As a small business owner, it's been great. Starting out with its free plan was a huge plus, and I've been able to grow my email marketing efforts thanks to its easy-to-use features. September 30, 2024 5.0 Overall I love Mailchimp and it has really helped me create stunning emails to send out in one mass email. The click map is crucial and helps me to keep my clients happy. Pros I am a big fan of mailchimp. I like how easy it is to create beautiful emails, and track who clicked on each link and view a click map, you can send your email out in a social share easily and replicate emails easily. You can start a chat with their customer service at any time, and they will not leave you without solving your problem which I immensely appreciate. Cons It took me a long time to realize how to get moving ads inside the email, it has to be a GIF and it can be really tricky to do sizing. It does the job as far as email marketing but I found the restrictions and lack of features frustrating when compared with other providers. It's fine if you need a simple email marketing solution but if you need more functionality and features then there are other better options out there. Pros It's a solid option for email marketing - the number of subscribers you get on the free plan is good and it has nice, easy-to-use customisation options. Cons The free plan doesn't offer automations which is annoying if you're trying to set up delivery of a free ebook or other incentive. Once you move on to the paid plan, segmenting the audience is clunky - if a subscriber is in more than one segment then it's counted twice towards your overall subscriber count. We liked the application and features but were disappointed by the price and the restrictions. Mailchimp has a very good user experience at the application level but there is too much control on how we want to market our products. Unless they adjust we would not return using their product. Pros Mailchimp has a very good GUI. The application is very easy to use and well-designed for email marketers. I enjoyed the pre-made templates and designs. In addition, I was able to use the campaign features that helped me efficiently create email campaigns without any issues. Cons Unfortunately, the two main reasons we stopped using Mailchimp were the price and the restrictions that Mailchimp places on affiliate marketers. We were able to find alternative products that allow us to send emails without any limitations or restrictions on volume. While we understand we do not want to send spam messages, we have always felt restricted by the strict Mailchimp requirements. Plus we had no choice but to move on because we have affiliate links throughout our marketing products and using Mailchimp was very restrictive. A lot of my colleagues know how to use it; and thus it was very easy for me to go along with it. I create campaigns and ask my colleagues to send them to relevant contacts and then keep track of analytics. It is very smooth. Pros I like how there are so many features available. There's bulk email - the main thing I use and we have all those templates for landing page creation, flexible import/export of data, integrations with advertisements, and more. Mailchimp is loaded with features and what we can achieve with it depends on how much we can use because there is so many. Cons I wish there was an easier user interface and more tutorials on the product. There are tutorials but I wish there were tutorials about tricks and tips that we can apply to achieve certain output. The ability to achieve compliance with anti-spam legislation is of sufficient importance to override the frustrations of working with the system. Pros The best feature of Mailchimp is the ability to maintain a mailing list in compliance with anti-spam legislation. Although the platform is not specifically set up to comply with Canadian legislation, the user can manage their subscription so as to achieve compliance. Cons Mailchimp can be clunky and non-responsive. When creating a mailing, the format appearing on the screen does not necessarily reflect the format that appears in the actual mailing.
