### "Satisfied Clio user for 5+ years, recently purchased for additional firm"

September 10, 2020

4.0

I am very satisfied with Clio as an online time management option. If you want/need to be 100% in-the-cloud, I would choose and recommend this program most highly to other firms. I prefer it to Bill4Time, CosmoLex, TimeSlips (not online). It also has things I like better than Prolaw (which also is not online). I don't use many of the advanced features Clio offers like integrations, Clio payments or even calendar, tasks because of the way may firms are set up. So, I can't speak to those features.

Pros

I like Clio's simplicity and intuitiveness best. It really is the easiest time management program I have used. If you want to get up and running, like, literally, now, you can purchase Clio online with a push of a button and have open matters and clients/contact in minutes. I originally chose this product 5+ years ago for a small firm I manage, after looking at most of the online time management products on the market. I chose it specifically because it seemed the easiest in which to enter time. One of the attys I work with isn't great with a keyboard. Clio time entry required the least amount of effort, was the easiest to navigate and simplest to look at. But after using Clio, as well as, other online time management products (I manage a few small law firms), I really appreciate the easy of creating and EDITING invoices, which I do extensively at my firms. Lastly, I recently utilized Clio's FREE migration services to move from another online software, which I did not like. The migration took one hour on the phone, one day for them to migrate, and was pretty seamless! I've migrated data a few times (Prolaw and CosmoLex) and this was by FAR the easiest. The customer service is always great, even though I don't have to use it often because Clio is so simple to use.

Cons

Only 1. I haven't mastered LEDES ebililng on Clio yet. At one of my firms, we do only LEDES98 ebilling. If you don't know what this is, stop reading, you will not experience this minor Con. I am having trouble perfecting the LEDES98 txt files and uploading them. Granted, this is my first month of e-billing on Clio at this firm, so I'm sure customer service will correct it for me. It's just that a few other time management programs I have used had no LEDES glitches and uploaded perfectly the first time. The price is also high for small firms. But all online billing programs are.

Reason for choosing Clio

Simply because of ease of use of user interface (and all the other reasons stated above).

### "Start with Clio and you won't need another software"

January 20, 2023

5.0

I would recommend Clio to any legal professional and firm. It's worth the price for all the features and management you have at your fingertips, and given that it's cloud based, you can't find any other software with everything Clio has to offer. The minor areas where they can improve are not large enough to keep me from using the software. They constantly update the software and implement client suggested changes to improve the software, so it's a great investment for yourself and your practice.

Pros

Clio is the best legal software platform out there. It offers all the features you need to manage a client and/or case. From document management, time tracking, billing to clients, integrations with other programs (such as LawYaw (a MUST), e-filing software, email platforms, MSFT Teams, calendars, etc.), secure communications, portal for clients, and it offers the best online payment options with flat percentage and fees so you can manage client payments easily.

Cons

Clio is great all around, but there are a few minor improvements that can be done in the billing and reporting features. The billing feature is great, but minor areas where it can improve, for example, would be the ability to see at-a-glance trust amounts before applying payments. There are a few personal reports that would be nice to include, however, they offer many reports that I use frequently.

Fantastic....13 years and counting

Pros

I have enjoyed growing with CLIO since 2011 (13 years!). I feel that sometimes our suggestions have been implemented. I love that it is constantly evolving with improvements to make things more functional and every step of the way, we try to implement using those new tools in our business to streamline our processes and make us more efficient and ultimately earn more.

Cons

\- there should be a way to adust CLIO pay to only allow e-check or to recapture credit card fees without confusing the client on how much they need to pay on their bill.- would like to see more integration with attaching documents to tasks or trial notices for ease of reference

### "Great all around product with open API"

February 24, 2023

5.0

Clio has been great and this is likely the last case management software we will ever use.

Pros

There is no such thing as a perfect legal case management software. There is nothing that is going to do everything the way you want it and Clio is no different. However, clio has numerous thrid party integrations. If this software doesn't do something there is probably something else out there that will fill in the gaps. However, what really makes clio great is its easy to use Open API. I have a saying with automation. Where there is a will there is a way and this API makes that possible. If there is something you want to have done or want to automate Clio's open API makes it possible.

Cons

There reporting could use some work although they have made some improvements. Some of their bigger improvements can take a lot of time. However, there are always making consistent and regular improvements. It does seem like at times they will make a partial release but complete release or complete functionality can take a back seat.

There were MANY improvements that were needed to the product but they were slow to update and there were a lot of integrations and features missing. I switched to clio because I knew I could get it to do what I wanted within reason by use of integrations and their open API.

### "A great billing software for my increasingly virtual legal practice"

April 13, 2022

4.0

Good software! I find it an indispensable part of my practice these days.

Pros

Our firm had used Timeslips for timekeeping and billing in the past before switching to Clio a few years ago. Timeslips was simply outdated and cumbersome, not to mention that we had no tech support. After having switched to using Clio, I was able to use the software to email clients directly and have the emails come from our firm email account via Clio without always having to involve the office manager for billing my invoices. If the clients have questions, they will know to direct their questions to the office manager, who is otherwise in charge of general accounting matters. Additionally, I love that I can always reach out to Clio's tech support for answers as to user issues or questions, and the services have always been pretty prompt and spot-on.

Cons

I remember there were some data migration issues when we transitioned from Timeslips to Clio. It has been a while, but I recall that at least some of the client data like their addresses didn't look quite right when it was pulled over, and I basically had to start over with entering the information in Clio.

Reason for choosing Clio

The firm as a whole had evaluated Clio and at least a partner in the firm as well as our office manager went through some training initially to become better acquainted. The firm made a decision to switch, and everyone agreed that the software was a better product than our previous billing software.

Switched from

[Sage Timeslips](https://www.capterra.com/p/114210/Sage-Timeslips/)

Our firm licenses were expiring, and there was a decision that needed to be made as to whether to spend money to renew or to switch to a different software. I am happy that we ended up switching.

### "The Future of Cloud Computing in the Legal Industry"

December 3, 2019

5.0

Clio has been really helpful organizing a small solo practice and getting that attorney up and running, and then expanding their practice accordingly. It's a great, central location for file management, and being able to use Quickbooks and Clio for billing is spectacular. Clio's client support is stellar, and that is worth a LOT when it comes to case management. Overall, Clio is an excellent choice, and even with my complaints, I do believe it is the standard for the future.

Pros

I really do believe that Clio is the future of legal cloud computing and practice/file management. It's a functional piece of software that allows attorneys and legal staff to manage cases with ease. There are a few things that I find to be useful with Clio: 1. Clio integrates with tons of other software options, including Grow (a CRM management tool). Keeping things "in the family" is really useful and speeds up management. 2. Clio's billing functionality is really nice. It's one of the more functional back end management tools I've seen, and I really like the way it works. You can integrate it with Quickbooks for easy accounting, which we really appreciate and which looks great on the user end (for clients, when they receive bills). 3. Clio sports a really professional interface, which just looks nice when you're working. It looks grown up and sleek, so if someone peeks over your shoulder or you're working while in the vicinity of clients, it doesn't have a preschool feeling to it. 4. Most important - Clio's customer support is incredible. Have an issue? There are videos you can watch, or people you can talk to. They will literally stay on the phone with you for hours as you troubleshoot issues together, or learn something new. Top notch, seriously.

Cons

I do have a few gripes about Clio. If these were addressed, it would get a 5-star rating from me: 1. Mouseclicks. Clio requires so. many. mouseclicks. It is infuriating at times. I realize this sounds stupid, but over time, they add up. I am a huge fan of efficiency, and Clio is one of the most inefficient programs I've used. 2. Workflows. I really enjoy using workflows to track various projects. Clio sucks at workflows. A complete rework of how they approach them, and how they look for interface with the staff who are responsible for executing, would go a LONG WAY toward making Clio a more useful application. I think workflows are really the topic that causes Clio to lag behind other software out on the market. I would like to see something in place that allows a user to create a workflow, move tasks around in the list, add subtasks to tasks, and assign triggering dates, secondary dates, etc. It would also be useful to be able to assign various tasks to various users. Until that's in place, I'll be sad about using Clio. 3. A central location for performing various functions. Clio does have a left-hand toolbar that allows you to do SOME things, but not ALL things. It would be good if, from the left-hand menu, I could do each discrete thing that I can do in Clio by clicking a mouse a zillion times. Once that happens, I'll be happier. 4. Document management. I'm out of room, but it is not idea. Too much downloading/uploading. Dropbox is better (for collaborati

### "Clio saved us from MyCase"

July 1, 2023

5.0

We love the ability to actively use our contacts to engage new business opportunities. We also feel quite assured that all matters are proceeding accordingly as we are able to monitor them from a high level to ensure substantial progress.

Pros

The best thing about Clio is that they're not MyCase. They are a breath of fresh air. We were engaged in the misery of MyCase when Clio announced an informative dinner in our area. We went and were amazed by the functionality of their software. We were actually a bit aggressive with Clio as we were having such a bad time with MyCase. They managed to keep us calm and in doing so found themselves a new client. We spent the next month setting up Clio and found ourselves up and running thereafter. We detailed each monumental failure with MyCase and the support staff at Clio were astonished and assured us that they do not act like that. True to their word, the Clio staff was professional and could not have been easier to work with. The first couple of days seemed a bit shaky like we were kids with our first two-wheeled bike but after a brief learning curve, we were up and running. Any issues we had were ably resolved by Clio and we were quite thankful for the number and quality of the support staff. The days of putting a call in and waiting for a call back are over. They are a shining star in a world now devoid of customer service.

Cons

I haven't found anything I don't like about Clio yet.

### "Excellent Tool for a Solo/Small Law Office"

February 24, 2023

5.0

My experience has been good. Clio is never an impediment to productivity; its more like a helpful assistant that holds my information, knows where to find it, reminds me to do what I said I would do, and makes it easy to bill and collect money.

Pros

The Clio team helped me transfer data from my old billing program. Transition was seamless and painless. Clio is intuitive to use. As a solo practitioner I have neither the time for nor interest in hours of admin activity every week. Clio lets me track my work as I go, and provides the framework for organizing information about my clients and cases. At the end of the month I spend only about 2 hours reviewing and sending out bills.

Cons

More flexible report options would be helpful, particularly regarding A/R.

Switched from

[Amicus Attorney](https://www.capterra.com/p/80199/Amicus-Attorney/)

1\. Easier edits in Clio. 2. Amicus wouldn't allow me to print directly to my printer (what a pain!). 3. Difficult to get help; had to pay an "expert" for technical support. 4. Wanted the web-based functionality of Clio.

### "clio law DATA management"

May 28, 2020

5.0

Support easy super good. Clio fixed problems with non english characters in days, Timemattes did not fix it in 20 years we have been complaining. Clio has extremely good search features and all sorts of filtering. For instance universal search that goes through matters, contacts, events, notes, tasks, time/expenses logs, documents content, doc, names, and communications (emails, sec. mess, phone log). clio portal for clients, e sign easy to make form-documents connects to IP phone etc. Faster law is a must I would say. To make a great package even better we subscribed also to Faster Law which has done a fantastic add on to Clio. There you get tools to capture your time automatically, the programs keeps track on how long you spend working on case files, e mails etc. in different cases and suggests billable time for that. There is a lot more like file handling, better way to link e mails, save and link attachments and files, you can explore your files on Clio’s serves in you file explorer.

Pros

For us the program has changed everything in the workflow to the better. In our opinion Clio’s forte is how flexible it is. Every law firm has its own different way of organizing workflow and Clio can accommodate for that, at least our whims and quirks which we have abundant of. The program is like potty in your hand. You mold and sculp the program according to your own special needs in the workflow. The only barrier is your own imagination. You decide how information is inserted, in what order and form and how it is presented. You make your own work procedures. You can organize and make chains of tasks beforehand and set the relevant type of chain of tasks to fit the case you are working on. Then, there and now, the future workflow is decided and set for that case.

Cons

You can not copy matters/cases and clients. It is not easy to move data fram TM to clio. We decided not to to it. Integration between outlook calander and clio calander does not work, it is so slow it is not usable. But the integration between google cal and clio cal is excellent.

### "Clio Review"

June 24, 2019

4.0

My overall experience has been positive. There are plenty of resources for day to day activities and for more complex matters the live support has been indispensable. I find it easy to navigate and learn.

Pros

Initially it was a better system overall than the systems we were trying to make fit our needs (Timeslips and Sharepoint). Subsequently, the updates that are implemented by the development team when there is an obvious need or lack identified.

Cons

I did not like that the billing of outstanding balances was not automated during billing runs to capture all outstanding balances so anyone who does not have a current bill still gets a bill when I do not enter a start time as a filter option. I also do not like that I have to clean up so much on the Quickbooks Online end of a Retainer transfer, especially after a billing run when its many clients at once, it creates a lot of work in the Retainer in Trust register in QBO.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Clio

Price difference I believe, but I honestly don't remember if there were other reasons as well.

Switched from

[Sage Timeslips](https://www.capterra.com/p/114210/Sage-Timeslips/)

In Timesplips we were having trouble with transfers and keeping track of the data that was not integrating into Quickbooks Desktop smoothly. We also wanted to switch to QBO but they do not integrate. There were system failures that created "broken AR's". The customer service was never immediate, I've spent many hours on hold or on the phone with someone who did not seem to care. It seemed like there was always something that would come up and the customer support was so bad that I would rather try to fix the problem myself or ignore the problem(unless it was timely) until I couldn't anymore. We only started using Sharepoint because Timeslips did not have an office management aspect of the software and it was not economical nor easy to set up, we ended up spending more money on a Sharepoint technician than a year subscription to Clio.

### "Clio - A Necessary Application for Law Firms"

April 11, 2023

5.0

Pros

Clio makes it easy to manage a case beginning to end. All of the client information is contained in one place. We can work on documents right in Clio and share documents to the client through the Clio Portal. Clients can safely upload their documents to us via the portal. We can communicate with clients through the portal or text messaging right in Clio. The Clio Support team is very helpful and has taken our enhancement requests back, some of which have already been implemented. We are able to keep everyone at the firm on track by using the task feature of Clio. There is no more wondering what is happening in a case because everything is tracking and tasked.

Cons

Our clients pay a monthly payment until their flat fee is paid in full. My current enhancement request is for Clio to have payment plan details written out on the client invoice. Currently we have to type this information out in the footer notes.

Switched from

[8am MyCase](https://www.capterra.com/p/115613/MyCase/)

We switched from MyCase to Clio because the MyCase account manager lied to me about our plan. My state is a one party state so I recorded the conversation and agreement on our plan. When we got our bill, it was vastly different. We had proof of a lie and breach of verbal contract. MyCase refunded us and we moved everything to Clio. I don't do business with liars.

### "Initially very promising, but recently quickly deteriorating"

November 12, 2020

3.0

(Continued from above) so, the report may say $X, but one would have no idea whether that is for 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, 10 years - you get the picture. I have been raising this issues for a long time now and was today told that it may never be fixed. This is but one example of a clear failure to even understand the topic and the issue at hand. Clio was not like this before, so I suspect that something has changed at the company. Perhaps critical people leaving (and I have noticed that some people have left), perhaps financial difficulties, perhaps something else. Overall, if I was asked a year ago about Clio, I would wholeheartedly recommend it. Currently, it would only be prudent to recommend to avoid it, at least until the situation at Clio changes, if it does change.

Pros

Clio could be, and indeed was for a long time, a fairly good and overall well featured application. As with any application, it did not have everything covered, but was slowly improving and adding features. In other words, it was a decent application that was getting better.

Cons

As of few months ago, Clio, put simply, started going backwards, and fast. Features that existed for years and worked perfectly, were either intentionally removed or broken and no longer worked. The number of bugs has increased exponentially. I used to discover a bug once every few months in the past. These days, almost every day I have to report new bugs or follow up on the existing and unresolved ones. In the past, any reported issues were addressed and resolved quickly. Now, you still get emails in response, but the emails are more of the scripted/lip service type and most issues do not get resolved at all, including critical issues relating to basic features that used to work fine in the past. As I am not an insider to Clio, I am not sure what the reason is, but from many recent interactions with Clio support and their answer, it seems to me that there is no one at Clio who has their hand on the pulse or any control over the "technical team" or the "development team". From responses I get, it sounds like the "developers" run the place and if they do not think that something is important, it will not get done or fixed. To give you a concrete example, an important financial report was working fine in the past and, as one would expect, it was showing the period to which the report relates. Some months ago, when "updating" that report to a "new" report, they removed the period of the report field, so, believe it or not, the report now does not show which period it relates to

Reason for choosing Clio

Clio seemed simpler, easier and more promising than other applications considered.

### "A must have for solos and start ups"

September 13, 2022

5.0

Clio has allowed me to track deadlines and interface with clients so much more efficiently than I was able to do in my old practice with less sophisticated tools. I am now starting to integrate the features in Clio Grow to better communicate with clients and automate parts of my practice.

Pros

Clio made starting my own solo practice so much more efficient. Having all of my functionality in a single product was so helpful starting out and continues to be incredibly useful. I can expand and contract users as needed while my practice grows, which is important for solos and startups who want to me mindful of cost. Clio is worth every penny and like having a team of staff when I was just starting out.

Cons

There are not too many things I don't love about Clio Manage. I would like to be able to customize a little more and to be able to create text snippets across the organization to standardize some billing activities. Over the nearly two years I've been using Clio I've noticed program updates to address my earlier pain points, so it seems the development team takes feedback from users and is constantly improving the product. One such example is the ability to send invoices to all recipients in a single email which had a big positive effect for me when it rolled out.

Reason for choosing Clio

The flexibility and customization I was able to see during my free trial.

### "serious business problems treated like everyday problems by customer service - not timely resolved"

January 24, 2023

4.0

My experience with CLIO was fine until I actually had problems with the software that were negatively impacting my business and practice. They have been taking weeks to help me resolve these. And, I have to call them repeatedly and ride them to get any movement on getting them to help me resolve these very serious business and professional ethic problems. Because of this I am seriously considering going through all the trouble of switching to another provider like MyCase.

Pros

It being cloud-based and the app for my phone

Cons

Clio Payments is very problematic. CLIO Payments has been holding client payments that the clients authorized to be deposited into an attorney trust account. When the bank that the deposits were directed to refused to received them - CLIO did not refund them. I requested that the refund the clients since the money cannot go into that trust account b/c of issues with the bank. CLIO Payments says that it cannot refund money deposited to a trust account despite the fact that they have never deposited those funds into any trust account. CLIO Payments has taken possession of the client funds and will not release them or refund them back to the clients. This is a HUGE professional ethics problem for an attorney. They are oblivious and do not care about the impossible situation they are perpetuating for my business. Maybe they are making money on that money while they are holding it where it cannot be accessed and used for the client's benefit. DO NOT USE CLIO Payments - use LAWPAY.

### "Clio is the best option for a solo or small firm law practice"

November 4, 2019

5.0

After 3 years, I am still working at discarding habits and practices built up over 25 years as a practicing attorney to better incorporate Clio's feature into my daily work flow. One of Clio's driving philosophy's is to make lawyers more productive with their time, and make lawyers services more accessible to persons that need legal advice. Clio's focus on providing multiple access points, including mobile apps designed from the ground up with these two goals in mind, will pay off for both Clio and my practice in the long run.

Pros

The Clio platform is not intended to be a closed, proprietary system. Instead, it forms the foundation for the day to day management of leads, clients, time, documents, and billing, supplemented by almost 200 third party integrations, with new offerings coming on line each month. Clio offers unlimited cloud storage and IOS/Android apps making all of your firm information, clients, and documents available 24/7. Clio continues to innovate and as the leading provider to small/medium law firms throughout the world, I don't worry about whether they will be in business a few years from now. Finally, all, yes all, of your data saved in Clio is easily exportable should you decide to change to a different vendor.

Cons

Clio's growth means that feature changes must be more fully vetted as they are used by more than 150,000 legal professionals. As they broaden their perspective to encompass larger firms, the pace of change may continue to be more deliberate. The movement and management of files without a third party integration, such as FasterLaw, is cumbersome. Clio's own integrations with Office365 for emails and calendaring remain a work in progress.

### "Intuitive and Flexible"

December 5, 2022

4.0

I am happy with Clio and the support they provide. It's helped keep the firm, as well as our third-party answering service, organized and consistent.

Pros

The ability to integrate other software enable using other software to address aspects of Clio which are good, but not great. As an example, Clio Management's task management is good, but there is not a kanban or gantt feature, but I can easily integrate with Asana, Monday.com, etc.

Cons

Some aspects address needs in a basic manner, but are not as robust as software which is specifically designed for a single purpose. Using the same example as mentioned in the "Pros" - the task management works and can be automated, but it does not have highly specific features such as kanban or gantt.Additionally, the syncing between Clio Grow and Clio Manage could improve. The two do not sync completely - certain items (ex. emails, I believe) do not sync.Lastly, when trying to export specific sets of data, Clio is time-consuming. We had an attorney who left our firm, and providing her the information from her clients required going to each client and selecting "export" for each aspect of the clients' data (such as, emails, documents, contacts, transactions, etc.)

Cosmolex is not intuitive. It took a long time for me to become comfortable with the system, and it was not worth the time and energy for getting additional people up to speedMyCase was more intuitive, but lacked integrations which could have enabled better automation than MyCase had.

### "I've used Clio Manage for 6+ Years and Clio Grow for 2+ Years"

August 23, 2022

4.0

I've used Clio since opening my own firm. Overall, I'm happy with their products and feel confident that I can get "at a glance" information on my active cases as well as my leads quickly. And, I can dive deeper into any particular matter or contact easily. I do wish they were a bit more tailored to small/solo firm practice - particularly in terms of the time investment in set-up and cost per license.

Pros

Clio offers nearly comprehensive lead and case management services. Their support staff is responsive and if you engage them in a conversation about your firm's needs - they are eager to listen & learn. Since I began using it, Clio has steadily widened their offerings that are real value-adds. Their annual conference is a great networking & learning event.

Cons

Both products, but Grow especially, are very time-consuming in the initial set-up phase. Both products could be more robust for practice areas that don't involve litigation. Their support staff is readily available but in my experience can only assist in solving my issue about 10% of the time. Often some features I view as key are not available and it's hard to determine how the upvoting process of feature requests actually works. The pricing structure is frustrating and could benefit from adding a different tier for restricted or limited users (like paralegals and admins). While all the features and new additions are nice, as a solo practice attorney I often find myself unable to take advantage of them due to the time involved in learning about & implementing them.

### "Clio Payments is a bad business decision "

March 5, 2023

1.0

Overall Clio has been great except lately with this huge problem I’m having with collecting client payments timely and also that Clio is giving my firm contact info out to all its third party providers. I’m getting frequent sales solicitations about Clio product integrations, by email and phone calls. Not happy about more solicitations and don’t see any way of stopping Clio from encouraging its partners from calling and emailing my firm (wasting resources).

Pros

Easy to switch from LawPay. Integrated easily with Clio (but so did LawPay). Supposedly lower fees.

Cons

Terrible turn around time for payments by credit card. 5-7 days! No explanation or customer service for the delays in processing time. Very difficult to switch back to LawPay - they make you schedule an appointment to talk to someone who takes your time to tell you how difficult it is to switch back to LawPay, plus they want you to cancel all your pending payments, which they didn’t require when switching from LawPay to Clio. No regular reporting or monthly statements - you have to figure out the reports on your own and calculate the fees charged yourself and download the transaction history periodically. The fees are deducted first before payments are made, which skews the income tracking for accounting purposes. I.e., the client payments from bills don’t match the bill amount. The customer service representatives have no power and don’t seem to care one way or another, though the sales reps cared about switching you over to Clio payments! Is Clio changing from a great company with real people who are concerned with helping law practices succeed to a mammoth company just concerned with its own bottom line? It’s starting to seem that way.

Response from Clio

March 13, 2023

Hi Dess, Thank you for taking the time to detail your experience. A Support Specialist has reached out to talk through your concerns in more depth and hopefully resolve them for you. In the meantime, here is some additional information regarding your feedback. 1. We do not share our customers' contact information with third-party providers. We also strive to only communicate relevant, useful information to our customers. That said, we've clearly missed the mark here and would like to work with you to adjust your communication subscriptions. 2. Clio Payments and LawPay have the same processing times. For both products, you'll typically see credit card payments processed in 1-2 business days\*. Here are some resources: - \*Clio Payments Credit Card Processing Times: https://support.clio.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409104905115-How-Long-Do-Credit-Card-Payments-Take-to-Process-with-Clio-Payments - LawPay Credit Card Processing Times: https://supportcenter.lawpay.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034332251-Credit-card-processing-times 3. With Clio Payments, you have the option to get your transaction fees deducted in one lump sum each month, the same as with LawPay. Here are instructions but our Associate Solutions Specialist would also be happy to adjust that for you: https://help.clio.com/hc/en-us/articles/9285813698075-Clio-Payments-Fee-Schedules Overall, we want you to know that we care deeply about the success of each of our customers. And we do not intend to make any of your requests more difficult than they need to be. We look forward to speaking with you and utilizing your feedback in our continued endeavour to provide the best-in-class service.

### "Clio Practice Management is the Best"

August 18, 2022

5.0

Pros

Clio offers features necessary for practice management and operation right out of the box; then goes a step further by offering an integration ecosystem that makes it an indispensable part of a successful practice.

Cons

While Clio offers the minimum viable environment for online practice, the rapid growth of the company has left gaps and subtle shortcomings that veteran users will notice, while new users will be dazzled by the way it changes their practice.

### "Clio's billing system"

November 15, 2019

5.0

Overall, our experience with Clio's billing system has been positive - everyone likes the time entry. We are glad we went to Clio, its so much better than that other program we had been using.

Pros

We got Clio specifically for its billing program. Its great that everyone can enter their own time into Clio. I like how Clio does “macros” \[they call them “text snippets”\]. They work without having to use a code key. The software is easy to use – for someone like me who is not a bookkeeper and hasn’t done a lot of billing before, it takes a little while to learn how to use it correctly, but once you know how things work, it’s a breeze. The very best thing about Clio, though, is its support staff! They are all great – it doesn’t matter who I’ve talked to they are all quick at getting to the root of my problem and showing me how to fix it. I have called other companies asking questions about their software and sometimes you just don’t believe what they tell you. It has never been that way with Clio – every one of their support staff is very knowledgeable and can quickly set you straight! Also, Clio is open to suggestions from us and when they get a certain amount of inquiries asking if “they could change this or that”, they will work on it. We have been using Clio for 2 years next month and there are a couple of things they have implemented that we had requested, which is really cool!

Cons

Spell checking in the billing software is not what it could be – it does have the little red underlines if it thinks something is misspelled \[like Word\], which apparently is easy for some people to ignore. It would be better if Clio had its own dictionary and didn’t depend on the one in the browser. In order to do spell checks, we have to: export the time to a CSV file, spread out the column for the description, run a spell check and remember not to correct the errors there, but go back and find each entry in Clio and correct them there. It’s a little time consuming, and depending on how many typos each person makes during the month, it can be very time consuming, but its much better than reading the draft invoices word for word and finding the errors that way. It would be great if Clio could add spell checking so that it can be run in Clio without having to export and go back and forth. The only other “con” we have with Clio’s billing system is with discounting invoices. It is very easy to discount an invoice by percentage or a dollar amount, but Clio only applies discounts on the total amount of the invoice, including client expenses, not on time spent only, so we usually put in a dollar amount so the discount comes out to the amount we want it to be , although Clio still applies that amount to the entire invoice.

Reason for choosing Clio

Any other products never had a chance!

### "Clio Keeps our Firm Running"

August 23, 2022

5.0

Clio allowed us to quickly get our law firm up and running. Since the start, Clio has allowed us to run our firm from anywhere in the world. Clio's integration with other platforms - like Quickbooks - has made it so easy to run a tech-forward law firm where all our technology speak to each other and get along! Clio is the best!

Pros

Clio is the cornerstone that keeps our practice running. It is easy to use and easy to have all your data and information in one place. Clio's other amazing aspect is the number of other legal technology that directly integrates with Clio with ease! Clio has allowed us to be a tech-focused law firm and can handle more cases than we ever expected.

Cons

My only critique is that in Clio Grow, I would like to see formatting in the documents

### "Still in Love! "

March 19, 2026

5.0

I am still drawn to Clio that possesses rich case management features but definitely a more interactive adoption of user suggestions and expansion definitely of its reports is needed.

Pros

Taking into consideration the word "Overall" - the Clio experience has been good. We experienced some minor hiccups in customer service this month, March 2026 which was resolved by escalation. The issue could have been quickly resolved had the representative looked at the issue commonsensically but it was a painful experience BUT one that was resolved. Resolution is the Goal right?

Cons

Thinking outside the box with some customer service representatives; I feel they should indeed lead to "opening the eyes" of the user with their insights.

### "Effective Product"

June 8, 2023

5.0

So far its been a good experience. It is much more user friendly than the last management software we were using.

Pros

The ease of use if the thing I like best about Clio. Its very easy to navigate and figure out how to do something you might not have come across yet.

Cons

The thing I like least about Clio is that it does not work well with QuickBooks. The expense entries do not import from QuickBooks separately, but all as one entry. Very annoying and time consuming to fix.

### "Clio is Essential to My Practice"

September 13, 2022

5.0

Pros

I have been a longtime user of Clio and cannot imagine what my practice would be without it. It is hard to state what is most valuable: having access to all of my client's information at the touch of a button, or the ability to store and retrieve documents remotely from any location, or the secure feeling of knowing that all of my information is secure, or is it knowing that if I have any questions that the technical support is top notch? Perhaps it is just that the staff at Clio are some of the nicest people I have worked with from the sales and support team to the upper management.

Cons

If I had to find a "Con" about Clio it would have to be that there are so many features and so many things that it can do that I just cannot imagine ever being able to utilize it to its full potential!

Reason for choosing Clio

I chose Clio primarily because of its interface and operational abilities.

### "Trial Law Firm Uses Clio Because It Works"

November 4, 2022

5.0

The company and the software have been great to work with. In 8 years, we have had zero issues. ClioCon is worth the time and investment to attend.

Pros

It is easy to use with intuitive features.

Cons

Not being able to reconcile bank accounts and close the year out. Also, I wish there was a tighter experience with Office365 to that we don't have to reconnect and reauthenticate the email plugin in Outlook.

Reason for choosing Clio

Because there were many integration options to pull data and store it in one location.
