It has greatly improved our job costing accuracy, inventory control, and project timelines across departments. Our experience has been very positive. It connects our engineering, purchasing, and production teams smoothly, saving significant time on daily operational tasks. Pros The manufacturing and production planning features are rock-solid. It gives full visibility into materials and labour costs, which really helps keep custom manufacturing projects on budget. It handles job costing, inventory tracking, and shop floor scheduling seamlessly in one place. The CAD integration makes generating Bills of Materials (BOM) fast and error free. Cons Some custom reporting tools require a bit of a learning curve to configure properly without reaching out to technical support. We have grown tremendously and thus added users and modules accordingly. As we evolved and upgraded, we had Genius beside us to step though the process. Pros We truly appreciate having all modules activated that integrate all of our business functions. It is beneficial to have a flow of information and data, in a consolidated platform, that can be linked a referenced easily. Cons We still have payroll functioning outside Genius. And some modules/reports still require customization to meet our minimum requirements. Chief Operating Officer Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Functional ERP" June 17, 2026 3.0 Its implemented and functional, and as ERPs go it provides much more power to us for managing the data, reports, dashboards and external interactions. The sales team technical member is the most knowledgeable about the product and how to use/manipulate it you will get to experience. Once you purchase, you get a new team and don't expect them to have reviewed all the information covered before the purchase or care to meet commitments or promises made. Whether Genius or our internal team committed to making the implementation successful, we were able to use the system fairly quickly by migrating out of our previous MRP. If we didn't have the Import/Export tool Genius provides, I doubt this would have been nearly as effective, and this tool is likely one of Genius's strongest attributes. Genius offers multiple methods for scheduling but over promises the ETO applicability and their most complex scheduling option is not fully implemented or usable without external tools. CAD2BOM did not deliver on functionality and if the Import/Export wasn't available, we would have nearly left us underutilizing the majority of the system's functionality do the required data input. Implementation and support are severely impacted when working within a high cybersecurity environment such as GCCH, CMMC L2, etc. We had multiple add-on projects for automations or custom reports that were never finished but purchased with some never becoming functional. Genius does provide lots of resources and tools to modify, use and customize the system without paid customizations or modules. The training academy is in-depth and helpful. The reports building tool is robust and fairly user friendly with some practice allowing for unique dashboards and reports that can quickly be modified. The divide between their web version and desktop application leads to split user base and some tools exist exclusively in only one of the two or a mix. Some features exist in the web version that are great, yet don't exist in the desktop version, and vice versa. Pros The import and export functionality for mass data modification. The Engineering Lifecycle functionality for building data before pushing to Production. The online training modules and glossary. Genius Analytics Designer, allows anyone to build reports and dashboards without deep SQL knowledge, and it is fairly user friendly and robust. Cons Does not deliver on scheduling for engineering to order even when utilizing their most complex offering advertised to do so. CAD2BOM was/is nearly unusable for any meaningful amount of data and was highly unstable. Shop Floor workflow controls are not customizable to ensure the end users inputting data such as labor, material, task completion is easy to use and limit visible data. NCR and Quality modules are severely limited and not robust, feel like an add on as secondary thought. Working with higher cybersecurity controls and restrictions, Genius support struggles greatly when they don't have full access to your system, server, etc. Overall, this is an ERP built around part manufacturing and defined products with some reskinning and additions for custom engineering and manufacturing, it will not magically streamline or bring together the complexities found in custom manufacturing in high mix low volume production. Cons We bought the cloud version which is great because we can call or email Genius and they are always available to help with any problems, but we probably would have bought the web version now that we have used it only because we are using tablets now on the production floor and the software isn't supported with the version that we used. But in addition to those barriers the interface of Genius really does not help. It is also very much a closed book with the only route to tailoring via expensive support requests. The tool should be brought up to date with a modern and configurable front end - it is not even possible to create custom fields for your organization or possible to show/hide fields that you do not require. Genius is way faster than Epicor and is easier to learn and operate. I highly recommend Genius ERP. Pros This is a very effective ERP. The software is easy to learn and easy to operate. It can by automated to a certain degree with it's GTA (Genius Task Automation) system. Every major updates comes with many new features, so it get better and better with every updates. Cons Customization is very limited with Genius. You cannot change or alter the behavior or the look of the software. You may lose some needed functionality when the software is updated. So far, we have not been using their financial module; which may put a damper on the cost of inventory. However, we have seen drastic changes and are optimistic about POSS' ERP system and its features going forward because of the implementation of Genius. Pros Genius ERP system is a user-friendly and customizable ERP system. We had many customizations that had to be done to fit our company, and Genius was able to fulfill and exceed expectations. The modules are easy to follow and it was a breeze to implement it within our team. Cons There are some technical issues which pop up that tend to take some time to fix. August 18, 2021 5.0 Pros This is the most user-friendly ERP I have ever worked with. It reduced my use of spreadsheets for planning, it automates reports and it is very flexible for changes. I have worked with big ERPs before like SAP, and this is by far much more flexible and easier to use. Cons Support should be more personal. Maybe a chat function or direct phone number would be best. All they have is communication by email.
