The database input was not complex to import batch contacts and individual contact updates is simple. Cons They increase their price very often and are getting extremely pricy! Pros The main Pro of Mailchimp is it's ease of use and low learning curve in order to get going on your email campaigns. Those with not as much experience or not as tech savvy will have an easy to time setting up and executing on campaigns. Cons Lack of flexibility, lacks advanced customizability and advanced features. It is very rigid with how it controls users and emails. Does not handle large distribution lists very well. A lot of my colleagues know how to use it; and thus it was very easy for me to go along with it. I create campaigns and ask my colleagues to send them to relevant contacts and then keep track of analytics. It is very smooth. Pros I like how there are so many features available. There's bulk email - the main thing I use and we have all those templates for landing page creation, flexible import/export of data, integrations with advertisements, and more. Mailchimp is loaded with features and what we can achieve with it depends on how much we can use because there is so many. Cons I wish there was an easier user interface and more tutorials on the product. There are tutorials but I wish there were tutorials about tricks and tips that we can apply to achieve certain output. The ability to achieve compliance with anti-spam legislation is of sufficient importance to override the frustrations of working with the system. Pros The best feature of Mailchimp is the ability to maintain a mailing list in compliance with anti-spam legislation. Although the platform is not specifically set up to comply with Canadian legislation, the user can manage their subscription so as to achieve compliance. Cons Mailchimp can be clunky and non-responsive. When creating a mailing, the format appearing on the screen does not necessarily reflect the format that appears in the actual mailing. I've used Mailchimp to create monthly newsletter-style emails as well as automated welcome campaigns to nurture new leads. It has served my needs and the needs of my clients well. Pros Mailchimp is pretty user-friendly (especially the new email builder), easy to get set-up and has all of the features you'd want in an email marketing system. Cons Mailchimp used to have a VERY generous free plan, but have recently changed their structure for the free plan as well as raised their prices. I do need to use it more though in future! Pros Makes it very easy to important all of my contacts and arrange them into groups. Its also great to see how many people have actually opened the email too. Cons For me the price is a little high for what I need it for.
