### "Customer service makes all the difference. "

May 16, 2017

5.0

All the information you need at your fingertips, anywhere in the world. Hassle-free and comprehensive customer service.

Pros

Packed with features. There is just so much that can be done with this software that a firm might not have thought to do with some of the older software platforms. Everything is secure and designed from a legal professional's viewpoint. Every person in our firm can handle a case from start to finish without leaving the Clio platform -- anywhere, anytime. Also, the customer service should not be overlooked. When we were researching various platforms to take over for Time Matters (Practice Panther, Rocket Matter, MyCase, etc.) Clio was the only company that had a knowledgable onboarding professional at the ready. They were incredibly flexible with letting us extend our demo phase and spent many hours running through different functions with us. They even held a full-scale training session with our entire staff BEFORE we had signed up. Even after we purchased Clio, they continued to hold our hand through the entire implementation process. That sort of service made our transition into the cloud seamless and allowed us to really take advantage of cost-savings that we were aiming for.

Cons

The only issue that we've had so far is personalizing the goals on the dashboard page. It would be nice to have a more granular and specific revenue analysis for each attorney. Granted, we are still implementing other more important features firm-wide, so this hasn't been the highest priority, and it's more of a luxury anyway.

### "Why Clio Works for me"

December 13, 2023

5.0

I really like it! The user face is friendly and helpful. And the Tech Support is Outstanding!

Pros

Once I got the hang of it, I love the Document and time management features.

Cons

Sometimes it's a little tricky to load on my computer.. And I'm trying to learn everything all at once. Management demands expertise after a few cases. I'm not young anymore. And rushing my learning won't help with Learning vs.rote memorization!

### "So much better than my old software!!"

October 4, 2016

5.0

I have been using Clio for about a year now and absolutely love it. I used to use Abacus Law which was fine but frustrating. Clio is SO easy to use, I'm a lawyer, not an accountant, but it's easy to figure out what I'm supposed to do. Plus their customer service and on-boarding process are great. Any issues I've had I've been able to resolve quickly with the support team and the development team listens to feedback from users and implements it! Pretty awesome. I have small firm, it's just me. I travel all over the place and I love being able to log into Clio any time anywhere, even from my phone! I capture a lot more of my billable hours. And invoicing my clients in a SNAP. The third party integrations are outstanding, I love how it works with so many other products that I use. I've been able to stack a lot of things to make my firm seem like it's a lot bigger than it is. I <3 Clio! Get it, you will not be sorry.

Pros

Easy to use Fast performance Clear user interface Available anywhere Lots of integrations with other products Great customer training and support Easy, fast invoicing

Cons

The dashboard needs some work, it's not possible to customize how many days of the year you will work (so you can meet the goals you set) and it's currently not possible to track by revenue in the door, only by billed hours. Would love to have an integration available with project management software since tasks are just to do lists and to do lists don't work.

### "Essential features that make law practice much smoother and less stressful! "

December 16, 2022

Clio makes my job easier in so many ways.

Pros

Task management, billing, hourly goals are features I used on a daily basis.

Cons

It is sometimes hard to run reports. The report feature I use most often is invoice billing history.

### "Clio Review"

February 14, 2023

5.0

Pros

I really enjoy how easy the software is to read and find everything. I really appreciate the time tracking as well. Clio has helped me learn a lot about softwares and even how it compares to other. It is up there on the list for sure. When someone tells me about another software, I tell them about Clio because I really like the software.

Cons

One thing I would change about Clio is add a dashboard or feed for each matter. This would be so everything that has happened for a matter can be seen quickly in one place. I would also say the customer service could use some improvement at times.

### "Clio will never be perfect, but continuously improving is all we can hope for in software anyway"

September 26, 2016

4.0

Over five years ago, while still in my first year of solo practice (6 years after first bar admission), I tried another product advertised to work for Mac users and it was a nightmare, so I resolved to try Rocketmatter and Clio; for whatever reason, I found I preferred the look and feel of Clio, and have been with it since. It's the first program I open every day and the last program I shut down when I go home. I am a true solo with no staff support still, and am just now tip-toeing into hiring some staff support - Clio makes it easy for me to use remote support, work-from-home assistants, etc., which is great for keeping the overhead low and the ROI on it high.

Pros

The integrated suite of functions

Cons

1) There are some known glitches that result from the cloud exchange of data that don't seem to be getting corrected. 2) The UI should be more customizable within the total Clio palette of functions and features. I'm very oriented towards being able to do everything with keystrokes as efficiently as possible, and Clio isn't there yet in its usability. 3) I'm growing increasingly concerned about my inability to access my data following a big natural disaster (such as the Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake). Clio needs to offer a function that will allow lawyers to use Clio in "isolated/local only" mode (i.e., with no internet connection to the mothership) and then sync all the changes once the internet is restored. If I ever leave Clio it will be because of this concern. In the event of a big disaster recovery, I should be able to keep practicing as much as possible just like I am now, even if Clio and the Internet are not available.

### "Absolutely love Clio! "

June 29, 2019

5.0

Our firm as a whole is extremely happy with Clio. It makes our day to day much easier and less of a headache. It’s the one software that we use most every day, and I have recommended it to numerous other offices when the subject has come up. Clio is easy to use for us, as well as our clients, and their Clio Support team is knowledgeable and helpful anytime we have needed to contact them for an issue.

Pros

I love the ease of use, the ability to see when a client has read or opened a document or message, being able to keep track of time AND send bills from the same software. Our clients can easily keep track of all of their documents and bills in one place.

Cons

I dislike that Clio and our LawPay account do not “talk” as simply as we would like. It would be very helpful if there was a way that transactions went directly into Clio, and to a specific client matter, when processed on LawPay. The app is a little hard to navigate also. I typically login to the web access on my phone versus using the app.

### "Improve your productivity with Clio"

July 23, 2022

5.0

I only recently discovered Clio. Before that, I was doing my tasks in a traditional way which also consumed a lot of time and money. I am sure that Clio will greatly improve my productivity and financial performance. I'm sorry I didn't find out before.

Pros

Time and cost! This is the most important thing on which business is based, so if you perform your work at the lowest cost and in the least possible time, then you are on the right path. What I like about Clio is that it can save me a lot and a lot of time that I used to deal with a lot of data and often messy as well as saving a lot Of the costs I would have incurred if I dealt with this data traditionally Clio is an automated secretary that can do everything, manage your communications, your money, your data, and even provide you with reports on your professional and financial performance at different intervals, and this is really excellent and very comprehensive It provides excellent solutions that allow you to run your business from anywhere at any time, this is the future of business!

Cons

Despite all the positive aspects that Clio offers, I think that the Clio team can provide a better experience for the customer by improving the user interface and making it less complicated. Without the need to spend more time learning to use the application In addition, I advise the Clio team to invest more in the use of artificial intelligence in tasks that can be performed with voice commands, which will facilitate things a lot in the future and make the application a pioneer in its field for many years.

### "Life Changing"

January 20, 2023

5.0

Faster billing

Pros

Clio revolutionized how we bill our clients. Easy to use and integrates with everything we need and use.

Cons

(1)Reporting - The reporting is far off from what our firm and clients need. There are no reports that provide the complete information. No reports that include my custom fields. I have to export to excel to create any and all reports. This is frustrating. But I have faith that one day Clio's reporting will become more robust.(2)Some billing functions - We are a high volume Immigration firm that is 95% Flat Fee billing. Clio is better for hourly billing and time keeping. However, it is very easy to create work-arounds. I just hope Clio's development team can eventually fix this issue to make my life easier.

Reason for choosing Clio

The sales team, onboarding and training was great!

I am very happy with CLIO. I find it to be quite intuitive

Pros

I like how easy it is to use CLIO (including CLIO Grow) from pre-client stage to setting up files, to timekeeping, to invoicing. It is pretty much seamless. I also really like the service I receive when I have questions.

Cons

I have trouble organizing the custom fields. I still have not figured this out.

### "Clio is your Go-To Product for running a law firm "

August 24, 2022

5.0

Pros

We use Clio for case management, payments, billing, and lead generation/referral management. We love that we have all of these tools within 1 platform. Also, the Clio customer service is top notch.

Cons

If there is ever a feature we wish could be added or improved - we reach out and they respond and take your input into consideration for their development team.

Reason for choosing Clio

The app integrations, lead generation software (Grow), and the customer service were superior.

### "Clio Makes Our Practice Leaner, Cleaner, and Better"

October 21, 2019

5.0

It is one of the best pieces of software in the legal industry (Office 365 and Practical Law are our other favorites) and it is a massive improvement over every practice management solution we've experienced at other firms. We have complete practice management out-of-office and in-office, and it is easy. We love Clio.

Pros

Clio allows us to conduct advanced analytics about our utilization of time, billing efficiency, collections, and revenue. Clio is the application we use to issue monthly invoices for dozens of matters in less than two hours, every month. Clio is a one-stop shop for case and client management, computerized calendaring, document management, timekeeping, and billing. It is the single best tool in our thriving litigation practice, and a mission-critical advantage over traditional law practices. Finally, Clio is improved with new features on a consistent basis. The new features always improve our practice and our lives.

Cons

My minor complaints about the software are merely thoughts on further improvement. I expect they will be implemented sooner rather than later, as that has been past experience.

Clio has made my work life easier.

Pros

Clio's customer service is exemplary. They are always there to help and go beyond. The culture at Clio brings the right team to define and make solutions for legal proactices.

Cons

### "The best option for our firm"

February 11, 2020

4.0

We have been very pleased and are going to expand our use over the next 6 mo nths

Pros

It is an industry standard and has a lot of options included in the flat rate. I like how easy the easy parts are to use, as we are not the most tech savvy office.

Cons

The mobile app is terrible and the billing app is tough to use. I do not find the GUI intuitive for may items, but that might just be me

### "Avoid this product if you require data migration "

August 3, 2022

2.0

The Clio sales team makes promises that the product does not deliver. Disappointing customer support after the sale.

Pros

The main reason I selected Clio was the web interface. I was also promised data migration from Lexis Nexis that fell short of promises made.

Cons

Customer support is almost non-existent after the sale. I purchased 13 licenses for two different law offices last year. After the contract is signed and paid for, many of the promises made during the sales process are never delivered on. I recently had an attorney leave my office and contact Clio to have his case information migrated to a new Clio account. He was told that this would not be a problem. After he paid for the license we are realizing that you have to be a data scientist to accomplish this feat. The response I am getting from customer support is that they will do it if he agrees to go to the next higher pricing tier.

Reason for choosing Clio

Promises made regarding data migration and integration with Office 365

I really enjoy clio. I think both programs are great for their own reasons.

Pros

I like how easy it is to manage my case load, add events to my calendar, keep track of important dates, keeping track of my time, and billing.

Cons

### "Streamlining Legal Workflow with Clio"

June 4, 2023

5.0

My overall experience with Clio has been quite positive. As an attorney, I find its comprehensive feature set invaluable for managing my caseload and streamlining my day-to-day operations. The platform's user-friendly design simplifies navigating through different modules, whether I'm tracking billable hours, organizing case files, or communicating with clients. Clio's integration capabilities have proven to be a major time-saver. For instance, linking it with Outlook has made managing emails and appointments much more efficient.

Pros

Clio provides an all-in-one solution for managing cases, tracking time, billing, and communication. Its user-friendly interface allows for easy navigation and efficient workflow.

Cons

While Clio is generally a great platform, it sometimes experiences minor hiccups in syncing data across multiple devices.

### "Good for Solo"

September 4, 2018

5.0

Overall Clio was easy to install, easy to set up, easy to input firm and client information into, and easy to operate and manage on a daily basis.

Pros

I am a solo, limiting my practice to construction law with about a 50-50 mix of litigation and "outside general counsel" for long-term clients. I no longer maintain an office or staff, so a simple but comprehensive case management program is a necessity. Clio Basic handles what I need, especially the ability to digitally file all emails and documents associated with a case. The timekeeping and billing functions work well for me now that all of my clients are using Clio Connect for me to deliver my bills to them.

Cons

I think the user interface for entering client payments is poorly laid out and not very intuitive. I wish Clio would let me apply payments to interest, costs or fees; so that I could decide where I want to write off balances owed.

### "Clutch Case Management System"

February 18, 2020

4.0

CLIO has been a great platform helping us to digitize our record storage, note-keeping, conflict checks, and work in progress. We have multiple offices so CLIO helps personnel and attorneys at multiple locations keep track of updates and physical file notes. CLIO has also helped with customer service experience because staff can retrieve notes and provide feedback and answers to clients about their matters more quickly by referring to notes and documents uploaded to the platform.

Pros

Simple layout makes it easy to follow. Jump into a contact or matter screen and you can access information organized by tabs, making it easy to keep track of information about clients and their matters. Love the task tracking function. It helps me to keep tabs on my to-dos and is just another way of keeping a record of my activity.

Cons

Would like to see a better document management / retrieval / viewing functionality. There are a lot of peripherals and integrations with CLIO that would take forever to comb through and figure out exactly how useful they are. It's great that CLIO is an "open" platform and integrates with so many other programs, but the abundance of choice makes it hard to narrow down options. The tabs all have fixed functionality. Not all practice areas organize information the same way and it would be nice to be able to customize tabs, information that can be saved to tabs or tables, and customized frames for organizing information in ways relevant to a practice area, matter, or particular client.

### "Clio: Very good"

July 24, 2019

4.0

Pros

Overall I'd rate Clio as good-to-very good, it's not perfect but it's pretty great; the integration among the features is extremely convenient, the ability to link phone calls/emails to matters, to auto-bill those transactions and document them in the file, are great. Maybe the best part is their customer support, it is really outstanding;

Cons

2 things: (1) the court-rule / docketing is pretty good, but not quite as robust as I was used to when using Vision Docket; and (2) it's a little awkward having only electronic access to docs---open a doc on the screen, open another, tab between them, etc., just not the same as having multiple pieces of paper on my desk, switch view using only eyeballs;

### "Clio Works so you can work. "

January 24, 2024

5.0

Very good experience. There is always someone to answer your questions via the chat feature. It just works.

Pros

I like the ease of producing bills. I like the integration with my Gmail. Customer support has been excellent from the start. I am having a small problem with integration that they have been working on and I have heard back from them each day.

Cons

I would like to be able to access my files in more of a "file-like interface". It would also be nice if the contents of an Order, say one setting a hearing could be read by AI and prompt you to confirm the creation of a calendar setting.
