### "Neon is in top 5 of CRM's"

March 30, 2026

5.0

Excellent! The support we receive is quick efficient. The product is great and always updating with new tools.

Pros

I like the ease of the product. From the first day we started to now there has not been a time when it has been frustrating.

Cons

No mass batching in Neon. We do utilize the mass upload via sheet, but it would be nice to have something built into Neon like Blackbaud Raisers Edge NXT. One other minor thing is not having an important field option for a query to get a correct data pull.

### "Highly recommend Neon CRM"

February 16, 2026

5.0

Overall, our experience with Neon CRM has been great. We are happy with the platform and the capabilities that it provides.

Pros

Neon CRM is very user-friendly. It has an intuitive interface that makes it easy for staff members to navigate without needing extensive training. This helps prevent data entry errors. I also like how Neon provides monthly webinars on product releases and updates to their platform. These webinars help us stay informed about new features, improvements, and best practices. It also shows that Neon is continuously improving its service and offerings. And finally, I like how Neon allows you to record not only donations, but store orders and grants. It makes managing these areas much more efficient and centralized.

Cons

I don't love Neon's donation forms because I wish they were more customizable. I also wish there were more customization options available for emails sent directly from the platform. While there are customization options available, I feel like both areas would benefit from more options.

### "Neon CRM is a great platform for the money"

March 3, 2026

5.0

we have been using Neon CRM since mid 2019 and it has come a long way. They are constantly adding features and listening to the needs of the clients. Most of what i know about Neon CRM is self taught in just clicking buttons and figuring it out and by watching the Neon Academy help demos. Overall, i only have good things to say

Pros

it is fairly easy to use and has most of the features we need. we have been working with a consultant who has helped us make better use of the product

Cons

some of the reporting is hard to get to pull what you are really after, though it has gotten way better

### "Decent CRM but not outstanding. I wouldn't purchase this software if I could have a do-over. "

March 31, 2026

3.0

We use it daily for donor management and communications. It does a lot of things, but not all of the things it does are done well.

Pros

I like that Neon CRM offers a wide range of services from the same platform. We use many of the services, like the letter generation and email service, daily.

Cons

Neon CRM doesn't integrate well with our events software, reporting is difficult and non-intuitive, and customer service is limited- as in they want you to pay for training, even if you have been a paying member for more than five years and haven't utilized their training.

### "Strong Constituent/Donor Management and Fundraising Tools, but Missing a Mobile App"

March 6, 2026

4.0

We use Neon CRM to manage donor relationships, track engagement, and support our fundraising campaigns. Once the system is set up, the automation and reporting features make it a powerful tool for nonprofit operations. The platform also includes strong security and permission settings through different user accounts, which helps protect sensitive donor information. That said, the initial setup required a significant investment of time for our organization. While the system provides many helpful features and solid value for money, the lack of a mobile app and challenges with duplicate management remain notable drawbacks. Overall, I would rate my experience with Neon CRM around a 7 out of 10.

Pros

Neon CRM has strong tools for donor management and organizing supporter information. The fundraising campaign features are particularly helpful because you can build larger campaigns and structure them with smaller subcampaigns underneath them. This makes it easier to set fundraising goals and track progress over time. The workflow automation is another highlight. It allows me to set notifications, such as reminders when installments might be expected, and to automatically place contacts into groups based on actions like attending events. This helps keep engagement organized without constant manual tracking. I also appreciate that the platform includes email campaign tools and customizable user accounts, which allow different team members to access and manage data appropriately. Overall, the platform provides good value for money considering the range of features available for nonprofits. It also has great security of data and customer support is timely.

Cons

The duplicate management tools could definitely be improved. In practice, the system sometimes flags contacts as duplicates simply because they share an address, such as people who work at the same organization. At the same time, it occasionally misses actual duplicates. It can also be frustrating that certain imports cannot be deleted once they are uploaded. Another major limitation is the lack of a reliable mobile app, which makes it difficult to manage donor information or check updates when away from a computer. Improvements in customer support documentation or troubleshooting around duplicate management would also be helpful.

### "A do-it-all CRM"

April 6, 2026

4.0

Definitely a positive experience with the company - I think they are doing a great thing making a CRM affordable for small nonprofits and they are very responsive. A moderate experience with the tool itself - it does A LOT which is amazing but it has its issues.

Pros

Neon CRM has everything all in one place! You can manage donations, memberships, pledges, volunteers, merchandise, email campaigns, text messaging, and events all in one platform which helps keep constituent profiles up to date and reduces import/export slog or time to add information to profiles. They also have a very helpful and responsive team and they listen to feedback which is great.

Cons

The menu structures are convoluted and Neon CRM lacks some functionality that other more focused donation management softwares (like Blackbaud) have available. These deficits span from the more strategic functionalities like built-in donor intelligence tools to help you assess capacity-to-give and accounting tools, to practical everyday functionality like an inability to add matched company gifts to existing constituent pledges or limitations with reports and forms. Neon is kind of a jack-of-all-trades so it makes sense it's not going to have the same depth as focused tools. BUT it is very affordable tool that does a lot if you are a small nonprofit.

### "Neon CRM has been great! "

March 5, 2026

5.0

It's been a reliable program to keep our donor database updated through the years. We went from keeping track of our donors in an Excel sheet to using Neon CRM, and it has helped us keep better track of our growing donor community.

Pros

The customer support team that onboarded us was truly amazing to work with. The database and reporting system is very easy to use.

Cons

Sometimes when I am setting up a new report, I can't get all the available columns that I might need in a report, but then I am able to find a workaround. Neon CRM is a robust system to work with, overall.

### "Easy reporting & great customer support"

April 2, 2026

4.0

So far it has been good. Customer support has been extremely helpful when we needed it, and the functionality of the CRM is really good. Reporting is a breeze - with many built-in reports and the ability to simply create new.

Pros

It's more affordable than what we were using, and it's able to handle our accounts, donations and events all in one place. I also appreciate the ability to better steward our donors, and the workflows available (our last CRM only allowed 2 workflows without an upgrade and more $$)

Cons

The data conversion was a challenge - we included the standard conversion, but it only allowed us to bring over 6 files - the way our former CRM exported things was MUCH more than 6 files, so we had to choose. I am also disappointed that there is no way to import relationships - our organization is a youth organization dating back over 60 years, so we have multiple generations of accounts and have to manually build the relationships (other than households).

### "Great Company, Ever-Evolving Products"

April 7, 2026

4.0

Our organization has experienced rapid growth in the last two years. Our previous systems (read: random spreadsheets with different owners) could not keep up with the new demand so we started exploring CRM options. After reviewing about a dozen CRMs, Neon came out on top. No CRM is perfect but Neon is constantly working to improve their platform. Their team is always quick and courteous to respond when I have a question or encounter an issue. We're happy with our choice!

Pros

The user interface is easy to navigate, especially if you already know what you’re looking for. Overall, onboarding has been relatively straightforward for our team, and we were able to get started without much trouble. It would be helpful if their were more information buttons next to fields that link to how-to articles in case a user doesn't understand that field's purpose. It would save the time of looking for articles.

Cons

I wish I could send one-time invoices. Our members request invoices for dues payments or other miscellaneous items and I'm forced to use Stripe.

### "A Major Step Forward for Our Nonprofit Operations"

February 14, 2026

5.0

Overall, our experience with the NeonOne CRM has been extremely positive. Since implementing the system, our fundraising efforts have become more successful, with clearer tracking, better donor insights, and more efficient campaign management. The tools available within NeonOne have helped us be more strategic and confident in how we approach fundraising. Email campaigns are also significantly easier to manage and more effective. We are able to reach more of our members and constituents, communicate more consistently, and tailor messages in ways that feel intentional rather than overwhelming. Combined with improved donor and membership management, NeonOne has strengthened our ability to engage our community and support our mission.

Pros

NeonOne has been a major improvement for us at the Napa County Historical Society. Its pricing is fair and scalable to our yearly profit, making it well suited for small nonprofits like us. NeonOne makes donor and membership management straightforward and efficient, both within the CRM and through its integration with the website, they work well together so we can better plan events and guide our growing membership. This has streamlined our workflows and with a very small staff, has saved us a lot of time to focus on our mission. Customer service has been consistently strong. The support team was fantastic during setup, and the ongoing trainings and resources have been very helpful for our staff. Overall, our entire team enjoys using NeonOne, and it has been a significant step forward in improving our operations and capacity as a nonprofit.

Cons

One area for improvement is the website functionality. We would love to see more flexibility with spacing and image placement, as well as stronger integration between the website and membership and donation forms. Enhancing these features would make it easier to create more customized pages and provide a smoother experience for both staff and supporters.

### "NeonCRM is a solid customer management tool and more!"

February 17, 2026

5.0

Overall our experience with NeonCRM has been very positive. We have been using NeonCRM for almost 13 years and it has changed a lot over that time period. Neon is constantly updating the features, look and feel of the software to improve the user experience. They are very supportive and open to feedback from the Neon community.

Pros

NeonCRM offers the core functions we need to manage our non-profit. In particular managing donors, events/classes plus reporting. The built in security provides us the confidence that payment processing is secure. Neon's customer support is top notch. It's easy to launch a new fundraising campaign and track the results. The overall user interface is easy to use and very intuitive. We also use NeonPay which provides a seamless link for payment processing. The QBO sync works very well and provided you set up your mapping to match your books it makes updating your accounting records very easy. Although we don't use all the functions of NeonCRM is is good value for the money. On top of that NeonOne provides many webinars and online guides to help you manage the database and get the most of the various features it offers.

Cons

Not being able to exclude payment processing fees from donor reports and statistics. These fees impact the results and distort the statistics. We are hopeful that the new events module will be as good as the legacy events and that it will be easier to distinguish between performance events and classes.

### "Neon CRM Review"

February 26, 2026

Donor management is excellent. Creating and running campaigns easy to use. Events are easy to track, too. Love the platform that allows emails to go directly to donors, et al. I’m new at using Neon, but experience has been good so far.

Pros

It’s pretty easy to use compared to other CRM platforms I’ve used in the past. Log in, menus within CRM are easy to navigate.

Cons

### "Works well enough "

February 13, 2026

3.0

I've used a few different CRMs while working in nonprofits and I'd say Neon is in the middle of the pack. It can be clunky and cumbersome to work with - not the most intuitive but once you become familiar with the platform it does what we need it to as a small non-profit. Would prefer the donor profile pages and reports to be cleaner and more directly linked for easier use but I can flip back and forth or open teh database in multiple windows to be able to coordinate info so can easily work around the limitations with a couple of extra steps.

Pros

Fairly user friendly - good built in onboarding materials. One place to keep all information and event registrations. Pre-existing reports are nice, though I would like to be able to create more custom reports for our orgs specific needs.

Cons

Feels clunky compared to other CRMs I have used. Quite basic, does not allow for as much customization of reports and fields as I would like. Also would like more ability to work directly in the CRM with my fellow development and communications colleagues. Donor profile pages are very disjointed and messy - I have to dig to find the info I need as it is spread across different tabs and not all of the categories are easily accessible to run in reports which is a real pain as I have to make a report and then go into the individual donor profiles to find the additional info I need and enter it manually.

### "NeonCRM is a Great Product!!!"

December 30, 2025

5.0

I've been thrilled with the CRM!!! It's quite easy to use. It's fast, and we've experienced virtually no downtime at all. I also love the integration with QuickBooks Online and the integration with Windfall (a wealth screening tool).

Pros

Value for money, donor management, user interface, donor communications, connection to bank via NeonPay, flexible reporting, continual release of new features and capabilities.

Cons

Their support used to be marginal (a bit hard to get timely answers), but they've just heavily invested in support staff and tools so I anticipate that won't be an issue going forward.

Reason for choosing Neon CRM

Neon's pricing model made so much more sense, and it was simpler to use. We looked at other vendors, too, but I don't remember their names. ### "Good, Improving Platform! "

April 2, 2026

4.0

Neon is a very good and useful CRM for all of the use cases our non-profit needs, it's unusual to get a system that manages memberships, events, fundraising, email campaigns etc. all in one place. It's quite easy to use and intuitive, apart from certain reporting challenges and clunkiness when setting up automations and workflows.

Pros

Neon is great for being able to manage all of our different use cases, including events, memberships, report building, etc. The customer service team is great and are very quick to respond when I have questions or need help with building on certain parts of our CRM. There has been a large number of updates recently and I feel that Neon are really working on improving any pain points. It's only getting better to use it. It's also very useful for managing, tracking and reporting on donor management, fundraising events and through direct campaigns or peer to peer on Neon Fundraise.

Cons

There are lots of steps which need to be completed for setting up things like events and emails, but they're not intuitive or located in the same place. E.g, sending out an event confirmation email for example requires you to set up an email in a completely different part of the system. I would also appreciate better capabilities for building live dashboards within the system and a way to build my reporting needs into the system.

### "A very rich and dymanic system! I haven't had a need yet that it cannot address!"

November 25, 2025

5.0

I have been very impressed! The entire system seems to be very well thought-out and very well designed. It has a great variety in flexibility and capabilities to meet a wide variety of demands for a wide variety of customers. They clearly take the customer experience very seriously!!

Pros

I still consider myself a relatively new client and I am still learning, and as I continue to get to know the system better and better, I keep finding new ways that are already in the system that I can use to my benefit and advantage. The whole system seems to be very well thought out. It seems like they really looked at the needs of many clients with many different needs and they are focused on accommodating all of them! The system is very rich and very dynamic!

Cons

I am a relatively new user and I haven't found much I don't like at this point. Sometimes I don't feel like I can see the bigger picture of everything the system can do. One thing that has been a little challenging is when I am filling out a form and there is a drop down, sometimes there is nothing in the drop down, so I know I need to add things to the drop down, but I have to do some searching to find out where I can add those items. It's not very intuitive and it does not tell me where I need to go to add those items in. I can usually find them, though. It just takes some time.

Reason for choosing Neon CRM

Honestly, I really don't recall who else we looked at. I only chose Webex because I had to select something in that box. Seemed very impressive, very dynamic, showed a lot of attention to detail and they seemed to really understand the needs of non-profits. We also received a very strong personal recommendation.

### "Reliable Donor Management Tool"

October 16, 2025

5.0

Overall, Neon CRM offers solid value for the investment. The features and support it provides help us operate efficiently and maintain donor trust, which is essential for our work. We feel the platform is well worth the cost, especially as we continue to grow and deepen our understanding of its capabilities.

Pros

Our team at the SEG Foundation relies on Neon CRM for donor management, and it has truly elevated our ability to steward resources responsibly. The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, which helps our staff stay focused on mission-driven work. We especially appreciate the helpful video tutorials and responsive customer support, which make onboarding and troubleshooting smooth. Neon CRM also incorporates nonprofit best practices in its reporting features, giving our donors confidence that their contributions are being used wisely and transparently. It’s a platform that supports both efficiency and trust.

Cons

While Neon CRM has been a valuable tool for our donor management, we’ve encountered some nuances in the system that we haven’t fully grasped yet. Certain features or workflows can feel a bit complex, and we’re still learning how to best utilize them. We’d appreciate more clarity or guidance in those areas to help us maximize the platform’s potential.

### "Love NeonCRM!"

November 24, 2025

4.0

Overall? Positive. The customer support has been excellent. I would say that 90% of what we were were promised by sales is true, and we have talked about looking for another CRM because of the duplicate accounts issue, but always decide not to because Neon shines in so many other categories.

Pros

I have been using Neon since late 2019 for our 501(c)(6) small national organization. The implementation process was excellent, and I felt like our rep was responsive and knowledgeable. Additionally, when we have had issues or questions, either our rep or the ticketing system has always been there! My absolute favorite feature is the robust reporting. You can build your own reports, including MANY parameters to search by and which data are included in the output. You can save reports and schedule them to be delivered to you or someone else. You can publish them (password protected or not) to a URL, which has allowed me to build custom reports for different committees, then give them access to the reports, so I don't have to pull the report, download it, then email it to the committee chairs every time they'd like to check in on how their committee is doing. Huge time saver! The other huge time saver is Workflows. I mean, WOW. We use these automations to approve or deny membership applications, assign regions, and send automated new member notifications to those who need to know. The event registration feature has been very helpful, we love the Account Notes feature, and it's been amazing to send out a survey whose responses fill members' profiles!

Cons

We're having some trouble with "duplicate accounts," as a Company account and an Individual account is created for every member. This causes difficulty for the members (when they login to the "wrong" account, they do not have an active membership), as well as obfuscating how long someone has been a member, as they might renew on the Individual account one year and the Company account the next, so complete membership records are divided between two accounts. We have determined most of the problem, but part of it is that the renewal funnel is confusing to members, so they will add themselves as a sub-member, which creates the duplicate Individual account. You cannot (1) send invoices for members to pay within NeonCRM, so we are using a 3rd-party solution for that. Nor can you (2) make a credit card surcharge mandatory. It's just not an option. We also wish we could (3) use the new events module, but we are "stuck" on the "legacy events" because it makes zero fiscal sense for us to switch to NeonPay (WAY more expensive than our current processor, even if without surcharging), but I feel like we are missing out on features and that Neon is trying to strong-arm or nickle-and-dime ($199 monthly 3rd-party processor fee) us into switching to NeonPay. It's childish.

Reason for choosing Neon CRM

It came down to reporting (as promised or better!) and the ability to allow us to have company and individual memberships (does not really work as promised).

### "Neon keeps us pedaling!"

February 26, 2026

3.0

One on one demo with account rep for Windfall integration. I think watching the tools live is great and being able to talk to an accont rep while going thourgh a new product or tool.

Pros

The dashboard and being able to re-arrange it. The left side - member/donor navigation. Live demo and trainings. I like interactive learning. Great that they happen quickly.

Cons

The query/build a report is challanging. The Greater than but + or less than is hard. Sometimes you just want a basic search. I would really like viedo demo trainings. I am neurodivergent and I do not follow the written instructions well.

### "Great Support Team, Slight Learning Curve"

November 24, 2025

4.0

Expect to spend some time onboarding and learning the system; don’t assume everything will be immediately obvious. Please take advantage of Neon’s support and training resources (like their help docs, webinars, or onboarding team). Those are super helpful. Budget extra time early on for workflow setup, especially to design the custom views or reports you actually need.

Pros

Neon One CRM is a powerful tool with a lot of functionality packed in, especially strong for managing constituent data, donations, and engagement in a nonprofit context. What really stood out to me was their customer support: whenever I ran into something confusing or needed help figuring things out, their team was responsive, patient, and very knowledgeable. That level of support made a big difference in getting the most out of the system.

Cons

My main gripe is that the system is not the most intuitive. There’s a definite learning curve: features aren’t always where you'd expect them, and workflows can feel a little fragmented. It sometimes takes a fair bit of exploration (or help from support) to figure out how to do even simple tasks. For new users or people who don’t spend a ton of time in the CRM, it can be challenging to navigate.

### "Neon is good for small non-profits"

October 22, 2025

5.0

Great! It a huge plus having all the things you need live in one environment and most of our staff is ok with technology but not pros and it's easy to use.

Pros

It's easy to use even for non-tech people. We just purchased volunteer management and haven't used it, but there's a huge plus for having fundraising, events and volunteer in one place

Cons

The support can be lacking and the cost is high. They have great introductory rates, but for a small-to meduim non-profit can be cost prohibitive

### "Neon CRM meets our needs as an organization"

February 17, 2026

4.0

We are happy with Neon CRM, it meets our needs as a medium-sized organization and importantly they are responsive when we need help.

Pros

Neon One matches the sophistication we need for our organization - donor management, email marketing and advanced reporting options. I like that there are many ways to seek help from the platform and they are usually pretty responsive and helpful. They will work with you to solve a problem until you've gotten to the bottom of it and they are welcoming of feedback and suggestions.

Cons

The design isn't the most beautiful, you mainly can't get help over the phone, there is some sophistication to user accounts that I wish it had and I wish the email marketing was a bit more sophisticated.

### "Nice event management and fairly easy to use"

December 1, 2025

4.0

My background is in technology and the entrance to using Neon One was fairly simple. They have good educational learning, and I like the features of events and an online storefront.

Pros

Neon One is a good product for a one-stop-shop. The feature that we use often is event management and the online shopping for members. These are two features that you don't usually find in other software platforms.

Cons

They have few resources for educational systems and managing alumni. You have to use another software to find alumni and then ask them to join the Neon One CRM database, a bit clunky.

### "Director of Development "

February 13, 2026

4.0

Great but there is sharp learning curve. Yes, trainings are provided but it would be nice to have more than one free phone call to onboard new folks and to problem solve.

Pros

I love having the ability to have full donor management software that can grow with my organization as needed. Needed tools seem to be submitted by the NEON user community and added fairly quick.

Cons

The Global Settings menu is confusing when trying to find what you need. I feel that Neon support staff are not easily accessible to our needs without paying. Legacy events have settings I wish New Gen Events had. NeonPay feels like is shouldnt be an upsell opportunity for Neon to users but rather an integration at any user/organization level for a small start up fee.

### "Beware that there is an annual contract even if they do not point that out to you"

December 13, 2025

2.0

Their team seems to expand and expand and make improvements, but customer service has become more and more removed. There is a hidden fee of $6.99 in using their payment portal, along with all the other payment processing fees. I wish they would just add this to the monthly account fee to be more upfront. Also, they try to push you into using their payment portal by making it onerous to import soft credits. Also, soft credit do not appear in the total giving of a donor so you have to run separate reports.

Pros

NEON CRM has continuously improved its reports functions. I also like that you can search by name from any page.

Cons

We were given the impression we were not under contract when we signed up over 6 years ago. We thought that we could leave at any time. They are saying that when we started, we agreed to yearly contracts when we checked the box "agreed to terms," which links to another page they update regularly with legalese. So, we are being charged for an additional 6+ months we don't need. There was no note of this date in our customer portal, nor any of our invoices. We never signed anything except the first invoice, which we did not take to be a contract.
