### "Finally app instead of web page"

April 30, 2019

5.0

Pros

Using 'old school' app instead of a web page/application for business software feels more natural to me. Like it!

Cons

As with the other "business software" you have to learn how to use it with your process.

### "Complex, but better than competitors"

June 29, 2021

5.0

All our client management, including automated workflow and communications, are done in one place - whether it's enquiry management, bookings, emails, text messages, follow-up and feedback, quoting, invoicing - we do it all in LightBlue. I operate with wedding clients and commercial and have different contracts, workflows, and comms, and that's all easy to separate and manage in LightBlue.

Pros

LightBlue houses all photography client management in one box, along with finance and resource tracking, inventory, etc. The system is almost totally customisable and can be used as detailed as needed.

Cons

It is complex and daunting at first. When you install LightBlue it looks hard to use vs the competition. However, a quick video call with their support team has you up and running and knowledgable in about 2 hours.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Light Blue

Light Blue support swung it for us. They're UK-based and available at the drop of a hat AND are all photographers themselves.

Studio Ninja cost extra for multiple support and was not designed for use with commercial clients.

### "We use this software to keep the team updated on client inquiries and ongoing projects"

January 25, 2018

5.0

Pros

It provides a fair amount of customization. You are able to input a lot of different types of information from Contacts, Service Quotes, Invoicing and Payments and Scheduling. Really like being able to link contacts to all the data entries; including inquiries, sales, payments etc. I can easily open a contact and see the people they are linked to, the quotes/sales/payments/projects they are associated with. Assigning tasks to specific users and clearly listing the "to do" list on the main page. Lots of tutorials/webinars provided online by the company Shows history of logs of each project.

Cons

No decent solution to print contacts information on envelopes (no ability to customize formatting to North American style addressing) Slight learning curve. Takes time to set up custom document templates and workflows. File sharing/document contributing could be improved. No way to add customized databases, My personal need requires me to be able to list filenames that are separated into groups. The invoices must include the list of files organized by the recipient teams for the client to be able to chargeback their teams separately. Geared heavily toward wedding photographers and print selling. I have no idea what the colour coding of records means, no legend. Not sure how shoot records are sorted. They just seem to be randomly sorted if there is no shoot date added to the record. High initial cost

### "Helps manage dozens of moving targets"

September 20, 2022

5.0

My experience with the software has been very positive. The support is extremely good - best I've ever had in this field. When I do run into a question, they are quick to help.

Pros

I've used several studio management platforms in the past and so far Light Blue has been the best. It helps organize all the moving parts of client management, studio assets, shoots, and sales.

Cons

It sometimes takes quite a bit of time to figure out how to do what I want to do.

### "Best CRM System for Photographers"

December 3, 2019

5.0

Well it is in my opinion the absolute best software on the market to manage your photography business!

Pros

Light Blue offers a whole set of tools you need as a photographer. From questionnaires, to contracts over to invoices the software helps you in every step of your business. I love the fact that you customers can fill in forms and sign contracts online without having to print anything. Makes it really easy to work. It has built in e-mail automations you can use for your shoots and workflows make sure you don't miss a to-do before or after your shoots. Great software support as well!

Cons

Well the software itself looks a little bit outdated. But the optics don't really have an impact on functionality.
