### "Full Spectrum Operations Support"

May 12, 2026

5.0

Overall, Clio has been a solid investment for my practice. Since implementing it seven months ago, it's become central to how I operate, from client intake through case closure and billing. The platform handles the core functions I need well: case management is intuitive, the document drafting and template features have genuinely improved my output speed and accuracy, and time tracking integrates smoothly with the billing workflow. That said, there is one frustration worth mentioning: the credit card processing fees add up quickly. If clients elect to pay via credit card with any frequency, that cost structure can feel steep and eats into what would otherwise be a strong value proposition. If I elect to pass the cost on to the client, they lose the ability to use Apple Pay, which is why I haven't yet elected to do that.

Pros

The integrated workflow across intake, case management, document drafting, and billing has been transformative for my practice. In seven months, Clio has significantly streamlined how I handle client intakes and document preparation. What used to be scattered across multiple systems now flows seamlessly in one place. Specifically, the document management and drafting features let me build and reuse templates efficiently, which has made my output faster and more consistent. Paired with the time tracking and case management tools, I can see the full picture of each matter from intake through invoicing without jumping between platforms. The time tracking integration with billing is particularly valuable; I'm capturing hours accurately as we work rather than reconstructing time logs later. It's made me more efficient and reduced the errors that come from manual data entry and disjointed systems.

Cons

It is expensive for a solo practitioner. Having to pay additional fees for each state's template library seems unnecessary. May attorneys are licensed in multiple jurisdictions.

### "Solid, future focused platform!"

May 12, 2026

5.0

Overall, our experience with Clio has been positive. I particularly love how forward thinking Clio is as a brand and they continue to challenge the way that law serves the community. It is a strong platform for firms that want to stay organized, improve client experience, and centralize operations. Like any system, though, it works best when the firm already has strong processes and accountability in place.

Pros

From my perspective, Clio has been a really solid platform for managing a modern law firm. One of the biggest positives is that it is fairly easy to use compared to a lot of other legal software. It brings together calendaring, matter management, billing, documents, client communication, payments, and workflows all in one place, which helps create more consistency across the firm and a better experience for clients. It has also been helpful from an operational standpoint because the cloud-based setup makes remote work and accessibility much easier. Without Clio we would have had a really difficult time navigating the Covid years. I also think Clio does a good job with integrations. It connects with a lot of the other tools firms already use, which helps avoid having everything live in separate systems. The client-facing features like payment links, portals, and scheduling tools also make things feel more streamlined and professional for clients.

Cons

A few frustrations - like most platforms, it is geared toward firms that bill by the hour and we do not. Reporting is one of the weaker areas, especially if you want detailed operational data or more customized tracking. As the firm grows, you also start to notice that some workflows feel a little rigid, and there are times where you have to adjust your process to fit the system. Costs can also add up quickly once you start adding users, integrations, and additional features. Also, our initial migration did not go well, but Clio bent over backwards to remedy the situation which we greatly appreciated.

### "Clio is great"

March 1, 2026

I love Clio, I think it has very good benefits and it fits our needs perfectly. It is fully customizable and we love the client portal.

Pros

I love the customer service if I ever have an issue they will address it right away. I also love that I can customize my files my way and organize my documents as I wish.

Cons

The banking system is a little complicated. We use Clio and quickbooks and all transactions have to be inputted a certain way or it will disrupt the accounting.

### "Robust Search Capabilities and Document Automation"

May 3, 2026

5.0

Clio has a superior user experience and user interface, its layout is much more user-friendly than most other case management platforms we have sampled.

Pros

Clio's robust search field allows you to easily scan your existing legal universe to reference documents and information, and you can create templates easily to automate routine tasks. The pricing is in line with the industry, and for a solo or small business, it's actually a pretty modest expense.

Cons

The Personal Injury has module started off with exciting possibilities, but we are waiting and hoping for more Insurance-oriented updates and pre-built fields for that.

### "Clio is amazing!"

February 10, 2026

5.0

Clio has been great overall. I can communicate with clients easily, and the integrations make doing every day tasks easy. The AI support is also a really good feature. 9 times out of 10, it can answer my questions while also showing me step by step how to it.

Pros

Clio makes managing client files super easy. I like that we have the option to send documents for e-signature, and that Clio lets us know when it has been viewed and signed. The Outlook integration is amazing, if a coworker is unavailable for a specific client, I can go to the communications tab and see what is going on in their file.

Cons

In order to do things, such as creating a bill, it takes way too many clicks to accomplish. I would like it better if there was simply a button we can push.

### "A Game-Changer for Law Firm Automation and Efficiency"

August 6, 2025

5.0

Clio has completely transformed the way I run my law practice. From administrative tasks to legal workflows, the sheer number of features Clio offers for automation is remarkable. It’s clear that this platform was built with modern law firms in mind. Clio delivers exceptional value for money—it’s more than just practice management software; it’s a comprehensive ecosystem that consolidates nearly every function I need to operate efficiently. The ease of use is impressive, even for those who aren’t especially tech-savvy. Everything is intuitive, and the learning curve is minimal. Customer support is consistently responsive and knowledgeable, making onboarding and troubleshooting a breeze. I especially appreciate the robust invoicing features, which simplify time tracking and billing while reducing administrative overhead. Document management is seamless, and I’ve had no issues with data migration, which speaks to how well the platform handles transitions from other systems. One of Clio’s standout strengths is its ever-growing library of integrated apps. From e-signatures and accounting tools to legal research and communications, these integrations let you streamline most operations and keep everything centralized. Having nearly everything in one place has saved me time, improved accuracy, and allowed my firm to grow without being bogged down by disjointed systems.

Pros

Powerful automation features for both administrative and legal workflows Excellent value for money Intuitive and user-friendly interface Responsive and knowledgeable customer support Seamless invoicing and time tracking Robust document management system Smooth and reliable data migration Extensive library of integrated apps Ability to centralize most law firm operations in one platform Streamlines workflows, saves time, and supports firm growth

Cons

The only issues I can remember encountering related to trying to integrate my VoIP phone system with Clio to ensure that all calls in or out are logged into Clio.

Reason for choosing Clio

I chose Clio over other legal practice management software because it offers unmatched automation capabilities that streamline both legal and administrative workflows, saving time and reducing errors. Its extensive app integrations allow me to centralize nearly all my operations in one place, creating a seamless and efficient work environment. Clio strikes the perfect balance between ease of use and robust functionality, making it easy to adopt without compromising power. Its invoicing and billing tools are best-in-class, and the customer support is consistently responsive and knowledgeable. Data migration was smooth and fully supported—unlike with some competitors—and Clio’s strong reputation in the legal community gave me confidence in its long-term value. I also appreciate the flexible, scalable pricing, secure cloud-based infrastructure, and the all-in-one functionality that eliminates the need for multiple disjointed systems. Clio has truly been a strategic investment in the growth and efficiency of my law practice.

### "HIGHLY RECOMMEND CLIO - For now and the next 5-10 years."

October 30, 2025

5.0

Aside from that minor, negative Con above, I Love Clio, as does my staff and colleagues. I've been practicing 34 years, and somewhat of a legal-tech nerd, and hope to remain with Clio for the remainder of my career (5 - 10 years).

Pros

Clio is constantly evolving, improving and innovating to improve the Customer (law firm) experience, consequently enhancing clients' matter outcomes and the client experience.

Cons

Pricing is seemingly disjointed. Separate tiers for Manage (LPM), Grow (CRM), Accounting, Draft (Docs/Templates/Automations), the CPI (Clio Personal Injury "add-on") and now Clio Work (Ai, Research, etc.) If these programs were integrated, and we could select them a la carte under various plans, versus what appear to be distinct packages (some based on user licenses, some that are mandatory for the firm), it would help. IF the CPI or DRAFT were included, maybe for a slightly higher price, it would seem more integrated. I understand the economics, costs to deliver superb service by Clio and value the various components bring, but it is becoming onerous and unwieldy for a solo/sm. firm.

### "I just love Clio!"

November 4, 2025

5.0

Clio is the only product I would ever use for law firm management. From billing to CRM to scheduling to task management - it handles everything with ease. Finally, whenever I have a question or concern, the service reps at Clio have always been well-informed and ready to help.

Pros

Clio is great because it helps me manage all of my back office functions seamlessly and communicate with clients easily for a fair and reasonable price.

Cons

Since 2016 I have been advocating for Clio to manage the task part of the app. As it works now I need to manually enter in each task reminder rather than being able to click once to give me a standard list of reminder times.

### "Good for billing, bad for migration. "

February 13, 2026

2.0

The product is fine - the reports are wonky to be honest. For example, summary total columns are excluded when you view multiple users, and are not included at all in CSV. Why would you not include a "total" at the bottom of every report. Its like the one thing you actually want to see, and its strangely missing. The responsiveness to my complaints about this, has been underwhelming.

Pros

Clio document management and the billing and invoicing is easy to use and is helpful. The email reminders have already brought up some old AR that was unrecognized, and started bringing it in.

Cons

THe data integration was a mess. It still is. I signed up in October, migrated end of December, and in mid February cannot get an accurate report for the fees earned in January. I have called and spoke with multiple people, and none are able to help. I asked to generate one report - and Clio is unable to generate the one report after the migration - how much revenue did my attorneys actually bring in based upon the hours they worked. Clio does not migrate this data. Despite me saying this is the one report I want, and being reassured I could get it. When they could not generate it, they just told me to hire an outside consultant. They are evaluating an offset of my fees, but no promises, and no solutions as of yet.

### "Using Clio at a Small Firm"

May 4, 2026

4.0

Overall the experience has been good, we've been using Clio Manage consecutively for several years now and find that it works the same or more efficiently than when combined with Clio Work.

Pros

Ease of use for law firms - Document Management, Team Collaboration, and Invoicing are all relatively simple for a small firm, as well as communicating with clients and moving data around. The arrival of Clio Automations/ Workflows is expected to be very helpful to our firm also.

Cons

Clio Grow and Clio Manage don't seem to be well integrated, however overall Manage has been able to do a majority of what our firm needs. There have been updates, like Multi Client Matters, but there are also improvements that would benefit us significantly, like being able to Quick Bill a multi client matter, or being able to create the tasks/ task lists/ matter statuses directly within Automated Workflows

### "Clio Keeps me on track!"

August 19, 2025

5.0

This user friendly system continues to amaze me as it has added more and more desirable features. Great for solo practitioners and larger firms alike!

Pros

The more I use Clio Manage, the smoother the administration of my business becomes. It is easy to use, can be adapted in many ways to fit your practice and customer service is great. It is my "go to" for calendar and task management. I am also now learning to use it to capture my client emails and communicaitons without need to use add-on apps and for better cybersecurity.

Cons

They add new features faster than I can learn them AND there are features in other programs that I would use but as a solo, I find that the added on-going cost is not worth the time saving it will bring me.

Reason for choosing Clio

I know what I looked at years ago - some were way to expensive for me as a solo

5.0

CLIO has been fantastic and we have no plans to discontinue our partnership with them in our firm. They have helped greatly with our productivity and task management and we have had great feedback from the client side (billing, document transmission, etc.)

Pros

CLIO has been a wonderful addition to our office platforms at our firm. It's easy to use, houses all of our client information and document storage, houses our calendar and allows for easy management of multiple schedules, billing and inner office communication.

Cons

CLIO has so many new additions constantly - and while they are great at promoting the new additions, the integration hasn't always been as seamless or knowing who to contact when needing more information on the programs.

It has been really great. Like mentioned above, there are some little things I wish could be changes, but overall, we have had a great experience.

Overall experience has been positive; have not even considered using any other software. Customer support is always available to assist, and Clio offers options to test new product features. The ability to "customize" add-on features is a plus for law firms with changing needs.

Pros

Time tracking and invoicing are easy to use, and the client portal allows for paperless practice and document management. ### "Like Randomly Shredding Files Without Warning"

July 23, 2025

1.0

If you are OK with information randomly disappearing and you don't care about he accuracy of your data, and you don't expect tech support to help when the system crashes - then you may not be too badly disappointed.

Pros

Clio was promising when we first adopted it over a decade ago. We stayed out of inertia. It was not the worst program we ever used.

Cons

Horribly unreliable with useless support. One benefit had been the ability to create and track notes under matters. Then today, without any warning 3 notes from 3 phone calls representing 3 hours of work disappeared. "Tech support" was a total waste of time. They had no idea why the notes disappeared or how they could be retrieved.

### "Clio Overpromised in Australia — Still Waiting Two Years Later"

July 11, 2025

1.0

Clio made big promises when they first launched in Australia — seamless integrations, automated processes, and a fully functional payment system, all supposedly ready within six months. Two years later, I’m still waiting for most of that to materialise. I feel let down by the gap between the sales pitch and what’s actually been delivered. Clio may be more developed in other markets, but in Australia, it’s been frustratingly underwhelming. If you’re based in Australia, I’d strongly recommend doing a deep dive and asking very specific questions about what functionality is actually available to you now — not what they hope to offer “soon.” The product feels unfinished in this market, and support can be slow and unresponsive.

Pros

•Clean and user-friendly interface •Good for basic matter management and time recording •Secure and cloud-based, which suits remote teams

Cons

•Key integrations promised at sign-up still don’t exist (two years later) •Clio Payments is not fully automated — many manual steps still required •Support tickets often go unanswered for weeks •Poor accountability from support and product teams •Not well adapted to Australian legal practice needs

### "Smooth Navigation and Smart Features — Just Needs Tweaks"

August 1, 2025

5.0

Pros

Clio's document management is reliable and easy to use, making it simple to keep case files organized and accessible. Data migration, especially with Clio Grow, is smooth and well-supported, allowing for an easy transition from other systems. The overall navigation is intuitive, helping users move through tasks quickly without a steep learning curve. These strengths make Clio a solid choice for firms looking to improve efficiency without sacrificing usability.

Cons

There’s room for improvement in the Matter Stages feature. While it’s useful for visualizing workflow, it doesn’t remember previously used stage setups, which can slow things down when opening new matters. Additionally, the display of client names is sometimes incomplete, showing only partial names in some views—this can be frustrating when trying to differentiate between clients quickly. These are relatively minor issues but noticeable in regular use.

### "Clio is the best!"

May 12, 2026

5.0

My experience with Clio has been a game-changer for everyday work life. I can't even remember life without it! It's the most helpful tool we use at our firm, genuinely. It's a great system and our favorite here.

Pros

I like how organized Clio keeps me. From the calendar to the notes. It's our mail tool for the work day. We'd be lost without it. It's so easy to use once you get the hang of it.

Cons

I wouldn't necessarily say I dislike anything about Clio. I do wish somehow it could somehow indicate if we are creating a duplicate contact. But that's okay, it's not a big deal.

I have been with Clio 16 years; we were lured away by another program in about year 2-what a disaster! I couldn't not wait to get back to Clio after that year was up. Clio successfully migrated all my info back "home".

Clio has been an excellent extension to my family law practice. The system is very easy to use, adaptable and allows for remote work without an issue.

Pros

Clio has provided excellent access and organization to my law firm especially after utilizing other systems. It's an excellent value for the money and the customer support is terrific.

Cons

They don't have a real way to migrate to Clio from Leap, which is what I was using before. That may be a LEAP thing instead of Clio. They could also have customer service on weekends, but that's a small item.

Clio was shown to be a better product and, more importantly, less expensive.
