Pros: No longer in flash, it is an elegant design that is easy to read. The customer support is good. They work with you and often bugs are fixed. Projects are clearly sorted by deadline.

Cons: It's great for simple deadlines, but It doesn't have any tools to sort out congested schedules. e.g. what software can stop someone from being booked 84 hours in a single work day.

It's very manual. updating projects can be time consuming and human error with the interface has lead to scheduling errors. It's not very compatible with other common office programs (e.g. can't get it to sync for meetings in outlook and we don't want to use jig for all our meetings). This means we only use a small portion of the software relating to project schedules and budget.

Hard to establish priorities.

Some information is hard to find with their interface. (e.g. several clicks to find the task number required to enter your time if you are entering a task that you weren't assigned)

Overall: an overview of projects and their due dates organized by tasks.

Pros: When setup properly on the front end it can do a great job exporting status reports for our team, which is a task that would mean someone manually updating a spreadsheet if we didn't have workamajig.

Cons: It's project management input functions (diaries) are too linear. Wkmjg works great for simple jobs like print ads and radio scripts but when it comes to projects with a lot of parrallel tasks, moving at the same time, it doesn't compare to products like Basecamp. For instance, I could never use wkmjg to build a website (or any complex digital pieces) where I need to set deadlines for multiple disciplines and keep their resources and conversation separate from one another. For example, my designer shouldn't have to wade through a ton of diary posts between the QA team to find my last post to him. I also think the accounting side of wkmjg is something that was designed a long time ago and has just been gradually tacked on and added to and it's in need of a audit and complete redesign to make it more user firendly for both agency accountants and the project managers reviewing billing worksheets on the other end.

Pros: I love Workamajig's User Interface. After using various Project Management softwares in my day, Workamajig Platinum User Interface is easy to navigate and has an extremely successful adaptation for users. I also love the ability to customize workflows, add in additional deliverables based on the approval cycle, and communicate with other team members within the system.

Cons: While building out the workflows within Workamajig we had quite a few 'workamarounds' that we had to come up with in order for the system to meet our needs. An example is: I wanted an email to fire when a task was assigned, which was possible on all tasks, but the first one. One of our workamarounds for that was to have the first task be assigned to the PM and was titled "Close this Task" so that the next task would fire an email to the appropriate team member. That's just an example of some of the workamarounds we had to come up with. The Deliverables were also very difficult for us to monitor the status of.

Overall: Workamajig is a fantastic solution for a Marketing Project Management tool. It allows the Project Manager and subsequent teams to manage projects with ease while also interacting with billing, time tracking, and overall profitability analysis.

Pros: The new platinum version is a better UX than the old Flash app. After you know how to use it, it's minimally functional for what it does.

Cons: The core app is built in Flash, and doesn't work well at all. Also, the app doesn't export any data easily in any way whatsoever, and it's nearly impossible to get a hold of your data in a useable way.

Overall: I already know how to use it, and it's minimally ok for time and expense tracking.

Pros: Budget tracking. Time management. That it can serve as a single source for the entire length of a project, making it easy to track progress over time and locating assets from as far back as the beginning.

Cons: The clunky interface. The difficulty of navigation. That anyone can look at any diary post, regardless of whether they are on the job or not. That you can't download all attachments at once. That it still runs in Flash despite Flash being the industry standard from 10 years ago.

Overall: I try to use it as little as possible. From an interface that makes me pray that future generations never see it, for fear of embarrassment, to a completely average list of features, most of which are completely useless to me, I find workamajig is best and perhaps only suited as a time entry and billing platform. Strip it of all the bloated nonsense and I think you have a much better product.

Pros: Seems fairly flexible and doesn't put up a lot of barriers to getting my daily work done. It's fairly intuitive and simple on common actions unlike some systems (Oracle... yuck).

Cons: Sometimes not responsive to action/inquiry requests. Will have to request multiple times to get the action/request/inquiry handled. I don't know if that is because of it being an internet-based platform or not.

Overall: Most of the functions in Workamajig are fairly intuitive. Some of the updates improve one thing and reduce the functionality of another. This is my first experience with an internet-based platform system. Sometimes I have to repeat actions several times to get it to work. Is this due to an internet platform? Overall Workamajig is a good product.
Customer Service can be very helpful sometimes, and very dismissive at other times.

Workamajig works and is easy to learn. I used it at my agency for about 3 years.

Pros: I liked its de-cluttered interface. I also liked the ability to customize tiles. This is also somewhat odd, but I really really liked the logo. I smiled every time I saw it.

Cons: It was slow to load, attaching files doesn't work all of the time, and sometimes it would be glitchy. For example, every time I logged in, there'd be about a 10-second frozen pause on one of the windows.

Overall: I really didn't get many benefits from the software that were particularly special to me.

Pros: I use Workamajig for general project management, billing clients, tracking projects and time tracking on individual projects. The system works great for time tracking and the billing. And the reports are very extensive. I feel it offers everything you could need to manage a business both financially and on the management side.

Cons: The one downside to the software is that it has too data. Reports can somewhat be cumbersome to organize, as you need an administrator to add certain fields to reports. That seems to be a concern with our business, there¿s so much information that it collects that sometimes there seems to be too much and it becomes overwhelming.

Pros: Timesheet capabilities. I don't use it for much else at this point, I use Outlook Tasks to keep track of what you call "my activities".

Cons: No integration with Outlook or Google Calendar. The search function doesn't seem fully developed, doens't always populate the things we are looking for. Requires a lot of refreshing. No mobile app. There is not a great personal task option, not everything I need to complete needs to be on an activity.

Overall: This is the third agency I've used Jig at. Every place has it set up different but the pain points I mentioned above are consistent at each place. I haven't seen the platform evolve much over time, I can't believe there isn't a calendar integration yet or a mobile app.

I mainly use this software for timesheets and Purchase Orders as a buyer for my agency.

Pros: I have worked with this software for two years now and find the times sheet function very streamlined and helpful.

Cons: I wish the search function for PO's was more user friendly. As a buyer I enter many PO's and it isn't always easy to narrow the search function to pull up the correct one I am looking for.

Pros: The recent upgrade to Workamajig Platinum has shown a lot of improvements. The features are more user friendly. We use it to manage our projects with the design/creative team. So this is a way for the design team to track their workload and the marketing consultants can submit their projects and get schedules set-up. Also nice to track exactly when and what messages have been communicated about a project, it's nice to have a reference point in case a deadline gets missed. Our admin on the tool was very happy with the customer service and they even made some specific improvements based on our requests.

Cons: User interface still feels a little clunky, it's not as streamlined and intuitive as it could be. Not a lot of automation, you have to take a lot of time to set every project up correctly and move it through the process. The app its self is also very slow.

Overall: Tracked communication and set schedules when working with design team. Easy to see where your projects are at in the process.

Pros: I like the ease of being able to track the amount of time being spent on a project. It helps be able to monitor time management between all employees working on a project.

Cons: The search capabilities seem to be very limited. Purchase orders seem to be a bit difficult to find if you don't know the specific data.

Pros: WMJ provides a solid platform for each sector of the creative business. It's relatively easy to track time, create budgets & schedules, and monitor projects overall. The interface is clean and appealing, especially in the Platinum update.

Cons: The flash version is archaic and extremely buggy. The updated version can be glitchy and doesn't automatically update to the current day. When entering tasks or time, it often has glitches and errors, or adds to the wrong fields.

Overall: Overall, the product is an extremely effective tool for workflow and data logging, if only some of the bugs could get ironed out.

Pros: Very intuitive UI. Has a lot of features beyond budget tracking and project management. I feel like I am just scraping the surface of all the capabilities.

Cons: Still not very mobile friendly. A little clunky on Chrome with some to the drop downs.

Overall: It's made it a lot easier for me to track my teams status as it relates to budgets. Trying to get people to a place where they are fully aware of the time they have invested and what they have left. Using platinum and a project management tool has been rewarding. We are starting to use it more to track content and progression of jobs. I hope that it replaces trello so we are more integrated between departments.

Pros: Timesheet organization, budgeting and reporting are all things I need to be aware of in live time to have my team do their jobs the best to their ability. Workamajig allows us to pull these reports in nearly real time so we can adjust projects, create efficiencies and course correct as needed.

Cons: Resource Management is key for our agency, and the system makes resource management a big job to keep up with. To keep resourcing updated, there is lot of maintenance required in the system. So much so, that we may default to google docs or another system entirely.

Pros: This software was easy to use, easy to adjust, and easy to teach people how to use it (provided you put in the time of course). It was customizable to our specific project workflow needs and would connect with accounting to account for billable hours.

Cons: There were a few features we would have liked to have for our project management processes that this software didn't have, although many companies would likely not need these features. One of them was being able to automatically assign teams to a specific project so we knew who would be working on those tasks; this step is manually with Workamajig.

Pros: This product is up and coming. It has a lot of great features but not everything but their developers are currently developing more and more each day. If you are a customer you can put in requests for how you want things to work and they submit them as tickets to their developers to consider.

The software has a lot of features already that you can use and are adding more each release (about once a month).

The customer service is great and the software is very very reasonably priced.

Cons: The current system requires manual work on our part in some cases to accomplish things that used to be automated in the system we used to use. The manual work is time consuming for us.

Since the developers are currently working on the product the system does have some bugs and we discover them occasionally and have to work around them until Workamajig can fix them.

Pros: I like that Workamajig has so many features. My team uses it for project management, proofing, estimating, and so many other things.

Cons: The expansive features can be a double-edged sword. As great as it is to have so many features, it's also a bit frustrating trying to navigate the platform. the onboarding process for this program is a massive undertaking.

Pros: The scheduling and the staff task calendar are invaluable to the agency. We work on various teams and various projects, and can see how much work each person has scheduled at any given time. Also love using for client estimates and POs.

Cons: At times it can be a little tricky to navigate around. We are migrating to the platinum and that seems to help. Not too much that we dont utilize or like with the product.

Overall: Keeps our agency on track with the multiple projects we have at any given time.

Pros: Project management software tool specific to the advertising agency structure and workflow. Integration of all the necessary parts from beginning (new client, new project) to end (billing).
Monthly updates. They listen to users' feedback and make updates in response.

Cons: Initial setup took a full year. It was a big process and should have been accomplished quicker. Availability of trainers and time allowed were limited. There is some limitation to customization but it seems to be improving.

Pros: The estimate and job oepning system

Cons: The workflow/project schedule tool

Overall: I've utilized many project management systems throughout my career and I really enjoy Workamajig. Although there is a bit of a learning curve, the internal training really helped. I find that it is now quite a bit easier to use than some of the other project management systems I have worked on in the past. The timesheet entry, job opening, meeting/calendar and budget/estimate tools are what I use the most as a Sr. Account Executive. I find the project/workflow scheduling a bit hard and clunky to use, so I tend to just make schedules on my own. The unpredictability of project timeline changes also makes workflow/schedule a daunting task.

With that said, I overall really enjoy using workamajig and feel its very functional and easy to use.

As an agency owner, it has really helped us. That said, I really feel like their technology needs an upgrade. The interface is built in Flash/Flex and it is very cumbersome and not mobile friendly. They have changes in the works, but that has been way too long in arriving. They also need a really good mobile app to help us manage and grow. I expect these upgrades to arrive. The people are really responsive and I would highly recommend the product.

Pros: Easy to learn

Overall: I enjoy using Workamajig. I like that it's an all in one system. I like that the traffic, project management, AR, AP, time tracking and so one are all in one system and all work together. I also like how easy things can be adjusted. I like to tell new users, don't worry about making a mistake, there isn't anything you can do that we can't fix. Other systems that I have used are not that user friendly.

Recommendations to other buyers: I think it would be great to have continuing education webinars/training sessions that users could take to learn things that maybe we don't know it does.

Pros: The software is very user friendly and if something is not working quite right for you, the support team is great to work with and they help you figure out a work around. Sometimes they even take your suggestions to make an upgrade so it will work the way you want it to.

Cons: It's flash based so it will not work on iPad, but they're introducing Platinum to fix this issue. The transition to Platinum will be a challenge, but well worth it in the end.

Pros: I love the new Platinum version; it's so intuitive and easy to use. I practically live in Workamajig - it's where I do all of my scoping, resource management, timesheets and insertion orders for various mediums.

Cons: I don't like their workflow option. It's confusing and compared to other softwares, it's old school and clunky.

Pros: In most cases it is very simple to figure out, so I would consider it very user friendly.

Cons: I cannot delete employees or contacts once they have left the company; that I can only inactivate them.

Overall: I am one of those individuals that know this software package can do more than I even know about, but get too involved in other projects to really understand and use everything it has to offer. It is fairly intuitive, but when I have problems a quick email to Marlene and she helps me resolve the problem very quickly.

Pros: I like that it's a full solution from sales, project management, and accounting.

Cons: It's not very intuitive. I've used the program for a lot of years and the one thing I hear all the time is how it's not easy to get around. I also like to see a way to upload an HR file within the employee and a better way to track vacation. I feel this is really missing in the program.

Overall: Workamajig is a solution for running our projects and our accounting needs.

Works for our purposes yet is very clunky and slow.

Pros: The software helps us to accomplish most of our work as an advertising agency. From scheduling, to billing, to resource forecasting.

Cons: Workamajig is very slow. It takes us minutes to load project schedules or our staff chart. There is no undo button. There is no easy way to copy tasks.

Pros: It's easy to learn and use. I've used other project management software in the past that was convoluted and extremely frustrating. With Workamajig, I was able to find jobs quickly and as well as easily use other helpful functions. I work in a different department now where I don'y use any project management software. My comments are based on 9 months of previous experience. When I had issues with the software, an on-site administrator helped me.

Cons: I haven't used the product in several months. I don't remember the issues that caused problems. Although there were issues, overall I was pleased with how it worked.

Overall: I was able to work with other team members to easily and effectively track approvals, and in general manage jobs, as they were being worked on.

Pros: I really liked the running timer. It was extremely useful when I was working on projects that needed to be billed by the hour. I haven't found another project management tool that has it. I also liked that you could change your background to whatever you wanted.

Overall: While it was very easy to use, it was also extremely basic so you had your limits when it came to sharing workloads across a team.

Pros: Helps me keep track of several projects at once. It's very helpful l to all of the different departments separate and numbered so we can properly bill our clients.

Cons: Sometimes it loads weird, lag when pulling different project numbers. My timesheet sometimes say unsubmitted when I have. So slightly annoying but not a big issue.

Pros: I like how it has different levels for Users, Teams, Customers and such. I also like the campaign functionality above jobs.

Cons: Assignments and waterfalling can be difficult. Also, work buckets get confusing and our traffic manager had a steep learning curve for this product. And Platinum has been out for years, what are they waiting for?

Overall: It does keep us organized, but agile functions are missing here.

Pros: I like the searchability of the software. If all of the bugs were fixed I think I would like it even more.

Cons: So many processes are still manual (ie WIP and AR).

Also, the original version has many hiccups and the system seems to lag often.

The platinum version is not user-friendly at all. The ability to have two windows up at once is key for my day to day funtionality.

Pros: I like the weekly view when doing timesheets.

Cons: I feel as if it's difficult to understand the depth of all of the features of Workamajig.

I also have issues looking up jobs, some times I need to refresh or log out and log back in.

Pros: The Flash version looked like Excel and the HTML 5 version was clean in appearance. They threw a great party at their user conference.

Cons: The constant click thru needed to reach a site, the lack of email contact, tech support only through email (unless willing to pay more) which caused a back and forth situation, building of forms was tedious (Flash-based), reports were difficult to construct, lack of storage space caused addtional unexpected expenses of approx. $300/mo.

Pros: It is easy to navigate. The project management piece is excellent if utilized to its full potential. The ability to customize your color scheme is also pretty nice.

Cons: Many basic accounting functions are not automatic, including WIP, AR, and Forecasting. Also, the budgeting screen within a project is not very clear. There is no HR piece, requiring us to have an additional software, which of course costs us additional money.

Pros: Workamajig has a customizable dashboard which makes it really easy to use. Great customer support and training available.

Pros: From my experience, everything is self-contained, meaning you aren't forced to use other programs in conjunction with Workamajig.

Cons: The interface could be more intuitive. There is definitely a bit of a learning curve when getting started or for things you don't need to do very often.

Overall: I've used Workamajig for about 4.5 years. It takes some getting used to, but once you've figured it out it's a very powerful tool. It's imperative that your team agree on how to use it. Pretty much anything you need relative to Workamajig's purpose can be done within the program. However, if some people use other programs (email, for example) instead of leaving notes and to-dos in Workamajig, you can run into inefficiencies.

Pros: - The features, functionality, reporting and customizations are seemingly endless.
- Fantastic tool for providing visibility into the more administrative aspects of a client's account, like invoices, retainers, budget spend, etc.

Cons: - Very cumbersome to use, especially for users tracking time on a daily basis.
- For advanced reporting, the learning curve is relatively high. Be prepared to spend some time figuring out how to get the data you need. However, once you understand how to use it, it will become an essential part of your business!

Comments: Workamajig is a pretty robust system which houses all of your Project Management and financial data in one place. It's a little like one of those old boom boxes which does a little bit of everything rather than one thing really well. It is tremendous value for your buck and can be customized to meet any needs you have.

Pros: The new HTML version is finally catching up to the current market leaders.

Cons: Slow development cycles. Still primarily in Flash

Recommendations to other buyers: If you have the need to integrate with a CRM, go elsewhere. The WMJ CRM is nothing to write home about.

Pros: This product offered so many options which was wonderful from a PM standpoint! We were able to customize the system to suit our needs.

Cons: Our team's challenge was that this too l was a bit robust (for non PMs) to get used to. People were resistant to begin with, but the complexity was a challenge for them. This is really a con of the product necessarily :)

Pros: I did like that you could keep everything in one place. All conversations could be tracked.

Cons: The navigation was a bit complicated. Maybe it was because we are a small community college and did not use all the features or because I am still pretty new with using it.

Pros: How easy it is to fill out my timesheets. The weekly structure and dropdown menus make it quick and easy.

Cons: Compatibility issues with certain browsers have occured on occasion. I have to use Safari on my machine to access workamajig. Aspects of the billing interface were a little counterintuitive, after some use the billing process has gotten easier.

Pros: I like how you are able to add in as many projects as needed and list as many job functions as needed.

Cons: It takes a while to get used to all the buttons and pages. The user interface is pretty confusing. They have icons for one page but I don't think they are very communicative of what they represent.

Pros: Logging time is easy, but a bit slower than it should be. I like being able to check where we stand against the budget in a quick manner.

Cons: Expense reporting is a nightmare. The system is just not nearly as intuitive as it can/should be. There are a number of improvements that need to be made.

Pros: Lots and lots of features and widgets. The product can do a lot of things, assuming you can figure it out.

Cons: Cumbersome interface, slow. The product suffers from an inability to focus, and tries to be all things to all people. The interface is really clunky and not intuitive. The onboarding process is long, drawn out, and expensive. Once you've gone through it, you feel stuck.

Pros: Workamajig had weekly trainings with a specialized account manager. They tried their best to help with learning the software.

Cons: Lots of details, inability to customize towards your agency. Time consuming training 1-2 time per week for weeks at a time.

Pros: CRM management, none of my clients are falling through the cracks - I can work for the day and not worry about missing the details of a client or appointment

Cons: If I spell something wrong, it's not recognized in the system allowing for duplication. I have to go into multiple screens to update contact info - if I have two contacts connected to one business and I'm only talking to one of those contacts, the notes for that contact do not show up under the other.

Pros: Workamajig, is able to give a lot of information about tracking time, and progress on projects. The software has a lot of tools that are very useful for project management.

Cons: The software is very manual in a lot of ways and leaves a lot of room for human error. The UI feels very dated, and if not managed properly feels cluttered.

Overall: Workamajig will get the job done, and is beneficial in managing and tracking projects for large teams.

Pros: It's an easy system for first time users or technologically challenged people. The flow is common sense and easy to figure out.

Cons: It does not sync well with Strata. I use Strata all the time, and it has so many glitches transferring orders if any revisions should change. I think the communication between Strata and Workamajig needs work.

Overall: It helps keep track of budgets and speak with accounting through technology.

Comments: We've been using Workamajig for over a year now, and with the recent release(s) of Platinum, it continues to get more and more user-friendly. If you don't have your company processes documented prior to signing up, it's probably a good idea to do that first. With the right information, you can inform Workamajig and enhance your production efficiency. It is VERY complex, but only to those who have to dig into the nuts and bolts of the software. Overall, we've been pleased with the software and will continue to use it.

Comments: My experience with this software has been great. It is a true work horse. I have used it several different times during my career to manage and run Creative Studios. This software has enabled my project management staff to successfully support up to 350-500 active projects. Keep in mind that the software is only as good as the information that you put in it. It needs to be kept up to date on a daily basis. Workamajig does it all¿ everything that I needed to run the business and make smart decisions¿ project management, financials, reporting, time tracking, etc . The set-up, customization and training took some time, but it was definitely worth it!

Pros: time tracking and spend associated with projects is easy to track, we use it to charge projects back to the owner and to locate portions of projects that are to time consuming.

Cons: the diary and comments are not a convenient or intuitive way to hand over information about the state of a project

Overall: being able to appropriately charge and track the time spent and the value of that time was a new and eye opening possibility, but the handing off of the ownership of thprojects from one team to another is not smooth or seamless.

Pros: I only used this software for a short space of time so there are probably a lot of positive features I failed to notice. But that being said, this is a great tool for tracking overall project progress as well as individual tasks and/or individual people's workloads. This was also a very adaptive program allowing you to set it to suit whatever your business needs are.

Cons: I thought the price for this product was a little high in comparison to some of the other products available. A little system automation wouldn't be a bad improvement for future versions, this would save both time and reduce potential mistakes.

Comments: Having worked with the Workamajig software for over ten years, I have to say the integration between projects, work flow and accounting is seamless. The report options are countless and the continuity between screens makes it very easy to train new users. The Workamajig staff has a dedication to making the product better and better which can be seen in their updates to the software each month. In addition, their support when issues or questions arise is beyond question, polite, quick and with a depth of understanding of the software similar to what you would expect your own employees to have when speaking to your clients

Comments: We switched from base camp to workamajig, and it wasn't easy. We love the advanced features for billing and plugins with other billing software, but the software itself isn't great. It's constantly glitching and the previous version looked (and acted) like something straight out of the 90s. I have high hopes for the new version though!

Comments: We actually tested Workamajig at a former company I worked for. We ultimately didn't move forward with it because we found there were a lot of components we wouldn't use and couldn't justify the costs for those we could use. It's a great tool for large agencies who are looking for an incredibly comprehensive project management software with time tracking and accounting capabilities but we weren't ready for it yet.

Comments: We used Workamajig for a while. It's not a great fit for a small agency, though I could see it being useful for a shop that needed something really feature-rich¿it is certainly comprehensive. However, that comes with a lack of the flexibility that you see in web-based tools like Brightpod or Trello. It is not easy to get data out of it that you might need, and it tended to break or just be clunky to use.
