Comments: Easy Member Pro is the heart of a system I built for a client. The client has more than10,000 members and 500 products offered to the members.
There are two huge areas where EMP is great. Both these areas have a lot to them,
1. EMP includes all the functionality membership sites need. Just figuring out what all the function that are necessary is a big job. Everytime I discovered a new big feature we needed, I would find out EMP has one of those built in. To name one, EMAILING. EMP has really good email programs built right in.
2. Customizing EMP is reasonable from a programming standpoint. Usually, modifying product is really hard, because of twisted ways the software is put together. EMP is put together in a way I found easy to understand, without too many curveballs.
1. The only smtp option built in is PEAR mail. A quick conference with "Mr. Google" will provide you with a sense of the problems that PEAR mail can bring on. The problem with PEAR mail is it is part of PEAR, which is more than just some software for your website, but a way of putting a server together using PEAR for managing your unix packages. The package management I already had and PEAR did not get a long and that cost me a lot of time
2. The join our site process is great, provided your name is Kim Standerline, who is the person who called the shots on what goes into EMP. All we needed was a script allowing people to sign up. EMP join process does not work until you have payment processing setup. A one time offer feature is built in, and a big hassle within the programs.
