Pros: Ability to set available time for individuals and thus the ability to see who is available for shifts and plug them in to maintain the coverage we need. Dashboard to see how is currently on. We haven't deployed it out to the staff themselves yet but when we do I anticipate the ability to notify not making a shift and requesting someone to cover for them is going to be a plus over the current email notices being used today.

Cons: We would like to be able to see the ability to make more global changes -- such as highlighting all staff to make a global change. Secondly, ability to set overall open hours for the business.

Very easy to navigate, and very useful. I use it often

Pros: What I like the most is how shows the sum of the hours worked per week and per day and how you can change your availability. I also like the layout overall, everything is easy to find and understand without needing to ask for clarification.

Cons: I like how I'm able to click on the date that I'm working on and have it show the amount of hours everyone is working that day. I dislike how this can only be done for the day of instead of future days.

It was extremely easy well-rounded and highly educational

Comments: I would recommend this to anybody keep up the good work!

Pros: That the steps are so simple to overcome when there's a problem. Whenever i needed to fix or correct a shift or extend job info, the steps and process was very easy.

Cons: I have no dislikes about the product. There are very few issues and when they occur, it almost feels like they resolve fast.

Pros: How I get reminders about my next shift/when the new schedule is out. I have the ability to post my avaliable times/days.

Cons: At first glance can't see who I'm working with, I would have to find it within the app. And nor in the beginning of my training I was not emailed about the schedule on humanity, in result I was late on my first day.

Overall: Keeping tract when I work

Humanity has been a great way for our company to keep everyone on the same page.

Pros: The global scheduling and time keeping is great. We like having everything in one system. The ability to upload files is a great asset as well as the company dashboard for quick communication.

Cons: The mobile app has some limited features that make checking schedules of others complicated. There some occasional issues with the system going down during business hours.

Overall: Easy to use system for scheduling and time keeping.

My experience is the web version works fantastic. The mobile version needs a lot of work.

Pros: Ease of use. Reports are seamless and easy to use. Clock management works fantastic. The time clock feature helps everything work well together.

Cons: The mobile app needs work. It is very difficult to use the mobile app. I would like Humanity to make this a priority.

Pros: It is so easy to use! Adding new employees is a breeze and uploading schedules is even easier! It can be sent right to the employees email and or cell phone so they always have access to their schedule.

Cons: I love everything about humanity. If I had to think of one thing I dislike I dislike it, it would probably be something as irrelevant as I wish it would save my log in information so I don't have to type it in everytime. This is seriously the best software!

Pros: Easy to keep track of employees shifts. Can list hundreds of different projects and hundreds of employees with many variables on how you can view this information. Keeps you really well organized.

Cons: Sometimes the settings can be confusing as there are a lot of different variations of settings. Also having multiple logins, the settings are confusing.

Pros: Shiftplanning is great for shift organization and personnel tracking. Our employees use it on a day to day basis.

Cons: Lack of interface customization. Other than that, there is isn't much else to complain about. Overall solid product.

A complete waste of money & resources - terribly unreliable with so many bugs.

Pros: If it worked, it would be a fantastic product. The schedule copying facility is theoretically great as well as the clocking in feature... if only it wasn't riddled with bugs.

Cons: We spent 3 months trying to set our staff up with this. We had so many bugs - affecting scheduling, pay, permissions - a total nightmare and waste of so much effort.

Overall: None in the end. Just a waste of resources and money.

Service has been great! Having the customer service really makes this what it is.

Pros: Hands Down the customer service. It is fairly user-friendly but can be complicated at times when doing things that repeat. Having the customer service that is very fast and reliable regardless of the time of day makes this software very valuable.

Cons: Doing reoccurring shifts can sometimes be complicated. Also, my employees didn't like the clock-in/clock-out functionality, so we ended up having to use another software application.

Overall: Easy for employees to see shifts and the reminders are huge. The reminders have definitely helped us reduce missed shifts.

Overall it has been a great user friendly experience, however not a fan of the recent price increase

Pros: I love that you can start and stop the service, as we are a seasonal business. I enjoy the easy to use features like copying a schedule, pictures of employees and being able to upload a whole list of employees at once. I love the easy reporting systems for quick reference. The customer service is great, and I love the chat feature.

Cons: The price per person is outrageous and you can find comparable products on the market for less. I would not pay that, but I am locked in at a lower rate. I wish you could disable multiple employees at once. It would be great if they would develop a flat rate monthly fee for seasonal business such as firework stands, corn mazes, Christmas tree farms etc. I know lots of people looking for something like that.

Pros: I like the ease of use of Shiftplanning - - it's easy to set-up an employee and to add them to a schedule.

Cons: Not all of the "functions" are where I would expect them to be, but once I learned my way around the website, it's easy to use.

The software is mostly easy to use - ONCE you figure out how to make it work best for your company.

Pros: We have several different time clock locations and this makes using the timeclock and scheduling feature easy for us.

Cons: No batch printing option for timesheets. Our payroll provider isn't a Humanity partner so payroll is time consuming for us. Also, we have been using this software for 8 months and are still trying to figure out which features work best for us. Having an in-person onboarding/set-up would have made a world of difference.

Overall: Remote timeclock feature.

As a manager with many employees, schedules and work areas, this program has been life changing!

Pros: I love how easy it is to use. I'm able to manage my ever changing schedule/staff with minimal effort. It's very easy to fill overtime slots and approve vacation requests ensuring my employees have a great work/life balance.

Cons: There are some limitations when it comes to customizing the interface. I'd like to be able to change the default option for requesting time off. I'd also like to be able to change some of the terminology used to better reflect what I'm using it for.

Overall: Prior to Humanity, our schedule was managed via email and Microsoft calendars. It was nearly impossible to appropriately approve vacation requests and get overtime shifts covered. After implementing Humanity the amount of stress that was eliminated was absolutely life changing!

Pros: Easy to add multiple positions for each employee. Easy get setup and go. Easy to schedule for multiple weeks. Good value for features offered.

Cons: Your employees can't see the total time they've worked in the app. They can see each timesheet but they have to log into the computer to see the total hours.
Some of the more advanced features are frustrating to figure out at first.
Humanity doesn't subtract leave automatically

Overall: Saved us so many scheduling headaches. We were able to switch from an excel sheet to a program that will almost run itself (if only employees didn't get sick or have something come up last minute). We would not be able to schedule the 150+ shifts per week without humanity!

WE have multiple crews on different job sites so this software helps us to keep track them

Pros: Visually it is very clear and easy to read. It is also very reliable and we have had no problems. Thanks

Cons: It's definitely set up more for shift work than multiple job coverage. I'm not sure if we will be able to use this if we continue to grow our number of crews

Overall: Without this software we would probably have to use a large table and a map with 20 figurines to track up to 6 crews working on jobs all over the country. Each day (or sometimes hour) when I get a call asking for a date to change or the project scope to increase or decrease we would have to dump the table over and start again.

Pros: Love the repeat Shifts and how you can move staff around with out redoing all the work. The email reminders are convent also.

Cons: Wish you could print off a one page calendar to post in the place of work. Some times we have and error emails in regards to shifts.

Overall: Cuts down my work time of staffing. Emails are wonderful reminders. the sign in and out feature helps with payroll.

Pros: easy intuitive graphical interface, great customer service for whatever questions you may have.

Cons: I believe there were 2 or 3 but off the top of my head I can only remember that the schedule editing, for repeating shifts is not that easy to edit once you create it. I believe if you change something on one of those repeating shifts there's no option to make that global. You pretty much have to delete the schedule and recreate a new repeating one to do that.

The app is easy to use and serves its purpose of scheduling staff.

Pros: You can use either the app or the computer to schedule staff. You are able to add notes in the app for each job. I like the notifications that are sent out to staff when a change is made and the notifications I receive when a shift is unacknowledged or put up for trade.

Cons: You are not able to see the shifts that were unacknowledged on the app, you have to use the computer. You are unable to post an open shift on the app, you must assign it to a specific person.

Overall: I am able to track jobs, employee hours and budgeting information with this app.

Pros: We like the ease of scheduling our guards and getting their shifts acknowledged electronically. Our guards like the ease of access as well.

Cons: It is a hassle that they charge per active employee instead of ranges of employees. The security industry has a high turn over rate and having to disable guards regularly can be hard sometimes

Pros: easy process, it also me to see exactly where my employees clock in and out and let me know if they are on time to their shifts

Cons: sometimes we have glitches to clock in depending on the area my nurses are in and we have to clock them in from the office which is not so good because we don't know exactly where they are when they are asking us to clock them in

Pros: I have the flexibility to set the software up the way I need to for efficient scheduling. My schedules are complex and I am able to create 'workarounds' to better utilize the software.

Cons: I have a few issues: I have many providers (employees) that work more that 1 position simultaneously. It would be wonderful if you could selectively check or uncheck a box for each position to determine whether the position will show if it conflicts with another position. (But not globally turn off the conflicting feature for all conflicts).

If an employee covers 2 positions simultaneously, it shows as a conflict. It would be nice if there was a `work around¿ for this. If you could select/deselect a box to designate whether you want a position to show a conflict, this would be great. That way, some positions that are covered by an employee working another position would not show as a conflict every time.

For example, There are a few positions that staff are assigned to that they do in addition to their main assigned position - e.g. someone working MCH Attending will also cover the OB Dept. This is done on a rotation/alternating basis but changes often. Whenever a provider is working MCH Attending and also covering OB Backup, I have to adjust the time of the OB coverage so that a conflict does not show up. If I didn't, I would have twenty or more conflicts each month and, as you know, once you get in the habit of ignoring conflicts, you then ignore the one that is a `real conflict and a problem results.

The conflict feature is great, yet is sometimes a pain because I have to create 'workarounds' which are less than desirable.

Overall: Providers can see all of their schedules in one place - I do over a hundred. They can sync with some third party calendar programs and check on their smartphones.
The software is not geared toward the healthcare industry, however. MD's work more than 1 position at a time. These should not conflict. Yet conflicts should show if they're mistakenly scheduled for a clinic at another location or for a meeting when they need to be in the clinic. This is a problem.

Cons: NO customer service, no evolution in the functionalities in three years

Overall: My company has been using this app for three years now - we reported repeatedly a few malfunctions and they never came back with anything more than "Thanks we will work on it" and the nothing happens. Problems range from sms not working to wrong break management.
We keep using it just because it's not a mission critical app and it's cheap, but when we find some time we will look for a better one.

Recommendations to other buyers: Definitely not suitable for companies with more than 3-4 employes

Pros: inexpensive, well sited

Cons: It does not come from a management perspective, but rather from an HR one. Alerts are lacking. Shift management display (as a manager, my primary (over 90%) display) is clunky and quite often uninformative.

Overall: I've been managing for over 25 years. Some things are common to all of us - such as needing notifications regarding not only shifts needing coverage, but who is picking up those shifts. Another example is the interface that managers look at first: not the personnel listing (that's an HR function) but rather a position view - or better, a visual view that is uncluttered and able to be made default. We need to see various things - such as what shifts are uncovered, what shifts are irregular (might normally be Jane, but John is covering it today), etc.

Unfortunately, Humanity does not do these things, and even though I've asked for them, I have not gotten any positive feedback for them. Some of them I've been told that they are not possible.

Humanity/Shiftplanning is the best platform I've found, commercially. I WISH that it did the things I need. I know these things CAN be done (we'd used a custom solution for years) but I wish that Shiftplanning would do them.

It seems that Humanity wants to be an HR platform and not a true management tool for managers.

Comments: We are a training company and use humanity to see which of our employees have a training scheduled. But besides that, we also use the time clock for hourly employee AND we keep our office conferences there as well so that everyone in our organization can see when is a good time to meet with someone. Humanity has met every single need around when it comes to scheduling. Great app!

Pros: They are great at taking your money.

Cons: scheduling is rigid and unable to accommodate atypical (non-weekly) schedules. User interfacing is lacking. Customer service is slow, and makes promises they are not authorized to keep.

Overall: We had been using this software for years. They decided to change everything about it, making it harder for all my employees. We have switched to a cheaper system that provides better support, more robust schedule building templates, and greater connectivity to employees. Thank you for ruining your software so I had a reason to find someone better.

Recommendations to other buyers: it was better before you ruined it.

Pros: Best customer service - hands down

Cons: The fact that we've long been promised the ability to share employees between multiple locations, and the ability to post a single message from the parent account to trickle down to ALL employees without the need of signing into each individual account.

Overall: We've been a long time user of Shiftplanning, and have been eagerly awaiting Humanity for quite some time. The only problem with ease of use that we're having is that some things aren't where they used to be, so we find ourselves going on a biblical quest (seek and ye shall find). However, that being said, the customer support is unmatched in any system that we use. As to the features and functionality, we've been awaiting some features that are still yet to roll out. We were also waiting for some features that may not even come to pass, such as the ability to share employees between locations (as the beta humanity version showed) without the need of creating new email address and having that employee being put into multiple locations and of course paying for that user access multiple times. All in all, I would (and have) suggest Humanity to anyone seeking an employment shift solution.

Overall: I only manage 25 employees, thank goodness, but I'm not going to do it with a pencil and paper. It's easy to make changes, notify employees of schedule changes and they love it. It's also very helpful to slide that bar to cover our busy times and the availability feature is great as well as the request for time off.

Recommendations to other buyers: I pay for it myself, so a little pricey, but the customer service is STELLAR!

Overall: I was just using a rudimentary spread sheet when I came across Humanity. I love the simplicity and ease of the product and how it interfaces across so many forms of communication. Brilliant product. I don't see us ever looking elsewhere for a similar product. Love it!

Pros: Shift management, employee management, time clock management, payroll and employee reporting, etc.

Cons: can be sometimes confusing in steps to get to the end needed.

Overall: I think Humanity is a great tool for small to large companies. It sure helped us keep staff on track timewise and all. It can be sometimes confusing at first, but once you understand the logic and concept of the system, it flows. Tech Support is great, and always was able to get any issues corrected and/or corrected me in how I was doing steps.

Recommendations to other buyers: needs more HR and PR functions incorporated to make it one-stop-for-all.

Pros: It's inexpensive and the mobile apps makes shift changes and reminders much more convenient.

Cons: Clunky. Customer support is inconsistent. Usually I have to wait several hours for a call back or chat response.

Overall: It's better than the older Shiftplanning, particularly the functionality of the mobile app, but otherwise still quite clunky. It would be a better product for me if it could register in a report all employee shift releases so as to track how often which employees are doing this. It would also be best if it could integrate with Team Dynamics, an ITSM product we have adopted for the Computer Services Department at the State University of New York at New Paltz. The lack of integration may be a deal breaker during the coming academic year (Fall 2017 - Spring 2018).

Recommendations to other buyers: Demanding your logo placement on my university's website, as you did last spring as a condition of an educational discount, is uncalled for.

Comments: Humanity has been very helpful in our business and it works out great. If there's anything that needs to be updated, there are two things: 1) Please make it easier to find schedules that need to be republished. We have multiple people administering our account, and if a change is made and we don't want to republish all of the schedules, it's difficult to locate the 1 or 2 schedules. 2) Instead of a text message warning, is there any way to incorporate an in-app alarm? Our notifications come in so frequently that we tend to dismiss our texts when they come in.

Amazing customer support.

Cons: There's a learning curve initially but the company has such patient and informed trainers, we were up to speed quickly.

Overall: We are a roller skating facility, after school club and party venue that has lots of part time employees, seasonal employees and most our folks work different positions within the company. Humanity allows us to schedule easily and approve time sheets so our accountants have an easy time keeping up with who works what position. We finally found a program that not only schedules but tallies the time sheets property and gives us a great overview of our payroll budget.

Comments: We are using Shiftplanning (Humanity) from 2015 and it is a great piece of software that handles staff attendance with its amazing shifts and vacations. It is very cheap like say per month for an employee.

We needed reports of individual staff, no of worked works, no of leaves left and more. Thus we opted for Shiftplanning when traditional methods like fingerprint scanners failed. Love this app and it is a must have for any business. It has a mobile version as well which is cool. :)

Comments: I have a small business that utilizes this software probably only to 5/18th's of its true capabilities, but I am happy with is as my needs are mostly simple ones. Pros: Relatively easy to use. Like the ability to set SMS or email notifications of schedule changes.

Cons: Clunky in places; can be slow; doesn't allow for basic Vacation editing before approval. You have to reject an entire request to modify a Vacation rather than edit. It's frustrating.

Overall: I like Shiftplanning/Humanity (what is it called today?) but there are still some crucial features missing; i.e., the ability to edit PTO requests before approving, better vacation summaries in individual profiles, and the ability to group staffers by team rather than alphabetically. I would like to see more customization. Scheduling software should not be a one-size-fits-all. I have asked for some of these features for years, only to be promised they'd "be put on the roadmap," yet I have never seen anything like this come to fruition. For what it does, it's fine - but could be so much better and easier to use.

Pros: It is online, location restrictable, works well across multiple disparate sites, allows tasks to be assigned to shifts, and allows techs to take ownership of their shift management.

Cons: OH MY GOSH PLEASE GIVE US SMALLER TIME INCREMENTS FOR SCHEDULING FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS GOOD IN THE WORLD!!! (Seriously fixing this one problem would solve about forty bajillion other problems I'm dealing with in Humanity at the moment)

Overall: I work with Humanity (mwahahah!) to schedule 50-60 students at our two helpdesk locations. Our schedule matches our academic classes so our shifts often start at 5 and 10 minutes after the hour. Currently you can only schedule in 15-minute increments which means approving timesheets is a NIGHTMARE!

Generally Humanity lets us do what we absolutely need to do - it is pretty intuitive for our techs, allows them to manage their own shift trades, we can reproduce repeating schedules, and assign tasks to shifts - all at a reasonable price point so it's a decent value. But the support for trying to suggest the smaller time increments has been a bit... scattered, including techs linking to an unrelated feature request (not my already-submitted year-old request) to show me how to submit a feature request.

Hopefully the idea will get traction (it's been suggested with some regularity since 2013) and will get fixed (our client support coordinator seems to be advocating for us now which is awesome). In the meantime hopefully these notes provide context for the ratings provided above!

Comments: Staff start their day by clocking in with Humanity and checking the dashboard for messages from fellow team members. I love that each staff member can choose their preferences as to how connected with work they want to be outside of their time at work. They could just check the dashboard when they get to work or they can stay on top of communications by receiving texts/emails when anyone posts a message to the group. I always feel bad group texting our staff because it interrupts their time off at home with family. Some people want that and some people don't. We love Humanity!

Pros: I like it when I check the weekly report and when I do the payroll, it gives me the accurate numbers of hours.

Overall: It's an awesome software. It helps a lot in forecasting, reporting weekly hours, and with payroll. i wish we could be more employees utilizing this software, for them it's not a user friendly. In fat we only have 10% user.

Cons: I still feel it should be pushing updates through the app, not relying on e-mail. Relying on notifications through e-mail is not the greatest and it still won't sens SMS because we are in Australia

Overall: IFAP has been using the system for several years, now. It has been excallent for our 40+ staff to edit their availability, check out the shifts they are rostered on for and make changes themselves. The smart phone app is very handy

Outside of these 2 things I am very happy with the performance of your software.

Cons: Not able to easily "track" employees (eg. sickness, FMLA absence, performance failures - unexcused absence from work, no shows, tardiness, etc.)

Overall: Our retail food business has saved much scheduling time and effort since adopting the Humanity platform in 2016. Not to mention the fact that our team has benefited greatly in communicating with one another through Humanity. Pros: The ease of use for staff members is great.

Cons: Not having the option for accrued time off. It is tedious to remove staff from future schedules when someone leaves the organization. There is not the ability to add staff to a set "shift pattern".

Overall: Humanity is good software for scheduling and providing a central location for staff to view their schedule and submit leave requests. Since we joined, a few new features have helped us out such as the partial time off requests, etc. I have a few issues with the software, such as when a staff member leaves, it is a very manual process to remove them from future shifts. I have yet to find a good way of doing this and end up going through the next 6 months manually. As for vacation, our staff accrue time off, and this feature is not supported, therefore our time off requests are very manual too. I see how this is good for companies who are constantly changing staff and shifts, however for us, we use a lot of workarounds as our schedule is pretty set. It would be good to be able to add shift patterns to staff availability.

Pros: Robust features closely match my needs for a comprehensive, one-stop service.

Cons: Work units report doesn't allow the shift title, notes, or remote site. I have to manually merge WU and custom reports (shifts scheduled) for each employee, which is very time-consumming.

If I can add a second complaint, I really need to be able to avoid having the system label my contractors as employees.

Overall: We have been using Humanity to run the work assignments for a video production business for two years. In that time the service uptime has been flawless. I have never had a time where the service did not perform or was down.

Phone support is the best that I have every encountered. Not only are calls answered quickly but the techs have deep knowledge and have been able to resolve issues in a matter of minutes, allowing me to stay on scheduling tasks.

*** We don't have many employees but use a lot of contractors, who don't get paid by the hour or salary. Humanity accommodates this through it's sophisticated "Work Units" feature. We assign work unit value for each job or task, allowing robust accounting for this type of relationship.

My contractors like the interface and importantly, say that it makes it's notification system helpful as well. As a result, lates and failure to reports are now almost non-existent.

4) The Humanity phone app does more harm than good as it is designed now. Doesn't work. makes you waste valuable time, frustrating, buttons don't work, etc.

Overall: When my staff or I am tired, we confuse this week with next week because the yellow color marking today's date is too weak a yellow color. Today's date needs to be a stronger yellow color so we notice it. I took a master's course in human factors in design from a current NTSB investigator. The course stressed that schedules, etc must take human factors into consideration.

However, otherwise, Shiftplanning is a great tool.

Just please stop your employees with egos from constantly changing Shiftplanning to look more "elegant." That is stupid management at the top. Confusing icons without visible descriptions have been added as well compared to the original version.

Recommendations to other buyers: Stop messing with Humanities' looks and go back to the original format from three years ago. When the employees or I am tired, Humanity becomes a nightmare to navigate from an admin point of view with unmarked icons, icons spread out all over the screen, Icons are just an almost invisible arrow, etc. You're messing with formally a good product and breaking it. STOP!!!!

Pros: Ease of use. FANTASTIC customer support! All of our staff from Executive Director to seasonal staff love it.

Cons: payroll. I need to be able to export payroll that is accurate down to the penny. This system still rounds due to the hours worked being calculated past the first 2 decimals.

Overall: Love this scheduling and communication system. It is easy to use, works really great for our museum. Our staff are mostly college students so having a cloud based system that allows them to swap shifts due to last minute events, exams or study groups, without having to put in requests to management is a benefit that they really like. I recommend it to all nonprofits that are looking for a quick way to schedule staff and an easy way to track and produce reports on the hours/shifts/staffing for all the different types of events and programs your group may run.

Overall: Humanity has saved me so much time. I don't know what I would do without it. The Amion program is being pushed by my company's upper administration because it is cheaper. So, I hope I'm not forced to leave you guys because of money. I am trying to show them how easy your application is to use. I am hoping once they see that, others in the company will want to use Humanity for scheduling their providers and drop Amion. However, that's iffy. Do you guys have a corporate discount that would be a flat fee instead of a fee based on number of employees? Novant Health is the 31st largest healthcare system in America. If I could get them to use Humanity instead of Amion for scheduling all of the healthcare providers who do shift work, it would be a sizable amount.

Comments: We had to retrofit this software to make it operable for our model. There are a few issues that cause it to be a little less user friendly when loading the applicable data on the front end but once you can figure out how to set it up initially, and then remember how you did it.....it works perfectly! We consistently work through our challenges, because we do not have many options for our unique business model needs. The customer service we have received to date, is excellent! Pros: It is easy to read when it is printed out. It is nice that we can get our schedules online also.

Cons: There are a few reports I'd like to be able to print out but they aren't available.

Pros: Ease of use and functionality. The staff is pretty responsive and there are a good amount of online resources. The app works flawlessly and the desktop version is very intuitive and user friendly.

Complete control for updating user preferences and passwords is a great feature!

Cons: There is still room for improvement. For example, employee time cards are difficult to use - it would be great if there were a multi step process where employees and supervisors can approve timesheets.

Similarly, the vacation time tracking is a nightmare.

Overall: Overall Humanity offers the best "bang for your buck". I've researched all the competition and they far exceed others in the market. There is still room for improved and enhanced functionality, I have hope they will dominate in the next few years.

Recommendations to other buyers: It would be great if there were more frequent tutorials or webinars to learn more about all of the functionality available.

Comments: This program is very easy to use. Over all I like this product best.

It does have some limitation. Leave request can only be placed xx days before. When scheduling 28 days 2wks in advance staff find it difficult to know when they can and can't place request. Therefore if this would be a date range would be great. An enhanced level of scheduling would be great. Staff that manage the day to day staffing do not need to see what is happening 6 weeks in the future.

Overall: We have been using Humanity and Shiftplaning for the last 3 years and love it. It has been easy to use, customizable to our complicated company needs and most importantly helpful to our staff. The ability for staff to update there availability on the fly and check there schedule via mobile has been huge. Its intuitive from the moment you start using it. Overall its been a wonderful program that we use everyday.

Cons: everything. Availability system is useless as it isn't based on particular period of time - check out When2Work or RecStaff's availability system - so much better. Trading system is useless - people can't view or pick up shifts if they have stated they are un-available (linked to how awful the availability system is). People have so many problem trading shifts that we as managers basically have to switch all shift trades ourselves and since we have so many this is a waste of time that a scheduling system is supposed to fix. The print and report options are also awful and poorly formatted.

Overall: 1. Horrible Customer Service, impossible to get anyone to train you or your staff on how the system works, and you NEVER respond to calls, took 3 months to get someone on the phone despite setting up times they were supposed to call us.
2. Horrible system with regards to availability and trading - provided all this feedback and it was put in a que of things to be done sometime in the next 10 years maybe?
3. Humanity was NOT an improvement, no changes other than visually how it looks
3.You are wasting your time on fixing stupid things like the 'colour' of shifts instead of actually taking your customers feedback and fixing these that are actually wrong with the system - once I actually talked to someone on the phone I proved him wrong about how your system works (he didn't even understand how trades worked) and I was able to convince him that your program is awful... still my list of feedback is on a long list of 'potential improvements'
4. So many better programs out there - maybe check out your competition for some good examples

Overall: We were looking for a software that would handle scheduling, shift trades and hold our staff accountable for showing up on time to each shift and more. This software has exceeded our expectations and we fully enjoy using it. The staff is able to upload their photos so other staff can put a face to a name, set their own availabilities, release shifts, see who is clocked in, add their personalized notifications and run reports for timecard and schedules. It is very user-friendly and easy to learn. This software has solved a lot of the problems we used to experience in the past. If ever there is an issue a staff member is readily available to answer our questions. We often get personalized phone calls or emails and chats just to see how the software is doing. They are always improving the software and updating to make even more powerful and user-friendly. It did not take long for us and our staff to start learning how to use it.

Overall: ShiftPlanning has been great for us as a company. We moved from spreadsheets to ShiftPlanning and it helped us manage our schedules better. It gave us a better view of our operations as a whole and helped see where we needed to make adjustments quicker. The self-service for employees is great as this gets them to be a part of the work of scheduling by submitting their availability and day off requests. It definitely keeps us more organized. It is very efficient to use and gives managers like myself more time to spend on other big impact projects!

Pros: It's invaluable in time-keeping and creating shifts. The report function is fantastic for timekeeping and payroll. There are work-arounds to get to where you need to be, with the help of Tech Support.
The mobile app for the staff is easy to use.

Cons: The desktop version is not user-friendly at first. Once you figure out the concept and how it works, and with time, you get to know the ins/outs. While I am tech savvy, I was confused about where to start with the set-up, which settings to use, and how to set up those settings for our company. The set-up was a disappointment to me in that you need a lot of time to understand how to do the different settings. I had to keep bugging Tech Support to help me with it.
The tutorials are great, but the User Manual needs a lot of work.

Overall: While ShiftPlanning is a great product, with most of the features I need, it was a bit confusing as to which settings to use and how to set them up. I am tech-savvy and it took about a month to understand the steps to get to a certain result. Tech Support was invaluable with their quick response and help. I use it 100% now, and wonder now how we got along without it. Such a timesaver!

Recommendations to other buyers: The User Manual needs to be better organized, especially with a "Day 1, set up the following settings"....and under that heading, do a visual of each setting and how to set it up for different scenarios. Then a "next step" after that, and so on, until everything is set up. I found I was jumping from one thing to the next, in no particular order, and having to back track because inevitably, a certain setting had not been set up first. Other than the inital setup and User Manual, once you are set up and using it, it's a fantastic software and does what you want it to do!

Pros: Time Clock - for payroll processing this is a life-saver (going from paper punch clock & card swiping)
Scheduler / Calendar.
Lots of training material & how-to-do's.

Cons: mmmmm...nothing

Overall: Mt Baker Camp has been using this software (Shiftplanning) since the end of 2013.
We use for managing all levels of staffing.
We track hours worked, HUGE advantage in allowing employees & volunteers to see when they are scheduled multiple weeks ahead of time.
At the end of the year it's easy to run reports to show how many total hours where contributed.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take the 30 Day Trial run...you wont' be disappointed.
