Pros Mailchimp is a marketing platform that allows you to easily create, schedule, and send emails for a large audience. The features allow you to be able to segment your email list to send to a more specific group and even create an automated email chain. I mostly use surveys and email marketing, but the whole ecosystem guides you in monitorng, tracking and manage lists/audiences. It makes me feel in control without the stress I lived by using other tools. Pros They improved gradually with a clear, clean and user friendly interface. Cons Few years ago, it wasn't so straighforward to understand how to set campaigns, and the website builder was pretty horrible to use. Now, they have improved both greatly. I'm starting a new business now, and although I'll shop around, I know I will be back to Mailchimp. I've never had any issues with emails going out, campaigns have been smooth. I can brand my emails and I'm trying to love analytics. The webforms are invaluable and there are always improvements and new features. My final note - there are so many email marketers now. Go with one that's beeb around a long time, like Mailchimp Pros I've used most email marketing software but I always come back to Mailchimp. A huge bonus for anyone new to this form of marketing is that you can build and grow a list for free until you reach 500 subscribers. This gives new businesses the time to get to know the system, send emails and learn about analytics before committing to a paid plan. A lot of competitors offer a free month but Mailchimp goes further. And I've always reached that 500 quickly without that added pressure. Cons I personally have found the interface not as clear as it could be. Mailchimp is a machine and I have to focus on each part at a time. I always find something new it can do. That's fun to try out though. It does take some getting used to. Start with the emailing and tack the rest on. Cons Randomly breaks, Support are useless, display issues on various platforms / devices such as broken multi-column layouts (Outlook), and poor mobile layouts. Pros I liked Mailchimp's UI better, and their app was amazing for sending email campaigns on the go. Since they no longer integrate directly with Shopify, I started using Klaviyo, but they don't have a mobile app and their UI is not as good. Cons Since I am unable to link my Shopify account directly to Mailchimp, I switched to Klaviyo. It is a wonderful starter email service to utilize for my business. Pros I loved the ability to customize branding with Mailchimp, email list engagement tracking, and the capability to do A/B testing with emails so I can see what types of titles lead to more clicks.
