Pros: The software meets our needs; interfaces are intuitive, easy to use. People who work at Genius are competent and are able to understand our needs.

Cons: Documentation and user guide are not always up-to-date; I knew that a new customer service department was now in place. This surely will help get answers quickly to questions of use.

Overall: We are manufacturing charging station for electrical vehicle; Our BOM are complex because they are including many parts. Genius MRP help us to plan and organize our production floor and controlling our inventory. It help us for traceability of products and component that have been use in the manufacture it. We're using Genius MRP for 2 years when we decided to integrate the financial suite. Since all our data are grouped in a single system, it is easier to find information; to possibility of drilling down greatly improves financial analysis.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is a pretty good software for a SME; because it's easy to use, a short introduction is enough to be functional; it is always possible to test and learn by ourselves. Since the financial module is available, we switch our accounting system for it. The greatest benefit is the ability to have all our data grouped within a single system.

Pros: - Flexible
- User-Friendly
- Fully integrate (sales, purchase, production, accounting)

Cons: At the beginning of the project, we knew the limitations and the possibilities of the software.

Overall: We have meet our goals in term of money, delays and efficiency. The technical support is competent and are fast on after sale service.

Recommendations to other buyers: - If the mapping of your process is done you will be able to see if this software is the right one for your organization.

You have to pay for everything all thetime; Very poor customer service

Pros: It is customizable; Quite powerful with enough work. They basically give you a software that is almost useless and then you tell them how you want reports to look, etc and then they program it for you. Since reports and even macros (automatically attaching drawings to items/WO/POs, etc) can be custom programmed it gives you great flexibility and power.

Cons: Hard to tell what I like the least; And I don't like saying bad things about any company but for the sake of others I'd like to share our experience and hopefully save others the headaches and money we've lost. Everything runs on modules and unlike almost every other program I've ever tried, each window takes from 5-8 seconds to open. Everything seems very slow! The vendor sucks money every step of the way. We average about double the amount on maintenance and update fees then we already pay for a yearly subscription so we can get the "free updates". It is ridiculous. You pay them (annual subscription) so you are allowed to get updates for "free" but you have to pay them for installing those updates. For real, why not make a program so the customer can help themselves? Because they want the money; their business survives on training and hourly wage working for/with the customer. (I'm not saying it's wrong - but that's the only way they make money!)

Recommendations to other buyers: The software itself isn't very expensive for a full fledged ERP system. However, like I alluded to earlier, they make their money on selling a training/support service. I am quite technically inclined; show me the basics once and I'll figure out the rest. I have often been very frustrated when I had to spend an hour or even 2 hours sometimes to get a simple question answered that could literally have been done in less then 5 minutes. This happened over and over. Eventually I realized what is going on. They make their money on time spent training - so they'll train so slow and go to EXTREME length to explain something to get more time in. The GOOD thing is that the training (usually) got recorded and then I'd watch it at 8x or 16x speed so that I can get somewhere eventually! I have looked and searched high and low for instruction manuals and training documentation to go on my own but couldn't find any - I guess in order to depend on their services. This business model is not wrong; But it is something we didn't fully realize until after we started working with them. So for others, I'd just want them to be aware of it. They are french to the core (They are based out of Quebec); even if you set your software to English there is still quite a bit of french scattered throughout - and the English isn't perfect. They can do almost any kind of reports/macros; but you have to pay for all of them. You even have to pay them to do a quote for you, which in the end doesn't mean anything and they wanted to charge us more than the quote. They finally dropped it after clear email proof and documentation but then they tried to charge us for something "extra" that was clearly in the quote already. We had the proof so they let us go but not without serious talks. In other news - the reason we went with this software was that it claimed to be integrated with SolidWorks CAD software and with Simply Accounting (Sage 50). We soon found out that the SW to Genius tool was 100% useless for doing revisions/changes. I mean a huge flop of a software, which I was able to explain to them that it would never work the way it was designed and they couldn't fix it. We dropped that module cause it was exactly useless. (I do believe that upon our feedback and recommendation they might be releasing something that possibly works but haven't tried the newer version yet) Last thing I would suggest others to consider before buying - if you want Simply Integration, remember this: Genius is designed so that every time Simply does an update (Even their regular tax code updates for payroll) Genius won't connect with Simply until Genius gets an update; that is generally at the very least, 2-4 weeks after Simply update. Of course, they have to install the update at an hourly wage! If you use Simply then you know how often they update in order to maintain the current government tax code.

Pros: The stability of the system is stunning. We love the way the database is configured and what it can reach. The level of security seem very good although a little complicated to configure. Genius have been a great partner to us and we like to work with them. Dynamic team and customer oriented development.

Cons: Difficulty to get programmers's availiability to improve the functionality of the system (reporting and configuration). The service support seem a little impersonnal.

Recommendations to other buyers: Need to have worked at lest 3-5 years with the system to fully understand it's capability.

Pros: Information is never duplicated.
Users can move from a module to another at ease.
Modules are easy to use.
The links between different departments are fast and accurate.
There is one database that links everyone together.
Productivity is at a new high!!!

Cons: Not all sises of PDF files are easily attached to Genius files.

Overall: good overall
