### "Clio is Wonderful!"

May 23, 2022

5.0

Pros

I use Clio daily to manage my cases, prepare invoices and I recently learned I can save all of my case files and documents directly in Clio and avoid storing them in Google Docs where they previously were. Almost everything I need to run my law firm can be done directly from Clio. It's incredibly useful and the price is surprisingly affordable.

Cons

There is a "Detailed Annual Report" on the dashboard when I open Clio. I really wish this report accurately showed my income, but it's never accurate. Part of this is probably my fault. Half of my cases are done on a flat fee, but for some reason Clio wants me to create an invoice for all of my hourly cases and my flat fee cases. It's time consuming to create new invoices for my flat fee clients, so creating those invoices gets put on the backburner. I wish Clio could just acknowledge that I've earned income for flat fee cases if I make a transfer of the Trust funds.

### "Best in class"

December 8, 2022

5.0

I operate an entirely virtual law practice. Keeping all of my workflows and processes in the same ecosystem helps ensure consistency and efficient operations.

Pros

The single best part about Clio is the user interface. You can't overestimate the drain on your organization and your end-users by poor UX design. Clio is intuitive to use, and easy to customize. Their chat support is the best of any product I've used, in any category.

Cons

The in-app document management isn't great. It's good enough, but most users will want to integrate with an existing DMS.

Cosmolex had a less intuitive UI and didn't allow for batch changes, which makes it hard to iterate and improve. Actionstep has great automation potential, but didn't allow me to charge a second sales tax which is mandatory in my jurisdiction.

### "I am very happy with Clio. It is my office assistant."

April 25, 2018

5.0

It makes my job easier in finding documents, identifying which attorneys or staff is working on the cases, I can record all activities for payments, and can check to see if a bill has been paid, if I cannot understand a voicemail, I can easily use the filter feature using only the phone number to identify the person who left me the voicemail. I can set reminders for me in the tasks to keep me organized, which is very useful. And, Clio makes billing a heck of a lot easier. I could not do my job without Clio. Well, I guess I could do my job without Clio, but why bother when Clio makes my job easier.

Pros

1) I can check to see which attorneys or paralegals are working on this case by going to activities, 2) If I cannot understand a voicemail message, they don't leave a name, or only have the phone number, I can search contacts using the filter for the phone number which will bring up the client's name, 3) I can look at the progress of a case, 4) Clio just makes my job easier because of these features.

Cons

However, I do not understand why when creating a folder in Clio, I input the name of the folder, but then I have to go back into edits to designate what type of folder it is, i.e., correspondence, pleadings, statements, notes, etc. Why this second step. It would be more convenient if I could designate what type of folder it is when I am creating it.

### "We love CLIO!"

October 24, 2019

4.0

I have had a wonderful overall experience with CLIO and everyone associated with the product.

Pros

I started with our firm in October of 2018. Prior to starting here, I had worked as a paralegal in large corporations and never for law firms, so I was unfamiliar with most legal software. Having no experience with CLIO before, I was able to jump right in and found the system to be very easy to learn, easy to use, and intuitive. I have unofficially become the CLIO point of contact for our firm and have found that even if there’s something that I don’t know when a question is asked of me, CLIO makes it easy for me to find the answer. In my time here, I have found that the CLIO team, and especially CSR, are extremely professional and responsive if we ever need anything. They also consistently reach out to us to get our input on new and exciting products and add on’s to see how we might benefit from future use of such. Additionally, we recently added CLIO Grow to our profile and are excited to utilize it to continue growing our firm and client base. Overall, we are extremely pleased with CLIO and are excited to continue using and exploring how this product can help us reach new heights of case management, customer service, and new client onboarding!

Cons

I'm really hoping CLIO can upgrade their reporting capabilities. Especially surrounding custom fields and our ability to export them. We would love to be able to customize our reports easily that right now, are a pretty manual and time consuming process due to the lack of reporting functionality within CLIO.

### "Don't Lie Awake Worrying about something you missed!"

March 23, 2023

5.0

Excellent! We had a "glitch" with our conversion and they addressed it promptly. Training and follow up were excellent. Customer service and support are excellent.

Pros

The features help to insure that no deadline, follow up or task is missed. The mobile app and integration features add efficiency and helps to insure that all time is captured.

Cons

There are so many features that it can take some time to locate what you want until you become fluent.

### "Clio is my lifeline"

November 4, 2022

5.0

The staff is beyond helpful and friendly. They will even add certain features if you request them.

Pros

Clio allows me to put everything in one place. From intake, to custom fields, to all communications, document intake, calendering and scheduling, and billing- it is my literal lifeline for my law practice. I can task items to my staff and monitor our performance indicators.

Cons

My only gripe would be that Grow (client intake) and Manage are separate but they do feed into one another.

### "Clio Review"

Pros

Clio helps our law firm keep several copies of the same documents and keep a calendar at our fingertips. Even if we are on the go, we are still able to access client documents I also enjoy the fact that we can timeline how much work has been done for a case and reference other notes from several individuals collectively working.

Cons

I don't really like their billing system, our office mainly uses Quickbooks

I've had a good experience overall with CLIO.

Pros

I looked at several case management systems for my immigration practice, it really checked all the boxes when it came to intake, client invoicing, and helping my remote team stay organized.

Cons

I don't have a lot to complain about, it is not a cheap solution so the pricing is high.

### "Clio really helped me in my startup law corporation, I felt like I hit the ground running."

July 28, 2018

cash

Pros

The best part for me is how easy it is to track clients trust funds, bill for time and get paid. I didn't need to know much as it was all very straight forward and quite easy to use. The graphic user interface is a huge bonus, it just looks great. I especially like the performance tracking and you can see if you are meeting your goals or monthly quota for billable hours. Also, it tells you from the dashboard when you are owed or what is becoming due. The reports is a must and makes trust account reconcilliation very easy to do. Moreover, the matter and client tracking features are fantastic. I like that I could set who can see what and customize my experience with others in the firm. If I had to say in two words what I thought, I would say, "It Good!"

Cons

I suppose getting invited to New Orleans for the conferences and stuff. I mean, its just way too far for me to travel for a conference, maybe if there was something local here in Greater Vancouver, I might be inclined to attend . Also, I hate filling out surveys for companies that get my information for free, so that is why I only gave two words on the feedback survey.

### "Excellent Platform for Solos"

October 31, 2018

5.0

I have had excellent experience with this software and constantly recommend it to others, especially solo practitioners because I believe it gives a small office the same abilities of time and matter tracking that much larger firms have always enjoyed.

Pros

This software has made managing my solo practice a breeze. I love that I can track client bills and trust balances at a glance and can set and track goals for myself with billable time. The note-taking and correspondence tracking functions are essential with divorce clients who often claim they did not receive information; the program can track what documents were exchanged or accessed. The invoicing is simple and pairing billing with LawPay makes it easy to get paid online via credit card. Addition of payment plans has also been a boon.

Cons

I wish that the software had an accounting function, but it does work seamlessly with Xero, my accounting software. I also would change some minor details like adding more user-controlled functions to the reporting capabilities; for instance, I would like to be able to customize exactly what data my reports generate (such as trust ledger reports that included the last action on an individual account).

### "Clio Is The Best"

September 4, 2018

5.0

I have not had a single issue with Clio. I have used it now for three years. My bills look sharp and the time/activity record keeping is flawless, which helps when I have to push to get paid. The trust accounting is redundant and airtight. I am looking forward to developing my practice and I know that Clio is expanding its range of functions at a rate faster than any of my needs. Clio is leading the industry in coordinating with third party vendors (Lawpay, Outlook etc) to make Clio even more functional and efficient.

Pros

There is much to like about Clio. Their customer support is first rate and comprehensive. For example, learning to manage trust accounting and the creation of regular client invoices are critical and time sensitive activities. During my first year with Clio, I would call customer service at the end of each month as I encountered small mistakes I made in billing or accounting. Clio was always there willing to patiently walk me through my steps to help me fix my errors. The billing and accounting features are redundant and it is almost impossible to make a mistake that cannot be fixed. Time entry is simple and efficient.

Cons

I love the ease of use with respect to creating bills and managing trust accounting. On a different level, I have confidence that Clio is on the cutting edge of technology and software developments. As is evidenced by their annual conference, Clio is a leader in the industry. My investment in time learning this platform will continue to pay dividends as I mature as a solo practitioner. I am a veteran litigator but I recently opened my own practice. Clio has been the one indispensable tool to my new practice.

### "Clio is only ONE piece of what you need"

Pros

Invoicing was good the integration with LawPay was terrible

Cons

### "Very Satisfied"

September 16, 2019

5.0

Very satisfied; excellent product.

Pros

Easy to use -- calendaring, opening new matters, time entries, notes, billing. I like the interface, the way it looks. Program includes trust accounting. Can include/integrate credit card billing as an option which I did, and works well. Have used Law Pay for a while and it integrates through Clio. Send out invoices through Clio, client can click on button to make credit card payment, and have option to have program automatically apply to open invoices when payment comes in -- get email notifications of payments. Very satisfied with the program -- does what I need and enjoy using.

Cons

I don't think it's a negative factor, but don't use the mobile app much, for whatever that means. Tend to just check my iphone calendar (I use Office 365 to integrate, other options also I think like Google to integrate -- Clio integrates with Office 365 and iphone calendar will show Office and Google calendar events). There is a new beta version of the mobile app available for use that looked at today and I like -- I could see using that to make entries if I need while out of the office, but usually just do all of that at my computer in the office.

Pros

### "Solo Attorney Highly Recommends Clio"

August 19, 2019

5.0

Clio has made me much more organized and efficient. My billing process is easier and smoother and I keep better track of accounts receivable. Much easier to track the progress of a file and leads. It is easy to share documents and communications securely with clients

Pros

Clio software is comprehensive and covers everything that I need as a solo attorney to keep my practice running smoothly and efficiently. Clio Grow is a new feature that helps me track leads, lead sources, the intake process, etc. It is very comprehensive and is easily merged with Clio Manage. The Clio help desk is excellent. Answers are always spot on. If they cannot fix my problem, they will honestly tell me that Clio does not have the capability that I'm looking for and they will offer to submit a request for that capability to be considered in the future. Clio is always looking to address customer needs.

Cons

Does not have all of the capabilities that I need but has most of them. Sometimes the queue for the help desk/chat is rather long.

### "Clío Daily User"

October 10, 2020

4.0

Overall I still like the product and have invested time and money to keep a customer profile of all our clients. However, knowing the product for many years I have experienced it’s full potential and would like the current issues to be corrected.

Pros

Our office implemented Clío Manage to keep our client files virtually. The program has the capacity to keep notes, documents, time keeping, invoices, task management and an email communication log, of all our firm clients in one place. In addition, you can share documents with your clients for easy access and communication.

Cons

I have used Clío for over 4 years, when we started the program it worked perfectly. Unfortunately a system update eliminated the email plugin and created a new and updated one, which came with flaws that have not been corrected. Now emails are hard to save into our files, some don’t save at all. The glitches have affected the program from working at 100% efficiency. I would recommend for Clío to go back to its previous system plugin, as this upgrade affected the overall quality of the program. In addition, the Mobil app for Clío is not capable for viewing documents or to add any information to the file. It’s a read-only app which makes it useless.

### "Perfect Software for Law Practices! "

October 14, 2019

5.0

Overall, Clio is an amazing software. It's easy to work with whether you're a computer wizard or not. I've trained several new employees who have not had any issues with Clio and have caught on real quick. Because of how easy, fast and organized Clio is, I 100% recommend this program.

Pros

This software is perfect. I like how it keeps client files, notes and funds along with other features organized. I like that we are able to share secure files with clients and that clients are able to make secure payments. Customer service when I can't figure something out or simply having issues with the software is amazing. No matter what the issue is if any at all, you have easy access to online videos and round the clock help that are able to help you right away. I love the new beta application and the upgrade that was recently done to the dashboard and the fact that if there is an issue with Clio or maintenance we get a notification letting us know right away.

Cons

The one thing that I found a bit confusing as well as some of our clients are the invoices. Sometimes there a little hard to read. However, once you get used to viewing them more frequently you obviously get the hang of it. To be more specific, the confusing part of an invoice is the bottom of the invoice the "Detailed Statement of Account." Either way, it's not a daily thing when explaining these to client's. However, that being said, Clio is very good at following up with any issues that anyone experiences in a quickly and professional manner to ensure we as a client/user are having a great experience.

### "Clio is an essential part of this law firm"

July 25, 2019

5.0

Pros

Having direct access to the company, and the developers is a huge benefit to using Clio. If there's something that's not quite right, there's usually an easy fix or workaround, and you don't have to wait around for days or weeks to get a response from support. As far as the software itself, we love the nearly limitless integration ability of Clio, and the fact that they're always adding/improving features, like CourtRules, which is essential to our litigation practice.

Cons

We've been powered by Clio since 2011, and at the time, subscription software was a new concept, which took me a while to warm up to. Eight years later, however, everything requires a subscription, so this is a non-issue. I can only think of two things that I wish Clio would come up with a fix for: (1) ability to merge duplicate contacts; and (2) bring back the ability to have a less expensive subscriptions for non-attorney users.

Pros

Cons

Reason for choosing Clio

October 13, 2020

4.0

Overall it is a great program that is adaptable to your own needs. it is small enough to not be overwhelimgin with useless checklists and to do items.

Pros

Clio is a very adaptable program that we are able to mold to our firms unique style. we are able to track emails, client notes, client documents, calendar events, court pleadings and work flow. we are a small firm and this program allows us to work efficiently without huge overhead.

Cons

The cloud based service takes some adjusting to but once you get it incorporated into your daily actions it is very nice to have all your files a smart phone away. the program is not as intuitive for an older practinoner like me but the younger staff members are good. Clio is always wanting you to come to a seminar or program which is annoying. I like the program, doesn't mean I want to travel all over to hear others talk about the program.

### "Accept No Substitute for Small Firms"

November 6, 2019

4.0

Clio has helped us to cut down the time it takes to intake, retain, track, and bill clients, and shaves countless hours of administrative tasks off of our dockets. It is great as a lawyer to be able to manage these items directly and promptly for my clients, and it also makes our administrative staff free to focus on more valuable tasks and firm operations.

Pros

Clio is a wonderfully innovative, reliable, and flexible platform for managing client matters, billing, and a host of miscellaneous issues and data. Our firm has been using Clio for 3 years, starting with simply using it to track time and client info, and since expanding it to track client intake and retainers, accounting automation, bill collection, and even digital minute book storage. Clio has continued to add features over time which has given the platform greater function and synergy with our workflows, with more upgrades always on the horizon. There are also many great supplementary platforms and software which can "talk" to clio via its API, and which only add further functionality. Overall it's an incredibly useful system for a small firm if you take the time to set it up, and it is also fairly stable and reliable.

Cons

There is the occasional downtime or glitch that comes through, those these are usually addressed promptly. Aside from this, the biggest challenge is taking the time to set up Clio properly, learn its systems, and find supplementary software for any features which are not yet supported. There is definitely a setup and learning curve, but once overcome it is a solid system.
