Cons Certain tasks, especially related to taxes and certain filing issues are hidden behind multiple levels of menus. For overall usage, this makes sense, but it does require specific knowledge of what you're looking for to find it. There's a lot of depth to it for a bookkeeping software, where a good accountant can make the most of each subscription tier with some creativity. Pros It's fairly intuitive from a UI standpoint. There is too large a stack of things I'd like to see different though, that's why it's not 5\* review. Cons The difficulty to fix errors. For instance, if your beginning balance if off for a reconciliation due to a transaction you deleted, it would be great to have a suggestion of how to actually fix it instead of "ok, here's what you deleted"...that would "help me fix it" more than the audit trail only. But the most basic level, which is what I needed, felt overpriced and I felt almost conned into buying the next level up just for value for money but then, when you realise you're not using everything you're paying for, you bitterly drop back down to the lower price tier. Pros Customer support is really helpful and it is so easy to navigate once you've got to grips with it. Making tax digital has been made really easy Cons It's a steep learning curve for someone who hasn't kept their own books before. It’s a practical, reliable accounting tool that handles the core financial basics well without requiring too much effort to maintain. From a SaaS and operational perspective, it’s easy to access, fairly intuitive, and works well for keeping financial data organised and up to date. It’s particularly useful for invoicing, expense tracking, and giving visibility across business finances in real time. The user interface is generally strong, though it can become a bit more complex as you move into deeper accounting functions or larger datasets. I can’t comment too heavily on value for money from a commercial perspective, and I haven’t needed to rely much on customer support due to not running into major issues personally. Overall, it’s a dependable, widely used accounting platform that does a good job of covering everyday financial operations without unnecessary complexity. Pros QuickBooks Online is a solid, easy-to-use accounting platform that works well for day-to-day financial management without needing deep accounting knowledge. The user interface is clean and fairly intuitive, especially for core tasks like invoicing, expense tracking, and basic reporting. From a SaaS perspective, it keeps things simple and doesn’t overcomplicate the essentials, which is helpful when you just need to get things done quickly. Access and connectivity are strong, with everything running in the cloud and syncing across devices, which makes it easy to stay on top of finances whether you’re in the office or on the go. Team collaboration is also decent, particularly when multiple users (like finance teams, accountants, or managers) need access to the same financial data in real time. I've used this in past businesses with collogues and it served us well. From a value standpoint, it’s generally good for what it offers, especially for small to mid-sized businesses that want a straightforward accounting solution without heavy enterprise complexity. Cons While the interface is generally easy to use, it can start to feel a bit cluttered once you get deeper into features like reporting, reconciliation, and more advanced settings. Some workflows aren’t always as intuitive as they first appear, especially for non-finance users. As the system scales with more data, performance can occasionally slow down, particularly in reporting views or when pulling larger datasets. There is a fairly low ceiling for customisation and reporting workflows often leading to work being done in external systems like excel. Customer support is fairly mixed, I haven’t needed to use it often, but when issues do come up, resolution can sometimes take longer than expected depending on the complexity of the problem. I can’t comment too heavily on spam filtering, as it’s not really relevant to this platform. When printing a invoice it takes three more clicks to actually print the document.
