From analytics provided by the robust platform through to the mobile UI, we’ve leveraged the platform to build and implement compelling tactics. For the advantage of simplicity, we used Mailchimp for the amount of features it offers and its scalability. Delivery rates here were good, and the platform had a good reputation for reliable delivery and also good customer support. In terms of the integrated marketing tools and automation capabilities, it all fit perfectly into what we required. Pros Its convenient drag and drop email builder and full analytics dashboard make it stand out. Through the behavioral targeting capabilities and advanced segmentation options, you enjoy unmatched control over campaign personalization. Cons Better duplicate handling is needed in the contact management system. More complex flag branching would be great for the automation builder. At times, I wonder if I can get by without it, but I still keep going back to it instead of any other native email program I could be using within my CRM. That says something about the general ease of use, but I wish it were easier to clean up my mailing list so that all the leads and contacts remain consistently labeled and organized. It sometimes feels like I would be better off closing my account and starting a fresh one so that I wouldn't be building on top of previous iterations or mistakes from my past. Pros The drag-and-drop templates are easy to use and effective for whipping up emails with ease. I also like the ability to create and link independent landing pages with the same ease. Cons List management is difficult. No matter how much I try to update tags or categories, it never seems to be as accurate as I want. I have tried many email clients, and this is hands down the best. I had a scary instance recently where another one of my users deleted a whole audience, and support helped me recover everything within 20 minutes. Couldn't be happier. Pros I love how easy it is to design emails and set your audiences. Their "Tags" feature is another one I use all the time. Cons Finding what you are looking for can be cumbersome if you are looking for something a little more particular. However, I have found that what I am looking for is usually always there somewhere. Their help desk is excellent as well, so you never have to be stuck for long. Cons I would have lived it if Mailchimp is customised at a cheaper rate. Now there are so many more to choose from. Pros I am not a graphic designer but MailChimp makes building emails easy to do for non-designers. It got the job done for me for sending weekly marketing campaigns and I did not need to get resource help. The integration with social media platforms to push the campaign as posts were fairly easy and added another touchpoint with the customer. Lists are easy to upload. Cons Management of the lists is always the aspect of email marketing that gets overwhelming for me and I am not sure that MailChimp takes that stress off me. There can be a lot of lists and it can get mind-boggling to keep up with, though unsubscribes are streamlined so that's good. There's tiers for most levels of service you would need, and can easily scale up as your newsletter grows. It integrates well with my organizations CRM as well. Cons Some metrics that Mailchimp provides can be fairly opaque, such as what they qualify as an 'often' 'sometimes' or 'rarely' engaged subscriber.
