Pros: I'm really excited to dive in and see what this product can do for our nonprofit. We are really looking forward to using it this year in raising funds for end of year.

Cons: Sometimes it can get a little confusing just following the online videos. I wish live training was offered without an additional fee, but we will make it work.

Comments: Customer rep was knowledgeable and patient. Thanks for your help.

Pros: The ability to view and edit events with a much more intuitive UI and feature set than our previous CRM solution.

Cons: No cons so far- perhaps a lack of a more advanced ticket creation system potentially with security features like barcodes.

Comments: This is our first experience with a CRM program, and so far we are very pleased with the customer support and program. We did not have the funds to have NeonCRM import our constituents for us, so we are adding them manually. It would have been nice to have someone walk us through the best way to set up our database, but we completely understand why that's an additional cost. There is a learning curve (of course), but we get it figured out soon enough!

Pros: -Detailed tutorials to get you started -The dashboard/ interface is well organized and easy on the eyes -Lots of functions (fundraising, memberships, store, volunteering, forms, etc)

Cons: -more customization to standard fields (If you can, I haven't found how to yet) -more options for volunteer set up

Comments: We have a number of IT professionals on our board and active as volunteers in our NFP, but I suspect that less sophisticated users would struggle to accomplish some tasks that ought to be more intuitive. On the other hand, the software is very versatile and allows for a high level of functionality for a pretty reasonable price.

Pros: The functionality is pretty straightforward in NeonCRM. We are able to figure out pretty quickly how to accomplish what we need to do.

Cons: Some menu trees are not as intuitive as they ought to be. The Fundraising menu, for instance, does not make it easy to figure out how to create acknowledgement letters to donors. This is a very basic function that most not-for-profits are likely to need.

Pros: Customer Service is great. They respond back in a timely matter. Very helpful. They have lots of great resources available. Neon seems to be pretty straight forward so far, we are continuing to learn more with every use.

Cons: Not the "prettiest" back office, but it is functional. Would like to make the forms nicer, branded, again....prettier once on website. - May need to explore this more!

Pros: We received a one month trial that allowed us to explore the CRM with access to most of the features. The product is intuitive and user friendly and includes lots of options for customization. The flexibility to be able to add services as we grow into them is greatly appreciated as well.

Cons: I don't like the self-import limitations that havebeen imposed that make it difficult to import things manually, and not have to pay for it to be done.

Pros: User friendly. Self-explanatory. Love all of the tools available (KB articles, training videos, etc.)

Cons: I, personally, do not have any cons with this system. The only thing I could think of would be to add reporting graphics! This would be amazing for board meetings!

Comments: I originally looked at NEON almost a year ago. I ended up skipping over them as I made the assumption that we couldn't afford it as a small Not For Profit. I was wrong... very affordable and exactly what we needed.

Pros: Robust options, really easy to use, powerful, straightforward user experience, and the site looks good too!

Cons: So many options and capabilities that I am afraid I may not be able or know how to use the system to its capabilities. Thankfully, they have training for that!

Pros: Brandon has been great with the orientation process. I really like the event and volunteer management features. It brings the team together into one place.

Cons: Not sure yet. I'm thinking it's going to be the look of the online interface. But you could always prove me wrong! :-)

Comments: I'm not very happy that you can't self-import your volunteer database. That seems like it should be a basic function of the self-import feature, but in reality, you're probably just not letting users do this so that we have to pay you to import our data. Also, I feel like the import fee should be on a sliding scale...the more imports you have, the more money, the less imports you have, the less money it costs.

Pros: It's very user-friendly and has a nice updated design.

Cons: I don't like the self-import limitations that you have imposed that make it difficult to import things ourselves, and not pay you to do.

Comments: The reason that I gave 4 starts for ease of use is for the implementation process. Other software would get the same number of stars because the implementation of anything like this is always very complex and takes a certain kind of person to complete. The system administrator needs to be very comfortable with computers and feel comfortable with teaching themselves how to use it and figure out any issues or solutions. The configurations, customization and importing of previous data can be difficult for someone that isn't comfortable with new software, or someone who doesn't take time to read all the instructions. The Neon CRM is working perfectly for us. One of the free webinars on QuickBooks actually helped us figure out how to more efficiently and effectively use QuickBooks. Our members love being able to log into the system and update their profiles and see their membership history.

Pros: Online database is secure; database and the application are organized in ways that make sense for how non-profits operate (fundraising, donations, membership); flexibility in features; customization available; statistics and reports that are available; customer service is knowledgeable and responsive; automation of many processes that were previously done manually in spreadsheets and word documents.

Cons: The ONLY thing that I wish Neon offered is a feature for the app. We have monthly events, and I would love to have our members sign themselves in on two different iPads using the app, and have it automatically synced with each other online. To be fair, this is a feature that very few companies offer, since the automatic syncing is difficult to develop.

Comments: The training and follow up are a particular strength of NeonCRM. I appreciate the training videos that may be watched at any time.

Pros: We were particularly drawn to NeonCRM because of its integration with the website product that they also offer. It is great for a donor to be able to make a contribution on our website and have it automatically be added to our database. I also really like how you can create reports and save them for future use. So far, this new system has been very time saving. The training and customer service have been stellar.

Cons: The one thing I have struggled with a little is searching their online resources for answers to questions. We are also still relatively new to the software and I have not yet had a chance to use every feature we will use so I am not sure if it will work as expected though I anticipate it will.

Neon sales team were excellent. The were able to provide me with an affordable solution for managing our organization.

Comments: I would really recommend using the Idealware report to compare platforms. Each organization has different needs and requirements for their data. The Idealware report compiles information from a lot of different vendors. I would also recommend doing the free trial before purchasing to see if it is a good fit.

Pros: After looking at many platforms (DonorPerfect, Little Green Light, Salesforce), NeonCRM seemed to be the one that worked best for our needs. We really liked the different integrations and the interface was intuitive for staff

Cons: The customizations seemed a little complicated and will require a lot of time to set up. Other platforms had more information about the donor all in one place, as opposed to scrolling through many sections.

Comments: take a look - it will change your life

Pros: I like the integration with Quickbooks; how easy event registration is; how easy it is to build event page for our NEON Inspire webpage; prompt replies from customer service; data imports easily;

Cons: Dislike that people don't remember their login information and create a new account for every event and then I have to delete duplicate accounts

Pros: We use Neon for everything! Forms, donations, events, emails, etc. It's not absolutely perfect for any one thing, but it's really great at all those things. For the value and the comprehensiveness, I'd recommend it highly! Plus, the customer service and help center are incredible!! So many resources and extremely quick replies. Very easy to work with.

Cons: Even if there isn't a capability for something I want to do one day, I love that Neon is constantly updating with new features. I know that I can request it and (with enough other people wanting the same thing), they'll be responsive and development solutions. So any cons aren't cons for long.

Comments: Salesforce was made for for profit sales. It has a whole jargon to learn to understand the fields. To make it work with your needs you need to hire a consultant to help develop bolted on adaptations that will integrate with Salesforce. In other words so called free Salesforce aint really free. Neon is turnkey, by comparison. After comparing the cost of adapting salesforce Neon actually allows nonprofits to save money.

Pros: The Neon CRM and it's cousin online engagement software offer seamless interface and integration with tracking and reporting Neon features include peer to peer module Neon is beautiful to look at and easy to learn and work with

Cons: The price of data migration can be high The sales process was not great. Not all the info I needed so I had to keep going back and forth Neon does not talk to Click n Pledge but does integrate with many other payment processors

Just what our non profit needed to organize our donors.

Pros: The non profit customization is perfect for organizing our donors. Love the Wordpress, Stripe, and Quickbooks integration.

Comments: After 2 nightmarish contracts with two separate inward-/outward-facing database platforms, this was a breath of fresh air. It works right off the rip, the training videos are actually helpful, if you can get through them, and there was no pressure from sales; no contract. They know what they're good at and integrate other systems for things that have better, more specialized products like, Eventbrite, Quickbooks and Mailchimp, and consolidates the data. The whole team can actually use it rather than feeling like data-entry drones.

Pros: The integrations with Eventbrite and Mailchimp allow us to use the best of everything without having to manage lists in every direction or hiring an IT guru. We talked through our existing (and very messy) data with a data rep from the platform. She talked us through how we needed to clean and modify it for this particular system, including recommendations based her knowledge of the different form fields and feature, and then we uploaded it based on the mapping she set up, and were able to easily modify once we had everything ready to go live

Cons: It's not as flashy or designed as well as some others, but it works! The only other issue would be if we wanted to connect organization accounts and contact accounts in the upload. We could have asked for a custom import, or manually connected the accounts, but since the system search includes scanning the org field, we can search for one org and all the contacts who have it listed as their company pop up anyway, which is all we need!

We have loved working with Neon!

Comments: They have been extremely helpful and I am grateful for all they have done to get our society up and running to quickly. Terrific team approach and I am so happy we selected them as our CRM and website development vendors.

Pros: It is a very user-friendly system, and I am impressed with their level of online help resources when I have questions.

Cons: I am struggling with the creation of multiple accounts by constituents with each event versus their membership account versus other engagement with the society. I have tried to merge the various accounts, but I don't seem to be doing it correctly and feel a little frustrated. I am certain it is my fault it is not working smoothly, but do feel a little frustrated by the situation.

Pros: Neon CRM is easier to navigate and search than many other donor management softwares that I have used. I also like the customizing features in the reports. Donation entries are also simple and make it easy for me to work with volunteers for data entry.

Cons: I do wish support was a little easier to access. Additionally, although many reports are customizable, there are some limitations when it comes to using households that can be challenging when trying to run good clean mailing lists. However, every database has its quirks.

Pros: Clean and intuitive software that is easy to navigate, and you don't have to be a tech-person to be able to use.

Cons: Customer service isn't free for the initial migration and upload of data. If you have a lot of data you are going to have to pay for their support.

Pros: We love that it's customizable, that we can have multiple users and logins, and that event registration is integrated into it.

Pros: Neon CRM has all of the tools that our non-profit needs - CRM, registration, donation, and much more.

Cons: Don't like having to separate and double count records for Organizations and associated Individuals. This should be a seamless process to have the ability to track both without the need for connecting relationships on the backend or double counting records.

Comments: Excited to join the community of users and have this software be part of our year two experience!!

Pros: All the functionality we need and were looking for. GREAT customer service and partnership with our sales representative. He has been patient beyond belief and has answered all our questions and really helped us make the decision to go with NeonCRM. I have already recommended Neon to another local nonprofit.

Cons: Nothing so far. Wish that we could process membership dues on a monthly basis, but suspect there is a way that we just haven't learned yet!

Pros: The UI is much easier to navigate than other CRM systems we've used in the past. Customer service is very responsive.

Cons: Integrations are somewhat limiting. Internal email lists aren't as advanced as we would like (only first, last, email - no other identifiers unless you want to make the email contact an account, which will end up costing you more if you go over your account limit based on plan pricing).

Pros: All the options and functions that are bundled together. While we probably won't use all the features out of the gate, its great that they are available. It also integrates with all the products we were already using which made it seem like a perfect fit (Mailchimp, Quickbooks, Eventbrite).

Cons: I'm a little unsure exactly how we are going to customize everything to fit our needs but am confident the consulting and implementation team will be able to help us get this figured out.

Pros: I love how easy the main interface is to use. It is also very easy to get in touch with customer service when you need direction learning how to use a new feature.

Cons: The only thing that I dislike is the reporting. It takes time to learn how to use the features so that information is sorted and reported correctly.

Pros: Lots of functionality, great for the long run because we can continue to expand. We haven't even scratched the surface of its capabilities yet.

Cons: Certain features are hard to figure out, particularly the integration with other software. Visually it is hard to scroll through all the attributes of a record. Perhaps another way to organize it on screen would be more user friendly. A little more support with tutorials or with a rep would be helpful to implement some of the features that I am interested in.

Pros: The customer service from this company is awesome. I think this system will really work for our company.

Pros: The database is pretty easy to customize and is something that we can do on our own generally without having to consult a professional. The cost is also very reasonable. NeonCRM has helped us tremendously in streamlining our work with our volunteers and donors!

Cons: There is a bit of a learning curve to running some of the more detailed reports and importing donations.

Comments: I LOVE Neon and have had the best experience. We were using a desktop based CRM previously and Neon has made my job and life so much easier!

Pros: I love the ease of use. The reports that I can create. The conditions for emails and letters. The dashboard shows great information.

Cons: I wish that I could edit individual letters and emails especially for donation acknowledgments. Certain functions are a little too well hidden.

Comments: We had a great experience in the shopping experience for Neon. I appreciated that there was no hard sell, but Chris was very responsive to all our questions. We look forward to getting started.

Pros: We are just getting started, but we decided to go with Neon because it has all the features that a small non-profit needs to streamline and function well. We really need software that can manage donors, donor campaigns, communication and events well.

Cons: Again, we are just getting started so not sure what the cons might be. We were hoping for built-in auction software though that was not available.

Pros: System is very customize-able and can be replicated to look exactly like the already existing site of the organization so that donors do not feel like they are going to a third party site. Very user-friendly from the back end and has all the features you could want. Price is great for the value.

Cons: Slightly more expensive than some alternatives, but again, it is a great value for the price that you pay.

Pros: NEON is user-friendly and pretty intuitive. Many of the features are very useful to us and will save our staff a lot of time in the future. The constituent login feature in particular will be very helpful. The importing process has not been too stressful and configuring our system has been fairly smooth.

Cons: There are some features we wish NEON had, particularly the option for event registrants to pay in installments. We run a summer camp and many of our families need to pay in stages. Unfortunately, we have not been able to do this in NEON. Also, customer service could certainly be improved, the articles and training videos are helpful but sometimes it's necessary to talk to a representative to work through a question or issue.

Comments: Excellent value for the price!

Pros: After a little digging in, it's quite easy to use this system. The customer support has been very friendly and informative.

Cons: I wish the data importing feature was just a little more intuitive, and it would be nice to be able to edit fields without having to go back to the main settings page.

NeonCRM has an incredibly fine-tuned product, and a knowledgeable and attentive staff to bring non-profit needs into reality!

Pros: It can be assessed remotely without having to access a portal. Customer service is efficient, friendly and very knowledgeable of the product. Allows a snapshots among the organizations and individuals relationships. User friendly data entry screens.

Cons: Once donation is entered, the system does not allow to return to main demographics screen. Reports function has way too many criteria variables.

Comments: Overall I feel like this is a fairly good product for the investment.

Pros: The functionality of Neon is over the top. Literally everything you need all in one program! The database is easy to navigate, and Neon can generate just about every type of report I need to run.

Cons: I do feel like the technical support is a bit lacking. Being that they only provide ticketed support, I am sometimes at a standstill until I get an email back from tech.

Pros: It's cloud-based and accessible from anywhere. It also contains a lot of bells and whistles, like event management, social fundraising, and such.

Cons: The UI is acceptable for people with some degree of comfort with computers, and it's certainly more intuitive than, say, Sales Force. For the less tech-friendly, though, it can be complicated. I'm frustrated by the inability to customize the front page, for example, so that all users see specific charts or graphs (re: fundraising, events, etc.). I'm also frustrated that some of its modules are so lackluster--the email module being the most notable. And the lack of API support for popular services like Constant Contact is maddening.

Pros: The software is extremely user-friendly and has a super clean interface. When you log in, you're able to get the gist of how to operate the software without hours of training or looking at manuals. The home screen is free from clutter and has a very direct, intuitive design.

Cons: I think that my only change would be the structuring of the support library. Sometimes it's difficult to find exactly what I'm looking for, but I usually do.

Cons: Our old database was family or household based; Neon is individual based; fortunately we are trying to solve the problem through custom fields and custom imports. Individuals generally do not give by themselves - families give as a joint venture.

Comments: If you are a small non-profit, this system is NOT for you. You don't something this complicated.

Pros: The pros for the system include integration with Mailchimp and PayPal. But you have add all of the NEON ID's into each mail chimp account. Also, each account is very detailed, with donation information and if they read theirs emails. They do offer a discount for non-profits.

Cons: The system is VERY difficult. It takes hours of training and even after that, it still is very intricate. The cost of this program is outrageous compared to other systems.

Pros: It gives a small non-profit an affordable option for keeping track of donations and donors.

Cons: Customer service isn't very good and since the system has a lot of functionality, it can be hard to navigate.

Overall: The system has lots of functionality (tracking donations from multiple events, creating automatic thank you letters, end of year letters) and there are additional add-ons for more (crowd funding, integration into Quickbooks, etc). The ability to scale makes it more affordable than other bundled similar products that we looked into.

The biggest drawback is customer service. There is a large database of questions/answers, but without added expense, you are largely left to your own to figure out the system and set things up correctly. It's a good system for the value, but due to the lack of ease, I feel that we haven't utilized the system to it's fullest ability.

Comments: Overall great experience, I would recommend to another company if they were confident in problem solving.

Pros: I really like the ease of entering new donor's and sending tax receipts. I also really like the reports option and how easy it is to change the report and export it to excel. I also like the mail merge option, this is a huge time saver.

Cons: It is not user friendly to create new campaigns and new tax receipt letters. It takes me a long time to find where the emails and letters are stored then find the version I have to copy and work off then set up as the newer version and make sure it is connected to the campaign. It's a lot of steps that are not very user friendly and takes longer than necessary to find all the right steps.

Comments: So many platforms have a very comprehensive interface. I work in so many other platforms that feel far more intuitive than this one, though I can see once I actually master it, it can likely do all I need to do.

Pros: I like how many options there are within the system. It's obviously a very robust tool that can do just about anything a nonprofit needs.

Cons: It feels way more technical and complicated than it should. It's very difficult to accomplish small tasks and often I spend far too long testing and retesting things to figure them out.

Comments: We have only just begun using Neon for our non-profit connected to a small liberal arts college. We have lacked a comprehensive database and fundraising tool for keeping in touch with our supporters, and we are excited to use Neon to raise additional funds and be able to keep our constituents apprised of the work we're doing. Further, Neon's integrated registration system will make our biennial conference planning more streamlined and less cumbersome for our limited staff. Our sales consultant was helpful throughout the decision making process, making himself available without being high pressure, and he answered our many questions promptly and fully. And our professional services consultant has picked up the baton and been helpful and available from the get go.

Comments: I have been using the trial version of NeonCRM and it has not let me down yet. There are tons of features and options that might seem overwhelming, but as I thought about all the features we will need as we grow our charity, it seemed to me, that we will need most if not all of these features.

Pros: Complete feature set, great customer support, and tons of online tutorials

Cons: Seems complex with may options and some terms which at first did not make sense to me, but after reading the documentation and viewing the tutorial videos I am beginning to get a hang of it.

Comments: Knowing I needed a CRM I researched several. I found this company to far exceed ALL other companies in customer service! The ease of the system is a major plus as well. It encompasses everything I need in this program! Yes the value for the money is great! Neon includes options for my businesses that other companies charged a hefty add on price for. Not to mention other companies charged to train you to use the software. Neon had given me several options to work within their software to see if I like it, ask questions about it and even set me up with training videos BEFORE I EVER SIGNED UP! Comments: I was new to using a CRM type data base like NEON when we were researching programs and systems a year ago, so I had a lot of concerns about jumping in. Thanks to excellent live customer support as we launched and loaded, as well as the online support via videos and online knowledge base, I've been able to learn a ton and make NEON do what I need it to do. I feel like I'm always learning more and that we're still just scratching the surface of what is possible with this very powerful system. I think it is affordable, and I appreciate the ability to only pay for the modules we're using - we received terrific guidance from our client manager during our purchase and set up, and once they had a sense of the work we do, she recommended against our purchasing an additional module. We can always add more later. We have learned a great deal about our data and have decades worth of records that need housekeeping attention on our end, but we're moving forward and using NEON on a daily basis to support our work.

Pros: It's great to have our NeonCRM forms (membership, donations, etc.) match our website format. The online knowledge base is a great resource. We don't need to contact customer support that often because it typically answers most of our questions. They system helps to have all of our database needs in one place.

Cons: The email communications system could be slightly easier to use and have better design features, but for the most part it works fine. We have also opted not to use the store feature.

Comments: We have appreciated Neon as a central hub for our CRM and fundraising needs. The customer service is excellent! The capabilities are vast, albeit not very intuitive. Because of this, we've had to simultaneously utilize other programs for aspects that are available in Neon, but we've found too limited or complex to use. While I can't imagine managing our non-profit without Neon, the system itself is a bit of a maze and doesn't always work as fluidly or simply as we expect. We are definitely continuing on with Neon and determined to figure out more of the intricacies as we go. In the meantime - three cheers to their support team!

Comments: The adaptability of the program is somewhat cumbersome to learn, but the modules are easy to use once they are taught adequately by either the Neon service center or through another employee. I've discovered that asking for less information ultimately results in receiving more in return for reports. We are underutilizing the system for events and volunteer registration. I am curious how those would work.

Pros: The ease of merging reports to documents is very simple.

Cons: Learning the system took a long learning curve. Too many options are needless but still available, thus reducing how nimble the program is. Neon also limits the ability to edit online forms for your website.

Recommendations to other buyers: I suggest maintaining constant contact with their support system to guide you, especially through the first three or four months of using the system.

Comments: Switching to Neon has been a good move for our organization. We are able to better organize our information in a more comprehensive way. After 1 year of use we are still figuring out how to use all the functions of neon to our advantage. Customer service is quick to respond and pretty amazing.

Pros: It is very user friendly and it is accessible anywhere.

Cons: The formatting platform for system letters, system emails, and online forms is ridiculously bad. It looks like it might work like Word but it does not. It is so limited in its ability that I find we had to revamp everything we've always done with communication flow. This is very frustrating. There are so many good platforms out there - I wish neon would improve this feature. It would make life much easier with neon.

Recommendations to other buyers: When you complete the conversion, make sure you buy the comprehensive training package. We did not have live customer service when we went live with Neon and it forced us to fumble our way through those beginning months. I don't even think we knew that we wouldn't have someone to call when we had a problem. That said - the online support is amazing.

Comments: I am finally manoeuvring my way around NEON I find it a but combersome particularly because we are a charity so in regards to man power we utilise volunteers who may not be technologically advanced. I feel it could be more simplistic/user friendly. As the main user I wish I could set a volunteer on data input or to modify records without my assistance.

Pros: the online forms creation is unmatched. The depth of the product is excellent and the reporting can give you what you need to get the data from the system.

Cons: The volunteer module. You can't delete applications and projects. It is the weakest part of the system.

Overall: As both a user and as a consultant, I always recommend neon for any client who needs a self-service solution. I have not seen anything in the market that compares to the ability to create an online form for registrations, donations, memberships, constituent access and use.

In addition, the modules are all there for running a nonprofit - from the store, to events, to volunteers, there is a module and the cost for all of them is not significant.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't put the burden of the implementation on the provider. Put a plan together for implementation and make sure before you buy that you go over that plan.

Comments: So far I love NEON and as our organizations brand new development coordinator I'm glad I've been able to start using it right away. It's taken more time to get used to than I thought it would, but it's a big, very capable program with lots to offer my biggest concern is I won't know how to use it to its full potential! While there isn't a ton of ongoing live support there are dozens of training videos and how-tos available online. I have no doubt I'll be really up and running with this soon! Such a great switch from our old, cumbersome, outdated CRM from last year!

Pros: Good price, able to get started right away, some handy integrations, very friendly staff, tons of online webinars and recorded how-tos

Cons: Could use a few MORE integrations though I've heard more are in the works. Is taking me just slightly longer to figure out than anticipated.

Recommendations to other buyers: Really put the time in as soon as you get going with NEON. There are a few start-up phone calls and a configuration session, but if you already have some working knowledge of the program before you go through these you'll be in way better shape. Watch all the webinars and take notes!

Comments: Working in NeonCRM and working with the NeonCRM team has been absolutely wonderful. While no database or CRM is perfect, Neon checks off more "must have" and "would love to have" boxes than other databases I've worked with, or the database our organization used prior to Neon. Having a small (1.5 person) fundraising shop, it was imperative that we found a database that was intuitive and had features that were easy to use and easy to understand -- Neon hit the nail on the head. Having only 1.5 FTEs dedicated to fundraising has made implementation of all of the different features take a bit longer, but every time we put a new piece in place (i.e. the event module or the online store) it makes our lives easier and helps us be more efficient and effective with our time. Now, instead of using one platform for fundraising, another separate software for events, and a third for our store, everything is neatly packaged into one amazing database.

Pros: - Easy to use and understand - Amazing support staff - Regular updates to improve the product - Easy to set up with the help of Neon staff - Affordable - Custom reporting features are intuitive

Cons: - The fundraising dashboard isn't as customizable as I would like (i.e. you can feature campaigns, but you can't compare campaigns year over year on the dash) - I wish there was a way to manipulate some of the stock reports to get a better output for what we need

Recommendations to other buyers: Take full advantage of their free 30-day trial and use real data to discover all of the features.

Comments: I have only used Neon for my organization's trial period, but so far, my experience with has been terrific. My organization runs a variety of unique programs, so I was worried that I would have to do a lot of convoluted workarounds to make Neon functional for us. I was pleased to find that this was not the case. It is flexible and customizable enough to meet all our needs. It is intuitive to use and has a helpful knowledge base to explain anything that is not immediately apparent. And customer support has been great for any lingering questions. One thing I would love to see, and that other have requested, is the option to collapse all fields by default on individual and organizational accounts. You can hide fields entirely, but not set the default view to collapse the fields you don't want to be hidden. That is my only significant complaint so far.

Comments: After researching several other CRMs that seemed overwhelming to use and implement, I was pleased that NeonCRM is already up and running within a couple of weeks of implementing it. I was able to import our previous donor history, set up distribution lists, send group emails, and customize our donor page. I can usually find answers I need in the Knowledge base, and have watched many of the training videos. After just using it for 2 weeks it seems like a good fit for us.

Pros: Many features and a bit more intuitive than others I've seen. The WYSIWYG feature is a great help.

Cons: I wish I understood HTML more so setting up web pages and emails was a bit easier/quicker for me personally. Still, have much to learn to use it more effectively.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure to figure out what you hope NeonCRM can do for you so you can ask the right questions during set up and get the help you need on the front end.

Comments: Cultural Council of Indian River County is a very small (2 employee) non-profit with a limited budget. After thorough research, balancing our CRM needs with product cost, we chose Neon. The program is vastly superior to juggling Excel spreadsheets and Word documents. Our everyday management of memberships, donations, fundraising campaigns, and event tickets/reservations has been incredibly facilitated. This robust program is well worth the learning curve!

Pros: Ability to save and reuse report set-ups. Processing of memberships and donations is a breeze with pre-loaded mail merge thank you letters and emails. A generous quantity of data fields built in, plus the ability to add custom fields. Training videos, support website, and the Neon Technical Support Team are top-notch. I was able to initially input all my data using the tutorials and the data moved seamlessly.

Cons: Learning the program is moderately difficult, and to me, does not always seem intuitive. I find the system letter editor a challenge. Not all data fields are available to all report types, so report type must be chosen carefully.

Recommendations to other buyers: I've been using Neon several hours a day for about one year, and still learning, discovering, and exploring the program. Overall, I am extremely pleased, and definitely, the dreary and tedious "admin" tasks have been streamlined, allowing me to devote more time to spend on the aspects of my position I most enjoy. I highly recommend you consider NeonCRM.

Comments: I am still pretty new to working with Neon which can be good and bad. I think the software has a lot of useful features and offers quite a bit. However, I find it difficult to use and navigate through. Now, I don't know if that is because of how my organization has it set up or if that is how it is for everyone but it is difficult to understand and navigate around. The help section and training videos are very useful, especially when you get stuck or are not really sure where to begin. I look forward to learning more about what this software has to offer.

Comments: In my experience so far, this is a very good product with a lot of functions, but there is a learning curve and many functionalities should really be easier and more intuitive. It would be easier and more attractive if there were some drag and drop features (for building forms, etc). There are a couple features that seem obvious that are missing - such as the ability to mark attendance at all sessions of an event. The integration with Quickbooks so far seems to be not as helpful as I had thought, because it doesn't look to me like it records in QuickBooks the type of payment or donation (just who made it and how much it was). Overall, though, it is a good software that has allowed us to start doing many things we weren't able to do before, and has the most features of all the products we compared.

Pros: Many features, social (peer-to-peer) fundraising

Cons: Not very user friendly for either us or our consituents. Long url's for listing registrations and forms on social media.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it out as thoroughly as possible and make sure to watch videos and explore the help center.

Comments: As a nonprofit that only collects a 1.5% admin fee, we are very frugal. Neon is a very good value for the money. We use it to track membership, event registrations, interface with MailChimp for newsletters, etc. Once you become familiar with the interface it is easy to use and has many powerful features.
