### "The "New" Clip"

We are limping along. Solving problems we be an understatement. However, customer support is good and concise.

Pros

I'm trying to come up with something. For instance, I cannot proceed to the next page even now.

Cons

The "blue screen" is horrific on the eyes! Clip is slowww….and no, it's not our internet. We changed that over in hopes but doing so made a minimal difference with Clip. I sincerely dislike how, when you click on a job and are waiting for the blue screen to clear, the screen returns to the top of the page, not the job you wish to edit. So, more scrolling. Not user eye friendly and headache inducing. Why can jobs not be put into alphabetical order as well?

We have had clip for over 10 years and all they care about anymore is money. They have never cared about their customers. Find a different program for your own mental health.

Pros

It gives you the information you need once you figure out how to find it.

Cons

Never lets you know of updates, price increases, or changes. Reports are not user friendly.

When running a mid size landscape company, my job was to run the routes and make sure the crews were efficient. That was my main job focus. CLIP was excellent at cutting losses and increasing profits on paper but we realized that guys were manipulating start and stop times, forgetting to start jobs, etc. I no longer use it for my small landscape company as it does way more than a single owner/operator needs.

Pros

Ease of tracking routes and scheduling crews. It is very detailed on user performance if it is being used properly. If measurements or job start/stop times are off then the data is useless.

Cons

It is very information hungry. You almost need an employee whose only job scope is entering in information to CLIP. If it's all entered correctly it can be very helpful but it can also be a headache when you need to move through the input quickly. Lots of multiple clicks, waiting to reload, changing the same thing on three screens, etc.

Pros

The easy layout and format. It is easier to teach to new employees on your own, because it is has a user friendly format.

Cons

The glitches and how often it crashes. If you don't do things a very specific way, it can get frustrating.

Great customer service, easy enough for my guys in field to manage the application

Pros

like the ease and conveince of adding work to smart phones & making my paper less

Cons

dont like how I cant edit a payment or add a credit to an account, I end up issuing a credit & paying sales tax along with income tax for the amount I never collected. I would also like to be able to e-mail customers right from their account.

Our overall experience has been great. It has stepped up our job recording and we can easily look back at our history.

Pros

Customer support answers quickly and simply to help solve problems. We are able to record our job progress and scheduling to be able to look back for ease of billing and future forecasting.

Cons

Rescheduling mow clients due to rain delays can be a bit awkward. It would help if an entire block of customers could be moved to another day and integrated with that next days clients instead of moving one by one.

It does add overall value, it just takes some time to adjust

Pros

I like the variable scheduling option. In my opinion, no one does this better than clip.

Cons

I do not like the updating in regard to variable scheduling. I also do not like the customer service when it comes to training and videos - LMN is much more focused on this and it works...

As an example...Issues getting reports for a crew for a specific period of time. Seems we have been part of development since the conversion in July 2017

Pros

We were prior users of the desktop version and were excited about moving to online functionality to add the crew application. that is still the case today, Although there are glitches that come up that make it difficult to navigate sometimes

Cons

It has been glitchy in the past with time outs and sales tax issues on billing.

We have enjoyed working with clip. Since we have transitioned over to the Cloud version it has been smoother. We hope that the mobile app for any phones will be accessible soon.

it works well with our programs we use for our customers

The mobile app for I-Phones so we can log in to get gate code etc.

The XE used to speed up things around here... ITC is another story. And I can't tell much since it never works.

Cons

Doesn't work.. My customer balance, history... it's a mess Most of the time it doesn't... There is a population of gremlins living inside, I guess. When we think we kill one... it comes back.

Its a relatively easy was to do professional routing

Customers disappear. After adding a new property it rocket science to get it to actually show up where you want it to.

Keeping track of daily jobs and site tasks is easier

Pros

Integrates with QB, makes recurring jobs a breeze to schedule and is laid out pretty well. Use of mobile app to record work.

Cons

Some glitching that occurs, unable to send mass emails to all clients other than topics built into program. Use of mobile app to get work would be helpful as well recording work.

I feel like I need a week long course to learn the software. Internet based software is not always the best solution.

Pros

That I do not have to do my own back ups.

Cons

A little hard to navigate. The older version that I had was more user friendly. A lot of extras that aren’t needed in my case and can’t eliminate them to the background.

After thorough research, my medium sized lawn spray and fertilizing company decided to upgrade to Clip software. I loved everything they had to offer...but they never came through. We bought their routing program...two months later they cancelled it ($250 down the drain). They made a huge update first of the year (without telling anyone) and it had a HUGE number of bugs which took one of my staff almost a month to work thorugh (I don't even want to think about how much THAT cost me). Even though I paid more for the desktop version less than a year ago, they just move everything into the cloud (again...without telling anyone). This program may work in some situations, but my advice is to KEEP LOOKING!!

Hannah, I am sorry to hear about your experience. We didn't actually offer any mapping software, we connected to Microsoft Map point which Microsoft discontinued. You can still use it with CLIPxe if you own it. We are working on our own software for routing instead of relying on Microsoft Map point. Our support is included in all of the versions that we currently sell, we used to sell a version of our software that didn't provide unlimited support, but that is no longer the case. I'm sorry that CLIP didn't work out for you, let me know if there is anything we can do to help you in the future!

Automatic scheduling and billing with quickbooks

Cons

Difficult to learn how to use. Took me a couple months before I was comfortable with it. Much of that just comes from all the features the software offers which is nice

We have been using CLIP for our Landscaping Company for several years now. We are a mid sized Landscaping company offering Maintenance, Landscaping, Irrigation, and Lighting out of Charleston, SC. Overall CLIP has been an excellent software we use for scheduling Maintenance, Landscaping Projects, Irrigation and Lighting Projects and repair scheduling, and Project management. CLIP has been a good fit for the many various aspects of our business. Experiencing rapid growth over the past year our company has created numerous new Management positions as well as constant changes resulting in the need to develop new policies and systems on how we manage our workload. We have found the Technical Support Department to be invaluable as we change and grow and they have been essential in our efforts to find better ways to utilize CLIP in our growing company. There may be other software programs out there that would meet our needs, however, I cannot imagine they would have the level of customer service that is essential to our success. The ability to talk to a live person who is knowledgeable on CLIP and able to assist us in overcoming our obstacles we face as we grow has been a major advantage for us. CLIP has been integral in our growth and success as a company and we strongly recommend them.

It is not easy to do invoicing. Also scheduling and printing out route sheets was not good. We had to switch to a different landscaping software.
