### "Exceptional Value."

November 4, 2020

5.0

Exceptional, professional, easy to use, easy to learn. Simply far more wonderful than I ever expected.

Pros

The time and billing program is easy to use. Keeps you on track to bill clients timely, accurately reflects you day, unbilled time as well as billed time. Highly functional. Exceptional Customer Service. This is the best decision I made in years.

Cons

I do not have any Cons about the program. I wish I used it daily in the beginning of my learning curve.

### "Clio Saves Lives"

February 14, 2023

5.0

LOVE IT! See response to first inquiry for details.

Pros

CLIO is an all-in-one practice management system for one's law firm. Clients can interface, attorneys can easily and in an organized fashion manage tasks, case documents, case notes, calendaring, etc. It is extremely user friendly and the customer service is superb.

Cons

I wish the calendar on CLIO integrated with outlook calendar such that my outlook calendar automatically syncs with my CLIO calendar.

### "Supreme Case Management Software"

January 2, 2020

5.0

Pros

Being able to keep track of clients, matters, expenses, time, documents, and everything in one program.

Cons

I have no complaints about CLIO. However, I did prefer the old interface where I had the option in the lower right corner of the screen to click and open matter that I had recently worked on.

### "Dear \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\]....where are the basic reporting functions necessary to invoice clients? "

April 21, 2022

3.0

Pros

Cloud based technology. Ease of use to input slips. But if you cant get the data put in out to clients timely it defeats the purpose of attempting to collect revenue.

Cons

Reporting functions lack crucial data located in system. No aged work in progress report available. No representative available to support individual firm business inquiries. Firms submitting Ledes files should consider alternative software.

Reason for choosing Clio

Ease of use remotely and promises of support and continued growth in adjusting technology to electronic Ledes trends.

### "My solo law practice superpower is Clio"

July 24, 2019

5.0

Clio allows our law office to be super streamlined and provide a great way for all members of our team to communicate with each other, especially our remote team members.

Pros

I love that Clio is available on my mobile phone as well as my laptop. It provides me and my team with the best tool for quick time tracking.

Cons

I would like better document and template integrations. We use Box for that.

### "Better Than Alternatives"

February 24, 2023

3.0

We use it for time and billing and trust accounting. That's it. Unfortunately, we have to use other programs for tasks, back office billing, document sharing, and email. Ugh.

Pros

Very good for invoicing and bill collection. Also very good for trust accounting.

Cons

Not good at all for task management. Only "fair" for document management. Interfacel is old and clunky. Not a DOS environment, but not modern either.

### "Allows me to have a solo paperless practice; saves time and money"

October 30, 2019

5.0

Clio has allowed me to structure my practice the way I want, solo and paperless. I have yet to find a SaaS that does not work or integrate with Clio. I can add and drop admin staff as needed easily. From the secure file sharing, to billing, to scheduling, to intake, everything is easy and intuitive.

Pros

Ease of use; value; a constantly growing list of features and improvements; easy compatibility with other software

Cons

Once you enter the Cliosphere, it seems hard to get out, although I don't think I'll ever have a need to change practice management platforms. I've already added Clio Grow to Clio Manage.

Alternatives considered

### "Best software I've used since I bought my first PC!"

April 3, 2018

5.0

Totally organizes my practice.

Pros

Ease of use in all modules. You can pick and choose what works for you. They are responsive to your needs and requests and customer service is as good as it gets in the industry. No glitches yet.

Cons

There are a couple of things I'd modify but they are not sufficiently material to complain about. Also, I'm not real good at accounting and although their billing and accounting systems are simple, they are not as simple as I am. Someone else in the office does it all easily for me.

### "Clio Review: Solo Practitioner"

January 10, 2020

5.0

Excellent. I recommend Clio to nearly all small and solo firms I come into contact with. My staff picked up on it very quickly and the product can be tailored to fit the needs of nearly any firm.

Pros

Very user-friendly and adaptable to many law firm structures. The availability and improvements in the app have been a huge benefit as well. The integrations with other programs are also key for my practice. It enables me to increase efficiencies as well as be able to have my finger on the pulse of the practice at all times. The report and data review capabilities are a must, especially in a solo practice where it is all too easy to have too much time tied up in administrative work. Customer service is excellent, and for this price point, there is not a comparable product on the market.

Cons

App is still a bit glitchy on timekeeping, even on bugs that were reported to be fixed. Sometimes contact/company organizing is a bit cumbersome.

### "Great for small law practice"

October 30, 2019

5.0

We are happy with Clio for now. As we get bigger, we will need more adaptive functionality (like revenue splits between lawyers / teams, for example). Hopefully, the product will evolve by then.

Pros

If you're a lawyer with a big firm background, you'll find Clio has most of the features of whatever law practice management software you were using before. It is fairly intuitive and easy to learn and to train people to use.

Cons

You can't do split revenue allocations, which is a problem when you want your lawyers to cross-sell each other's services.

### "Makes much of my solo practice firm admin and billing easy"

March 10, 2022

I've used Clio for years now and it lowers the admin burden quite a bit.

Pros

Cons

### "Clio Review"

December 12, 2019

5.0

Our firm has a great experience. We have a single program which manages our entire practice. The new ClioGrow program even assists with lead generation.

Pros

This is an all inclusive practice management program which has great features and several integrations. It does everything needed to operate a law practice.

Cons

There is a learning curve to implement all of the features, but most programs would have a similar situation.

### "Highly Recommend Clio"

July 16, 2023

5.0

Overall I'm glad we selected Clio. We have a very niche practice so I was concerned about the flexibility/adaptability to our practice. However, my concerns were misplaced and with the training and support we were able to make it fit nicely with our practice and has made tracking cases, issuing invoices, managing accounts receivable, etc. so much easier and quicker.

Pros

Ease of invoicing and tracking payments.

Cons

The learning curve in the beginning seemed daunting, but once I started actively using it, I found it was much more intuitive than I initially thought.

### "Clio is easy to use and effficient"

February 24, 2023

5.0

Pros

I like that Clio has a phone app where I can easily put in time when on the go, or find contacts for clients.

Cons

I think that the accounting needs help, in that I should be able to show past due accounts as past due, and be able to add interest and send reminder emails easily, but I cannot.

### "Great for Billing Employees"

July 31, 2023

4.0

Very good. The software captures exactly what a law practice really needs in order to bill clients. This is a no frills software if you are looking for something straightforward.

Pros

Clio is easy to use. I can easily track time and track it in the appropriate matter. There's nothing tricky about how to do it. Easy to learn!

Cons

The layout could be more modern and colorful. But that is not that important.

### "Superb Customer Service!"

October 18, 2019

5.0

Customer service is on point, training video's and tips are superb!

Pros

I love that you have a plethora of video's and quick tips readily available. This empowers the user to find an answer before going to a rep for help. But, I also love that your customer service reps are so very helpful, friendly, professional and efficiently answers my questions in an expeditious manner.

Cons

There are little quirks that I don't like with CLIO. For instance, the interface has to be widened quite a bit before I can view everything on the screen, forcing me to expand the size of the window so I can view all the features. This is a problem, because I often have several programs that go on at once, and I need them up to cross reference client information, account balance etc, so the ability to minimize the screen to any size in order for me to view my other applications is crucial. I have a large screen as it is, and don't want to add another monitor just so I can see everything on CLIO's dashboard.

### "Highly Recommend Clio"

December 13, 2019

5.0

I have been very happy with Clio and it seems to do literally everything I need it to.

Pros

What I like about the software is that it is mostly intuitive, but if there is something I can't figure out, the customer service is excellent. The whole system is perfect for me as a solo practitioner.

Cons

Sometimes some of the processes are not intuitive. For example, when I type in the first couple letters of a client's name to enter time in that file, I should be able to press tab to pull it up, but instead I have to go down and click on that name to have it entered.

Reason for choosing Clio

Highly recommended by other attorneys

### "Three years since deciding on Clio, I'm always glad I did."

April 18, 2019

5.0

I have had nothing but good experiences in collaborating through beta testing, giving feedback, asking for support, or just approaching Clio staff with concerns. I feel the company values my input and is always looking to make their product more useful and valuable.

Pros

Clio's flexibility and constant evolution of partnerships and integrations mean that the answer to this question can vary. That flexibility is the most valuable part of the software.

Cons

I do wish that Clio had an integrated back office feature. The connection to Quickbooks is not ideal.

### "Can't work without it!"

January 6, 2020

5.0

Clio changed my practice. I went from barely billing and collecting, to being disciplined and regular in my billing. The client's love the professional and polished look of the bills. They also like the simplicity of the invoice itself, which minimizes billing questions for me! Also, anytime, literally anytime, I have had a question or problem or simply could not remember how to accomplish a task, the support personnel have been invaluable. I have never had a bad experience with the support team!

Pros

In my practice, the best thing about Clio is the ease of entering time and managing billing. Its easy to use and so convenient with the app. Can enter time, make notes, etc. during what would normally be down time, such as sitting in court waiting for hearing to begin.

Cons

For a solo, the cost seemed a bit high, but I believe I save (and bill) at least the monthly price.

### "Time Maximizer"

July 22, 2019

4.0

Timekeeping and practice management have been completely streamlined, but I would want to improve the email communication feature within the app.

Pros

This cloud-based software gives you access to your business contacts, calendar, billing and more any time at any place. I have easily saved the money of hiring another person to help me manage my practice. You maximize your time most effectively with Clio.

Cons

The continuous updates: the fields move often and you have to relearn where your options are after each modification. Billing is cumbersome and inefficient, lacking in options to suspend printing for those clients who are in collections. Statements are not detailed enough but invoices are too large to mail out each month.
