It provides a productive development environment and allows applications to be developed much faster while still supporting enterprise-level requirements. I have worked with different aspects of the platform, including UI development, business logic, database operations, integrations, reusable components, and ODC. What I particularly appreciate is the ability to start with visual development and then extend the application with custom CSS, JavaScript, SQL, APIs, and other technologies when required. The platform has also given me an opportunity to continuously improve my development and architecture skills. Pros OutSystems makes application development much faster and more efficient compared to traditional development approaches. I particularly like the visual development experience in Service Studio, where UI, logic, data, and integrations can be developed in a structured way. The platform also provides good support for reusable components, APIs, database integrations, and responsive application development. My experience with O11 and ODC has also helped me understand how low-code development can be used to build and maintain enterprise applications while reducing development effort. Cons The platform has a learning curve, especially when moving from basic development to advanced concepts such as architecture, performance optimization, integrations, extensions, and ODC/Constellation. Some advanced customization requirements may also require JavaScript, CSS, or external code, so developers need additional technical knowledge beyond the visual development environment. Documentation and examples for some advanced or newer ODC features could also be more extensive. Pros Very easy to learn and start developing. The apps generated have a good look and feel while comparing with other enterprise tools (that usually look bland). Deployments, database, scheduled task, workflows, everything is easy and quick to setup. Cons The licensing options are a bit confusing. While is it very good for smaller apps, if the apps grow too much, they can become a pain to maintain.
