Overall, I enjoy using Alloy Navigator and I use it every day for my job. I would recommend this product to businesses looking to improve their IT infrastructure.

Pros

Alloy Navigator makes it easy to organize and prioritize our help desk tickets and ensures the work gets done. It also has also simplified our inventory management.

Cons

Some customizability tweaks would be helpful in the future. Some areas of the interface (such as tickets) are unable to be adjusted. Being able to resize columns in this are would be beneficial.

As a new IT support tech, Alloy has been easy to learn and optimize in the helpdesk / support desk environment.

Nothing in particular - my use case for Alloy is limited to help desk / support desk for the time being.

Alloy has become a critical part in helping us manage tickets, inventory (PCs, servers, switches, firewalls, printers, copiers, and other peripherals), software, knowledge base articles and more. Much like email, browser tabs and MS Teams, Alloy Navigator is an application that I have open from the beginning of my day, until the end. I use it to prioritize my day and my technicians' days. We keep it current because the updates are easy and often include great new features.

Pros

They offer both on-prem and cloud version. We prefer the on-prem due to the potential for sensitive customer data. The user interface is intuitive and easy to learn. Tickets are easy to manage due to the various custom filters that can be created. This makes it easy for me to track my employees' workloads and progress. Our customers like that they can respond to emails or use a portal to track their help requests. Alloy support also takes feature requests that they prioritize and implement in future releases. The support team is very responsive and has always resolved my issues in a timely manner.

Cons

Software licenses can be assigned to people or devices. We spend most of our time on the computers screen in Alloy and every computer is assigned to a person. From this screen I can easily see what software is assigned to the computer, but not the person. I can navigate off computers to persons and see their assigned software, but it would be nice to see everything under computers and conversely, it would be nice to see assigned software for the computers assigned to the person when viewing the persons module. I understand why this is a challenge programmatically, but it would be very helpful if they could do it. The overall GUI often uses a table like view to see data. I wish the columns could be manually sized to fit the screen better. For example, the ticket column is quite wide leaving whitespace that could be better used to display more in the Summary/detail column.

Switched from

[Track-It!](https://www.capterra.com/p/67028/Track-It/)

Track-It! software was forcing users into their web-based product that was not really complete, and the GUI was not user friendly. It was a huge shock from the desktop client they had supported for many years.

Reasons for choosing Alloy Navigator

The price was a huge factor. Way more than Track-It! but less than the other competitors. The on-prem option as another primary factor. some of the options we considered were strictly cloud based. Demos showed that Alloy configuration was going to be simpler to learn as well.

Pros

It allows us to keep an up-to-date inventory with all the financial information. It allows us to capture live equipment.

We've had a very positive experience with Alloy Navigator. The product just works and is a good fit for us. Support has been helpful the few times we've had to contact them.

Pros

The feature set for the price is impressive. It's a perfect fit us as a SME. We've used Alloy Navigator for over 20 years and new releases come out on a regular basis. We track asset purchasing, deployment and decommissioning via the software. The creation and editing of service tickets is as simple or detailed as you want it to be. We've created custom workflows for scenarios like a new employee onboarding, new workstation deployment, etc.

Cons

The installed software for the on-premise version is a little dated looking, but the web interface, which we just started using, addresses that.

Overall, Alloy Navigator is a solid tool for IT management. It’s feature-rich and reliable, though the user interface could be more modern and easier to navigate.

Pros

I liked how comprehensive Alloy Navigator is for IT service management. It offers a great mix of asset management, help desk, and workflow automation, all in one platform, making it easy to manage IT processes efficiently.

Cons

The interface can feel outdated and a bit clunky. It takes some time to get used to, and the customization options could be more flexible.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with Alloy Navigator and our experience so far. This system is going to facilitate our future growth. It has already saved us time and prevented property loss. Once we have it fully integrated into our workflows and are using all features, it will be indispensable to daily work life.

Pros

The customization ability of Alloy is very impressive. We have not found anything that we have not been able to change so that it suits our needs. We are not even currently using Alloy to its fullest capacity yet and it has transformed workflows. Being able to track property and equipment to remote employees within the different categories is so helpful. I appreciate the flexibility of the system, once you learn the different levels of details it contains. The customer support is fantastic and really responsive. The training we received saved so many missteps when we were setting up the system. I really felt prepared to go live. Of course, we have made changes since startup as we realized different views or categorizations of items would work better, and the system makes it easy to adjust. My favorite section is the Consumables section. I am finding more and more ways to use this section. I feel that once we integrate purchasing into our Alloy workflow, our data will be so invaluable.

Cons

The only real problem I've found so far is that the Inventory Items and the Equipment Lending Library don't sync. This has been a little limiting, but the support team is working to correct that so I anticipate no problems in the future. There is a big learning curve with Alloy if you have not worked with a similar system. If you are new to Asset tracking systems, I highly recommend taking advantage of the training sessions. They are very in-depth and will prepare you well. Some of the categorizations required with Category and Type are a little redundant. Especially in the Consumable Products section. It took me several tries to figure out the best way to input these items to make them work for us.

Pros

For help desk technicians this is a very easy to use app with lot of possibilities of customization. The asset inventory and configuration part is very useful and very simple to configure. It implements globally all ITIL framework concepts.

Cons

The notification part could be improved (text editing).
