facebook and knew another salon that uses Vagaro. I decided to go for it and switched to VAGARO! So far, the best move I have made!

Pros: excellent customer service! (Answered my questions I had for setting up with Vagaro in less than an hour from the time I asked them). Keeps track of retail and back bar inventory (StyleSeat does not), allows to sell gift certificates from my own web page and intagate with YELP(StyleSeat doesn't).

Cons:. So far I have none

Recommendations to other buyers: I highly recommend Vagaro. If you already have a wonderful webcite, Vagaro is easy to install in it! You don't need to use their website generator. I highly recommend you try out Vagaro. You will not be sorry!

Pros: I like the app for when I'm away from the office. I find booking cancelling and adding personal time easy. It is dependable and never down.

Cons: I'm not certain why, but many clients seem to have a hard time booking appointments for themselves, so I have to help them. I think it should display the times that are not available and grey them out. Software times out too quickly and I can't find where to adjust this. Too much tinkering with appearance.

Overall: It's been mostly positive. I don't like all of the changes that they make to the appearance all the time. I need to come in each day and know what I'm facing. The people that you speak to for help can be a touch slow to understand my needs as someone who works for a regulated profession, but they've always helped me in the end. I'd prefer that future versions focused more on function and less on appearance.

Pros: I love the automated reminders, the fact that it keeps track of my earnings, all of my formulas in one easy place - it's hard to pick one thing. I love that it's economical.

Cons: The website doesn't work well from smartphones or tablets, so my clients have to download the app and they often don't realize that that's the case. So it can be a struggle because they think they made an appointment and they didn't.

Overall: I don't know how I could possibly run my business without Vagaro. The automated reminders to clients, the ability for them to self-book online, the tracking of all my formulas and appointment history - all of that is just a click away from my phone or tablet. I have always received fantastic customer service, and I absolutely cannot recommend them enough.

Pros: This software is simple and easy for staff to learn and utilize. The integrated client self scheduling tools have been well used and our clients find it so much better then Mindbody.

The price is 1/4 of what Mindbody was charging. So the value is outstanding.

Customer service is so patient with incredibly minimal wait times.

Love the functionality of being able to see everything for the client from the calendar screen.

I love Vagaro

Cons: Would like an easier way to see client purchase history right from the clients profile link.

I look forward to there update for the gift card client self service being able to include items like tips and packages. Works good as is, but clients can only buy single services. But they are listening to client concerns and working on an improvment.

Data migration for client notes and account balances was the only real negative about the transition. But it was NOT THEIR FAULT. Mindbody doesn't release that data. So not Vagaro's fault but that transition took a while.

Overall: Great value. Easy to use.

Pros: The program is decent. I really didn't use the program so I can't comment on the software.

Cons: If you don't use the Vagaro system they make it difficult to cancel! I canceled my membership in May and the continued to charge my credit card! There was no cancel option on my account like they advertise, so I had to call them. Told them I had canceled in May and asked why I was still being charged. They told me that I clicked on the account and it reactivated it and they were not sure if I could get my money back! I clicked on the account to make sure it was canceled, it was still active and I was concerned. I had no idea that would reactivate Vagaro to charge my account again!

Overall: Not good! Starting my own business and my time is limited. They have cost me a great deal of time with something that should have been simple! Beware!!

Comments: Overall it is was the best decision I have made for my business.

Pros: Since I downladed this app to my phone I have been so happy! I have my appointment book at my finger tips, I can look back at the week, month or yearly income, it is so easy to use. I have had fewer no shows because the reminder system is Amazing! I also love the card processing being all in one place with my other business. It is comparable to other card processing companies and the money goes into my bank overnight.

Cons: As with any computer system, if there is problems with the internet it can slow you down a bit. Sometimes it doesn't process a card, but when that happens I get emails with update throughout the day until it is fixed.

Managing 2 calendars , toggling back and forth is a bit of a hassle...I've double booked someone on accident twice :( Other than this, I absolutely LOVE this service!

Overall: I used Vagaro for 2 years and then was out due to Rheumatoid Arthritis. I attempted to sign up for the free trial once I was better, but have found that you must have the amount of the full trial in your account for them to "hold". I was $1.50 short. Uhm that is not a free trial then. If you need to have the money for you to "hold", then I am paying for the service. When I called, because my card kept saying invalid, I was told that they had just recently started doing this. Listen the software is undeniable, but when you are not honest in your advertising and with sign up, you make your whole company look duplicitous and it really makes your customer feel as if they are being scammed. I really like their software, but I will be checking out other programs, simply because I don't like feeling duped and having my time wasted.

Overall: I learned about Vagaro from my massage therapist. I was so impressed on the reminders and she would always say she wasn't technical, which surprised me she had such an efficient system. I also have a massage therapy and holistic business and I was paying for a system which was not user friendly and I literally had to go to the bank and file a complaint because they would still charge me even though I had trouble using their system and I had cancelled my service. It was very frustrating and I felt robbed by them.

I was so happy to find Vagaro they provide videos and details on how to use the calendar etc.. Every time I had a question they answered it quickly and later asked if there was anything else they could help me with. I am so happy that I found them and now I have more freedom to focus on my work and not making appts. Before Vagaro I was getting off work and sometimes spend 2 hours on my time "off" making appts.

I highly recommend Vagaro! It's professional and they have an active supportive system in place. The calendar is easy to use for clients and as a business owner I can keep track of everything on my phone. It's the best choice I made for my business this year.

Pros: Easy access to book online for my customers and I on our tablets, mobile devices and computers.

Cons: What I like least about the software is the "Edit this occurrence" feature. After an appointment is scheduled and you want to add additional services prior to checking out I usually have to cancel the service and reschedule to add multiple services.

Overall: I am "still" giddy about my decision to make the switch to Vagaro. I even had a recent competitor of Vagaro share all their perks and how I could still benefit and save from their online product. Without hesitation I shared how I was a satisfied customer and wasn't willing to lose what I had. If it isn't broke as the saying goes don't fix it. My customers also like the easy access to book their services. Good job Vagaro, I have no need to change my service unless you change in your quality.

Pros: I like alot of things, I like how you can drag an appointment to another day or time within the same week. Or I can edit the appointment time and change to whatever date and time I want. I like that the email marketing tool is more like constant contact - very user friendly. I also like the campaigns where you can blast for coupons. Now they have chat right on the screen - very nice if you don't have time to call.

Cons: The only thing I wish they had was if you had a client that you didn't want them to book online you could modify that.

Overall: It is a great software. I've tried alot of them and have not been successful but with vagaro it's easy as pie.

Pros: I love how easy Vagaro allows me to contact and communicate with of my clients. As a busy barber instructor, I often need to take time off to teach and Vagaro has been the best way to let my people know when I won't be available way in advance. I can send out fancy announcements and my clients can see my availability weeks and even months away.

Cons: I just have one frustration and that's uploading new haircut pics. The haircut pics have to be a certain size to upload and I've used pics taken by my phone and a pro camera and the pics were too big to upload. You can however send the pics you want uploaded to customer service and they'll do it for you, but I just like the ability to do it myself.

Overall, I love this program. Especially for the price. It's affordable and I appreciate that a lot.

Pros: It's extremely convenient for more mobile users like myself. I was very amazed on how easy the app was to use. It's almost like using it on the computer which is difficult to find. I love how you are able to drag the appointments even on the mobile version when you need to change the appointment time. I also love how affordable it is. I was using Mindbody before and I really am glad I switched over, their app was completely subpar compared to yours and I was paying twice as much. Thank you!

Cons: There isn't a whole lot I dislike about it, but it can be a little confusing at times when reviewing receipts for packages. I have some customers who get confused and think I charged them twice and I have to explain the receipt to them. Sometimes it can be confusing on my end too because on the transaction list it can look like they were charged. I would rather see a "package redeemed" rather than the dollar value. It would be handy to have a setting where you can put your set packages so it's easier to check out too. It would also be awesome for the client profile to have an attachment section so I can put their new client forms and a prescription for massage there. Other than that, it's perfect.

Overall: A good experience in booking, checking out customers, able to send out mass emails, and looking at the statistics provided. I'm still amazed about the app and how affordable it is. Thank you!

Cons: I wish I could book two people at once . Ex: A husband a wife come in together and want to reschedule together, kind of like scheduling multiple services but booking multiple people together. When a client leaves a comment it looks like a regular note (ex:formula), I often miss checking these I would love it if a client made the note it came up a different color, It would be so helpful.

Overall: I love this program! I have been using the program for a few years now, I tell every stylist about it! The confirmation/reminders alone save me between 1 and 1 1/2 hrs a day in return phone calls and messaging. I love the all inclusive reporting and cash register.

Pros: checking client details on the go, anywhere. That's why it's amazing, I could be in my car (not driving of course), to find out what a clients previous appointment was, for how long extra, all in the palm of my hand!

Cons: OK there is one thing that does drive me a bit crazy, when vagaro have maintenance, I'm in the UK, it's frustrating when I want to use the system and this message appears (maintenance try later).

I do realise this has to take place, just giving my least likes

Overall: So easy to use, with regular updates. I'm delighted with Vagaro! I'm able to keep my clients up to date with special promotions, events and their own appointment times. It's also fantastic to be able to see how each therapist is doing each month, with just a click of a button.

Pros: I LOVE the ability to manage my appointments from anywhere, anytime! It gives me the opportunity to schedule and reschedule, contact clients directly via phone, email or messaging. And the marketing emails have worked to fill slow weeks almost immediately!

Clients that use it love being able to book on the fly without having to talk to me personally. I like that too, in that I don't answer the phone while I'm working with a client. And it's especially nice that they only see the available appointments, not my entire book.

Cons: I don't like the cost of the service displayed on the reminder to the client. Because when they actually come in, it may be less or more depending on the situation. New clients may not show up when the price may appear too high, when they haven't experienced the services I offer.

Overall: Email marketing has been especially helpful in filling in empty appointments. And not having to carry around a cumbersome appointment book is great. Also, easier to book clients ahead a year out and avoid accidental double booking

CON: Non-user friendly for the client to book online, only about and average of 4 out of 10 of my customers could figure out on their own how to book online without my help (my time). Your salon will be deeply hidden amongst your local competion using the same software. Your advertised hours will be the earliest and latest working employee. Lags and freezes sometimes which is bad when you are ringing up someone. Has too much stuff that is not necessary which makes using the program time consuming and not simple when you are busy. Very annoying multiple emails are sent to clients for the smallest modifications or changes. You must use their exact words for the list of services for customers to find your salon on the main site (someone with absolutley no nail working experience must of made the nail listing). Forces a listing of points rewards so clients will ask what it is even if you don't want to use it. The worst part is clients can't find you unless you use all their exact worded service listings or log in with each client's user/pass and bookmark your salon in their account, one by one. In contact emails they don't respond very quickly.

Pros: Easy to use, developers seem to work to give us more features time and time again. The last few updates were just fantastic (ability to click and drag appointments).

Cons: The advertising boasts a certain success rate, and mine was ZERO. For what they charge, they have literally no visibility to the public to gain new clients. Very disappointing. And when I mentioned this to customer service, they tried to play off that five of my new clients were from their visibility but it was just that they hadn't used my new Vagaro page yet, they were not strangers to me by any means. I would NEVER recommend anyone use the advertising.

Overall: I've loved using Vagaro. As far as salon software goes, it's the best out there in my opinion. Easy to use

Pros: Product inventory, calendaring/appointment booking, POS, report generation, gift card design and distribution of same - so easy to scan, process and checkout upon use. If you are old school and still use a book, toss it and get on board, you won't be sorry!!

Cons: When software is updated, we are often not aware and log in to a totally new look and need to once again get familiar as often times things are moved or are slightly different.

Overall: Our clients love the appointment confirmation and reminders; our stylists love that they have access to their calendar, product sales, income, client history, etc. all via one system from their smart phone or tablet no matter where they happen to be.

Cons: I would like to be able to email my clients their precooked appointments. Currently, I have to manually type and email their standing appointments. It isn't always convenient

Overall: Vagaro is perfect for my small company. I have used this system for over 3 years. The app has everything you need to run a small business. The reports are very useful and help me track of sales, payroll, and inventory. Customer service is very friendly and helpful. They always respond in a timely manner. Their online tutorials and Vagaro community are also helpful when you have a question and need a fast fix. The company is always improving and receptive to their customer requests on improving functions of the app. Overall, I would highly recommend Vagaro to any stylist, booth renter, or small to medium sized salon or spa.

Pros: I like that it is pretty good quality and features for the money, I love that Vagaro listens to their users and implement when something is highly requested. I like the visual look of the system, I also like the ease of use and I love they are finally getting their own merchant processing.

Cons: A few things could be a bit simplified like the checkout, I think there are too many steps to book and checkout an appointment - I'm super happy they are finally getting their own merchant processing but the long approval application is a bit much. I also think they could improve their marketing with quick simple mobile campaigns & allowing clients to redeem mobile.

Comments: I have just start a trial 2 days ago. They just launched the fitness class feature 13 days ago...do yourself a favor and try something else. There are a lot of bugs in the system still and super frustrating being on the phone with support for hours on end! I know there is a learning curve for the client, but there is a big one for support as well. They are amazing, and doing the best they can...but I don't have spare hours on end to be the guinea pig. The end user app is frustrating, it doesnt show the weeks schedule, you can only book by service or service provider first selected first. Doesn't show how many spaces are available, if any, and there is no wait list function. Waitlist has to be done manually, only if the client calls in to be put on a wait list....who has time for that, client and practioner. The changes are not updated immediately. You have to log out numerous times for some things to register. The check out page is super frustrating and adds things to client profiles without approval. Support can only change a few things, then they have to write a ticket to tech support for correcting mistakes made by glitches. Mistakes are not removed completely off the ledger, they still remain making hard to see what is valid/current and what is void. They only do these tickets at night so you are waiting until they get to yours. Super frustrating, I would like to just dump this but I have already invested countless hours...like 12. 12 hours I will never get back and have been taken away from running my business. I would like to try and make this work instead of starting from scratch somewhere else, but my patience is waring very thin. Thank god for the 30 day free trial! Just wanted to save you all from the nightmare I am going through. With that being said, it would be really good if it all worked! If I was a salon it would be really good software to use for online booking. Unfortunately, classes not so much (at this time.)

Comments: As a former salon owner and current hair stylist for over 25 years, I've researched almost every salon software out there. You can't beat Vagaro for ease of use, easy set up and from experience cloud based software is so much better than hardware based. You never have to worry about backing up or computers going down or any of that. Just log in where ever you want and start booking. The phone and tablet apps are even better than using the website.

Pros: Ease of use, cloud based, great phone app, and great value.

Cons: Not many but Vagaro should offer a service to transfer client info. from other salon software to Vagaro. The website lets you import client info. but if you run into problems your pretty much on your own.

Recommendations to other buyers: Get it, it's more than what you need, at a price a booth renter can afford.

Overall: Vagaro salon/spa services are perfectly designed for busy stylists/studio owners. Tracking inventory and reordering retail products is easy. I love to use Vagaro's templates to design email promotions and my clients love getting their appointment confirmations and green receipts. Now that it's tax season, the monthly reports are a real lifesaver. Great value too!

Recommendations to other buyers: Perhaps it's an iPad compatibility issue, but designing email promos is tricky. Still, I manage. However, it would make life easier if Vagaro saved my design settings so that I don't have to reselect my preferences each time I produce a new promotion (font/color/layout).

Cons: The web-store definitely could be better. I sell have extensions and different size products . While can sell on the site it doesn't streamline the product that come in varies sizes and lengths. As the functionality stand In order list all the lengths. the same item has to be listed which makes the page junky and visually unappealing. Once this issues is fix this software would be superb!

Pros: There are several things that I really like about Vagaro. The first pro about this software is the ease of booking appointments. I especially love that I can use the app on my smartphone to book appointments while I am away from the salon. The second feature about this software is the ability to track my inventory that is being sold by my stylists. Another feature is being able to link my salon's Facebook page with a button for clients to book an appointment through Facebook. I love that I can use this software to integrate all my social media outlets to help me brand myself to the public. That is important in this day and time for a business to grow.

Cons: I am new to Vagaro and so far I haven't run into many issues with this software. The only con I can speak of is the inability to upload my inventory list into it. I can export my list into Excel, but I wish I could import from Excel into Vagaro. I had to re-enter my entire invertory into Vagaro, which too a week to complete. In the future, I hope you can change this software with an update to import files into the software.

Overall: The biggest benefit I have noticed so far is the client's showing up on time for their appointments. I love the feature that sends messages automatically for reminders. I also like checking out clients and the ease of making future appointments.

Overall: I have been using Vagaro for almost 4 years. It has been a game changer for my salon. Cons: The automated text needs to state only confirm, do not reply. Clients report difficulty in on line scheduling. Unable to book a time they want. No sure if there is a way to show other than greying out the area that the spot is unavailable.

Overall: My clients say it is not user friendly, some what confusing to use on line. I also think that the confirmations done by text should state that it is an automated text, do not reply. I have had a lot of people get angry with me because I don't call to reschedule them, they have replied to the the automated text.

Recommendations to other buyers: Let me know when a recurring appointment needs to be renewed. I forget this a lot. Stress that the appointment text reminder is automated.

Pros: I like most that the reminders are sent out 2 times in order to make sure that a customer has the opportunity to cancel an appointment with enough advance notice to reschedule someone else if needed.

Cons: The customers sometimes have a hard time logging into or figuring out the system.

Overall: I have been a Vagaro user for over 7 years now and I love it. Since I am an independent contractorsand I do not use a receptionist, this is the next best thing to having an assistant.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is a great way for promotions to get noticed by your own customers and new customers. I love the features of the marketing side where you can send out birthday gift certificates, newsletters and marketing material at no additional charge. Clients love it!

Overall: I have been using Vagaro on a laptop and a phone app for about 2 1/2 years. It makes my life so much easier because I don't have to confirm appointments with clients. Additionally I do really like the direct mail, so I can send out advertisments to clients and not have to use another service. The few problems I have had with Vagaro are that I tried using the app on my Kindle Fire and it didn't not work well. Additionally, sometimes signing on takes a while, I think this is because there are so many users. I can't access the Vagaro app while I am using my phone, but I dont reallty know if that is a Vagaro issue or an iphone issue. Overall I am extremely happy with the customer service and support I have received with Vagaro and have recommended it to co-workers in the beauty industry.

Pros: I love the availability to all of my clients names and numbers. I love the message reminders and so do all of my customers! I like how I can print receipts and have use to a cash drawer. I also have my iPad and iPhone on this software and also have my employees signed up to use on their phones which is great when the salon is busy! Easy checkouts with the card readers and I like how your able to save customers cards on file for faster checkouts! I also like the way that the gift certificates are logged in to the system. The gift cards that you can buy are a little expensive in my opinion..

Cons: I do not like the fact that once you book an appointment you can not go back in and edit it to change the service or add a service to the current one that is booked...

Overall: This software gives me easier money management! I hate having to keep up with an appointment book and this software I have right in my hand wherever I go on my smartphone!

Overall: I've been using vagaro for couple months now, almost every other week there's a day the app or computer window is super super slow! Today it actually doesn't work at all for hours:/ it's holiday time our phone rings off the hook but we can't even book anything on Vagaro because it just doesn't move at all... I call the customer service they are very nice and apologizing and told me it will take about a couple hours for their website to work again. Who is going to cover the lost?? Should I keep use it since it super slow and sometimes doesn't even work? If this happens couple more times I'm changing it to something else.

Comments: Overall, this has been the best booking program I've worked with. I will keep it forever! I highly recommend it to everyone with a business....big or small!

Pros: I love how easy it is to use for me and my clients. I run my own massage office so I can't always get to the phone. Booking online is a life saver! It is the best investment I made. It's great for me as a sole proprietor, but it also has the functionality to support a whole spa staff. It's awesome!

Cons: The only thing I would fix/update would be on the mobile pro app. AND.....this could be an "operator error" and I just don't know how to do this. But when a customer leaves a comment about their appointment, the only way I can see it is on the laptop. I can't see the comment on my mobile app. It just show "no notes" but the note icon is on the appointment when you look at the calendar. It's a little frustrating, but I don't always have my laptop handy to pull up the note.

Pros: Vagaro is often improving their product every year for their customers.

Cons: Vagaro needs to create a feature to block unwanted clients and to have the option to choose text confirmations and marketing instead of email. Most clients don't go to their emails because of too many emails or my generation or older who don't wish to be a part of the information technology.

Overall: I like the Vagaro system because it gives you the tools to really plug in your business for action on a shoestring budget to schedule, confirm, market and create new customers. It's user-friendly, and I can use it to collect credit card payments.

Cons: -The back end is not very intuitive.

-The main landing page for clients and businesses is weird looking and a little hard to navigate at first. That big white box in the middle looks like a pop-up window.

-No ability for online scheduling of couples' massages. I've only found one software that has this feature and it would be a huge selling point if Vagaro could figure out how to add this.

-No custom, automated new client emails.

Overall: I run an appointment based massage business and Vagaro does almost everything I want it to. Even more important, the system is reliable and consistent.

Cons: That if you go to a salon that has vagaro and one day leave that salon they can't transfer calendars. They don't have it so you can sale you products online.

Overall: My first time using Vagaro was in 2012. It was a little hard at first trying to learn how to use the software when I called customer care they helped.. Now that I'm on my own again it's been a real Challenge only because I had a salon that used vagaro and they used it in different was that I never did... Cons: *I wish there was an easier way to send clients a years worth of standing appointments. Its very difficult to send a client their schedule. *I also wish there was an option for reminders for families. I do children that do not have an established email. I called support and they told me the only option was to CC the parent. This confuses the parents because they don't know which person has an appointment. Ready for the ridiculous, but seriously most frustrating to look at, part of this software? I cannot stand the color the engineers, or artists chose to make a personal day off. Pros: Ability to schedule services and classes/workshops, the connection with google and scheduling app to make it easier for clients. They really try to help you build your business.

Cons: I wish they offered an option for add-on services. I do feel like without this i am losing out of additional income. It is overly redundant to list services with minor add on changes as complete new services. A way to further promote mini add on services to a session is really the only thing this is lacking.

Overall: I've used many different online scheduling programs but vagaro has been my favorite, from the great and fast customer service to the overall functionality of the program. It is designed in a way to help generate more business and I can tell you after switching it made a difference in the number of new clients coming in.

Recommendations to other buyers: It's not super easy but definitely not the most difficult online scheduling program I've used. I am a solo massage practitioner, yoga instructor and educator so I love that I can use the same program for sessions and classes.

Comments: Buyer BEWARE!!!!!! Horrible software and just as horrible customer support

Pros: pretty easy software to use if it worked correctly. Easy to check out when the inventory is correct in the system and you can check someone out.

Cons: Horrible customer service, the customer is NEVER right, software messed up my inventory constantly. Every time I went in to do inventory it was wrong! Constant battle putting in tickets about this and when I did finally quit they don't show one ticket in the system for this????? I probably complained about 10 times. After spending 9-10 hours putting in my inventory and having to leave since they can't keep it correct I have to pay for the free credit card reader I received. I would never leave after all the hours I put in if they were reliable. My accountant told me we had to go to a manual system since I records are such a mess since going with Vagaro. They also charged me to change my bank account number in the system. Everytime I wanted to talk to a manager the answer was there were none available. I spoke to some other local spas in the area and they said they have the same issue with the inventory. I have put in a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back since Vagaro didn't hold up on their end of the deal.
