Pros Excellent analysis is made easier with this tool. Very versatile and easy to use for a variety of applications. I highly recommend it for my students during their last year for their graduation projects. The software is pretty simple and there are many tutorials available that help the students while using the software. Importing data is so simple and generating graphs is very easy. There are a lot of statistical tools available but I like to use ANOVA and student-t test. Pros Minitab has a lot of great features that are quite accessible with little to no training with the software. Obviously some level of statistical training is necessary to work any statistics software, but the user interface is simple and well guided. I was a big fan of this software for my statistical analyses when I was in undergraduate. Cons The statistical tools are relatively basic. I believe there are competitors that can handle larger datasets more routinely and powerfully. For individual dataset analysis, this is a great tool, but to scale up and run a business around a software, there are solid competitors that can be upgraded to. It has a friendlier interface than most of the other statistical programs making it the ideal program for beginners. Cons The programme is not compatible with most of the programs I use making it difficult for me to import and export data. The jpegs are very good but... Cons What have they done to the regression buttons? - they are now incomprehensible except to the effete statisticians - the basic print out is poor beyond words far better to use R as in XYR<- read.table("C:/users/owner/My Documents/XY.txt",header=T) > attach(XYR) > summary(lm(Y~X)) Please restore a button that will give a printout that is of the same standard. Otherwise I will have to go elsewhere - personally I cannot stand the intellectual snobbery that uses obscure terms and complicates the simple under the guise of being more sophisiticated.
