Pros The tracking and reporting of auction through charts and data is very easy to follow, as is the entering of data. We've had complex, well attended events, and this software helps us keep everything in one place, online, and accessible anywhere. The fact that our past years are all archived is very handy for year over year comparisons. Cons I think the way the auction items are displayed (in past years, at least) is a little small and takes some time in editing to get titles to look good. Review Source RB Rachel B. They have great documentation and were willing and able to walk me through some of the more difficult aspects of set-up. Much of the program is very user friendly. It is easy for patrons to buy tickets on line and the day of event check-in and check-out were simple for our volunteers to pick. Our board and director love the post-auction reports. The aspects of the program that were difficult for us were some of the background set up making sure the webpage portal and since we didn't use the pre-made thank you letters, getting all the information we wanted together in a spread sheet for a Word merge letter. July 17, 2017 5.0 It helps us to have one place to send all people involved with our event (sponsors, donors, volunteers, attendees) and one place for all the money to be processed as well. The reporting is very helpful to plan for the event and reconcile everything when the event is over. Pros I like the ease of use, the ability to train volunteers and other board members on the software, and the ability for attendees to use the system to purchase tickets and bid on the online auction items. Sponsors and donors can also use the system to let us know what they are donating and I get notifications for all transactions. Anytime I need help I can ask a question via email and I have always gotten the help I need in a timely fashion. Used the software for: ### "SchoolAuction.Net is THE Choice for Your School" January 4, 2017 5.0 Over the past four years, I've used SchoolAuction.Net at fundraisers for five different public schools. These events have ranged from elementary to high school and from a $30,000 event to an $85,000 event. I've found the program very easy to use and quite comprehensive in what it has to offer. When I have had questions, their customer service has been fast and professional. A nice help desk employee even stayed online with me for half an hour while I had questions about transferring data from one year's event to the next. Additionally, improvements are continually made to the program each year. Besides SchoolAuction.Net I've used lower end programs and higher end programs at other nonprofit fundraisers. Basically, you get what you pay for. Cheaper programs are harder to use, and expensive programs give you more than you need/want. SchoolAuction.Net is a great solution for nonprofits, especially those that will be fundraising for multiple years. Highly recommended. Review Source MC Michelle C. Used the software for: ### "Perfect Software for our fundraising needs" October 7, 2016 5.0 Our school has used the schoolauction.net software for multiple events over the last few years and love its flexibility. I organize an annual art show that runs a large checkout room over 2 days. We have over 1,500 customers buying from our one of the 150 artists that are selling and SchoolAuction.net does a great job of not only tracking the sales, but has great reports that we can check out what is selling, who is buying, and when they are buying. Having all this data available for the past few years has helped our PTA figure out how to best plan for future shows. The few times we have had a question about the software and the customer service has been available and helpful. Our school also uses the software for our annual auction and I know they love being able to pre-register customers which makes for a speedy check out, something everyone loves. The software is very user-friendly and intuitive, allowing us to train new volunteers with ease every year. The admin tools streamline all our processes and keep us organized and I can't speak highly enough of the customer support. The SchoolAuction.net customer service excels at professional, friendly and timely responsiveness. The support staff actually monitors the progress of your auction from behind the scenes to anticipate any potential snags before they happen, eliminating any possible problems on the big night. The team and software are so good that we were actually able to successfully hold an auction through a power-outage without missing a step. Their review of our site prior to the event is also helpful to find those bugs you did not catch. It is also improved each year with additional features. Can't imagine ever doing a huge event without this software!! Pros Ease of use on auction night. Provides detailed reports. Pretty decent ability to customize for my event and school. Cons Entering items is a tad bit complicated as you have to enter donor first from a different screen, then enter the item in the catalog. March 20, 2015 4.0 We used several versions of this product as well as another (Bidding for good) for our once a year online auction and this version of schoolauction is, by far, the best. the interface is intuitive, the check-in and out process is quick and easy and i really like the additional features (self check-in and out, for example) that came on-line in time for our current event. The cart functionality is easy-breezy and it is super simple to move (or cancel/"Unbid") items for customers who have changed their minds. Also of note was the ability for us to tap into our existing bank processing system so we didn't have to manage two sets of charges. We did have a few "custom" requests throughout the set-up process that were not able to be implemented but in the grand scheme of things, the requests were relatively minor and the customer service response was prompt. this is a great software package for the price and we would definitely recommend it. Pros Registration, check in and out, comprehensive auction input information, mobile usability, reports, multiple user profiles and levels of accessibility. Cons It's not as efficient as I would like it to be - it takes more time than I would like to enter and submit registration information (screen processing time, and to my knowledge it only allows you to make changes to one registration at a time versus a whole table of attendees). March 9, 2018 4.0 Ability for bidders to register online, checkout themselves and to receive ongoing outbid notifications during our event. The payment/check out piece was very simple. Pros Easy to use. The training videos were very good and easy to understand. The initial data entry (bidders, donors, auction items) was comprehensive. Cons Download registrants from prior year also registered for this year's event; apparently it allowed it even though an account already existed. As one of the chairs of this year's event, I was naive to all that goes into putting on the show. This website provided valuable timelines, to-do lists, and simple, straight-forward instructions (that made complete sense) which guided my step-by-step to the finish line. The video tutorials were super helpful, the list of help topics was accessed easily when needed, and being able to look up my own questions proved extremely valuable. I found this site to be simple to navigate and set up with many helpful reminders along the way. The only area in which I felt it was lacking was in personalizing the site. Colors were nice to play around with, but to add an image/background was difficult as I don't know that "language". I highly recommend using SchoolAuction.Net to help organized auction items- it actually organizes your whole event. Pros The program is all inclusive and hassle free. Any items you enter are put into different lists that you may need to access to make your event a success. You can print already made labels, big sheets, and signs. It keeps donors and procurement organized and easy to use year after year. October 5, 2017 5.0 Pros The ability to let people store their credit cards for use at the event was what I liked most about this software. Cons The reports. They aren't really formatted for the tyoe of event we put on, which was not an auction. I would have liked to have a way to easily see how many of each item was sold and how it was paid for at the same time. As it was, I was able to figure out ways to get the info I needed, but it was more time consuming. I understand that you can't please everyone, though, and was very happy with the overall experience. I researched numerous auction companies and this one is by far the best value. Many auction companies have additional fees on a sliding scale taking percentages of your income, NOT THIS ONE! A flat fee with no extra costs. The software is web based, allowing many different users, which was very helpful. I cannot say enough about the support. Even with the least expensive package I got responses to all of my online queries and many times they imported data and spreadsheets for us in minutes that could have taken our volunteers hours. We've now started preparation for our second auction using SchoolAuction.net and after migrating our data from last year we are quickly on our way! " October 27, 2016 5.0 Our school has been using SchoolAuction.net for several years with great success. I was the procurement chair for the 2016 auction and I used the software on a weekly (and daily!) basis for months. I am also a professional fundraiser with 20 years experience, so I've used fundraising software for years. SchoolAuction.net is user-friendly and it allowed us to provide a seamless and professional experience for our guests. We net $100K last year and this income came from numerous revenue sources: raise the paddle, beer toss, heads or tails, silent and live auction, gift certificate wall, etc. SchoolAuction.net was great for all of that -- the volunteers who were trained the day of the auction were able to easily check in and out our guests. Education Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Awesome Auction Software" August 17, 2016 5.0 We went from a dated off-line software package to SchoolAuction.net. Transition could not have been easier. The software interface is very clean and easy to navigate. Instead of passing excel files around to people and then entering data into our old software, everyone could do their part online from home. Training staff on software was extremely easy. The site also has very good documentation if you need help. We hooked the software into one of their partner credit card processors (they have many with very good fees as well). Again, everything was very straightforward. Day of the event: Check-In was a breeze. Bought some cheap credit card readers off of Amazon and "vaulted" patrons credit cards. Entering of final bids was again very easy. Check-out, which used to consist of extremely long lines, was basically eliminated with the mobile check-out feature. December 14, 2016 5.0 From beginning to end, our experience with the SchoolAuction software as well as the support staff was great! The tutorials by themselves are super, but they go a step further with practice videos and training sessions. The ability to have our volunteers 'practice' what they would do the night of the auction when the pressure was on, was invaluable. The ease of use, quick turnaround from the close of auction to check out, and online auction capabilities definitely enhanced our donor's experience. Pros Tutorials and training videos. Ease of use. It was quick and easy to set up and manage, was simple for our auction participants to use, and gave us a great experience. Pros This was a great product that provided the functionality we needed, along with being very easy to understand and customize to meet our needs. Cons For Auction bidding, it would have been a great addition to allow both auto-bidding along with individual bids as an option for customers. We were referred to SchoolAuction.net as an option. We checked them out and ended up subscribing to their services and product. We are so happy we did! The system took some time to understand and learn but once it was figured out, it was really easy to use. Every time we had a question, we got a quick answer back from the support team. Our volunteers were able to learn how to use the check-in/check-out system easily enough. The pre-event section is amazing (catalog; bid sheets; etc); and the post-event stuff is really great, too. Pros Check in and out at the event was a breeze and required very little training time for the volunteers. Our guests were very impressed that there was little to no wait to check out! Cons There are a few issues with the search functions that can be frustrating (ticket buyer shows when typing in characters in search field yet returns the message "no record matches your search criteria"). Also, the program will allow you to enter certain information or return tickets that can cause issues later. These issues where not included in the documentation. July 20, 2017 5.0 Pros The software has so many useful features that are very user friendly and put all the information you need right at your fingertips. Inputting items and donors, selling tickets, and printing well-organized bid sheets made the entire process very easy! Cons There was no alert to clearly show that a guest had completed self-checkout when searching . It is easy to use and navigate and the help we receive from your company is outstanding. I do have a few comments: This year, when I entered guests who had purchased a ticket, some of the information is hard to have ahead of time. Namely an email address. I preferred the form from the last few years where that item wasn't mandatory to save a guest into the system. Also, at check out, when you click to send the receipt via the email address, it would be nice to get a notice that the email had sent. It works when you send an email for a ticket purchase but not for the auction receipt. Overall, I LOVE this system and recommended it to the Catholic high school in town for use for their annual event.
