My overall experience with Simpro was extremely disappointing. It caused a great deal of stress and frustration, and we found the system clunky, unintuitive, and inefficient to use. The customer support was poor, and getting meaningful assistance when we needed it was difficult. The one thing they seemed to do well was send invoices and marketing emails. Beyond that, our experience fell well short of what we expected. When we asked to end our contract early because the system wasn't meeting our needs, we were simply told that we had to pay out the remainder of the contract. We felt our concerns were dismissed rather than addressed, which made an already frustrating experience even more disappointing. Based on our experience, I believe there are far better alternatives available. My advice would be to do thorough research before committing to Simpro, as once you're locked into a contract, it can be very difficult to leave. The one thing they seemed to do well was send invoices and marketing emails. Beyond that, our experience fell well short of what we expected. We also found ourselves locked into a contract for a system that didn't meet the expectations set during the sales process, which only added to the frustration. Based on our experience, I believe there are far better alternatives available. My advice would be to do thorough research before committing to Simpro, as once you're locked into a contract, it can be very difficult to leave.

Pros

There was honestly nothing I liked about Simpro. The best part of the entire experience was when our binding contract finally ended and we were able to leave. That was the only positive outcome. Based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend Simpro to others.

Cons

What I liked least about Simpro was the complete lack of support and communication. Whenever we needed help, it was difficult to get clear answers or meaningful assistance. The training materials and videos were poor, and the trainers didn't appear to have the practical knowledge needed to answer real-world questions. We found the system clunky, difficult to use, and not what we were led to expect. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Simpro to anyone looking for a reliable business management system.

We made the switch because we were looking for a system that offered better business management, improved tracking, and more efficient workflows. We needed software that would help us run our business more effectively and provide greater visibility across our operations.

Overall, my experience with the software has been highly positive despite a steep learning curve. It has completely streamlined how we manage our jobs, inventory, and field staff. The software is incredibly robust and capable, which makes it ideal for businesses that need to track comprehensive job costing. While it does feel overly complex and click heavy at times, the massive boost to our back office organization makes it well worth implementing.

Pros

It is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to keeping our quoting, job management, and invoicing tied together in one single source of truth. The depth of the project management features and job costing tools makes it incredibly easy to track real time profits and expenses on larger projects. Having our asset management and inventory updates sync automatically with billing saves the office team tons of admin hours every single week.

Cons

The system layout can feel quite clunky and rigid when you are first learning how to navigate it. It often takes far too many clicks just to get through a simple daily task like revising an invoice or editing purchase orders. The mobile app can also be a bit delicate after updates, occasionally lagging or requiring a full reinstall to get field notes to sync properly up to the main office dashboard.

Overall, my experience with Simpro has been very positive. It’s a powerful all-in-one platform that really helps streamline job management, from quoting through to completion and invoicing. Once you get used to how everything is structured, it becomes a central hub for running day-to-day operations efficiently. The scheduling, job tracking, and integration between different parts of the system stand out the most, saving time and improving visibility across projects. While there are a few areas that take some getting used to, the benefits definitely outweigh the drawbacks. Overall, it’s a reliable system that adds real value to managing jobs, teams, and business performance.

Pros

The user interface is very intuitive, making it easy to onboard new team members without extensive training. Job scheduling and dispatching are extremely efficient and it’s simple to assign work, track progress, and update jobs in real time. The integration between quoting, invoicing, and job management is seamless, which saves a lot of time and reduces admin errors. Reporting features are strong, giving clear insights into job costs, profitability, and overall business performance. The mobile app is a big plus for field engineers — they can update jobs, upload photos, and capture signatures on-site. Inventory management is well organised and helps keep track of stock levels accurately. Customer support is responsive and helpful when issues do come up. The system is very scalable, so it works just as well for growing businesses as it does for larger teams.

Cons

The PO (purchase order) system and work orders can be quite delicate. they need to be handled in very specific ways, otherwise it’s easy to throw off a job’s financial figures. Some workflows require multiple steps, which can slow things down for straightforward tasks. Occasional lag and the odd system crash can be frustrating, particularly when working on larger jobs or detailed quotes.

AVOID at all costs!! This company is only after your money. The sales person had an amazing pitch and sold me on convenience and process driven application which was meant to reduce the admin staff I require, instead, I had to employ an additional staff member to work Simpro properly. First - they charged a discounted rate of approx $6000NZD for set up (our replacement software Tradify had NIL set up cost). The set up was incomplete and incompatible, it was meant to reconcile with Xero however it completely missed supplier invoices, or at best sent them across incorrectly. Invoicing was a nightmare, and could take several hours to produce a single invoice. Because they couldn't get their supplier invoice system to work properly, we were told that the only solution was for the supplier to change their invoices to suit Simpro! This defies belief, the supplier is an international company LOL. When the new staff member was employed, they wanted $750NZD for 3hours of training!! Then, for every "user" it costs $200NZD per month, and if that "user" needs the mobile app, another $50NZD for month. Upon contacting them to complain, they had no complaints policy or procedure, no escalation process and when I pushed, their only response was to talk to their lawyers! I now have to finish off my contract with them as they catch you on a minimum 12 month term even though they have failed to meet their obligations.

Pros

Their sales pitch. They came to me to do the set up. They are great marketers of their own branding...

Cons

Almost every aspect. The software is really only suitable for large, multisite businesses who have the budget to spend on the software and the staff to manage it.

Reasons for choosing Simpro

Believed the sales pitch, if were to work as it should I would have needed to spent less time on admin

Really impressed - personally I can't see any other way of working for the foreseeable. I would recommend it to any business in a similar trade, as long as they are able to put the work in for implementation & ongoing dev.

Pros

Simpro has proven itself to be a reliable CRM system for our business. It is flexible and customisable to suit our ever-changing business workflows and now we've been going for a while we find it very easy to use.

Cons

Support can be lacking especially when it comes to the mobile application. The usual response it just to re-install the app.

After 2 years we are ready to quit! Very outdated, the user interface is awkward and not intuitive, it reminds us of Windows 95! We regularly loose work, I had to enter my notes THREE times recently! Support was friendly but decided that it was probably our fault and won't do anything. Infuriating!!

Pros

Lots of options, capable of lots from quoting to invoicing, with lots of integrations with other software

Cons

Loses work regularly, not intuitive, expensive. Any issues are your fault not theirs so problems during get fixed

Our experience was both frustrating and time consuming. We were sold a software program that was both not a good fit for our industry and overly complicated. We tried and tried to find solutions, but nothing worked. We requested our money back since they made the mistake in overselling it and also not really paying attention to our company needs, but no one response. They took $2300 from us and delivered nothing. The company has the worst customer service and support.

Pros

I thought the training was okay. \[sensitive content hidden\] our training knew how to explain and answer questions the best he could.

Cons

The representative that sold us the problem, missed very important aspects of our company. Aspects that later on showed up during the training, and that no one knew or cared to handle. The software was not a good fit for our industry.

Pros

That it was founded in Brisbane and was once local QLD company. Unfortunately the Pro was flexibility of users (adding or subtracting licences to suit the staff fluctuations of business) but they are removing this option with minimum users and lock-in contracts.

Cons

Being hit with a lock-in contract option of 3-years or 5-years at an ‘expected’ 8% per annum (CPI + 5%) locked in to a minimum user quantity. The alternative option is the threat of a ‘12% (subject to change)’ per annum increase. Extortionate approach. Bought out key competitor AroFlo and now playing this monopolistic card. SimPRO claims ‘scaling together’ in the proposal, if I increased charge out rates by 8% or 12% per annum for the next 5-years we wouldn’t have any customers left, we’ll be scaling alright, scaling backwards

Excellent for job costing, tracking expenses, integrating with accounting software, and efficient invoicing/payments.

Pros

powerful features for scheduling, inventory, and project management, though users note a steep learning curve, sometimes clunky UI, and challenges with complex custom reporting or specific regional setups.

Cons

issues importing data, with many feeling it adds extra steps and slows workflows despite its powerful backend.
