Pros

  • Our selection of Invest for Excel was primarily due to its outstanding integration with existing Excel based financial models, as well as its corporate financial analysis emphasis.

  • A great tool for financial modeling im working on. Saves time and allows focusing on more important things like sensitivity analyses instead of manually calculating FCFs.

  • Good support team, reactive. Structured way to present investment calculation and cash flows and compare investment opportunities.

Cons

  • It can affected by power cut meaning it cannot be presented without electricity. Increases chances of cyber attack from the outside competitors.

  • Loading of the software takes a lot of time - this "problem" may be linked with my own laptops' processing capacity.

  • At first the layout seems quite messy, and needs some time to get familiar with. Some limitations e.g. with selecting the detailed calculation point.

"the best software for financial analysis"

Overall: No errors in the calculation. Quick financial analysis. Professional reports.

Pros: Ease of use. Professional reports. Speed in the analysis. Many languages. Easy to do analytical and projection charts.

Cons: The program could add more profitability indicators - NPVR, MNPV, MPI and an additional report with calculated break-even points and safety margins.

"Introducing Excel Based for Analysis Effective"

Overall: Working with Invest for Excel has greatly improved our ability to perform credit risk analysis for ICBC. The software’s powerful calculation engine easily bites off the toughest financial models and the intuitive interface helps users adjust variables instantly to see results. Our selection of Invest for Excel was primarily due to its outstanding integration with existing Excel based financial models, as well as its corporate financial analysis emphasis. With the ability to perform complex scenario analysis in an easy-to-handle, familiar Excel format, the software was a natural choice for our credit risk department.

Pros: A lot of the modeling capabilities in Invest for Excel are advanced; it really distinguishes itself in how credit risk analysts can create complex, multiple variable economic scenarios with greater detail than ever before. While the software is integrated with Excel, so much of which is familiar, it also provides specialized financial analysis tools.

Cons: - Few options for building templates for reports - Streamlining integration with external data sources could be easier -The real time collaboration needs enhancement.

Switched From: Crystal Ball
Reasons for Switching to Invest for Excel: For financial analysis, we switched from Crystal Ball by Oracle, which had no specific features. Crystal Ball was a good general simulation tool, but Invest for Excel enabled us to do more specialized credit risk analysis and integrate these with our existing financial models better.

"Lots of functionality, but also possible to use in a simple way"

Pros: Easy to make investment calculations and cash flow analysis. There are lots of different functionalities in the software, but it can also be used in a straightforward simple way; when needed more details the whole P&L and BS can be simulated.

Cons: At first the layout seems quite messy, and needs some time to get familiar with. Some limitations e.g. with selecting the detailed calculation point.
