Pros

When setup properly on the front end it can do a great job exporting status reports for our team, which is a task that would mean someone manually updating a spreadsheet if we didn't have workamajig.

Cons

It's project management input functions (diaries) are too linear. Wkmjg works great for simple jobs like print ads and radio scripts but when it comes to projects with a lot of parrallel tasks, moving at the same time, it doesn't compare to products like Basecamp. For instance, I could never use wkmjg to build a website (or any complex digital pieces) where I need to set deadlines for multiple disciplines and keep their resources and conversation separate from one another. For example, my designer shouldn't have to wade through a ton of diary posts between the QA team to find my last post to him. I also think the accounting side of wkmjg is something that was designed a long time ago and has just been gradually tacked on and added to and it's in need of a audit and complete redesign to make it more user firendly for both agency accountants and the project managers reviewing billing worksheets on the other end.

We have had some issues with sales tax setup that we continue to work with Workamajig to address.

Pros

It's a robust software that allows for both accounting, project management and collaboration. We like that we can access it from any device.

Cons

We have had some issues come up and when our team has contacted support, we have not gotten the answers we needed. This has become a source of frustration.

You can also easily close them all by simply clicking on the left most panel without having to close each slide out panel individually. Workamajig is overall a good, solid program to use for our marketing department needs. It's easy to create and resolve tasks, organize your schedule, and get overviews of projects and campaigns.

Pros

Workamajig has a customizable dashboard which makes it really easy to use. Great customer support and training available.

Cons

Workamajig is not very intuitive, so sometimes it's difficult to figure out what you're doing if you try navigating outside of your normal tasks.

### "Robust Tools for Everyday Use."

My overall experience has been good. It's the timekeeping system my company uses and I came into without too much direction on how to use it, etc. Probably the most difficult thing initially was that only a portion of employees were using the latest update (premium) and the rest of the staff were using a legacy version. In particular, what was once called "diary" is now called "conversations." We still to this day use "diary" as the name of it, where we find discussions and files about specific jobs. In the beginning for me, I thought I was missing something with the site or wasn't granted access yet. Obviously, I realized early on the problem and have been good ever since.

Pros

Workamajig is a great way to keep time and make notes accordingly. A variety of tools and ways to document and keep track of what you are doing every day, whatever the project.

Cons

Sometimes writing up a PO, all the information does not come through when saved or printed out.

Pros

I like that it's built by my industry for my industry. I love having estimating, time tracking and billing all in one system.

Cons

When my co-workers complain about WMJ not being intiutive, and the long slow gring from classic to platinum.

### "Workamajig Review"

Workamajig is a solution for running our projects and our accounting needs.

Pros

I like that it's a full solution from sales, project management, and accounting.

Cons

It's not very intuitive. I've used the program for a lot of years and the one thing I hear all the time is how it's not easy to get around. I also like to see a way to upload an HR file within the employee and a better way to track vacation. I feel this is really missing in the program.

Overall, my experience with Workamajig has been great. If there is something that I feel would make my life easier, they send it to the engineers who review, and add to the next update. If I have special reports that I need, but cannot figure out on my own, they create them for me. They have helped walk me step by step through the process from day one, and have made many updates and improvements to the software along the way that has been beneficial.

Pros

Workamajig is easy to set up, easy to use, and easy to train new employees. You can jump in using everything or ease in using different applications. The training staff is great at answering questions, and they are very helpful in getting set up, and walking you through various changes as your business changes and grows.

Cons

We chose to use our own server, instead of being on the Workamajig server. I would recommend that you be on the Workamajig server, as they make certain that updates are completed in a timely manner, and in the long run will make your life easier. This is not really something that I dislike about the software, but a recommendation that I would make to someone thinking about purchasing.

I liked that workamajig housed our advertising agencies accounting, time management, project management, etc!

Cons

Since workamajig does so much, it seems like it doesn't do anything super well. Still is impressive that a single software can handle so many different areas of the business. I wish that they had better training/consulting, as I wonder how much we were not "fully utilizing" the system.

Timekeeping, well done. Estimating, well done...however: Some of use a different program to do estimating, as well. We spend too much time editing the estimates in Adobe Acrobat after preparing the estimate in Jig, to improve communication to the client.

Pros

Excellent at time keeping, and good (but not good enough formatting) for estimating. See below under "overall experience."

Cons

The project management features are so complicated that we use a different platform for that.

I use Workamajig every day and I find it pretty easy, but still a little hard to understand how to completely use all functionality.

Pros

I like the weekly view when doing timesheets.

Cons

I feel as if it's difficult to understand the depth of all of the features of Workamajig. I also have issues looking up jobs, some times I need to refresh or log out and log back in.

### "There's better work management solutions out there"

Pros

Depending on the update, the project setup and schedule were very easy to use.

Cons

The user experience is very click heavy. The overall interface is very hard to use and train. I've found most agencies that use only a handful of features. We tried using the project management and resource management features, but the amount of clicks it takes to see people's availability is very time consuming. Ideally, should be able to see availability and resource straight from the project interface.

Organization and time tracking on accounts.

Pros

The schedules make keeping my creative team on task, with the numerous projects running on the same time line. Diary makes communication a breeze between all team members in various office locations. Keeping our mechanical files in the project's file section makes keeping things organized a breeze.

Cons

Platinum updated version is taking some time to get used to, but should be fine after some time and practice.

Pros

Not much. They used to force an insecure flash based version on us until about a year ago when they rolled out their "platinum" beta. Since then we've felt like test dummies with a buggy beta.

Cons

Is it possible to dislike everything about a product? They completely revamped their product in their new platinum version, and somehow they got everything wrong again. They started from the ground up and still held onto the terrible features from their insecure flash version. All of the new windows "open" on top of one another, instead of taking up the full screen. Even when they open, most of the time the windows freeze up if you start to resize the screen. It's a responsive design, but it's not responsive at all.

We use Workamajig where I work for project management. Now, I'm not a project manager, and I just use Workamajig to basically enter my time and expenses, and for whatever reason, these simple tasks just seem like a monumentally complex task in Workamajig. Luckily, our project managers are able to take the time to help me figure out exactly what I'm doing, because to me, it's an incredibly confusing system. I will say it's not the worst thing I've ever had to use as an employee. But for a very small team, it just seems like so much overkill to me.

Pros

Accessible on most any device. A lot of features.

Cons

Incredibly confusing to get acclimated to. The UI can be quite confusing.

It works great for what we use it for now, I've never worked with customer service yet or had an opportunity to explore the full features, but for hours tracking, project management and budget, it works well and does all we need!

Pros

Workamajig is quickly being spread across our entire company to be used for budget tracking. project management, and to do lists. The budget tracking and project management is the easiest portion we use right now. It's easy to start a timer on a task, track my team's hours and ensure they are putting the proper work into our projects.

Cons

It's a little clunky, the interface is big and complicated. A lot of buttons and access points that makes the whole tool seem overwhelming.

Lots of training for little reward. We ended up cutting it about 6 months in.

Pros

It accomplished the jobs of a lot of different programs so we only had to use this one software.

Cons

There were so many features and sections of the program that training/setup lasted weeks and then we still didn't know how to use it efficiently.

Generally, the Interface is better and easier to see

Cons

some of the functionality doesn't work ( i.e. old tickets won't come up, certain people can't be assigned to Tasks). Also, you're not able to bring up multiple tickets at once. Recent Conversation interface is worse than Diary

This software is used as a traffic manager for the large agency I work at. Overall, it is very effective at managing daily tasks and keeping all teams accountable. Like any software, proper training and standard operating procedures will guarantee the best results.

Pros

This software is a powerful task management and traffic tool for agencies of any size. It offers templates for recurring tasks and informative reporting features. The interface is well designed and intuitive to use.

Cons

This is a very complex software that will require customization for larger organizations. It also has some creative limitations that we have had to work around.

Overall my experience has been great for what I need from the software. The support team is pretty quick to response too.

Pros

I love the new Platinum version; it's so intuitive and easy to use. I practically live in Workamajig - it's where I do all of my scoping, resource management, timesheets and insertion orders for various mediums.

Cons

I don't like their workflow option. It's confusing and compared to other softwares, it's old school and clunky.

### "Since this was our first full-blown project management software, I was happy to have anything."

Pros

The Flash version looked like Excel and the HTML 5 version was clean in appearance. They threw a great party at their user conference.

Cons

The constant click thru needed to reach a site, the lack of email contact, tech support only through email (unless willing to pay more) which caused a back and forth situation, building of forms was tedious (Flash-based), reports were difficult to construct, lack of storage space caused addtional unexpected expenses of approx. $300/mo.
